I never signed a contract ,the sales rep allowed another person at the residence to allow installation on a security system and put the bill in my name and no one signed a contract at all as a matter of fact the sales guy expressed mailed a contract to me and no one ever signed the contract I have the unsigned contract w me and the service is being cancelled and now adt says I owe an early termination fee off 433$ and the contract was never signed and the sales guy never told the person that allowed the installation was never informed that the service had to be for yearsAgain the sales tech illegal allowed a system to be installed in my name w o my consent and the contract was never signed by anyone

First of all, why has ADT been rated At when 95% of the comments are negative? I was told that my ADT contract could be transferred to new ownersI specifically asked this question numerous times as my home was on the marketI had it installed May & home sold in Dec The new owners were told that my contract could not be transferred & they would have to sign a three year contractThey don't want to, so I have called numerous times to get assistanceI even spoke to a supervisor after a long hold timeThey are rigid & will not admit I was given wrong informationNot only am I out $plus for installation but will now have to pay over $1,to get out of my contractPlease use another no contract companyMy realtor told me this has been an ongoing problem with home sales specific to ADTIf you have had a bad experience with ADT please post on numerous sites to bring attention to the company & maybe business loss will result in different practices

Customer challenge to Protection One:
On January 25, 2018, Mrs*** *** suffered a fall in a parking lot which resulted in a fractured pelvisBecause of the condition, she was unable to climb the stairs to her bedroomShe therefore was confined to sleeping in her chair in the family room on the first floor of the homeThat first night, her husband turned out all the lights and went upstairs, leaving her sleeping alone in the darkAt about am, she was awakened suddenly by the burglar alarm sounding a full blastAlone and helpless in the dark, she was terrified! Her husband came running down the steps, turning on lights as he came, fearful that his wife was in dangerAfter careful inspection of the entire house, he concluded that this was a alarm and so informed the monitor caller

The mechanics of ADT's service work well - alarms can be easily set and will trigger as expected Bi-yearly billing for the service also works well The problem comes when you have to change something or upgrade I recently has my cellphone baservice upgraded at ADT's request The tech who showed up did not have working equipment and, luckily for me, a contractor was present who easily mounted the new cellphone to the wall The tech also managed to disconnect my land line and I had no phone service Of course, I only knew about this when I got a call on my cell phone asking where I was I called ADT to schedule an emergency repair The best that they could do was to send someone the next day between 12- I asked for an earlier appointment but was told that the staff would be in meetings in the morning (remember that statement - you're going to read it again) A different tech showed up and after looking at the mess he found (I cleanhis language), was able to reconfigure the installation and restore land line service The contractor was installing new windows and I needed to get the sensors reinstalled I also needed additional sensors as the window configurations were changing That appointment (one week after the cellphone upgrade) was already set up and the tech arrived and did the work And managed to disconnect my land line AGAIN Another call to ADT at night to get an emergency repair, only to be on hold for over minutes and told that the techs will be in staff meetings in the morning They REALLY have to come up with another excuse Anyway, tech was on-time and a quick fix corrected the problem Now I've gotten a bill for the replacement and new sensors and labor But it is not itemized I've asked for a breakdown of the amount Let's hope that they can deliver
Al in all, not hideous customer service but an overall poor experience

ADT system worked just fineNo glitches or issues with the system
However, the first tech who did the install didn't know what he was doing though and the system would go down from time to timeWhen another tech came out to fix it he was shocked at how poorly the initial installation was completedA minor offense
The REAL ISSUE came when I moved from Los Angeles to Maui, HIFirst off, ADT DOES NOT SERVICE HAWAII OTHER THAN OAHUI learned this the hard wayAfter numerous phone calls to the customer service department about transferring service, cancelling service, etcit was determined that ADT could not provide service on the island of Maui (after reminding them that Hawaii, Maui included, is a part of the United States) and that I would have to pay 75% of the remaining contractI was required to pay ADT even though the company couldn't service my new address in the United States

I highly recommend going another direction with home securityTheir customer service is terrible, lazy, and 100% fakeThey don't care about their customers, which is now clear

