Harassing and Unethical Sales Practices I moved into my new home July 28th In the past weeks I have had "visits" from Sales associates and Relocation specialist All of which were told we're not interested All of which telling my month pregnant wife and I that we moved into a "pretty bad area" and that there's been multiple break ins, in the last couple of days All of which are untrue [redacted] is one of the safest regions in the state I find their sales practices to be unethical and harassing On a personal note, it's difficult enough to keep a pregnant wife happy, I don't need a company intentionally trying to make her paranoid I wouldn't do business with ADT if they paid me for their services

Three weeks ago I contacted ADT to inquire about changing the passcode on my (Non ADT) alarm systemThe representative (supposed supervisor), explained that there was $fee associated to tech coming to my home to assist, but he was going to send me a $Visa card to offset this chargeMy question to him was, "why would ADT do this for free?"His response was, "it is so we can offer you more products and service while in the home"I explained that I would entertain the idea of having a monitored service, but for the time being, I just wanted a passcode changeHe agreed and an appointment was scheduled Upon the arrival of the tech and trainee, he asked where my control pad wasI walked him and his trainee to the pad and explained the above (first paragraph) verbatimHis response was that he understood and will need to look at our system firstI walked him to our bedroom where the panel is housed and left him and his trainee to perform their reviewNot at any time did I mention that it was acceptable to install any hardware or that I agreed to a monitor serviceThe process went on for roughly an hour and a halfThe tech came to my kitchen with a number of products and began to propose a planIn the process he knocked my pregnant wife's purse off of the counter onto the floorAt which point he looked down and said "that's tough, that's tough"He did not move or make any gestures to pick it upI finally walked over to collect all of the items off of the floor and picked it upAt this point my wife had seen enough of this rude display and lack of concern and wanted the techs to leave I explained to the techs that it is time to leave the propertyAt that time the lead tech explained that the system is installed and that it will take some time to finish his workI AGAIN explained that I did not authorize any work aside from a passcode reset and asked why did he proceed and why did he not follow the direction given by myself and the home officeHe explained that he does not take direction from home office and that it is the home owner's responsibility to explainThat is a major disconnect in and of itselfHe urged me to confirm that I want service via the link provided in an emailI responded by saying I don't know that I even want the system and that he should have never installed the equipment without my approval or consent I have called ADT and their affiliate several timesIt is an endless amount of empty apologies and dead endsEach person routes me to someone elseI finally reached a number to cancel and the rep was extremely rudeShe explained that in order to cancel service I must fill out a form (which I was never provided) and return it back to the companyI explained that I have no such document and I don't have an account to cancelI HAVE NO CONTRACTShe said, "Write that you want to cancel on a piece of paper and fax it" I said I will not, she stated "well I have informed you on what you need to do.." I asked to speak to a supervisor at which time she refused The performance from the tech, customer support and every person I have dealt with is patheticI have wasted hours of my time trying to resolve thisAs far as I am concerned, the responsibility to retrieve the hardware is on ADT and I will take no further actionI fully expect a refund and will not accept any further charges

ADT overcharged me by $and has refused to correct the error after multiple calls I have had ADT security services for less than a yearRecently, the alarm system stopped functioning and, after repeatedly attempting to trouble-shoot by phone, a repair person came outWhen I was speaking to ADT by phone about the costs of a repair person, the representative noted that given the problems my ADT service was having, they would enroll me in a maintenance program, waive the initial enrollment fee, and send someone out at no additional costWhile I personally find the idea of having the pay an extra monthly fee to have my security service function properly a terrible business practice, I eventually agreedWhen the repair person showed up, they did not have a record of this conversationI was not home and my partner called me, and the repair technician sorted it out with ADT over the phoneWe agreed to pay $for the visit, and my partner signed a physical piece of paper agreeing t

I have been with adt since and have been paying them monthly to monitor my security system There was a system error and they never told me I was informed today 03/16/by Steven XXXXX that due to a system issue that occurred at least years They have been unable to actually monitor the account, however they continued to bill me for monitoringIn short Adt took $per month from me for years service that they knowingly couldn't provide due to this service issueLastly I had communication with Adt during this for battery replacements etc, however at no time was I made aware they were technically unable to monitor my security system due to a system issue

The BBC is as big a scam as ADT Security isnegative reviews yet they have an A+ rating because ADT pays an annual fee for a ratingThe [redacted] that sold my alarm system to me stated over and over again how it was a YEAR CONTRACT at the end of which I would own the equipmentThey keep raising my rates and when I called to cancel I discovered that I actually have a year contractLying, thieving [redacted] sI will cancel on Oct7th and that will be the last of my money that I'll allow ADT to steal from meCon Artists and [redacted] !!!!!

We made several requests for discontinuation of service at a vacated premise months ago, but continue to be billed for service I called to cancel service in February at a vacated business address I was told it would be cancelled immediately and not further charges would be incurred We continued to be charged, at which time I called in March and was told that they had no notes regarding the request, and furthermore that we would be billed for additional months prior to disconnect I was advised to FAX my request, and backdate it to the date of original call, which I did, along with a note requesting the final bill to be sent to me I never received a bill and continued to be billed for the monthly fee on our AMEX card, so in June (the time the charges should have DEFINITELY stopped) I called again, at which time I was told that the billing continued as we had a contract which obligated us through July of (entirely not true) Upon arguing this, I was told that I wo
