I would like to thank the weight loss grant program in helping me with able to lose my weight loss goal. I would recommend this program to other people to help them to lose weight. With the help of this program and Dalewood Health Center, I was able to meet my -40lbs weight loss plus more. I also learn how to take care of myself and how to eat right. If anyone is looking forward to loss weight, this is the right program to start and learn to keep the weight off.

My experience with the Weight Loss Grants Organization has been a positive one. I was sceptical when I reached out to them but the incentive and guidance they provided made the difference between success and failure. I was given the tools I needed to lose 70 lbs in 8 months and have surpassed my goal! I am so glad that I contacted them!

I applied to this website for a grant to see a dentist for Implants, I was contacted by ***, and she told me that the only Dr. who was accepting patients with the Grants Program at my location was this Dr. in Rock-wall city, TX who is 45-50 minutes away from me, I accepted because I need the Implants, she said that I was responsible for the X-Rays and charged my card with $50.00. I told her that I have insurance and replied that I was going to get a refund when the Dr. received the Payment from my insurance. The Dr. evaluate me and decided that before Implants I need Braces first to straighten my teeth before implants. The Dr. office front desk ladies charged my insurance for the X-Ray and the Evaluation that was not part of the visit , I still haven't received my 50 dollars yet. They also get me in bondage with a Care Credit Card for $5500.00 with high Interest of 26% for the braces. I called *** to ask why I was deceived with a grant and instead they forced me to take that card to pay for my braces when my insurance covers 60% of braces, *** said she don't care what the Dr. Office charged me she was only going to call them for my $50.00, but they never pay me back. I also told the lady at the Dr. office that I have cash to pay because I don't want to have any debts or pay interest, she said I have to and that I would not pay for interest after a year, that was totally a *** I was charged $132.00 + $30+ 76. I complained to Dr. of what the ladies did to me and he promised he was going to bill my insurance and then he was going to pay that money back to me they lady sent the claim to my insurance incorrectly so my insurance requested for more information to pay them, she hasn't send it yet is being 2 months since the Dr. and me have spoken of billing my insurance to get me my money, I offered the from lady a fax so she can expedite the service to my insurance she said I already sent it, obvious she hasn't is being a month and my insurance hasn't sent me anything, I also call them and spoke to *** and he told me they haven't? received a response from the Dr. to correct the claim they sent to my insurance.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I want my $50.00 Dollars back, and the itemized Claim so I can send it to my insurance and get pay directly by them, because that Lady at the Dr. office is never going to do it, this company also needs to be investigated by offering Grants. The differences between Grant and Credit Card with High Interest are totally not the same .

Hello - I have carefully read your complaint and as much as we would like to help you, we cannot provide you the information or the $50 refund you are seeking.

The $50 for the x-rays was given directly to the dentist, not us.

We also cannot provide you forms for your insurer.

We also are not the finance company. We do not provide financing and we did not submit your application to the finance company.

I'm sorry we cannot be more helpful but your complaint is misguided toward us as we are not the party that can help you with the remedies you are asking for.

Please contact the dental office directly.

Weight loss grants gave me the motivation to lose the weight. I am happier and healthier now and have gained my health back. I know have the energy to exercise and better mental clarty to make better choices. I lost 27lbs in 10months I haven't felt better in a very long time.

The Weight loss Grant program was a huge success for me. I lost all the weight required and then some in the allotted time required. If you are serious about losing weight this program will certainly help you achieve your personal goal. I think that because you apply your own money up front is incentive alone to do the work and get your money reimbursed. At least that was a huge part of why I worked so hard to get the job done. Now that I have got the weight off my life will never go back to what it was prior to taking the program.

The weight loss grants provided me with the incentive to work towards a healthy lifestyle change. The support that I received was good for me as I am very motivated to works toward goals and challenges. I will be receiving my grant money shortly and would like to thank the weight loss grants for their support in my journey!

I want to thank the weight loss grant and their entire team for this great job they are doing which is changing our lives .I join the weight loss grant on Oct 15 2017 my weight on that day was 155 pounds and they send me to Dale wood clinic where I started my journey I lost 25 pounds and drop 4 sizes today I am 130 pounds and am maintaining it as the weight loss program is not about fast diets or rapid weight loss it is about lifestyle to have great health and full of energy this is how I am today and the best part you got your money back which is awesome I would recommend this program to all of you out there and is looking to change your life style feel great full of energy and feel wonderful is your clothes and have self-confident

I joined the weight loss grant program. I was approved for my refund on July 5th 2018 and they refuse to let me know if they have mailed my back my refund. I have gone though all the avenues to contact someone with no reply

I have recieved the Cheque, thank you for your help.

With assistance from the Weight loss Grant Program I was able to join a program to help me lose my weight. I set my goal and got started. I lost 75lbs in 8 months. This was better than the goal I set. I am so much healthier and happier. Being able to work with a weight loss program and having deadlines helps you stay committed and receive your grant. If you need the incentive to lose weight and regain your health..Reach out and get started! Thank you!

