The vehicle had a problem difficult to figure out. The consumer received a 50% discount on the work that was already completed. He accepted the offer and took his car.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/11/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The shop sold the items to others at this price, the price also listed that the item was available for backorder. I want to purchase the items at the advertised price.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2014/12/08) */
We have contacted the customer and a $25 gift card has been sent to the customer.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2014/12/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I want to purchase the items with my own money. I'm not asking for anything free. The it was advertised on the site as well as internet banner ads. When I saw this I spent time collecting sizes for the recipients. I contacted 3 people, they looked up sizes of the recipient's coats, and are now expecting these as gifts from me. The business should honor their advertised price.

On 10/23/13, [redacted] called our business regarding a transmission problem with his 1997 Pontiac.  It wouldn't move.  Per his request, we towed the vehicle to our shop.  Since we were (at that time) dealing over the phone, [redacted] provided the last four digits of his SSN# as an authorization to tow the vehicle to our shop, and check it out.
On 10/28/13. [redacted] came into our shop and made a partial pre-payment of $800.00 to be applied toward the removal/disassembly/and internal inspection of his transmission (all of which would be applied toward the repair cost.  I've included a copy of the reciept for this payment, which he personally signed.
On 11/07/13, [redacted] finally authorized the actual transmission repair.  He provided us with his birthdate of 05/02/91 in lieu of a signature, since we were dealing over the phone.  AT that point, he assured us he would pick up his vehicle and pay in full by 12/07/13. (copy enclosed).  On 11/20/13, I called [redacted] since we had received no additional payments to date, and repairs had been completed.  [redacted] then advised us that he couldn't uphold his promise to pay in full by 12/07/13, Instead he'd pay 1/2 of the remaining balance in 3 weeks and the remainder 2 weeks after that.  He had just started another job.  The total due at that time was $1959.36.
Finally, on 12/20/13, [redacted] again walked into our shop and paid only $300.00 toward his bill and also signed as acknowledgement of his new balance and his agreement to have the remaining balance paid in full within 2 weeks from that date.  His promise of payment in full still remains, unfulfilled.
On 07/15/14, our company sent [redacted] a certified letter with a final demand for payment in full (including accrued storage charges) or we would file for title of the vehicle.
As you can see, much detail of this transaction has been documented (including proof, [redacted]'s signature, that [redacted] did indeed come into our shop and authorize repairs, despite his assertion that "I never went to the shop and signed anything".

[redacted] came in on 6-12-2015. We replaced her manifold catalytic converter . She came back with the same issue of a cracked manifold converter on 11-2-2015. There was excessive play in the engine. We advised her she needs all new mounts. She said she will replace all mounts at a different...

location. She came back with all new mounts except one. This one mount was the most difficult to replace and probably was not replaced due to this fact. We told her to warranty the work and to replace the manifold catalytic converter we needed all new mounts so that she would not have this issue again. We have not heard from her since.                                                               Sincerely, Nirmal  T[redacted]  Pres Star Valley , Inc. DBA Aamco of Lanham

Dear [redacted],We fixed a leak in the top part of the cooling system when the customer first came in. The second time we repaired the thermostat housing. This car has been worked on previously and the repairs were done incorrectly . The gasket were incorrectly installed and silicone was used ....

Silicone is not used in this application. The cooling system is composed of numerous components and when the weakest link is fixed another component may show an issue. After fixing the thermostat housing we ran the car for over four hours . We drove the car many miles and let the car run in the parking lot while monitoring for leak issues. I was surprised when the customer called back and complained of an overheat problem. This time it was an overheating problem unlike previously when it was a coolant leak problem. At this time the water pump has failed. This is a major repair where the front of the motor has to come off and the timing chain components would need to be replaced along with the water pump. Aamco offered a steeply discounted price for this repair but the customer declined.                                                                     Sincerely, Nirmal * T[redacted]                                                           Pres. Star Valley Inc, DBA Aamco of Lanham

I am sorry to hear you are disappointed.
I am researching your visits as many of them have been breathalyzer related.  Breathalyzer and prolonged payments have somewhat complicated the research.  I have found your comment of the vehicle being unable to start was not related to nor...

suggested to repair the thermostat replacement.  The thermostat repair was unrelated, not to mention, it appears we made considerable goodwill adjustments in the repair costs.  I wll follow up with more of the details as I am out of town for a short period and I would like to explain the details of each repair. As always, thanks for your patronage,
Craig

Our published delivery deadlines are 06:00 am Monday-Friday and 07:00 am Saturday and Sunday.  These deadlines were established years ago based on our company's business processes.  We are not able to meet Mr. [redacted]'s expectations of a 05:30 am delivery deadline.  Credit has been...

applied to Mr. [redacted]'s account for 42 "missed" days since April.  In each instance, a Florida Times-Union representative confirmed a newspaper had been delivered on or before our company's deadline.  Members of our [redacted] have documented conversations where Mr. [redacted] was informed of our company's delivery deadlines and our inability to deliver at 05:30 am.  We are not able to meet Mr. [redacted]'s expectations of a 05:30 am delivery deadline.  We are willing to offer an additional two weeks' credit for the alleged misrepresentation by our contracted sales staff, but only with the understanding that our delivery deadlines are 06:00 am Monday-Friday and 07:00 am Saturday and Sunday.

