Review: I was researching to buy a car in August and The employee [redacted] stated that its a gurantee to get a car. bring all your documents in they ran my credit and said I was not able to get a car. but if I added someone else on I would be able to get the car. I came down to separate occasions. spent the whole day there he said to hold the car I need a desposit. If you put the despoit down you will get it back. I put $500.00 down and he said they will not give me my deposit back. He told me to put the car on my insurance because I was approved. I did that I came with the rest of the money 2500 and after standing around for sever al hours. He said that I could not get the car. September 8,2014 is the day the car went on my insurance . MY insurance company would not take the car off. I got charged until 2015 because he would not give me a statement about the [redacted] I never received. Meanwhile I added my sister on the account they ran both our credits and that is how I was approved. I spent money traveling on two occasions when he said I was approved. ThenDesired Settlement: I wish to receive my $500.00 back and my gas that I purchased coming down to get a car that I was not going to receive by that company.

$50.00

Response:

When [redacted] came into A Better Way Wholesale Autos she picked out a [redacted]. At that time she signed a sales contract and put down a $500.00 non refundable deposit. Once we take a non-refundable deposit from a customer, many departments are put into action to arrange financing and to prepare the vehicle for delivery and the vehicle is made unavailable to other customers who inquire about purchasing it. The damages a dealership suffer when a customer backs out of a transaction are real. Market time is one of an automobile dealer's biggest challenges/expenses. Employing people that are all put to work for a customer is expensive. This is the purpose of taking a non-refundable deposit.

Review: I was sold a car as is but was told it was given a safety inspection and multiple levels of mechanical inspection and the car never was. I was led to believe the car was fine mechanically at the time of sale, but it was not, and that they inspected it right before delivery to me, but that was also false. Check engine light came on, on my way home for catalytic converter issues it was clearly an existing problem. I tried speaking with a better way wholesale autos and have been disrespected, hung up on and lied to some more.Desired Settlement: I believe a better way wholesale autos should be responsible for the cost of the repairs.

Mr. [redacted] purchased his vehicle "as is". Mr [redacted]'s vehicle went through a safety inspection and emissions inspection. During the emissions inspection, the catalyst converter are checked and passed. Mr. [redacted] did not give any specifics to what is actually

Review: Found this car online, We are in ** and they are in **. Called Tuesday and told them we wanted to vehicle over the phone and couldn't get there till the weekend to pick up. Salesman said that $1000 deposit will hold the vehicle till we can get down there to look at. Spent the week getting insurance switched over, check cut from the bank, car fax report ran and signing purchase agreement. Supposedly every fax we sent never made it to them. They gave us a hassle because this was a business purchase and we had to get proof of our corporation before they would sign sales agreement. We complied to every request they asked and made arrangements to pick up vehicle on Saturday. Called salesman to confirm the morning we were supposed to pick up and found out that the vehicle was sold out from under us. Spoke to the owner of the dealership, they couldn't have cared less!! This place is a sleezeball operation, buying cars at auction and flipping them for cheap prices! After reading all the reviews online we are far from the first people this has happened to. So glad we didn't waste our time driving down to get this vehicle, it probably would've been gone when we got there! Buyer Beware! We've yet to get our deposit back nor any compensation for wasted time.Desired Settlement: Refund of $1000 deposit, plus reimbursement of $54.99 spent on [redacted] report and $100 compensation spent towards time of administrative fees, issuing insurance papers, issuing bank check etc.

Response:

I have reviewed the complaint filed by Mr. [redacted]. After review of the file and speaking with Mr. [redacted]'s sales representative it is clear that documents needed to complete the transaction where missing. As a licensed dealer we have many rules and regulations when selling a vehicle to a private party whether an individual or business. Faxing paperwork over does not always mean that it comes out on the other end. After numerous phone conversations with Mr. [redacted], the salesperson made it clear that we did not receive them. Mr. [redacted] put a $1000.00 deposit on the vehicle on July 16th via credit card. The $1000.00 was refunded to him on July 22nd.

Review: Purchased 2007 [redacted]. Due to truck being covered in ice and being seen at night did not notice major paint defects on hood and roof of truck. The day after I purchased the truck I gotten it washed for the first time. I Seen something sticking up from the roof of the truck. I got up on the bed of the truck and looked at the roof and it has several 6 inch areas were the paint had peeled off and the exposed meatal rusted. I then looked down to the hood and the paint was blistered and cracked in several spots. I spoke with a manager at the dealer hopping they would repair the damage since it was not disclosed to me and imposible to notice given the environmental factors and time of day. He told me that he didn't believe I didn't see it since I seemed to be so carefull looking over the truck. I'm sorry I can not see through ice on a truck. I got pictures which are evidence of the damage which I may have to use if we can not resolve this. Damage not diclosed, and since it was an auction truck this damage may have been disclosed to them before they purchased it. This supports poor business and bad ethical practices.Desired Settlement: Contact dealer and investigate case to see if the dealer new about the damage. Ask why it was not disclosed to sellars given the factors given above. Find out if the auction house they got the truck from disclosed the damage to them which would make them responsible to disclose to me. Regardless this damage should have been brought up.