Weight loss grants gave me the incentive and guidance to lose the weight and gain my health back. I lost 30 lbs in 4 months. I haven't felt better in a very long time

Thank you to the Weight Loss Grant Program. I had yo yo'd diet most of my life and tried various exercise programs. I'm very pleased to have taken part in this endeavour. Congratulations Diane!

On my way home from work I always tune in the radio and I heard this commercial about Weight Loss Grant.Org. First I did not believe that you get rewarded for losing weight. Anyhow I didn't have anything to loose except my weight which I struggled for few years . So I called and one of the associates explained to me the process and 2 days later I received the registration form and as as soon as I have completed the form I sent it back and that was the start of my journey. I lost 33 lbs in 6 months and the motivation for me to do this is first my health and feeling confident again. The big reward at the end of my journey was the grant from Weight Loss. I am now committed to keep my weight for health reason and now I love myself. Thank you Weight Loss Grant.org.

I was contacted by the Weight Loss Grant Organization in September 2017. They set me up with ***, a accredited weight loss organization. I cannot say enough what a wonderful fulfilling experience it was for me. From October 2017 until now I have lost 34lbs and have gained a confidence in my body and mind I didn't know I had. I am very grateful to the Weight Loss Organization for the support and would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you Tracey, it's so great to hear of your success and we wish you long-lasting continued good health!

The Agency referred me to a Dentist Dr. *** D.D.S. - in Beverly Hills *** N *** Dr, Beverly Hills, CA XXXXX. I paid $50 for an initial visit which my insurance was billed as well. I was told I could not participate in the program unless the Dentist (***) did a CT scan for $500. I paid the $500 haven't heard from the company since. They explained after the dentist evaluated my mouth; submitted the final pricing, the company will send information of the grant amount I would be approved for. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM.

Weight Loss Grants Organization Response • May 25, 2018

Hello,

We have not been able to approve a grant amount for you because we have not received the cost of the treatment plan from Dr ***.

We suggest that you contact Dr *** and ask her for your treatment plan. Once you have that, please contact us and we will let you know how much your grant will be for.

If Dr *** is unable or unwilling to provide you with a treatment plan, then you should ask her to return the $500 you paid to her.

Unfortunately, we cannot return the $500 as it was not paid to us.

We look forward to hearing from you once you have your treatment plan.

Regards

Customer Response • Jun 01, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The reason I'm unsatisfactory with the business response is because this process was not explained on initial consult, the agency gave a chronological and detailed explanation on how this process would be executed i.e first I would get a free oral exam from a selected dentist, but I paid $50(they also billed my insurance) after the dentist gives me a free oral health assessment he/she will submit an treatment plan over to the company, and lastly the company would then mail out the grant amount that I would be approved for. Now in actuality this has be false, I've been told that a consultation could not be submitted unless I had a CT scan totaling $500 and then after the dentist explaining that I need to apply for a loan or get a co-signer for a loan to render services. This company Cosmetic Dentistry Grants Program are the PIMPS! They prey on desperate people who are in need of discounted cosmetic dentistry, refers them to these dentist-who draw up a services plan which is outrageous (with hopes) that the person applies for Care Credit to have them pay for their own dental procedures. This company has no grant that helps pay for your dental work, so all I paid for was an unnecessary test and procedure, in which I've never heard from Cosmetic Dentistry Grants Program again -nothing went as explained. I would like my $500 refunded to me I don't care who it's from.

April 11,2017 I began a weight loss program that I was referred to by this organization. The contract was that I was required to lose 40 pounds within one year. When I completed that I would receive a grant of 80% of the fee paid for the program. I lost the 40 pounds by December but was told by *** that I had to weigh I at another clinic. I weighed in at the other location in January 2018 and got written confirmation that I had in fact reached my goal. I was then told by Ms *** that I had to submit a letter thanking the weight loss grant company, the confirmation of the weight loss and the receipt of what I paid for the weight loss program. She wrote back via email that it could take up to 30 days to process. By March I still hadn't received my grant so I started emailing Ms ***. No answer. I got hold of her by telephone and after a brief investigation I was missing a receipt. I resubmitted the receipt and after a few emails was told on March 22 2018 my cheque was going out in the mail. I still haven't received my cheque and no one is answering my requests of where my rebate cheque is.

Hello - We regret that Ms *** had not received her grant payment and that it may have gotten lost or misplaced in the usual mail.

Accordingly, we have stopped payment on the lost cheque, issued a new one and sent it via registered mail to Ms ***'s home address.

We trust that Ms *** has received her grant as of this writing and that this case can now be closed.

Congratulations to Ms *** on her successful weight loss.

Weight loss grants did issue the cheque and had it couriered to my home. I have since deposited the cheque. Thank you for your help.