We Have tried to resolve the complaint with the customer by offering to replace the part at no charge but she is not willing to bring the vehicle back, and will refund customer for the labor repair.

MY Money Was REFUNDED FROM AAMCO ON SAT MARCH 21,2015. THANK YOU

Aamco of Salem did rebuild the transmission in Mr. [redacted] honda, with a 12 month 12 thousand mile warranty. In April of 2013.  The transmission was repaired once under that warranty as he states.   He did return again in August of 2014, unfortunately the car was out of warranty by both...

time and mileage.  As a  customer service gesture, Aamco of Salem did offer to repair the transmission at a discounted price, however Mr. [redacted] declined the offer.

thank you

The customers furnace is producing CO levels in the flue above the manufactures specifications. Airtron recommends the customer schedule a reputable HVAC contractor to perform a complete CO analysis of the furnace. We understand that customers have choices when selecting a Service Provider and are...

disappointed that we could not provide a satifictory solution. We have agreed to refund the customers CC in the amount of $89. This process could take up to a week to complete.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/10/15) */
First of all the vehicle was never parked illegally as Ms. [redacted] as stated on the complaint. It was $83.00 for 2 hr parking limit violation. The rest was for $171 was penalty after ticket was sent to the We did not see the ticket hence...

did not notify Ms. [redacted] and Ms. [redacted] did not respond.Nevertheless we did contact Ms. [redacted] and notified her we would gladly reimburse the ticket she received while the vehicle was in our possession. We did send a check out for $83.00 on 9/6/2014, which was what the ticket was written for but the address we have on file must be incorrect because the mail was returned. But regardless we are willing to take care of the $83.00 ticket. We have left two messages to Ms. [redacted] on the phone # we have on file and have not gotten any response in regards to the check. She is welcome to come and pick up a check. It is waiting for her in the returned envelop.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/10/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am not willing to accept $83.00 from A amco because they are fully responsible for the ticket. My car was illegally parked Ammco is negligent and should reimburse me for the full amount of the parking violation. The total amount is $ 254.00. My vehicle was left in A amco possession while being repaired. Ammco should have not parked my vehicle on a public street. I will accept only the full. Amount of the violation for $254.00. A amco was aware of my P.o Box address change per phone conversation. I have never received a check. I never agreed on the amount of $83.00 as a settlement to this complaint.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/10/23) */
Ms. [redacted] is being a little unreasonable. You can't expect us to pay for penalty when we are not aware that you have received a ticket. We will pay for the original ticket of $83.00 but if you wait after the parking dpt. sends you several notice and accrue penalty and contact us the penalty would be your responsibility. Since you did not notify AAMCO when you received the notice from the parking dpt. the first time. When we spoke a few months ago we came to an agreement and I told her The check was going to be sent out the following day which it was sent out the following day. Now she is claiming we did not agree? You know We tried to help Ms. [redacted] with her repair of her vehicle when she had a finance problem and needed time to pay for it and had the car here for more than a month and we didn't charge her storage, and took payments just make the process less stressful, we try to help people in need when necessary and she knows that. We would not object to it if this was a reasonable request.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/10/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I am very dissatisfied with the handling of this matter with AAmco. As stated before I was not aware of the parking violation. I am very greatful for the repair that was done on my vehicle from Aamco. My complaint is the customer service not the repairs. I am very unclear why my vehicle was iilegally parked while being repaired at their location. Also I never agreed on a settlement of $83.00 as a resolution. Aamco is being very unreasonable and very dishonest. I am requesting to be rembursed for the full amount of $ 254.00.

I am rejecting this response because:

as I stated before any other business that has a typographical error on their website or in their store would be more than happy to honor the price since it was a mistake on their end. So if they are not willing to give me the jacket for the place that was stated on the website that I take that is false advertising and I will not ever shop at their stores or on their website ever again.I think if people start suing companies like this for false advertisement that maybe they would change their mind.

