Mr. [redacted] has a full parts and labor warranty on the wheel bearing that we replaced.  If there is any issue with the wheel bearing we will replace it free of charge.  If it's more convenient we have another location in [redacted] where we could replace the wheel bearing if necessary. ...

I also left a phone message for Mr. [redacted] to call me yesterday in which I stated I would resolve this issue for him.  I have never heard back from him.Thank you[redacted]PresidentHenley Transmissions DBA AAMCO Transmissions?

The customer has been contacted and we are resolving with the customer.

The customer brought a 1962 Chevrolet which had a burnt transmission from towing a 5000lbs trailer. The truck was not designed to tow that much. We performed a conversion of the transmission to a type that is designed to tow that much weight. Conversions on old trucks takes a lot of time...

because some parts have to be made. Many of the leaks on this old truck is oil leaks from the top of the engine running down. We also performed about a 1000.00 dollars worth of free work as to keep the customer happy like wiring a into the truck an electrical kick-down switch and a variety of other work that was not charged. The truck is old and is not designed for what he is trying to do. 60 year old vehicles have a different standard than modern cars and leaks are common with well maintained trucks. Unfortunately the customer thinks we are responsible for replacing everything because he paid 4100.00. Customers have paid 8000 for conversions and 50,000 for complete restorations. Again this is a different standard in local repair shops....both time and money.

Dear [redacted] can come and get a refund for both times we fixed her coolant leak issues. The total refund would be $1230.                                           Sincerely, Nirmal * T[redacted]                                            Pres.,  Star Valley Inc. DBA Aamco of Lanham

I will not spend any more money until I receive a copy of the rental car receipt and my cash deposit I payed so the cust. could get the rental car. Thank you.

After a recent car accident we tried to deal with the "other guys" insurance. After one week we gave up! They had done nothing. We call our agents, The Martin Insurance Agency, they were fantastic! While we were on the phone with them a rental car was provided, they answered every question promptly and were always available to us.

[redacted] was the greatest, most patient person we could hope to deal with.

We have been customers of theirs for many years, it's for sure we will be for many years more.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. When I took the car in on 4/4 I never once mentioned that the transmission was slipping.  I only described the noise I was hearing, explained I'd been driving with it for a couple of months and was encouraged to get it checked as it might be problematic.  That's why I took it to AAMCO in the first place.  When [redacted] called me early Friday afternoon, they had only done an external inspection that he told me everything looked fine.  He said they had road tested the car and heard what I had described. NOTHING was mentioned about a wheel bearing problem until I picked up the car, paid for it, and was walking out the door when [redacted] comment began....Oh by the way.  They did NOT confirm a transmission problem until Monday morning when they called me to tell me they determined it had overheated and needed $2500 worth of parts and labor.  It was at this point that he insisted he needed my approval to start repair.  I told him I was walking on a busy street, couldn't hear him clearly and would have to call back.  Again the comment of needing to start repair.  When I called him back and he reiterated the parts and labor list, I told him I had to call back again after determining how I was going to pay for it.  Again I was pressured for approval because as he said, "The car is on a lift and we need to start repair on it".  When I called back the third time we discussed financing and that was when I decided how I was going to pay for it.  I then approved the work that I was told was necessary and understood that would cure the noise problem I took the car in to them in the first place. It is a lie that AAMCO would state that I took the car in for a wheel bearing problem.  As I have said before, the actual words "wheel bearing problem" were never mentioned until [redacted] said them as I was leaving after paying for the car and it was a by the way.  When I asked about the severity of a wheel bearing problem, he also said it would cost $200 to repair.  If I DID bring the car in for a wheel bearing problem I would never have asked to have the transmission checked and put myself purposely in a position to spend $2500 I didn't have if the problem could be fixed for $200.  In their response, AAMCO has completely misrepresented the truth.
Regards,[redacted]

I went to Aamco they were so helpful and easy to work with, told all wrong with my car and gave the information I needed to fix my car,at fair prices,I will definaltly tell people about them.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID...

[redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Revdex.com spoke to consumer and the following was relayed: The car is not fixed. The issues are still there. They did provide a rental car while they took mine back. To have the diagnostic done at the Lexus dealer it will cost $160. Attached is a copy of a letter provided by the auto dealer the vehicle was purchased from.

My garage door broke last week and the company I purchased it from no longer does garage doors, they told me to call Stewart Overhead doors so I did. Even though it was late in the afternoon the receptionist said they should be able to get to me the next day. They came in the PM of that day, the service man was very helpful and had the job completed in about 30 minutes. I was told that the service people didn't handle the invoicing which made me nervous, but the bill came today. Fast efficient service and the bill was very reasonable, I give them two thumbs up!

