DO NOT USE ADTI have had the worst exerience with customer service and then getting into a dealer disputeTheir customer service employees are trained to upsell you and force you into signing thingsMy customer service rep told me he had minutes left on his shift and I needed to sign the document before then
Word to the wise: if you are using an old system, double check if it is through an authorized dealer and not ADT itselfI got in a dealer dispute for not knowing better and was punished by having to wait to get my system installedInstead of using their local authorized dealers as an extension of themselves, ADT is greedy and will try to take the customers back even if they haven't signed anything

Beware of adt! I signed up as Monitronics three years agoThey said they could go up on price and yes they didHowever, you can't get out of your contractWent up about $a yearI called after my contract was up to cancel and they continued to charge meWhen I called about it, I was told they had sent me a form to fill out to cancel (what***! Misleading product information
I have been a customer of ADT for quite sometime On Feb 10, I called ADT to inquire about updating my control panel I spoke with a representative by the name of Jonathan in Boca Raton Fl I explained to him I was inquiring about an upgrade for my control panel I was interested in the touch screen color panel Jonathan told me about a panel which I can move an place it any where I wanted to I told him that's the panel I wantedHe stated he check the system and that panel would work with the system I haveHe set up the work order for the panel plus a bracket with he said costs $and install fee of $and sent it to meThe install was support to take place tomorrowToday, 2/16/I called back in with some questions One of my questions was asking if the new panel came with new key fobs The rep could not answer that question and had to transfer me to another rep Upon speaking to that rep, it was discovered that the work order w

This is in regards to the 1-# for ADT After spending minutes on the phone discussing a security system, I set up a date/time for ADT to give make a visit and give me an estimate I am shopping for the best security system so I am getting several estimates At the end of the call, the guy asked me for my social security number He said they had to run a credit report before they would come to my home and give an estimate I refused because I'm ready to obligate to any security system company yet After talking with a manager he too insisted they had to run a credit report before they could give me a "Free" Estimate Needless to say I cancelled the estimate and hung up

ADT offered ADT Pulse to keep me as customer but they screwed up the install
At the end of May I cancelled my service with ADT in favor of another supplier of security svcs
On June ADT customer service agreed to upgrade me to ADT Pulse system if I stayed at similar monthly cost as competitor, I agreed and set up install date for July at 8am
On July 3rd installer shows up at 9:00AM andhe tells me that his installation orders are not clearI called customer service and they kept me on hold for everTwo hours later they offered to start install but they would have to come back to finish next week - I could not accept that and be without system for that long - crazy!!
I told customer service to give me someone in charge to resolve this After hours (now 11AM) of nothing I was forced to cancel install as noone was helpful
I took day off to handle this I also cancelled my other service provider option to give ADT another chance and they failed miserably in many

An attempt was made near the end of August 2016, to cancel my account with ADT After making numerous phone calls, sending numerous emails and making numerous other attempts to contact them, they have continue to deny that I have cancelled my account They even went so far as to send me to a collection company ADT has informed my that I did not include an account verification code I do not recall that they ever requested such a code or informed me that such was needed This issue has been going on for months and ADT seems to be totally ignorant of all my attempts I have copies of emails, letters, and notes from phone calls.This situation is ridiclous and totally uncalled for I had been their customer for more than years

Able to add any additional devices myself to expand the alarm system
When I called ADT I asked if I were able to add additional devices myself in order to expand the security and alarm systemThe customer service representative stated that I will have access to the system and I can add as many devices I want as long they are ZWave or ZWave PlusHe even stated that he has done it himself and that he added a door Ring camera that he found cheaper as the one ADT hasI specifically informed him that that was my intention to add better and more modern ZWave devices that are on the marketHe stated that the service person will show me how to add devicesI told him that I called other providers and they don't allowed customers to add any device to their systemI insisted asking him if ADT will let me add devices, he repeated that he has done it himself
The day of the installation the service technician showed me how to access the system in order to add other devices to the system

I was told I was going to get a refund for a small portion of the unused time left
I called and canceled my service and was told that I would be receiving a partial credit for the unused portion of my prepaid service which is billed and prepaid quarterlyThen I received a bill in the mail for $something dollarsI called they said I had to cancel days prior to canceling serviceI told them that I had (which I did)Now I'm in collections and the amount that has changed times is now $There is things wrong with situation#I did cancel before days before the new quarter#even if I didn't I never agreed or signed such a thing in my original contractI've been a loyal ADT customer for or so years have never been late or missed a paymentMy ADT account # is XXXXXXXX

ADT's Failure to terminate service request by *** ***
On September 30th we called the ADT customer service to inform them that we no longer needed the service and we wanted it cancelled
*** *** was not under any contractual obligations and we expected that the service would be cancelled,however after a few weeks we were still receiving a bill from ADT

They informed us they did not perform install it was this 3rd party company; DefendersOnce we did the research and figured out how horrid these people were we cancelled right away, the next morningThey had us go fax them the formSo the same day we set up a time for a system pullWe had a set time 3-pm to expect his arrivalWe waited until for him to show up saying he could not take the equipment...his system didn't update itSo I have to call back again
They finally take it(we wouldn't let him leave with out it)(I would like to add that our tech was great, from to start to finishHe was absolutely great.) Today is July 9th and I have yet to receive a refundI was told days from the cancellation date our Money would be returnedI have called multiple times and told different thingsIt seems no one really knows except that they are waiting for the tech and his boss to close it out...today I spoke with a rip roaring fire cracker named ***She was wonderfulShe was in contact with the boss's boss We were supposed to hear from them within the hour, as it was to be rectified today but we have yet to hear anything hours later
We called ADT corporate to ask if it may be possible to have a strictly ADT employee come to our homeThey said we are out of area but they have a DIY package they could mail usThey also informed us that Defenders pricing was outrageous and they could give us all of the same equipment for a quarter of the priceThat total came to be $with the same monthly monitoring charges We agreed to this, paid the moneyHowever...we then did research on this and come to find out it is also a 3rd party company called ProtectionAccording to them they have merged as one company but the computer systems have not yet been integratedSo we cancelled that as well
It has been a run around since the day the tech walked in the doorVery secretive and lack of information given to their customersI HIGHLY recommend calling ADT corporate and specifying you want an ADT installer, NOT a 3rd party if even ADT at allWe were referred to best buy to buy the Samsung ADT security started kit by ADT corporate themselvesThe monthly monitoring is half the price and the price is a quarter of what it would be for an installer of the equipment
There are multiple class action suits against DefendersI can not express enough to do your research before calling them to monitor your homeShame on ADT for letting them represent their companyShame on ADT for not revealing this information the minute you get on the phone with them