Response:

I was able to review a photo of your vehicle from when it was advertised, there is no damage in the photo. I also spoke with all of the managers and no one recalls your conversation. Seeing as your vehicle is a 2007 it was sold AS-IS which at the same time would not cover cosmetic concerns. Your concerns were not brought up during your initial inspection and test drive of the the vehicle. If they had we would have offered to have the repairs done at a local body shop with the cost to you only being what our dealership would have been charged by them. This offer still stands and if you would like to set something up please contact [redacted].

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/05/08) */

Vehicle is a 1998 vehicle, which is an as-is vehicle. We did a complete safety check, and we performed the following:

Replaced 3 tires

Repaired power steering unit.

Replaced battery.

Replaced upper ball joint.

repaired battery cable.

These repairs cost over $1000.

The vehicle was safe after the repairs.

The vehicle passed Connecticut state emissions

Please note the following from the above link:

"The Buyers Guide also alerts you when a car is being sold with implied warranties only, or with no warranty at all ("as is"). Once you complete a purchase of a car "as is" and drive it off the lot, the dealer has no further responsibility for the car. Be sure to sign the Buyers Guide and request a copy for your records."

Vehicle was not advertised with 96k. It was never represented as a vehicle with 96k.

Customer signed a federal odometer statement with correct mileage.

Customer signed a bill of sale with correct mileage.

Customer signed a federal buyers guide showing it as an as-is vehicle.

Customer never brought the vehicle in to have us check the "unsafe" condition.

We are constantly reviewing estimates from rep

air shops that over sell work needed on vehicles. We have delivered over 10,000 vehicles in the past 3 years. We only sell vehicles that have been inspected, repaired and pass emissions.

AN AS-IS VEHICLE WITH 194K MILES WILL NEED REPAIRS.

