Fast talking salesperson doesn't listen Keeps insisting that I will not be charged anything, but wants to take a credit card just to verify that I am a serious customer When I ask for a receipt, she throws me into an automated system The next person that answers says they don't give receipts I asked for a manager who refused to give his last name, so I asked to cancel the transaction He rudely says, "We have a recording of you authorizing the payment." I tell him that his salesperson indicated I would not be charged and he tells me that they will refund me in 10-days He didn't even bother to ask me for my name or reference number
I repeatedly told the salesperson that I was not comfortable, and she kept assuring me that I could cancel when the technician arrived if I was not happy and I would not be charged anything Once I told the manager to cancel the transaction, I called my bank and the bank representative said that they immediately processed the payment
My bank will dispute the charges and I have to cancel my credit card because I don't trust these people It's bad business to ask for payment and refuse to provide a payment confirmation and refuse to give your name

I cancelled my service in July Despite cancelling my service ADT kept my account active and kept charging me
I cancelled my service with ADT in July ADT charged my credit card $ I put a dispute in with my credit card company for the entire $charge In the meantime, ADT sent a partial credit of $to my credit card which my credit card company reversed back to ADT's bank due to the ongoing dispute that I had already put in place for the entire amount of $ At some point after this, ADT sent my account to collections I do not owe ADT any money I cancelled my services in July and no matter how many times I called to cancel they kept telling me that my account was still active and that I was still being charged

ADT needs to remove service fees for April, May, June, July, August, & Srptember 2016, no service through this period
I received a bill March which I phoned ADT to inform them to cancel my previous serviceMy balance was zeroADT was billing me for the future months of April, May, & June, on that statement for $ADT proceeded to send another bill which I phoned again to cancel my serviceThen ADT sent another bill which I sent a letter to again confirm cancelationI just received another bill dated June 13, for the next three future months of July, August, & September for another $totaling $ I again contacted ADT which they transfer me numerous times expressing they understand but the bills keep coming for service that I do not have

I was connected to ADT sales after ONLY calling to set up new service for electric in my family's new residenceI mentioned I was undecided but would like to get pricing since my husband had shown interest in the product, and I also receive a discount from my employerI had told the man originally I only wanted pricing, and I couldn't be on the line long since I was on the clock at work and was just about to go back from a short breakHe mentioned the call would only take about minutes and I could get pricing before the end of the callI say okHe continues to talk promotions, to which I let him know which option would be bestAfter that has been decided I again ask for pricing since I do not have much timeHe snidely remarks, " Well we're talking nowIt should only be two more minutes" I again say okWorking in customer service myself I was not trying to be rude to a man who was only doing his jobHe then proceeds to ask for an install dateI tell him, " Again, I am not calling to set up serviceI would only like pricing." He says ok I'm just going over options." He then again asks me if I would like to choose an optional install date if it doesn't agree or we choose not to I can cancel I am starting to get frustrated at this point and I again for the fourth time I would just like pricingAfter realizing he wasn't going to make a sale then and there he quickly gave me the pricing for two options discussed and a callback numberThank ***! After the set up for my electric took less then or so minutes, I was lead through a near minute sales pitchThroughout the rest of my day at work I noticed a missed call on my phoneAS SOON AS I AM LEAVING THE BUILDING FROM WORK I again receive a call from the same numberI answer it's a rep from ADT asking if he could finish set up, and asks me why I did not complete install date on the original callI very bluntly tell him that, " I initially called to only set up my electric, the sales rep was very pushy, and the fact that I am receiving this second call within hours of my first makes me not want want the service even more." I asked them to not call me again and if I wanted service I would call to set it upI was interested in this product until salesmen got ahold of my call, and CUSTOMER SERVICE went out the windowAgain, I receive a discount through my employer, and my spouse was interested in this productAfter this I will gladly forfeit the discount for another customer service friendly companyYou should listen to the customer above all else!!

