I am writing this because I have increasingly become frustrated with ADT I signed up in March when moving into a rental house by myselfI was told I would be locked in to a year contractI said okWhen my job took me to another city months later, I had to moveI called ADT to transfer servicesThey DID NOT tell me that I would be resigning a year contract from that pointSo my first months essentially meant nothing towards my year contractI did not find this out till moving after a year lease was up at my rental house in the new city I moved tooI also had to get more equipment because the tech told me I would have to so I would be safeSales tactics yes but I was strong armed into getting more equipment$a month later I have had poor customer service experience along with being on hold and transferred over and over againRecently the cheap key pad starting beeping all the time so I unplugged itI got a call from ADT about this and I told them something was wrong with the unitThey sent someone out to fix it and DID NOT tell me about a service charge they would be billing meI refuse to pay this when they did not tell me they would be charging thisHow the heck is this customer service? Their equipment battery went out and I was supposed to pay for someone to come fix? NO! Also, when my alarm is going off, they take forever to call the police and notify them hence my house getting broken intoI cant stand ADT, I think they are a dishonorable company with shady sales tacticsI am in SALES and there is zero tolerance for dishonesty DO GO WITH ADT!!!!!!!!!!!!

This company preyed upon my elderly mother who has dementia She couldn't figure out how to work the system from day one! She also lives in a very safe place Her paranoia was due to onset of dementia When I received durable power of attorney, I called to cancel the account They wouldn't do it without a written letter from her doctor, stating that she had signed a contract! I'm far away, trying to handle my mother's billsI wasn't able to get a letter from her doctor as I had durable but not medical POA! Fast forward months, my mother has been moved into a Memory Care facility I called today to say she's no longer living there and I need to cancel the account First they said that she needs to personally call! I explained she has severe dementia She can't call Now they claim they need proof of POA before cancellation In the meantime, she NEVER USED THE SERVICE She is an elderly woman on a tight, fixed income, and they continue to pull $a month out of her checking account Today I am sending the required documentation, but this is beyond ridiculous It's reprehensible There is a special place in [redacted] for businesses that prey on the unfounded fears of the elderly Shame on you ADT

I have a business and contacted ADT for an alarm system, which I had for about a year and a half or soI moved to a new location and called to have them relocate because I was in contractThe rep on the phone from ADT told me I was out of contract, once she told me that I decided that I no longer wanted to stay with ADT, mediocre customer service and slow response times to when an alarm went off is why I decided to not transfer it The rep told me there would be a one month charge because I need to give a day notice and after that I would be doneAbout three additional months I was charged, because I was on their automatic system to payI contacted customer support and told them about the issue of them still charging me, The rep then told me that I was not truly out of contract and that there would be a cancellation fee if I decided to cancel, very very very miss leading because now I decided to go with a different alarm company and I'm stuck with a company that has my alarm system in a warehouse that I no longer have, she told me I would have to pay the cancellation feeI told her that was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to a manager, she didn't get the manager on the phone she put me on hold for about three or four minutes then came back on and said I've decided to waive the cancellation fee your balance is now zeroI didn't confirmed with her we are done, she said yes This morning I wake up to another charge of serviceNow keep in mind I just spoke to them yesterday because I saw a charge come outShe said I was now zero and yet they decided to take more money outThis is not right do not give them your card number they will continue to charge you over and over again even when they say your balance is zero!

ADT is a bate and switchYou sign up thinking you are getting ADT service, but really some contractor comes out and changes the price you were quoted I received dozen letters telling me the monthly price would be $ I get the first bill and find I owe $ I call ADT and they tell me I have to call Defender My service is actually with Defender If I wanted Defender I would have called DefenderThe Defender installer tells me I can have the ADT Pulse app for $more per monthSo I think $isn't bad No, that deal is actually $48.99--that's what Defender tells me when I call If I want to cancel the contract I have to pay 75% of what I would owe on a year contract It's a bate and switch and it should be illegal

ADT scammed my husband into a year contract when we moved My husband called adt to inform them we were relocatingWe were then informed of an early term fee and were told the only way to avoid paying was to sign up at our new houseMy husband was not sure about this so we spoke about it and called back to schedule an appointmentWe were under the impression that that we would be fulfilling our original contract to avoid the feeThe installer came and once complete had my husband sign a year agree and that was all he could do or pay a $fee to terminateMy husband signedI do a bit of research about this because I felt like we were pushed into extending and come to find out our fee would be waived if the new owners signed up, which they didWell then we get an ETF bill in the mail for $My husband called complaining stating we even have the service in our new homeHe then confirmed the owners of our last house did sign meaning we didn't have to sign for this house

Per contract [redacted] completed by ADT dealer #XXXXXXX representative #XXXXXX we entered into a contract for service at XXXXX [redacted] XXXXX acct#XXXXXXX for the time period of 6/7/through 6/7/ October of we vacated that residence and during the course of we made several phone calls to ADT to advise them of this and to confirm the cancellation process when the contract expired We were provided with an address of a PO box in [redacted] to send a cancellation letter to I mailed the first cancellation letter on 6/22/to the address provided by an ADT representative and explained that I understood there would also be a charge for July but I expected that to be the last payment In September I saw that ADT charged for services for August and September and I notified my bank that these are unauthorized charges and revoked that authority of ADT to charge the bank account My wife called ADT and explained the situation and a representativ

ADT falsely charged me monthly fees and cancellation fees after completing a moveThey then refunded the monthly fees into the wrong account My husband and I moved at the end of May ADT completed an uninstall at our old address, [redacted] Unit [redacted] and installation at our new address, [redacted] on May 31, ADT charged us monthly fees for both addresses in June I realized we were being charged for both addresses and called on June 22, to remedy the issueI was told the old address was never cancelled and it would be taken care ofWe were still charged monthly fees for both addresses July 2, as well as pending cancellation charges of about $1,I called on July 3, because they were closed Sunday July 2, and was told the cancellation fees were being waived but the $for both addresses' monthly fees was already processed and would be processed for an expedited refundI was told it would be expedited and would only take 3-busin