I purchased a vehicle from A Better Way on June 27, 2015. I was at the dealer while for 7-8 hours. It may have been 7.5 hours, but I am unsure of the exact time that my wife and I left the lot. Eric was a good salesmen, calm and he frequently updated me on the status of the repairs being made to the car while I waited 15 days, and while I was at the dealership. This is not a review of Eric’s performance, because I felt that he did a great job.
Looking at my car the following day after picking it up from A Better Way Wholesale Autos, I realize that each time I open and close the passenger front door, there is a rubbing sound coming from the fender and passenger door. I waited OVER TWO WEEKS for the dealer to order/install/paint this same exact fender. Not only that, but the fender is badly scratched on the top. I definitely don't believe the fender was painted at all. The fender has no inside liner, which I told the salesman Eric about and the Sales Manager. I informed them both that this is a safety issue because the battery is directly over that area of the car, so if water gets in there, my electrical system could fail, which would lead to the car having serious issues on the way home. Imagine if the battery shut down while I am driving 70 mph with traffic behind me on the highway….accident waiting to happen. Eric told me that the service team brought another [redacted] to the garage to remove the fender liner from that vehicle and place it on my vehicle. He actually told me this twice. On the way to South Carolina, it is raining and my wife and I hear a weird noise coming from the car. I pull into a gas station to check out the fender liner because I used to be a car mechanic and guess what.....The driver side fender liner is now rubbing on the left front tire!!!! [redacted]. This is when I check the passenger side fender liner, which I was told twice was being removed from the other car and placed on mine…NO FENDER LINER on the front passenger side!!! Not only was I lied to about one being installed, but the other one fell down onto the tire while I was driving. Needless to say, when I got home, I ordered two fender liners myself, and which means I had to pay from my own pocket $42.00 for something that I was told was actually done before I left the dealership office. It was after 8PM by the time my wife and I were leaving and we had been there between 7-8 hours, so we were relieved and in a rush to leave. The tire pressure monitor light was on before I drove the vehicle for a test drive. I informed Eric of this and I was told that it is 85% chance the sensor is bad, and the owner does not replace sensors. I actually heard a different salesmen tell another couple this as well. Now while waiting to finalize things upstairs, the rear passenger tire goes COMPLETELY FLAT. I told them there was a problem over 2 hours ago, and they brushed it off, but yet the tire is now flat. What if I had been driving on the highway when this happened? The sales manager said it would be corrected. The service team removed the tire to inspect it and informed Eric that the rim had been welded before, but it was not done properly which lead to the air leak. This should have been discovered prior to me arriving at the dealer to pick up a car that I paid a deposit for the car 15 days ago. In 15 days the air hasn’t leaked out of the tire, but it goes completely flat with 2 hours of me being at the dealership. They SURELY KNEW about this ahead of time. I was told that I could transfer the wheels from the other [redacted] to the one that I had purchased, but I refused and asked that they ship me a new rim of the same size and style that I have on the car. The manager agreed and I have that in writing. The rim was shipped within two weeks, so they kept their word on that end. Also on the way to take my wife back to New York, the car vibrates at highway speeds. Definitely an alignment issue that I was unable to detect during the test drive due to the shortness of highway stretch that I was guided to take by Eric. The sales team actually attempted to charge me for a VIN etch that was not performed. I told Eric to inform the finance team not to write on the check. By the time they allowed me upstairs, Jim had already written on the check from my bank and included the VIN etch fee. I informed him that I would like a new purchase order without the VIN etch fee because it was not done in the 15 days I had been waiting for them to tell me the car is ready, and I refuse to wait until it is done during my visit. He could not rewrite the purchase order without the VIN etch fee because he had already included the fee when he filled out the blank check from my bank and the check can’t be edited, but only voided then I would have to wait on another check from my bank, then return to the dealership. I do not live in Connecticut, so that is not an option for me. I was giving a check request form signed by various members of upper management, which requires the check cutting lady whom does not work on weekends to write me a check for $198 when she returns to work on Monday. I have received the check in the mail, so they kept their word on that part also. Finally when my vehicle returned from another lot after repairing the rim, the DVD navigation disc is no longer in the dash. Without the navigation disc, the GPS will not work. I feel someone removed this, because the message was not on the dash when I test drove the vehicle. I was at the dealership for 7-8 hours, even though I had already had a check from my credit union and knew the car I was picking up 15 ago. I had a purchase order signed by myself and Eric from the 12th of June. I didn’t have to wait on any financing, so the process should not have taken 7-8 hours considering we knew the vehicle that I was purchasing. On a final not we received the car with the GAS EXTREMELY LOW light on the dash board. How rude and unprofessional of them, but I drove to a fuel station ASAP to take care of that myself. Good thing it was raining on the way home, as I now know that the wipers need to be replaced as well. I had to replace them the next day for a total of $25.56. I also have to place oil in the car each weak as the engine sounds unusual and the oil level drops. In conclusion, I was jerked around about the fender liner, the tire, the GPS disc, the VIN etch fee, windshield wipers, and my wife and my time, and now have a car that I have to continuously monitor the oil in each week. I am so DISSAPPOINTED in this wholesale dealership. Be wary of these guys. I have now had to put over $100 into the vehicle that I purchased less than a month ago.

Review: I put a non-refundable $1000 down payment/deposit expecting to have the car I purchased ready to pick up in two or three days. I have been waiting for three weeks and the car is still not ready to be picked up.Desired Settlement: I would like to be compensated for my inconveniences by having a discount, rebate, or something added to the deal (i.e. new tires).

Response:

I am unable to verify the information filed in the complaint. The vehicle was purchased in April and does not look like it has been back for any repairs. All customers are able to test drive the vehicles. There are many times a customer has put a deposit down that is refundable upon final test drive.

Response:

When I was handed dec 2014, I turned on the light in the highway, I respond by saying Well first call to say that the engine light came on. And the sales person in service told me that for the next appointment had to wait a few weeks and had to leave the car, a week they get the new tires had to go to town and buy another fair was damaged rubber. . And they always have an excuse for ensuring the 3 months you get is due. I am rejecting esta response because:

Sincerely,

Review: I sign a contract on 5/6/14 with a amount due of $3184.43. I went back on 5/13/14 to pick up the car expecting the amount due to be $3384.43, I was told to sign another contract with the finance charges on it, stating my annual percentage rate and monthly payments, I was also told that he got me a lower rate and save me a few $100 and I have free oil changes for the life of the car. After getting home I notice the amount due was $4017.23 not the $3184.43.I was charge $795 + $54 in tax for the free oil changes that I was not told I will be charge for since he said it was free nor was I given an option if I wanted it or not, I was just bill for it automatic. Not sure why they would state free oil change if they will charge a fee.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the $849 I was charge for the free oil change I was told I will have, I was never given an option, also because I have no intention to drive that far to use it. Free doesn't mean I should pay a fee for it.