To whom it may concern,Mrs. M[redacted]'s chrysler minivan came into our shop with axle seal leaks.  We replaced both axle seals,  which would normally be an easy fix.  Unfortunately on this vehicle,  the passenger side axle leak didn't get fixed on the first attempt.  On the...

second visit to our shop we confirmed that the passenger side was indeed still leaking. We also noticed that someone had replaced both axles prior to us working on the vehicle for the first time.  Replacement axles can have a huge impact on whether or not an axle seal will seal properly.Things like vibration,  surface imperfections,  machining of seal surface,  and retaining clip are a few examples of things that can cause an axle seal to not seal properly.  Mrs. M[redacted] was made aware of this,  and she was informed that if the axle seal continued to leak she will need to return to whoever replaced her axles and get the passenger side warrantied out.  The axle seal did leak again,  but the M[redacted]s are unwilling to follow our recommendation.  They just want money. The vehicle was damaged when it arrived here.  Not only did we document it on their diagnostic form,  we also rewound our video tapes to the time the vehicle was brought into the shop and the video shows that it clearly was already damaged prior to us working on it.Unfortunately,  they parked the vehicle off of our property when they dropped it off,  so I cannot see in our surveillance system whether or not it was damaged prior to dropping it off.  I suppose it's possible that someone from one of the other businesses in the general vicinity could've hit the van,  but we will never know because they parked it in front of someone else's business outside of the viewing area of our surveillance system. The damage has nothing to do with this claim.  We have already established thru our video that the damage did not happen as a result of our negligence.  So that leaves the repeat leak.  The axle seal is under warranty.  The M[redacted]s have not even brought the vehicle back so we can confirm that it is even still leaking.  They just want money.  If they bring the vehicle back so we can confirm it,  we can either fix it here,  or they can bring it to one of our other locations to be repaired under warranty. If they do return to get the leak fixed,  we will need proof that the passenger side axle has been replaced before we put another seal in.We cannot continue replacing seals for free when a customer ignores our recommendations. The original seal leaked after axle replacement(at a different shop).  The first seal that we installed leaked,  and the second replacement seal is also leaking.  It doesn't take a specialist to determine that something else is causing the leak.Thank You,Ron K[redacted]Manager,  AAMCO Surprise

[thank you for agreeing to fix the vehicle. Unfortunately my car was in your shop from January to May 2016 with the vehicle only being in my possession a total of 11 days.  AAMCO had contracts with [redacted],  as I have receipts from them for the time the car was with you,  the last occasion April to May I was forced to pay for that rental at no fault of my own.  The car was brought to AAMCO in January 2016 and still exhibits the exact same problem. I cannot be without a car, and I cannot incur a rental cost, especially with the proven history that the car was with AAMCO for 5 months. From February to April AAMCO did put me in a rental at no charge,  since we are still dealing with the same issue I ask that they put me in another rental. I should not have to pay for a job that still exists, nor should I be without a car for weeks on end. Thank you.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/10/29) */
The customer was told on the chat discussion thread that it was a pricing error on the web and was given our pricing error disclaimer. We called her today and offered to sell her the boots at our cost. She declined the offer.

Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/10/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Regardless of the disclaimer the ad continued for more than 24 hours no one did anything to remove it and I have proof of that. Regardless if it was offered to me at company cost the company is still lying to patrons and not having to suffer any consequences for it. No apology was given no explanation all there was was a comment on how there was a mistake and this is what they could do. I feel as a consumer that the company thinks that it is okay for them to make mistakes not correct them and have someone call and say hey here is what we have. The company won't even take the blame for their mistake.

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2014/11/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Yes online how about when I got the phone call? I was just told well its a mistake and the lady moved on with the conversation. Obviously I know what the chat sad because I had already posted it on here so what is it that you people have to say now?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.A week or so prior to taking my car to AAMCO I had visited [redacted] and [redacted] in Mesa, for various repair work.  None of them recommended immediate repair work on my transmission.  However, I was told of a minor leak but that it was not an urgent repair need. After visiting AAMCO and being told that there would be an additional charge of $1500 to reassemble my transmission, I left to consult with a senior service advisor at [redacted] and also the manager/owner at [redacted] regarding my options. Both recommended that I ask AAMCO to reassemble the transmission without charge or put the parts in a box and take the car to [redacted].  So I called the [redacted] owner and discussed the situation and to repair my transmission and we agreed to have my car towed to [redacted].  I went to AAMCO and told them that [redacted] would tow the car and asked them to place the parts in a box.  At this point [redacted]/AAMCO, waived the $375 inspection fee.The next day [redacted] called me to report missing parts and I called [redacted]/AAMCO and told him about it and he said, there was nothing missing.  So I called [redacted] and asked them to call AAMCO direct to discuss the missing parts.  After 30-45 minutes, [redacted]/AAMCO called me to say they found the missing parts and has contacted [redacted] to pick them up and thanked [redacted].  I then called [redacted] and the manager confirmed receipt of the missing parts from AAMCO.I paid $1600 by cashiers check, for the [redacted] repair work. Because the initial work as described by AAMCO, was not required or needed, I feel misled or deceived by AAMCO.  Therefore, I am asking for reimbursement from AAMCO of the associated costs of the transmission repair that had to be done by [redacted] and also be reimbursed for rental car expenses during that period.I called [redacted]/AAMCO to reimburse me for these expenses and told him that I wanted this resolved between us and that I would make a complaint to the Revdex.com, call the tv network for an investigative resolution. Regards,[redacted]

aamco did refund my money after attempting a repair to the firewall they damaged.  It was at the end stage of the repair that they noticed this hole and their attempts to fix the issue damaged it further. If their insurance company doesn't feel it is their fault what is the harm of providing the information.

As previously stated, my 'business' with the complaintants was concluded with full refund and they signed for receipt of their vehicle after an in-person inspection with a an uninvited person of a mechanical capacity.  If the complaintants felt that damage had been done to their vehicle, their recourse at the time would have been to call the police alleging criminal wrong-doing.  They are now within their rights to allege civil wrong doings and I am prepared to respond their litigation and allegations in a court of law.
