Westinghouse Digital Reviews (181)

Customer was offered 7 business days from Nov. 24th  to either recycle the unit and show a recycling receipt for us to validate or customer could ship the unit to us. We will then offer a refund for the purchase price of the television.

I do apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you. Unfortunately when you file a warranty claim and it expires, just because you filed the claim before the year was over with does not mean that the warranty extends until you decide to ship the television. The warranty states that it is for 1 year and it does have to be returned in that time frame for us to replace it. Since the television was not returned to us in that time frame the televisions warranty is expired and any labor charges does fall to the customer. I am sorry that we are not able to settle the dispute and follow on your wishes. The unit is out of warranty and we cannot replace it.

A company called [redacted] responded to me and the Agent refused to provide a name.  I have no information on the identity of this criminal Agent.  I have no understanding of the company [redacted] or why they are answering on behalf of Westinghouse Digital.  The Agent has written to me that a replacement remote control has a retail price of $25. If the value of the defective remote is $25 per information provided by the Agent, then one option as a solution is for Westinghouse Digital to issue a refund for the defective goods in the amount of $25.  I have requested that Westinghouse Digital provide me with a remote control of better materials, craftsmanship, and free of defects so that I can operate the television marketed and distributed by Westinghouse Digital. Westinghouse Digital is a global, non-American corporation that sells defective and cheaply made digital televisions and accessories and components that are made in China, 3rd world slave camps, and then promoted by dishonest corporate thieves that refuse to stand behind the quality and reliability of their retail consumer goods.  They are liars.  They did however have no problem to take the original money from their customer, when they sold the defective and inferior quality products.  A very non-reputable, dishonest, and careless company.  They don't care if their hurt your wallets or fill your apartment with junk.Mr. [redacted]All Rights ReservedWithout Prejudice[redacted]

Hello- We have been working with this customer and have since then sent out a remote no charge and under warranty. Remote was delivered on 1/13/17 We apologize for the inconvenience.

Case [redacted]My name is [redacted] and I am the CS Supervisor for Westinghouse Warranty Dept. I sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience this defective unit may have caused our customer. However and it is unfortunate that we did indeed receive the TV in a very damaged state. In cases such as...

this Westinghouse requires the customer to take it up to the freight company they used to ship the TV to us. All though it is unfortunate...we are following the warranty guide lines.Once again we apologize for the inconvenience.

Case #[redacted]Hello my name is [redacted] and I am the CS Supervisor, I will be handling this case moving forward. Unfortunately, under the Westinghouse guidelines once the TV arrives damaged to our warehouse this does indeed call for the warranty to be denied and customers to file a complaint...

with the shipping carrier. I will however, make an exception and allow this case to be waved and we will refund Mrs. [redacted]. I have already offered the refund to my customer and was informed that the refund is subtotal (minus taxes). We apologize for the inconvenience and hope this resolves her case.

We do not have a case under the customers name. I have created one for him and have requested additional information to continue with his claim.

Revdex.com:I have received the response by Westinghouse Digital, LLC in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  The response is therefore REJECTED.  Westinghouse Digital, LLC has failed to take responsibility for the manufacturing defects in its product.  Unfortunately, I am one of a great number who have been victim of one of its poor products (according to my research).   The company FAILED to make a good faith effort to resolve this matter.  The company should be able to identify the unit by the identifying numbers I provided.   I am happy to file a small claim in civil court, as the company will be FORCED by a court of law to respond.  I will not let this go--ever.  I will not stop until I have exhausted ever legal remedy available to me.  You should know that I once spent over $4,000.00 proving that I was innocent of a "driving while using cell phone" summons that would have cost me less than $150 because I knew I was innocent.  No time is to much, and no amount is to high in pursuing justice in this case.  I am completely outraged that my product has stopped working in less than one year, and even more disgusted at the company's response.  This anger has only fueled my fire.  I have already filled out the civil complaint and look forward to filing it on Tuesday in Essex County Superior Court of New Jersey - Civil Division.   Westinghouse will not be the first, nor will it be the last company that I force into court.

I would accept this agreement if my replacement TV was not faulty and had issues as soon as I unpacked it or if you had dont the right thing in sending me a brand new item as was originally promised to me, Instead I am now out the cost of shipping my original device to you, have spent nearly 2 months without a TV in one room of my house and been treated rudely by your customer service. Also I have been ignored on multiple requests to speak with your corporate offices. I do request my shipping back. I do not accept that with you telling me to ship the unit back and I will receive a refund minus tax for the cost of the unit, you should not also be help responsible for the cost of the shipping. All I want is what I have spent on this whole fiasco and nothing more.

