This is the second complaint I have file thru Revdex.com for this company ADT home security systemI had called on May 15, to give my day notice to cancel my services with ADTI been waiting for a year for my contract to end and it finally is coming to an endI called ADT at XXXX-XXX-XXXX the rep I spoke with I did not get her name, I had Advice her for the reason for my call is to give my day notice to cancel my servicemy last day would of have been 06/15/the sales rep ask why I wanted to end services? I had explain to her I had a bad experience with ADT in past and no longer want to do business with ADTthe rep kept on insisting to stay with ADT, rep offer me months free if I would stay and renew my contractand they would lower my monthly payment to I advise the rep that I have no desire to continue with ADT service, to please add days notice to terminate the policyI ask rep to notate our conversation on my accountrep stated she will cancel policyi

I have had ADT service for over years and it has always been fraught with problems and conflicting information from ADT personnel It would take weeks to relay all the problems, issues and outright lies from ADT over the years I have now moved out of the house where I had the service and I contacted ADT to cancel service months agoHowever, they refuse to cancel the service and give different excuses every time I contact themThey continue to bill me for services I have not received, for a house I no longer own, in a country that I no longer reside in and somehow they still can't see what's wrong with this situation For months I have been trying to have this resolved but every time I contact them I get a different storyFinally on November someone at ADT said they would have it corrected if I emailed him a copy of the cancellation notification I sent back in AugustSo I didBut then of course I hear nothing back from them, the account is still not cancelled and they are trying to bill me even more In frustration I contact them via social media and then I get a message telling me "there is no record of your calls" and telling me that if I want to cancel I can email proving a WRITTEN copy of my signature is on the letter - that is the first I have heard of thisSo why didn't someone mention that back in August if that is why they are refusing to accept my cancellation notice, they should have SAID THAT months agoIt is despicable to ignore me for months, continue to try and bill me, and never bother to tell me why you won't accept any of my cancellation notices What a disgusting company

Misleading advertising and deceptive business practices! Possibly the dealer is the one at fault, however if this dealer is representing ADT, then ADT is still at fault for allowing it My mother was lured by the misleading advertising of $per month monitoring, then after spending $on equipment and being charged $per month we are told it is because we had wireless installed rather than landline which the installer never told us would cost more Had another technician come out to downgrade to landline and immediately he tried to convince us otherwise, then when we insisted we wanted landline connection he said he couldn't do it without moving the keypad from the back door to nearest landline phone three rooms into the house, which is unacceptable Still waiting for the $rebate gift card certificate, and upon calling to complain discovered there will also be $activation fee placed on that, which we were also not told about Beware of what the visiting technician tells you during the first visit!!!

I purchased the basic package from the Safe Home dealer, the salesman walked me through the process and contract, told me about the prorated charge for the month and was pretty helpful and friendlyThe technicians took about and a half hours when the sales guy said it would only take an hour and a half but other then that it was fineI guess it really depends on the dealer that you go throughI checked with http://www.diyhomesecurityguide.com before I decided to go with ADT

Deceptive Billing Practices
I have been a customer of ADT for almost yearsAt the end of my paid up contract, switched to another company and did not renew my contract with ADT However, I kept receiving overdue bills for services I no longer was receiving (after mid December) This was followed by several (as many as two a day) automated phone calls reminding of the "overdue account." After several attempts to reach the billing office by phone I was finally successful in early February A rather rude representative informed me that I would have to pay a "cancellation" fee I informed him that I was not inclined to do so as I had paid up until January and the service was disconnected in mid December It is an alarm monitoring company after all, it should be obvious when I am no longer connected I finally gave up trying to get them to understand that I was no longer a customer They sent me a final bill for $ and I paid the bill to stop the harassing phon

Called 5/4/to cancel alarm service(no longer under contract).Was told would have a pro-rated bill for month of May but was charged for whole month
on 5/4/18, my wife *** called ADT at *** to cancel our alarm service (we were no longer under contract)At 1:57pm, she spoke to ***Since we were days into billing cycle, my wife asked if there would be a prorated charge for days*** said yes and cancellation would be effective that day
On 5/18/18, I was charged $for alarm service for the whole month of MayOn 6/4/at approximately 5:45pm, my wife called ADT back and spoke to *** then ***ADT now tells us that yes it was cancelled 5/but takes them days to cancel serviceThis is an outright scam to bilk another month of service from a customerIf I called them today to start a new alarm service, I guarantee you it would be working today and not in daysThere is no reason this should take days and this is not stated anywhere in any