. I signed up on their website:
www.weightlossgrants.org and as promised, received a phone call from them to discuss my application. From what I learned from my conversation with the agent, in order to obtain 80% reimbursement, you MUST use one of THEIR clinics. I wanted to use ***. I was told that was acceptable, but only eligible for a 20% reimbursement. Then, They asked for my weight, and how much I wanted to lose. I wanted to lose 30 pounds. That was not good enough for them. I was told I had to lose what THEY said I had to lose, or I was not eligible for the program. If This is legitimate - then why would they turn down anyone willing to make a reasonable effort? Their ads clearly state that "Acceptance is guaranteed." It is, I suppose as long as you meet their demands. This is about you following the rules and agreeing to THEIR terms. You have no control, and no say in the matter. This appears highly suspicious, and seems more like a front for a crafty business model designed to trick people into signing up, as you front all of the expenses... then HOPE for reimbursement later...***. I cancelled my application.

Weight Loss Grants Organization Response • Jun 21, 2018

Dear Christopher,

We think that your goal of wanting to lose 30lbs is a good start, however as clearly stated in our terms, you must lose 20lbs, or 17% of your body weight, whichever is greater, in order to qualify.

You stated to us that your height is 5'4" and that your weight is 250lbs. If you only lose 30lbs, (12% of your current weight) then you will still be at 220lbs, which at 5"4", you are still morbidly obese and at a very untenable BMI, especially since you are over 45 years of age.

We only required you to lose 42lbs. Losing only 12 pounds more than you wanted is not unreasonable especially given your current height / weight and it would have set you up on a better path toward losing more weight, which is needed for you to be healthier.

Our program is designed to help people get healthy, as opposed to just entering a contest that you feel you can win.

I'm now going to give you a little bit of 'tough love' ;) - Christopher, it would seem that you have given yourself an excuse for not losing the weight you so badly need to lose. Don't get hung up on '20lbs' or 'free' anything. Rather, you should just do whatever is necessary to get healthy and if our program can do that for you, which we think it can, then take what we have to offer you. It's free and has no down side.

Even if you signed up with us and then only lost 20 lbs with ***; then good for you! Our program is free and you lost nothing other than the weight, and who knows, maybe you would have gotten motivated to go for the extra 12lbs and if so, you would have gotten back 20% of the money you paid to ***. It would still be free money and now you are 42lbs lighter!

Ok, tough love statement has been said and I'm sorry if it sounded harsh but we hear from so many people that have weight to lose but find reasons not to instead of reasons to do it.

So, if / when you wish to get serious about getting into a healthy BMI and losing an amount of weight that will get you there, we are here for you and will gladly reactivate your application.

If you have already started losing weight with *** then I think that's great and we wish you tremendous success!

Stay positive!

I joint the program back last year on June 30,2017. only go there weight in for 6 times and each time only see them less than 5 minute. 1.At beginning of Jan 2018 I reached my goal, follow their procedure I need to request weight out , it took me for an month to get the appointment, and I called their office the reception who answer the called she hang off on me 2. and At the appointment date on my way drove to the appointment they call me told me to cancel the appointment because she is sick. OK the we switch next day and in different location. 3, After called and email them try to get my grant back since march, they never give me a respond. plus they're receptionist are ***, they hang off my called. the program didn't help much only thing I recommend everyone do is watch you eat and do more exercise. I request to pay me back in full refund.

Desired Outcome

pay me back in full refund, customer service are rude. doesnt hlep me much out from the program

Weight Loss Grants Organization Response

Hello,

Note: I assume Ms *** is referring to www.***.org, even though she indicates www.***.org in her filing.

While we respect Ms ***'s opinion, we must strongly disagree with her.

We are firmly within the legal and moral context of characterizing the monies we pay out to be called 'Grants'.

A Grant simply means that 'the money does not need to be repaid', which it does not. "It is being granted"...

***
Dictionary meaning:

:to bestow or transfer formally
grant a scholarship to a student
; specifically :to give the possession or title of by a deed.
***

We are not providing a 'reimbursement' because we did not receive any monies in the first place that are now somehow being returned.

Even when the government provides grants to students to go to school, it is not referred to as a 'reimbursement', even though the money is used to reimburse the student for the cost of her books which she must purchase.

(I'm not suggesting we are a government agency, I'm simply providing an example.)

Ms ***'s concern with literal accuracy or formality is misplaced as there is no harm being done to consumers in the marketplace by characterizing our award payment as a grant.

Characterizing the free money we award as a 'grant' also makes it easy for people to understand how our program works.

For example: "Lose 20 lbs in 5 months and you will be 'granted' up to 80% of the cost of your weight loss program".

We also indicate in our FAQ section that the word 'Grant' should be interpreted as 'money that does not need to be repaid'.

In conclusion, strictly interpreting the word 'grant' in a way as to somehow suggest that we are misleading the public is unfair and unnecessarily egregious.

Accordingly, we respectfully reject Ms ***'s request to characterize our grant as anything other than that which it is: A Grant.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