Business

Response:

The customer was clearly explained that there was an oil change for life agreement available on his vehicle and he agreed to the purchase. He was never told that it would be free. He was told the day after delivery that if he didn't want the purchase we would recontract the purchase without the oil change for life charge. The customer never came in, and instead contacted the Revdex.com. Unfortunately, the contract with the bank has already been funded and the refund would have to go to the bank, not the customer. We are still willing to cancel the product, but several facts remain: he signed an agreement, and changed his mind; we offered to recontract the purchase leaving out the oil changes for life amount: no additional contacts were made by the customer with us, so the contract went to the bank and was funded. There can be no refund to the customer, only a payment to the bank, which in effect reduces the amount of principal due.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I was not told about the charge for free oil change nor was I given an option to purchase it or not. The 2nd contract was already printed out before I got there, when I try to read it through he told me don't worry I will explain everything to u afterward and that he save me a few hundreds $ on the interests, my mistake is that I trusted him that my principle due would be the same. After I got home that night I notice he change the principle due from the first contract I sign and notice the extra charge. I did not change my mind because I was never told about it to began with I would had never agree to the extra charges. I call him first thing in the morning to try to resolve this, when I spoke to him he told me there was nothing he could do because I sign the contract and that he save me a lot more than that on my interest, I told him I was planing on paying off the car in a month or two so I don't care about the interests he explain I should have told him that . I told him I want that product cancel and want a refund for the $849 or a payment to the bank to reduce the amount of the principal due, he stated to me that he will look into it but it's highly unlikely that he would do that and said he will call me back in 45 mins but after 6 hours he never call me back, I call him later that afternoon and three times in the next two days but they keep saying that he was busy so I will leave my name and number but he will never call me back which is why I went to the Revdex.com to try to resolve this. I would like a payment to the bank to reduce my principal.

Sincerely,

Harry Espino

Response:

The customer was told that we would redo the contract, but that he would need to come back to resign the contract. He didn't come back to the dealership, nor call. We sent in the original contract because the vehicle was delivered and we needed to be paid.

We also told the customer in our response that we would refund the charge and now have to send it to the bank, but rejected our response. What does the customer want now that is different from what we have already offered?

Review: I went to this business to buy a car listed at $4990 I was told I had to make a downpayment before being able to discuss financing. I put down a $2500 deposit in order to have lower financing costs and that was my entire savings account. once they brought me to the finance department they added on additional fees and handed me a bill for $10,000, significantly more then I was looking to spend. they told us the car would not be ready for at least 3 days. I never signed a contract and we wound up telling them to remove the $2500 warranty they added the $650 gap insurance they added and the financing all together my father was going to loan me the money personally to avoid the additional $700 finance fee. after looking at the reviews online and seeing that this was not a reputable business and has been previously known to do sleazy things I asked for my deposit back. the salesperson told me to talk to the manager. the manager told me it was a non-refundable down payment and that I would not be getting my money back, I threatened to call a lawyer and he said good have them call me and hung up. I never took the car home and only test drove the thing for 5 minutes. shouldn't it be illegal for them to take my money like that?Desired Settlement: I just want my deposit back. I never bought the vehicle they still have it. and they didn't order it for me or anything they already had it sitting in their lot. so I shouldn't have any fees involved here.

Business

Response:

I have faxed a copy of the bill of sale that the customer signed, and initialed acknowledging that the deposit was not refundable, and that the selling price was $4995

I have faxed a copy of the internal deal recap that shows the selling price of $4995.

I have faxed a copy of the DMV registration report that shows where we attempted to register the vehicle to the customer, but he was tax delinquent, and DMV refused to allow the transaction to proceed.

The customer's complaint contains many errors and misstatements: We didn't add on any fees, bringing the total to $10000.

we offered an extended warranty and gap for the financing, that the customer refused.

Due to the customer's poor credit, the bank charged a bank fee of $700, not a Better Way.

The customer did sign a contract to purchase a vehicle. We faxed this contract.

We managed to get his credit approved.

When we were trying to deliver the vehicle to the customer, the DMV computer stopped the transaction because the customer had delinquent taxes. The customer told us they would pay the taxes and come back to pick up the vehicle. He never came back in.

We have handled this entire transaction in good faith from the second the purchase order was signed. The customer agreed to the non refundable deposit because he knew the vehicle was $1000's less that any other vehicle on the market. We prepared the vehicle for delivery, arranged financing, took the vehicle out of our inventory so it couldn't be sold to someone else.

To state that we are not a reputable dealership is absurd. We have delivered over 15,000 vehicles in the past five years, and have a CSI of over 99%.