My alarm system has not worked for over months I have called number of times, and they dont fix the problemSo, I want my service cancelled About months ago, my system stopped working I have called number of times to get the problem resolved Every time they put me in a queue for support, and after minutes (at minimum) the line drops So, I finally gave up, and stopped payment Now, every time they call from billing, I tell them until my service is fixed, I will not make a payment They still have done the same thing Even though they have not been able to fix my problem they still want full payment for period of no service They have put my family and home at risk Due to this negligence, I want my contract cancelled with no back payment or cancellation fee I should not be responsible for a service I am not being provided

I signed up with ADT in I sold my house in and asked to move my services to a new locationI got a house built so I spent months with a family memberDuring that months I was charged for the service even though I wasn't using itThey will not refund me the money or apply it to the new accountNow that I have the service set up in a new house, they want me to sign another month contract because they say that I am "starting over" in a new homeHowever, I was consistently charged for the service for over a yearThey can either apply the money that I spent to this new account OR they can shorten the contract the give me grace for the time that I've already been a customerMaking it mandatory for me to sign another month contract is absolutely ridiculous Product_Or_Service: ADT Security System

Representatives have conflicting billing information, lie about doing things and make unauthorized charges March 13th I was informed that due to a past due balance, I would automatically be charged the full $balance instead of the monthly amount of $54~March 14th, I make a payment of $of the $balanceI called the company to remove myself from autopay since calling is the only way to do soOn Mar 31st, I was still automatically charged $162.10, the remainder of the past due balanceOn April 3rd, I called to cancel my services and to get a refund credit for the unauthorized amount taken from my cardThey said they would start the refund process, it would take 3-business days and that I would be charged a cancellation fee for cancellingI asked for documentation to support their claimThe email I received from them as proof showed a contract start date of 11/14/which would be well out of a year contract rangeI went through the cancellation process

ADT sent my bill to collections without notice! Had ADT for yearsRecently sold our home & moved across countryADT had our new mailing address as I received the cancellation notice they sent me, however, they failed to mail me my last bill (they said they did) & months later receive a collections notice for $15.39! Where was the bill, 2nd, Final notice?! When I called to canx service, the rep said I was all paid up?!

Very disappointed in ADTI have had ADT for my home apprx years, then rented a house for a year and transferred my service to that addressI was never able to properly SET UP service on computer, so, never, really ever had communication with ADTWe moved apprx months ago due to a diagnosis of breast cancerBills mounted and I no longer could afford it, ADT, no matter what, continues to DRaW on my checking account and OVERDRAWING that account for a remaining months of a contract! Late August 2017, I had Impulse Alarm, an ADT Authorized Dealer, visit my house to talk to me about placing an alarm system in the residence I live inAfter contacting ADT to verify Impulse Alarms qualifications, I agreed and signed their contractOne of the reasons I signed on was that ADT was adding the Ring doorbell system with the alarm setup at no extra charge [redacted] from Impulse assured me that the system plus the Ring doorbell would be up and running in less than weeksWell, I'm still waitingI have tried several times to contact [redacted] and his boss [redacted] and they do not return my phone callsADT has also given me the the runaround, even though I pay my bill on timeThe best thing about my system, is that the key pad works great as a night light

I called on 10/06/2:P.MXXX-XXX-XXXX and cancelled my serviceThe rep said it would take days but the account would be cancelled and a refund would be made He also threatened to lock up my equipment so that it could not be used by another provider I told him that the control pad had already been disconnected and that I had purchased the equipment so it is a good thing that he couldn't do thatI did not receive a refund and I received a bill in the mail today 12/17/for the next three months I called customer service and was told that there was no record of that call and they would not refund any unused monies prior to today Question: why was I threatened when, as I was told today, they do not even have the capability to lock up equipment and why was that call not showing up on ADT system when all calls are supposedly recorded? So I have been paying for more than months of service which I cancelled of 10/06/This makes me a very unhappy former customer who would never use ADT services againI previously used ADT services for many years both at home and business and was very satisfiedI changed services because my son in law works for another security companyThis is a very bad experience and a reflection on the integrity of the company and its employees

ADT Security Services demanding I pay a contract I never signed Please, Please, Please, I am desperate I am in my 80's and as of February widowed I must sell my house due to financesWhen I called to cancel ADT Security Services for my house they insisted that I have to pay through the contract period, an amount of $ I NEVER signed a contact They sent a form for forged signature and I sent a notarized signature which does not match the contact they insist I signedThey refused the facts and are sending me to collections I have no one to turn to except lawyers who I cannot afford Can anyone please hep me? EXTREMELY UNETHICAL SALES TACTIC We recently purchased a new home & have had the same guy from ADT stop twiceThe first time I was home but was on a business call and unable to answer the door"Dave" proceeded to slip an envelope thru the crack of the door to the point that it was basically in the house with a new homeowner special flyer on itI don't think forcing things into someone's home is an ethical way of delivering information Then, he showed up again tonight for a 2nd visitThis is the one that really frustratedI answered the door and he smiled and introduced himself as Dave from ADT and asked if I was the homeowner while sticking his hand out to shake extremely far almost to the point it was in my faceI immediately told him that I wasn't interested in ADT's services but thanks for stopping byAt that point, he kept his hand out and a big smile and said "Don't you think it's important to protect your home and your family?" I told him that I was all set and didn't appreciate the scare tactic sales pitch Don't let Dave scare you into purchasing something like thisDo some research and decide for yourself
