Waited a week to post anything about this vacation company to give myself to calm down and do the research I should have done before booking with them Vacation Express is operated by SunWing using low cost chartersFirst, flight delays are not unusual They used charter companies that do not have a great track record which result in delays and lost vacation time My husband and I booked this vacation for our honeymoon One of the main reasons I went with this company was because of the short direct flight from Pittsburgh Airport to Freeport, Bahamas Wyndham Viva Fortuna Resort because my husband is not real comfortable with flying While waiting to board, my husband notices the Swift Air plane we were to board had something dripping out of the engine We watched while two men opened the engine cover and seemed to be checking for the problem One left and came back with containers of oil While this was going on we were told there would be a delay because the "customs paperwork was not correct"Hello! Your plane was obviously not operational and caused the delay The plane was obviously old (faded Swift Air paint) and had other visible signs that if it was not currently having problems, it recently had with hydraulic fluid stains on the tail When we boarded the plane there were numerous seats that would not stay in the upright position, the lap trays would not stay up, and luggage compartments that were difficult to close My sense of humor kicked in and I figured that I have to go sometime, at least my family would get the accident clause in my life insurance policy! We were suppose to be on the beach around noon, we finally got to pull up a lounge chair at 4: The flight was late but the organization at the hotel is just as bad We had to "pre-check in" in their "theater", which entails signing your contact, giving your credit card for incidentals During the checkin you are told that if you do not return your beach towels there will be a $a piece charge As soon as you are done there you are pounced upon by staff wanting to talk to you about membership to their resort I got away from her by telling her I was hot, tired, and angry...not now Our next stop was the guest services desk to make our reservations for dinner One person to serve the swarm of people that get off the planes together and descend on the resort You have to pick two of their three restaurants, you are not allowed to book a night at all three but no one could tell me why, "it's their policy", yet neither place was anywhere near full when we were there We had requested the Honeymoon Package upgrade which is suppose to give a better room and a champagne and cheese snack tray When we asked the girl had to run our proof of marriage to the front desk, she came back to tell us "you have a nice room" Never saw the champagne or snacks When all of the was done, we could then check-in, back at the theater where we just leftYou are given two vouchers for beach towels when you arrive (remember the $fee mentioned above?) but they were out of towels when we got to the kiosk to exchange our voucher for our towels We were told to come back in the morning When we called to get extra room towels to compensate we were told they were out of towels because the resort was fully booked and there is only two towels allowed per room When you arrive in your room there is one bottle of water with a sign on it that if you want more you can buy them in the gift shop Wait, isn't this an all-inclusive trip! The resort frequently "ran out" of things but we noticed that it seems more like they ration and when it's gone for the day, it will miraculously appear if you push gently They have fantastic staff, but notice they work extremely long hours and have to contend with the clients frustrations often If this had been my first all-inclusive I would not have known that the issues do not usually happen like they did with this one So now for the trip home The same plane with the same issues but it did take off early!! When we landed in Pittsburgh it started to storm and the ramp workers were not allowed to unload the planes right away After an hour we were told that the ramps were open and our luggage would be out soon After another hour we and our fellow passengers were trying to find someone to help us find our luggage which had never come out Another hour of waiting, following Trego/Dugan employee's arround (the company that staffs the ramp and airline staff) and the Allegheny County police getting involved (thank you Officer Jones) we finally got our luggage Three hours late! You get what you pay for is exactly right with the companies involved with providing this service and no one at any of the companies seems to care I would have given this a zero rating but it wasn't an option

I was told misadvised about trip insurance I was advised upon booking I could add trip insurance at $per passenger within weeksI called days later and I was advised that I couod no longer add $41/insurance I was required to purchase insurance at $per person(Making my insurance for people go up over $300) I do not have the money to pay this in the next days required so I am no unabke to insure my $vacation due to information

The Hotel was not as advertised, made calls to agency to request new hotel, I was told that they will call me back no one ever did My family and I including children arrived at the hotel on 6/15/The hotel advertise by agency was not what they promisedthe rooms were dirty, smelled of mold, the toilets were not working, the sheets were dirty , no towels, I called to agency to request a new hotel spoke to agents they both told me someone was going to call me back the next to change hotels, one one ever did my daughter suffers from asthma and I was very worry for her health due to the mold in the room, I explained this to the agency they did nothing, my family was force to stay in the hotel with horrible service and facilities

Beware of Vacation Express on Groupon that is using Swift Airlines!!! The bad reviews are True!!! They charter the plane and aircrew through Swift Air, so those nice people on the plane can't help you in anyway, because they don't work for Vacation Express! Our flight to Punta Cana was delayed over two hours, due to check in being so slowThey had people working for Vacation Express to get everyone's bags checked inWe had printed our boarding pass at home, so we know our seatsThey printed new ones with different seats but told us to sit wherever! Customer service with this travel organization is sorely lacking When our flight landed in Cancun we followed the instructions on our travel documents to secure transportation to reach our final destination at Cozumel Unfortunately the vendor providing shuttle did not have our name on a list and referred us to another vendor who also had no knowledge of our travel After a great deal of conversation and several phone calls our transportation issue was resolved with the third party provider We contacted Vacation Express about our concern for return transportation when the vendor failed to provide us the needed documents at the initial time of contact This not only consumed a lot of time, and international calling minutes, but also caused us to cancel several of our plans during the vacation as we waited for the calls and documents at appointed times to no avail Although this was very stressful and ruined much of our vacation I was more dissatisfied by their response to our complaint Repeatedly Vacation Express passed the blame not only the vendors but also to US Imagine that! It was our fault Our contract was with Vacation Express and we relied on them for each component - flight, shuttle, taxi, ferry and resort For this reason I hold them accountable We finally resolved the transportation issue for return on our own when we contacted the vendor directly so the issue was clearly not with the transportation company but with Vacation Express I've never experienced such lack of ownership of responsibility We were belittled in the process This customer service is NOT acceptable I will continue my pursuit of an apology with the company though their escalation process states it may take days for a response Again, this is NOT customer service I want potential customers to know the level of service they receive may underwhelm them even if the resort accommodations are great!

Refusal of refund after deceptive bait-and-switch pricing On Saturday October 22, 2016, I was redirected to the Vacation Express website after searching travel deals on Travel Zoo The travel deal I wanted to purchase was advertised on both sites as all-inclusive Jamaica hotel/resort with airfare included On the first page of redirection to Vacation Express, the deal stated round-trip airfare included When choosing the resort, at the top of that page (on the tab that was labeled "flight+hotel", other choices were "flights" and "hotels") was where you were to select your departing airport and airlineAll resorts listed stated "price per person includes airfare, taxes & fees" I selected a resort that was advertised as "$- price per person includes airfare, taxes & fees"This was for rooms selected and people per room On the next page it showed a total of $for "passengers" I completed my information and payment information, then all information for myself and