My husband and I have spent over a month trying to fix our security systemADT has sent over multiple employees to resolve our security system, none have been successfulOur HORRIBLE experience began with an employee named *** *** who came in and didn't complete the task he promised to completeInstead a few days later he texted, informing us he couldn't help us anymore and there was nothing he can do to successfully install our system (wow! very professional)I was left very upset, this man literally came to our home, installed unnecessary products (that we were charged for) to get credit on a high commission and lied to us about the security plansApparently the plan he advised us to sign up for...doesn't even exist!!!! Now we are paying more than what was promised and we are STUCK on a CONTRACT because of *** ***I personally don't understand how ADT stays in business, I'm not sure if that's how they train their employees or if that's just how their business worksRegardless its disgusting and unethical

BE AWARE----I've been an ADT customer for over yrsI just up graded to the pulse systems with wireless camerasThis system has a major flawMy car was vandalized in my drivewayWhen I went to show the video to the policeI learned that the camera only records for seconds....then TAKE MINUTES TO RESET BEFORE IT RECORDS AGAINso all I had was the back of someones headThey left that info about the MINUTE DELAY...out of the sales pitchVery disappointedI was surprised to hear from ADT customer service "who had no idea about their systems" that for another $they can get me the system I thought I had brought

canceled my ADT Service
adt services was canceled july 27, 2018, aug,ADT withdrew $from my bank account after telling me I had a balance and my account has been canceled with ADTwhen I called to get a refund of the $*** employee number *** refused my refund stating there was a clause in the contract stating cancellations take day to processi am under no contract at all considering my contract was fully filled in and has service on a month to month basis with no contracthe also refuse to give me names and numbers of those in charge so that I could file a formal complaint with them

IF THERE is any less than star I would have given that, asked for me to pay for the cancelled services which on there end could not find any fault for it

I have been a loyal ADT customer for 10+ years (years current residence and 5+ years former residence) On multiple occassions, I contacted ADT to trouble shoot a problem I was having with my system, and requested a technician come out A tech showed up outside of the arranged window Last Saturday, I contacted ADT to cancel my service with the company After speaking with ***, a customer service rep, and *** a customer service supervisor, I was told I'd have to pay $to cancel the contract because it renewed in May when I added a camera to my service after ADT sent me a free camera offer I ALREADY HAD SERVICE WITH ADT! WHY WOULD ADDING A TOOL TO EXISTING SERVICE RENEW THE CONTRACT? After 10+ years as a customer, I must pay $770? This is a SCAM, as well as poor customer service It's preposterous to think it's okay to charge this amount of money to cancel a contract I never requested be renewed, especially when I was not informed of this feeI AM INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED AND DONE WITH ADT!!!!!!!

I bought a house a few years back and had ADT installed since I travel a bit for workI ended up selling the house about a year and a half later and wanted to cancel security service but was told that I can not cancel unless I pay the off the rest of my contract, at which point I was confusedWhen I asked rep what she was talking about, the rep told me I signed a three year contractI told her that I never signed a contract, I was never informed of a contract, and I have not seen a contractI had the contract I supposedly sign emailed to me and the signature on the contract was nothing like mine so I filled out a fraud packet only for the fraud tell me that the signature was confirmed to be mineHow could I have signed a contract I was not informed about and have never seen? I am stuck paying a bill because someone forged my signature

The installation did not include all the equipment I was promised in the deal and it has been unresolved for a month
I was quoted two cameras when I signed the installation dealOnly camera was installedI've attempted unsuccessfully to have the issue resolved for over a monthMy sales rep offered to purchase the camera to resolve the issue and his manager stated her would send the camera and it didn't happenI called again and was charged additional money and quoted an additional fee for monitoring which wasn't included in the original dealI rejected the additional monitoring fee and asked for a full refund and the removal of the equipment and was quoted a early termination feeI also have a photo that was taken from the location where the second camera was supposed to be installed leading me to believe there was two cameras installed when there was actually one which leads me to believe I may have been the victim of a scam

Harassing and Unethical Sales Practices
I moved into my new home July 28th In the past weeks I have had "visits" from Sales associates and Relocation specialist All of which were told we're not interested All of which telling my month pregnant wife and I that we moved into a "pretty bad area" and that there's been multiple break ins, in the last couple of days All of which are untrue *** *** *** *** is one of the safest regions in the state
I find their sales practices to be unethical and harassing
On a personal note, it's difficult enough to keep a pregnant wife happy, I don't need a company intentionally trying to make her paranoid
I wouldn't do business with ADT if they paid me for their services