First of all [redacted] is no longer the owner. [redacted] sold the business on November 17, 2014. Please update your site and change the...

new owner to [redacted], President.
On February 19th, 2015 AAMCO of Merced performed a free multi point check and brake inspection. found at completion of inspections tech found brake system codes in computer. Diagnostic procedure lead to brake fluid being low no brake fluid leaks were found tech did find all brake pads worn done to 5% left. AAMCO Merced recommended front and rear brake pads. Front and rear rotors were in good condition and in specs. Tech also recommended transmission service for preventive maintenance. Our Customer, [redacted] authorized the repairs and services stated above. After repairs vehicle brake system was back to normal upon final test drive. Vehicle was delivered to customer on February 19th, 2015 @ 12:47PM. Customer [redacted] accidently was not charge for labor on front brake service, AAMCO of Merced did not try to collect on that labor. On September 30, 2015 @ 2:45PM customer [redacted] brought vehicle back to Merced because the brakes were squeaking when applied of course, customer was offered free brake inspection which he authorized upon the free brake inspection tech again found front brake pads worn down to 5%. Tech reported no obvious reason why the pads were extremely worn down again. I [redacted] the CSM at this location recommended that we upgrade the front brake pads at no charge. Due to front pads wearing down again, customer was advised and authorized replacement of front premium rotors, customer was charged for rotors only Upon releasing vehicle to customer, customer was advised to bring vehicle back in one month to perform another brake inspection because brake pad wearing down was unexplainable. AAMCO Merced did not here from customer until November 13, 2015. Customer called on telephone that MIDAS had found that the front brake pads were installed incorrectly. Evidently Midas stated that the front brake pad indicator was located on the outside of Brake caliper instead of the original position of inner front brake caliper. Customer requested refund of work order # XXXXXX of $218.59 at that time I [redacted] told him that the owner was not in to coffer with and I told him I would call him back. I [redacted] called customer back a few days later the date and time of phone call was not recorded I [redacted] told customer because the brakes were still under warranty with the AAMCO of Merced in order to resolve this issue I would have to have the car back to me after that check was completed we would have been able to resolve this matter with customer, customer refused. Customer cannot assume that AAMCO Merced will pay for repairs done at another facility especially that the brake system was still under warranty at AAMCO Merced.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2016/01/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Brakes were not repaired at the other facility. When I took the car back to AAMCO they charged an additional charge to repair the collateral damage caused by the improperly installed brake pads and reinstalled them in the wrong position for a second time. In order to do that they had to be forced. I was a master aircraft mechanic and since I am disabled, senior I am no longer able to perform this type of repairs. I was targeted, this is safety equipment not just anyone can perform and it was done wrong from the beginning.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 18, 2016/01/25) */
This is going to be our last response to this matter. If vehicle has not been repaired, please have [redacted] bring vehicle back to AAMCO of Merced for warranty repair or free brake inspection. If vehicle has been repaired by someone other than Merced AAMCO, our warranty coverage with [redacted] is now voided. Therefore Merced AAMCO can not be held responsible for refunds or repairs.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 20, 2016/01/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I took the vehicle to them twice for repairs and their maintenance caused damage to the car. When I said previously they contacted me they were actually two hang up calls they never intended to place. I called them and they hung up on me. Bullying and intimidation technics Ito discourage. I never expected that I would get any satisfaction from using the Revdex.com, you have no teeth, if you show the picture I sent to NTSB they would know immediately that the breaks on that car were destined for catastrophic failure on the highway. Whoever certified Merced AAMCO to perform such critical work on public transportation should also be investigated. I won't take this vehicle back to them, I've already taken it to them twice and was charged both times for work that was improper and failed. It's easy for them to say we'll do it right the third time around and they won't get a chance like that from me again, they are not trustworthy and until they do the right thing and provide a refund I will never accept the resolution. I have several vehicles that require routine maintenance and I'm glad I found out about them, I'll look elsewhere for reputable mechanics that have higher standards.

Inclement weather delayed the repairs this pasted winter. The
homeowner was asked to notify us once they were ready to have the issues
corrected.  After receiving this notification
a call was conducted with Ms. [redacted] on 06-11-2015. A conference call is scheduled
for Thursday 06-18-2015 to...

review all the needed repairs to the home and issue
a work order.
Thank You,
[redacted].

We are very sorry Mr [redacted] is having trouble with his vehicle. While we stand behind our work and strive for 100% customer satisfaction, im not sure how this problem relates to the work we did, as that work was done in June of 2016, over a year ago. Further, letting a vehicle...

run or idle isnt harmful to it in any wayI would sure be willing to discuss this with Mr [redacted], or anyone from the Revdex.com, or we would be willing to give a discount on the repairs needed.     Thank you Kurt W[redacted]