The only party that isn't acting in a reputable manner, is the customer who agreed to purchase a vehicle, signed an agreement, then changed their mind.

Consumer

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: the second document they have forwarded has no relevance to this case as it is dated 11 days after the transaction. the first document has nothing stating that the initial downpayment was non refundable. it is true I was behind on taxes and could not register the vehicle but the dealership stated that they did not have the vehicle ready to be picked up that day and they did not call me until 3 days later, while they were doing work fixing it as it had several problems they were repairing before it was able to be sold. and as per the contract, the financing person told us they would shred the paperwork until we came back to pick up the vehicle. they stated that they had a shredder and would put the paperwork through there until we were ready to pick the vehicle up and sign. I watched my father rip one of the contracts up. this is unacceptable. I never bought the vehicle they are just stealing my money and claiming its ok. its not ok. I am a disabled veteran commuting to school 50 miles and back 4 days a week attending on my GI bill. without my money I will be unable to continue my semester once my current car fully falls apart. this is a business that claims to support our troops with military posters hanging in its sales room and now they are attempting to steal my entire savings. I was never once told that the deposit was non refundable and there is no reason why they should not refund it seeing as how they have sold the vehicle to someone else according to the second document. I didn't cost them anything. it is nothing but theft. i've contacted my bank to dispute the deposit and contacted a lawyer who already has a case open against this dealership. this kind of theft should not be allowed.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

It is unbelievable that the Revdex.com allows libelous statements that we are thieves be printed. The customer was made aware that the deposit was non refundable. He initialed the section of the order that clearly states the vehicle was being deposited with a non refundable deposit. We held the vehicle specifically for the customer, and he changed his mind. Whether or not the vehicle was sold is meaningless. Why did the customer sign the order next to the spot that clearly says NON REFUNDABLE? He signed it because he wanted us to hold the vehicle for him, because he knew it was thousands less than any other vehicles advertised. We did everything that we agreed to, and held the vehicle, and fixed the vehicle for this customer, and he changed his mind.

I am rejecting this response because: I was told the vehicle would not be ready for three days they did not hold the vehicle for me they fixed it before being able to sell it. Ino one was going to buy it in the condition it was in. Secondly since the vehicle has already sold I did not cost them anything. There is no reason whatsoever why they should be allowed to keepy deposit for a vehicle I never received

Sincerely,

Review: Please buyer beware before purchasing a vehicle.Desired Settlement: I want the door hatch at the back of the car and all repairs as promised repaired by the dealership, because it is a serious safety issue and l cannot drive the car with my child with Autism at the back with an open boot. Please help!

Response:

As soon as we heard from the customer we dispatched a driver with a flatbed trailer from Connecticut to Maryland. The power rear door assist is not a safety item, but rather a convenience item. We explained that to the customer. We asked for the location of the vehicle and sent our driver. After driving 6 hours, the customer was not there! He tried several phone numbers and did not get an answer for 3 hours. The only explanation for this type of behavior is buyers remorse. We finally obtained the vehicle and brought it back to Connecticut. The customer has asked for a partial refund of their deposit.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

When l picked up the vehicle on 08/07/2014 from [redacted], l was never anticipating return the vehicle that l just bought. The State of Connecticut to the State of Maryland is about 16 hours drive round trip, why would the business sent a driver to pick up the vehicle from the State of Maryland if it was not a safety issue?

When the business driver arrived, he saw that my son and l were stucked in the store parking lot, and this was because after putting groceries at the back of the car the trunk would not close. Three male passerby tried to help but it just did not close, then after about an hour a male passerby who was a mechanic used his tool to help close it, and advised me not to drive the car because it was unsafe. This is a safety issue not buyers remorse, and it is unsafe for my family and l to continue to drive in this vehicle and l have requested $1,000 out of my $2,000 downpayment from the business and would prefer not to deal with the business anymore after l receive my money.

Sincerely,

Review: On 12/31/12 I put a deposit on a car at this dealer. They told me the car needed to get as new bumper painted and they would call me at the end of the week with a update. I told [redacted] the salesman that I did not want to wait three weeks for the car to be ready. He assured me it would not take that long. A week passed and I called to check the status of the car and was now told it was still in the shop waiting to get painted and I would get a call back with another update. Now two weeks pass and my wife called and spoke to [redacted] and he informed her the car was getting brakes, timing belt, etc. and hes sorry about the wait and wants to make sure the car is in good sharp before we get it. So now it is Feb 2013 and Still no update so I called and spoke to [redacted] and the manager Bill. They informed me I CANNOT get my deposit back and the car now needs a new engine. Week by week im being told different stories. so now it is March 2013 and I went back down to the lot to see the car sitting there with a broken bumper and a flat tire. Which leaves me to believe that this car has not been getting worked on like they say. At this point they have lost my trust and I feel like I was scammed. All I want is my 1000.00 back for the deposit so I can move on. I feel the lack of follow up and me chasing them down to find answers is poor customer service in all aspects. I no long want that car from them nor any other car. This has been a 3 month issue and I want it to be over.

Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my deposit. I feel I have gone thru enough with this company.

We were unaware that customer wanted their deposit back. We have put 2 engines, and 2 computers in the vehicle. We have tried to send vehicle to body shop on several occasions and have not been able to do so, due to running problems. We have offered to refund deposit, and customer says they still want car??? When it is ready, he can buy vehicle again.

Review: Left a refundable deposit

Which was made clear by the salesman and I

Salesman even crossed out the area where contract said refundable

Salesman agreed to give a refund and is being unaccomadative

When I call people refuse to give me names or their titles

Have yet to receive refund and employees are beyond rudeDesired Settlement: I would simply like my refund as I asked for and as was agreed upon by all parties involved

I have reviewed the complaint. At this time I am unable to find any information with the customer name or phone number indicated. If you could please provide a copy of your purchase order or receipt I will be able to assist you further.

Awful experience I'm convinced they sold me a car with a bad catalic converter which is from what I heard a part that never goes bad and if I does maybe once in a lifetime. My car doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it and I'm now putting its third catalic converter. Not even two months into purchasing the car we had to get it replaced and they did a bad job welding so I had to take it else where. A little over a year later I'm paying 1000$ to have another one put it but we purchased a 3000$ extended warranty that I was told covers pretty much everything except break pads? But they failed to mention the catalic converter wasn't covered either. I'm convinced they sold us the car with a bad one and dodnt tell us. Because what are the chances of a part that very rarely goes bad goes bad not even two months after purchase. I will never but a recap from here again. And I believe they should have to reimburse us for the 1000$ we have to pay because they put in a sy aftermarket part.

When this vehicle was purchased from A BETTER WAY WHOLESALE AUTOS on 10/10/2014,

I was informed that the vehicle was in mint condition. However the day the vehicle was purchased, a oil smell was detected. I immediately informed the business and the vehicle was brought in for inspection. In short, this vehicle was brought back to the business approximately 6 times and the issues remains unresolved. This business previously stated that the issues presented were nonexistent. When this vehicle was purchased, an extended warranty was also purchased. However, I have been told that these issues will not be covered and the warranties are not be honored. In conclusion, my complaint is that there are several issues with this vehicle is not being resolved are numerous attempts and the car being in there possession for days at a time. I would like my vehicle to be fixed 100% at their expense at a different businessDesired Settlement: Prior to this vehicle being purchased, I was informed that the vehicle was in mint condition. However the day the vehicle was purchased, an oil smell was detected. I immediately informed the business and the vehicle was brought in for inspection. This business previously stated that the issues presented were nonexistent. At each visit, I was told that they were unable to figure out where the oil smell was coming from. When the other issues were presented they either attempted to fix them without success or simply ignored my request and report. This vehicle was brought back to the business approximately 6 times in the few months it has been owned and the issues remains unresolved. This is absolutely ridiculous as well as an inconvenience. This business is over an hour from my home and I willingly make the trip there to have the vehicle repaired as these issues were all present when purchased. When the vehicle is with this business for repairs it is there for days at a time and the communication from the business is poor. On multiple occasions, the car was not fixed in the anticipated time and when I would call or go in person to check on it, it would not be fixed. Again, this is an inconvenience, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. When this vehicle was purchased, an extended warranty was also purchased in addition to the 30 day warranty that came with the car. This is also an issue because under their terms a car over $5000 is to be given a 60 day warranty and I was not provided with this. Regardless, the issues were presented to this business within the first 30 days and should have been fixed or I should have been compensated immediately. However, I have been told that these issues will not be covered and the warranties are not be honored. During the last two visits and during several conversations, I was told that the wanted me to pay half of the costs to fix the vehicle which is absurd. If the vehicle was sold "as is", this would not be a debate or complaint. However, I feel the business should be held 100% responsible for repairing damages and issues that they were aware of when selling the vehicle. I would also like to note that on paperwork regarding the repairs of the vehicle the odometer reading from the time the vehicle comes until it leaves remains the same. This makes me question whether action was truly being made to diagnosis and repair the vehicle. In conclusion, my complaint is that there are several issues with this vehicle that is not being resolved after numerous attempts and the car being in there possession for days at a time. I would like my vehicle to be 100% at their expense.