We contacted ADT Security Services to have a sale representative come to our home and tell us they type of security system they recommend and give us a priceThey gave us an appointment in December but called us from Gainsville FLone hour before our appointment time to tell us that they had double-booked their appointments and would not be able to comeI was upset for later notification, contacted their management team and received another appointment date and time in January At the appointed time, the sales rep did not show upI called minutes after the appointment time; the rep said that he was caught in traffic but was on his wayI asked him what his location was and from what he said, we figured that it would have been another 40, minutes before he could have arrived at our homeWe told him not to bother coming, When I contacted his office and complained about their unprofessional business practice in terms of keeping appointments and being on time, I found out that he told his office that he called us to confirm the appointment when he was on his way, but we told him not to come.I think that when he returned to his office they checked his cell phone for incoming and outgoing calls and figured out that he had lied because a few hour later I received a a call from a regional manager apologizing and asking for another chance to come out to our homeWe decided to do business with another firm because we think that we cannot trust our security to a company which lacks business discipline and employs dishonest people

Contract and services were cancelled and a representative called me to offer a new rate and reinstated services without my approval

They are liarsWhile talking to them on the phone ADT agreed to do somethingthen when you call them backThey don't know what they agreed to do
This company shut my service off for a year when I made regular payments for my serviceI was arming my system everyday without serviceThey had to refund me a year worth of payments because they mistakenly cut my service offThey cut my service off For the second timeThis time for five months and now they refuse to give me my money back for the service I did not have for monthsThey insist on giving me credit for future paymentshowever, I want a refund for the service I did not receiveEven after spending hours on the phone with ADTthey finally agreed to give me my money backI called to check on my refund and Tammy #XXXXX informed me that I am getting credit instead of a refundAfter spending all those hours on the phone I was back to square one againThey refuse to refund me for my over payments even when they agreed

The rep came by my house a couple weeks after I had moved in to discuss getting a system set up and convinced me that I needed one because of the burglaries around the neighborhoodSo I let him come in to take a look at the windows and doorsI signed up to get the system under the impression that I had months to change my mind - aka the month money back guaranteeAfter months of having the system I called to cancel and they advised me that I signed a month contract and that I was obligated to pay them $each monthI asked about the money back guarantee and she advised me that the policy only was upheld if there was a technical issue with the system and that a technician needed to be send out times for the same issue in order for them to actually give you your money backThis was not in any communicated from the rep that initially came to my houseThe lady on the phone was extremely rude and was not concerned with any issues of mine, only that I had signed the contractI really feel that I was lured into this contract and now there is no way out After reading the other complaints on this, it seems to be a common issue with their customersI am really baffled that this company has an A+ rating on here as there have been multiple complaints about the same thingDO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ADT - THEY ARE SCAMMERS ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY

Last March we had ADT services installedWe were told we were not opted into a contractMy husband and I consistently asked if we were signing into a contract and the installer (***) said no, every timeWe went to sign "paperwork" which was loaded on a tabletWe would have to hit a button on the screen to put our initials or signature on the formEverytime we would select the button he would tell us what it was forEvery button was for him giving us some piece of equipment (carbon monoxide monitor, outdoor signs, window monitors, etc.)We continued to ask *** if we were opting into a contract and he continued to say noWe are wanting to cancel our services due to no longer using them and are being told we have to pay a cancellation feeI should not have to pay a cancellation fee when were told we would not be in a contractWe have contacted the company multiple times to get this straightened outEvery time we would get a run around and then be told "a supervisor would

ADT: Horrible Experience Transferring the service is a nightmare Different parts of ADT do not transfer information correctlyCalling to correct is not good--just stuck on phone for hours Lesson: Buy and install your own equipment yourself

Horrible - I had a broken ankle so I could not see what "***" from ADT was doingEvery door/window was done VERY SLOPPYDId not clean latex from the old security systemDid not take all old security sensors offPut new sensors where ever was the least amount of work for him - no matter how it looksSensors on windows are not all put in correct place and go off during thunder stormsADT corporate will not help They think that the pictures of the horrible work that I include are "acceptable"If you want your windows and doors to look as horrible as ours, then go with ADTRather than make a customer happy over a legitimate issue, they instead *** of the customer so much that writing bad reviews on the internet is the only recourse
Once you provide a negative review on the internet, they send a "canned message" saying that they care and to email them Once you do, a local representative *** *** leaves message to call so that we can resolve the issue I call and call and call but he never returns any calls That is how ADT does customer service