I recently decided to have a security system installed but was concerned with the cost I received a promotional flyer in the mail for ADT which offered a $rebate on installation/$per month special so I elected to contact them The salesperson promptly came out the next day He was personable and knowledgeable about the system and did a great job of installing the equipment However, as he was persuading me to purchase a more expensive package, he promised a "couple more $VISA gift cards" to "offset" the additional cost for the first year He had also indicated that I had "three months" to cancel the contract if I was not "happy." So, I agreed He said I would receive an email regarding the gift cards within three days days later, I contacted the local contractor to inquire about the gift cards The CSR promptly sent me an email for the first $VISA card and "got permission" to authorize one more (instead of two), which was nice However, in reviewing the instructions for redemption, the process to obtain the gift cards seemed odd so I googled Mpell Solutions (the company who distributes these cards on behalf of ADT) and read numerous negative reviews by customers who described their experience as a "scam" meaning some did not receive the cards, difficulties activating, frustration about the $shipping fee, and other concerns At this point, it made me uncomfortable to send in a personal check to try and redeem the certificateI contacted the local contractor and just expressed my frustration over being mislead and inquired about deactivating my system I was told there is absolutely no way to deactivate the system (unless there are "three of the exact same" unresolved incidents with the system within days) without paying the remaining fee on the three year contract (I believe 75% of the value of the contract) In short, I feel that I was mislead by the representative of the company and feel this is poor business practice I know I signed the contract and therefore am stuck with it but have buyer's remorse for the reasons cited above My review: From a customer service aspect, buyer bewareAnd be prepared to be locked in to the contract despite what was originally promised

ADT refuses to honor its contract terms because an ADT sales rep failed to communicate internet speed requirements for installation

If you want random technicians showing up in personal cars, ADT is for you! Since moving into our new home in March we've had service calls to ADTEach technician was from a third party company who would arrive in an unmarked car and sometimes showed an ADT badge
The first call was for a new setup, which was done incorrectlyThis led to another technician request to come out and re-install the correct equipment in the right location the following weekOver the next two months we had several more issues with the indoor camera working properly - horrible picture quality, not working at night etcAnother technician came out to check the issues and we were told that for over months there was no connection between my home and ADTIn case of an emergency there would have been no emergency contact made to the correct authorities

We're sickened by the scandalous way these people workOn the main wall when entering our home this guy put a giant boxHe pushed our couch out three inches for the power supplyHe installed all this first, which we assumed had to be covered by the super "deal" we were getting with $1,400+ of "free" equipment and THEN sat to talk money to the tune of $400/month for the next four months!? $68/month after, for years!? What!? Give me my formerly untouched plaster wall back, take this monstrous box, and give us peace of mind back!
3:30AM and can't sleep BECAUSE OF A SECURITY COMPANY!

This is the most awful service I have ever received from ADT and Defender Security I have had endless billing and service problems with very little resolution support These is a partner group, but have no idea how to work together Their communication is confusing, inconsistent and outright pathetic I have wasted hours trying to solve these problems to no avail I set up easypay and they never charged the payments; excuse, Defender Security is not ADT and this needed to be set up separately They claimed to have left numerous voicemails and text that I never received Most representatives were very rude
I will never use ADT again and will ensure all my associated are aware of the poor service; I would not recommend ADT to anyone At this point, I intend to pay the early cancellation fee just because I do not want to deal with this organization again
I can see by the other reviews that I am not alone Clearly, this company is about profit, not customer service

I have had ADT service for over years and it has always been fraught with problems and conflicting information from ADT personnel It would take weeks to relay all the problems, issues and outright lies from ADT over the years I have now moved out of the house where I had the service and I contacted ADT to cancel service months agoHowever, they refuse to cancel the service and give different excuses every time I contact themThey continue to bill me for services I have not received, for a house I no longer own, in a country that I no longer reside in and somehow they still can't see what's wrong with this situation For months I have been trying to have this resolved but every time I contact them I get a different storyFinally on November someone at ADT said they would have it corrected if I emailed him a copy of the cancellation notification I sent back in AugustSo I didBut then of course I hear nothing back from them, the account is still not cancelled and they are trying to bill me even more In frustration I contact them via social media and then I get a message telling me "there is no record of your calls" and telling me that if I want to cancel I can email proving a WRITTEN copy of my signature is on the letter - that is the first I have heard of thisSo why didn't someone mention that back in August if that is why they are refusing to accept my cancellation notice, they should have SAID THAT months agoIt is despicable to ignore me for months, continue to try and bill me, and never bother to tell me why you won't accept any of my cancellation notices What a disgusting company

Lost connection to ADT and they sent a tech out on 1/ After years of service this guy is telling me he can not find a live phone line
This is the 3rd time with a connection issue in years When I called to complain about the tech and the lack of repair the customer service rep told me that if I don't want to have the tech run lines then you need to find another company How could that possibly be a response to a year customer

ADT sold us contract-free monitoring service in person, but now says we are in a 3-year contract which can only be broken with a early termination fee

BEWARE, I ended up with a multi-year contract on a system that didn't work I thought I was safe because I paid extra for the ADT repair service agreement, where ADT repairs the system if it doesn't work, but that was a scam too because ADT still required me to pay to repair it I ended paying $to terminate early