Response:

I have reviewed your sales and service file. The vehicle purchased was a 2004 [redacted] with over 100,000 miles. Due to the vehicle age and usage it is going to have items that have wear and tear. All of the concerns that you came into the service department for were addressed. The warranty is usually for when there is a complete failure of one of the covered components. They do not usually cover when a part is making noise or has normal wear. And in regards to the repairs that you requested that were not covered by the dealer warranty we offered to help you by splitting a portion of the bill with you. Also if you feel that the warranty is not of value to you I can assist you with trying to cancel it. If there is a refund available it will be applied to your loan balance.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I am fully aware that this vehicle is a 2004 with over 100, 000 miles at the time of purchase. However, when purchasing this vehicle it was stated that this vehicle was in great condition and was reliable. There was no discussion of significant wear and tear, if so this vehicle should have been sold as is, if the issues presented were normal and unfixable. Instead, I was assured that this vehicle was in great condition which is false advertising. In addition, prior to taking this vehicle off the lot there was a delay due to mechanical work being done which allowed me to believe that any and all issues were being resolved. All issues were not resolved then or on the multiple occasions the car was in their possession for repair for weeks at a time. During my last attempt with this business the manager was away for a week and I received the run around for that time as if I was been avoided. I have been told that the manager has driven my car to his home to check for noises/issues however the odometer reading on the documentation never indicates a change. The business has indicated in their response that the warranty does not cover issues besides a complete failure of a part. This was not clearly explained or detailed in the warranty I was provided with. To my understanding the warranty that came with the vehicle as well as the extended warranty would cover all issues 100% that may arise with the vehicle. Therefore I am not satisfied with this response or the fact that I have purchased a warranty that offers no assistance for all the issues presented regardless if they are due to wear and tear. These issues were present and reported immediately upon purchase which means if the vehicle was properly inspected by the business and the business was conducting honest sales, these issues would have been fixed and/or discussed before purchase. Therefore I would have been knowledgeable and could have purchased a different car or willingly got this car "as is". Instead I was given promises of a good vehicle which was not true. I do not want a refund of the warranty, I am still requesting that my vehicle be repaired 100% at the expense of the business. at a different business

Review: On 4/5/14 my husband & I went into A Better Way to purchase a vehicle. We sat with [redacted] & throughout the entire sales process we expressed an immediate need for the vehicle. We were shown 2 vehicles & ultimately decided on a 2004 [redacted] Aviator. We were told that the vehicle needed to be serviced & paperwork needed to be completed & we would be contacted when we can pick up the vehicle. We left a $1000 deposit & signed the partial paperwork, but we were told that if the paperwork didn't go through, we would be able to get our money back. Once we got home & reviewed the paperwork, we noticed that there was no bank information filled, no loan amount, no monthly payment amount. At that point we became suspicious & contacted [redacted] requesting a return of the deposit. He informed us that he would have to speak to his manager because the deposit is non refundable. I asked to speak with the manager myself. The gentleman that came on the line never introduced himself stated his name, but said he was the general manager. He did; however inform us that the vehicle that we selected is owned by a bank & they have not yet paid the lien off. I ask him how is he selling a vehicle that he doesn't own & he didn't answer, but chose to call me names & attack my character instead. I informed him that I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com & contacting my bank to dispute the charge. He responded by telling me how he has never lost in court & if I'm going to report him he doesn't want to continue the conversation.Desired Settlement: I simply want a refund of the $1000 deposit that I put on the vehicle considering this vehicle never should have been up for sale in the first place.

I have reviewed the complaint filed my Ms. [redacted]. I have also reviewed the sales documents for her transaction. I can not speak for what other dealerships have told Ms. [redacted]. I was able to pull the vehicle history with no issues. The vehicle was originally from [redacted] and resold in the ** back in 2011. At that time a new title was issued by the [redacted] Department of Motor Vehicle. After speaking with the sales staff and sales managers I found out that Ms. [redacted] did in fact speak with one of our sales associates, [redacted] informed me that Ms. [redacted] told him about the issue and assured her that we would absolutely take the vehicle in on trade. Ms. [redacted] refused and said she would be contacting her attorney. If Ms. [redacted] would like to trade the vehicle in to us we would be more than glad to accept. Review: I made a deal to purchase a used 2011 [redacted] F-150 from the dealership. I put down a $1000 deposit (paid with credit card), which they told me was non refundable and I am paying cash. (no financing) It has been a week since the deal was made and the dealership still will not give me the vehicle. They stated it needed to be safety checked, emissions done and then detailed. The sales man ([redacted]) told me on Tuesday February 25, the day the deal was reached, he would have the vehicle ready for me that Friday or Saturday. He told me on Saturday the car was still not done and maybe Monday it would be. Monday he told me the vehicle is still not done and maybe Tuesday it would be. He refuses to be definitive on when I can receive the vehicle. He constantly uses words like "try" "maybe" "hopefully" . How long can the dealership hold my deposit and not give me the vehicleDesired Settlement: I would like for the dealership to allow me to finish purchasing the vehicle instead of dragging it out, or give me my deposit back in full