This company preyed upon my elderly mother who has dementia She couldn't figure out how to work the system from day one! She also lives in a very safe place Her paranoia was due to onset of dementia When I received durable power of attorney, I called to cancel the account They wouldn't do it without a written letter from her doctor, stating that she had signed a contract! I'm far away, trying to handle my mother's billsI wasn't able to get a letter from her doctor as I had durable but not medical POA! Fast forward months, my mother has been moved into a Memory Care facility I called today to say she's no longer living there and I need to cancel the account First they said that she needs to personally call! I explained she has severe dementia She can't call Now they claim they need proof of POA before cancellation In the meantime, she NEVER USED THE SERVICE She is an elderly woman on a tight, fixed income, and they continue to pull $a month out of her checking account Today I am sending the required documentation, but this is beyond ridiculous It's reprehensible There is a special place in *** for businesses that prey on the unfounded fears of the elderly Shame on you ADT

I sign a contract for years with the AdT alarm with my bussiness but when I sign I ask any fee but the sales man he told me it is no fee for early cancellations and I ask him what about if I don't keep my bussiness in years and he told r u fool no one ask u anything Today I have burglary I'm shop my alarm never get any signal when I call them their customer service she respond I'm so sorry what happen to your shop we will send a technicianTuesday and I told them why not Monday she says it is no one I call technical support and they told me you don't have a sensor for ur shop if they came from the roof I call them back the customer service waiting around min another customer told I can't do anything for u and I told I want to canceled my service and ask take your equipment and he told it is mine and he transfer the cancelation department and he told me I have to pay 800$ fee , they never mention when I sign and now I lost everything I can't afford to pay

We're sickened by the scandalous way these people workOn the main wall when entering our home this guy put a giant boxHe pushed our couch out three inches for the power supplyHe installed all this first, which we assumed had to be covered by the super "deal" we were getting with $1,400+ of "free" equipment and THEN sat to talk money to the tune of $400/month for the next four months!? $68/month after, for years!? What!? Give me my formerly untouched plaster wall back, take this monstrous box, and give us peace of mind back!
3:30AM and can't sleep BECAUSE OF A SECURITY COMPANY!

ADT was purchased 8/and relocated to a new home 3/I was in a year contract with my USAA membershipI was told the contract did not start over with a move by rep Wayne *** but it didand they did a yr not a 2yr for *** memberI was also told by Wayne all *** members are in year contracts not I pay a month
Last year my ADT system shut my landline to my home downI had no phone for a weekNo phone as in landline or cell, as my cell does not work here at homeCentury link came and figured out it was my ADT so I called and had a ADT tech come fix itHe was very rude and I made a local complaint which should be on file with *** ** office, the tech stated that his work was not the problem but He replaced the box hooked it back up and left slamming all my doors
This past week my phone started cutting out

On Dec my wife contacted ADT by phone to request a quote for monitoring services on a previously installed hardwired systemOur initial consultation occurred and after repeated assurances from the ADT Representative MrNeray Walker that the present special included a 6-month Money-back guarantee and rewards for referrals we agreed to immediate installation
We provided three referrals and were promised a to weeks, $gift cardAfter the stated time this offer was denied by the Representative
Went on emergency leave , country of Bahrain for the next four weeks and observed the following:
Dec - No Internet access
Dec - access unavailable
Dec - cannot view videos or retrieve captured clip
Dec @- no live feed from either camera

ADT did not fulfill the terms of the agreement within weeks of signing up, so I want to cancel my contract
no customer support, a pass the buck Call Centre, every call in 20+ minutes of being transferred and on hold, and shoddy tech support have left my system still not workingHaving to wait a week for a tech to attend every time x I asked they end the contract as it was within the days of dissatisfaction as per their advertised garentee, they tell me I could try and appeal but I will be in breach of contract and owe $thousands rude and incompetent staff have made the issue and worse For example, one left me on hold minutes because I used a shortened version of my first name and he said he would have to clear talking to me through his supervisor even after I passed all the security steps to prove myself! I'm still waiting on a call back from a manager xtimes to discuss the issues , I asked to end my contract as I'm dissatisfied within the day grace period a