Since Westinghouse is still in business, we believe they should honor the warranty offered by their sister company, "Westinghouse Digital". The Westinghouse name is associated with the Interactive Whiteboard we purchased, and Westinghouse told us they could repair it...only, they said it would cost. It would be good business to honor the warranty to a product with your name on it.

Please respond to the email requesting photos of the screen so we can confirm the unit is not damaged. We will then proceed with the warranty process.

The receipt the customer provided only states a check amount paid in the amount of $263.74 and policy on check payments.
The receipt needs to be specific on what the customer purchased, with what he provided it does not tell us if a TV was purchased or other items.
The receipt must include the...

following :
1. Retailer it was purchased from
2. Item purchased
3. Amount paid for the unit
5. Method of payment.

On August 29th I sent this letter
from target (attached) along with a bank statement. This was their responce on
9-2-14; "Thank you for the documents you have provided. While these are
all acceptable proof, the letter must have a "store-stamp". Why was
it acceptable (except for the store stamp) at that time? I went to Target to
get stamp but they do not have one!
Then Target [redacted] sent an
email:
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to inform you that
Target #1980 is unable to reprint the receipt for Mr. [redacted] in order for
him to move forward with his claim. We do not have a store stamp to authorize
his letter, so accept this email as confirmation of his purchase. Please go
ahead and process his claim to assist my Guest. I appreciate your support in
this matter and you can contact me if you need further assistance.
Sincerely,

To confirm letter from Target! Then
Westinghouse stated it was not acceptable proof, (when on 9-2 it was?) It just
seems that whatever is sent to Westinghouse isn't good enough, you supply what
they ask for and then they want more and more! Westinghouse state they provided
an example of what was needed NO they didn't! Westinghouse has had 94
complaints in the last 12 months, and they have a F grade. The problem with the
TV I have that failed is due to a knowen problem. they just don't want to honor
their warranty! They look for any excuse.
The letter attached from Target
lists all required information for the warranty, but is missing a stamp (that
is not existing), but than is validated in a direct email from Target. I
believe that I supplied ample proof of the purchase and purchase date and the
warranty should be honored!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I know that my package would not have arrived damaged the way I packaged and shipped it to you. You sent me a picture of a damaged tv but no proof that it was my tv or any evidence that my box was damaged. This is all a scam and you know it. I contacted UPS as you required and scheduled it to be picked up. They made 3 attempts and the tv was not there for them to pick up. I had to have them try again after more emails and phone calls with you and then it was found. The shipper name had been changed and it was sent to someone else so that they could receive the refund and the tv!!! Ridiculous. UPS now has the tv and is investigating your horrible company because you're scamming consumers and shipping companies such as UPS. UPS has received 100s of claims and they know what you're doing. Sham on you. Give me our money back plus all of these damages for lost time and shipping.

Hello, We are sorry to hear about your unit. We were able to find your original case in our database and the unit is out of warranty. We only offer a year manufacturer warranty.  Unfortunately we are not able to assist you with a warranty claim. We provided a link to you so that you may...

find the remote for your television to work.

LABOR AND PARTS — For a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase, Westinghouse Electronics will repair any defect in material or workmanship in the Product, or at its option, replace a defective Product. During the one (1) year warranty period, Westinghouse...

Electronics will supply new or rebuilt replacement Product in exchange for defective Product, and will supply new or rebuilt replacement parts in exchange for defective parts. For purpose of this limited warranty, “rebuilt” means a Product or part that has been restored to its original specification. In exchange for defective Product or parts, replacement Product or parts will be warranted for either the remainder of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days from the date of Installation, whichever occurs first. After the expiration of the warranty period, repairs to the Product are the responsibility of you, the Purchaser.
Above is the warranty for the Westinghouse purchase. The warranty states that one year from date of purchase Westinghouse will replace the unit in exchange for the the defective product. We do require customers to pay for the shipping one way of the unit to our warehouse for inspection. We do also require that the television is sent to us before the year warranty expires in order for us to replace the unit. After the year warranty has expired it the repairs are the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately since the television was not returned to us before the warranty expired we cannot replace the unit.

Mr. [redacted] must contact us at 800-701-0680 for any Customer Service issues such as Trouble Shooting, Warranty (if still applicable) or firmware for his unit.

Hello my name is [redacted] and I am the CS Supervisor for Westinghouse's warranty dept. I am sorry to inform the we indeed denied Miss ** warranty due to the following fact: Westinghouse TV coming with a 1 year manufacture warranty. This warranty covers manufacture and/or workmanship. The...

damage on Miss **'s TV is physical damage and is not covered under the manufacture warranty. In cases such as these customers have the option to take it back to the retailer the TV was purchased from. Of course, considering the retailer's policy as well. Please see link where the Westinghouse warranty policy is exposed (EXCLUSIONS TO WARRANTY): http://westinghouseelectronics.com/support/warranty/