Review: At 'A better way wholesale auto' they have the worst possible customer service I have ever seen. The ambiance is completely unwelcoming and unprofessional. I felt like I was in the harlem subway in newyork. It was a monday saturday morning when I stumbled upon a Bmw 3 series online for a good price compared to other dealerships. I ran the carfax and everything seemed okay, I even called the place and verified 30 minutes prior to going to see if the car was still available. A salesperson picked up and answered the phone like if I was a friend of his and after 10 minutes verified with me that the car was in stock. I finally arrive after an 2 hour long drive and walk in the place, for 5 minutes I was standing around looking at people joking around, eating and watching tv. Finally! a salesman dressed in street clothes approaches me saying "whatup what you want" I tell him I was there to get the bmw and he goes "finance or buy" I said finance and told him my credit score of 780 but I told him not to send my credit to the banks because that would be a hard inquiry. he swore up and down it would be a soft inquiry to my credit. so I said okay. after doing so he goes "it came up good, we can get you in" So now it's time to test drive the car and "car was sold 2 days ago!!!!" now im really mad and left the place after being there for an hour. 2 weeks later I check my credit and im down 22 points with 2 hard inquiries.. they ran my credit twice on two different days!! not only did they lie about the car being in stock, bad service and brought down my credit!!! I called and they cant do anything about it. I am so upset with this dealership. I wouldnt buy a new 2014 car there even if it was being sold for $1,000Desired Settlement: hard inquiries to be taken of my credit history.

Response:

Our dealership is unlike any other dealership in Connecticut. We are the largest dealership in Connecticut. We have delivered over 15000 vehicles in the past 5 years. You can't deliver that many vehicles wearing a suit. All our employees are trained to help customers, and to treat them as friends. I am sorry if the customer was offended by our atmosphere, but we have the lowest prices in New England and run at a very fast pace. People have returned to us with family members and friends over and over, and can't believe how busy we are. The people that the customer saw eating snacks and watching TV were customers, not salespeople.

We are obtaining the form to remove the credit application from history and will contact the customer when it is complete.

Review: My daughter bought a car from them a week ago. The place is very dishonest, and is run very poorly. They made her wait in the waiting room 3.5 hours for the car once all paperwork was done. They claimed they had to fix a few things before they gave it to her. When she finally got in the car, it was filthy, they never detailed it like they promised, there were full cans of beer in the trunk, and crumbs everywhere. They never went over the paperwork with her, they handed her a paper tag, and told her the plates and registration would come in the mail. Still waiting. They only gave her a valet key, so she is unable to lock the doors. The key only works in the ignition. the manager Cam, promised her he ordered her a key fob and it would be there thursday, when we called on thursday, we were told that was Cams day off, and the secretary said she doesn't see that any key was ordered. When we called again this morning, they were very rude, and Cam claimed he never said he was going to order a key, This business is very crooked, they are selling too many cars, and not following up on Customer Service. If you read all their reviews on line, its all the same stories. This business really needs to be shut down before any other victims fall for their shenanigans, and get ripped off. I have a feeling This is the only the beginning of the problems we are about to face with this car and this business. Please help, we feel as consumers , very defeated and helpless by this crooked business. thank you, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for the money we had to lay out to have car detailed, and a key fob for the car. and an apology for being treated very poorly by this business.

Response:

I have reviewed the complaint filed by Mrs. [redacted]. I have also spoke with the sales representative, finance manager and sales manager. Mrs. [redacted]s daughter took delivery of a vehicle from A Better Way on July 20, 2015. Our finance department knows and understands that some of the paperwork can be overwhelming. Due to their awareness of this they are patient and explain everything very thoroughly. As for the registration, the customer lives in [redacted] and we can not process [redacted] registrations same day, which is why we issue a temporary plate. The other issue was a misunderstanding about the key. Mrs. [redacted] was under the impression that they vehicle needed a new key, however that was not the case. Kam tried to explain to Mr.s [redacted] that it was not the key that needed replacement, but was the tumbler. Since this is not a part that is commonly in stock, it needed to be ordered. Once it was received we scheduled Mrs. [redacted]'s daughter to come in that Saturday 7/25/15.
