A horrible, no good, useless experience with an alleged "home security" company Defenders, Incis ADT's "Premier Provider" in my area It did a horrible and defective initial installation, which not only failed to work but rendered my wife's office useless by unplugging our lamps and power strips and clogging up the outlets, and then failed/refused to send anyone to fix it for almost two weeks The new crew was revolted by how bad the initial installation was and corrected some of the more egregious problems, but the corrected installation still failed to function properly Defenders can't/won't send a repair crew to fix the second installation for another ten days Their agents promise to call a "security manager" to seek a higher priority, but nothing ever happens I have been civil with their agents, but one was surly with me when I protested the ten day wait for yet another repair, falsely saying he hadn't said ten days and promising to "call the security manager" and get back with me He didn't get back with me ADT is apologetic but says the problem is out of its hands for the first days Don't deal with either company!

My alarm package was supposed to include a cellular unit, but come to find out, one was never installed

I have been a loyal ADT (formerly Brinks) Customer since In 2016, I contacted the retention/loyalty team to inquire about upgrade options and was offered the ADT Pulse Live Video package for $29/month (a great deal, which I appreciate) as well as equipment upgradesA key impetus and selling point for my pursuing this upgrade was that signals would be sent via Internet and Cellular (instead of phone), which meant that I would be able to eliminate my landlineI suspect that the oversight occurred when the original salesperson "ordered" your new Total Security panel, which includes cellular, but the installer decided instead to install a SafeWatch panel because it meant he could keep my original hardwired, recessed sensorsFor clarity, I did not have a preference either way, but the *** system has worked very well out fine outside of this issu

I don't feel secure with your system
I realized Adt has a major security problem

I have realized your home security systems have a security problem that I will not discuss in print or on the internet because it could effect all your customers with your fob system
My experience this weekend indicates you are not a 24/7security company
This weekend I felt no security from your system do to the lack of service on Adt end
We were told a technician can only come out to our home on Monday We had a car Breakin on Saturday with a fob been taken I will go in greater detail when a representative gives me a call
I felt that your company and call centers need to learn about security

ADT and their *** ** office did not install and did not monitor smoke and heat detectors as per my contract with them

If you could, do not sign up services with ADTThe experience that I had with them is very badI am still on the phone with them after mins waitBasically, you have to be very careful when you signing up your plan because the technician come over lies about the fees that they chargeADT use vendors to get their business, and when there is a problem, they have no knowledge about the contract that was signedI don't know why they put me on hold for that long when I am simply asking to remove one feature from my services since I don't use it after three month trialIt is simple that they remove the service from my account and stop charging me for the serviceHowever, it has been mins wait, (apparently Dean just put me on hold, I don't even know whether he is working on my case or not), I am writing this reviewI actually want to see how long will they keep me on hold or they just hang up the phoneUnbelievable, and unacceptableI can't believe a company like this size will actually not keep their wordsI was told I can cancel the service that I don't need anytime and won't be charge for it as long as I keep the contractSo the technician (kyle) lied like that? Bait and Switch
I am a customer of ADT since In June I was offered Pulse for per month with a new system installation for Technician came at my home and he couldn't install at that time due to gfci switchI said I will take another appointment laterThey started immediately charging I called them back again in August after summer vacation to schedule appointmentThey said that they will do the installation but billing department told me that now price will per monthI have to ask them to pull back the history from June and they were able to see the offered priceI was told that I will receive a call back on sameI never got a call backSo I called back again Sep i.e todayNow they said they cannot even offer My installation is going to $(or so) didn't paid that much attentionAlso my monthly price is going to be By the way it is all recorded in the notes unless ADT (confirmed by agents) deletes it they will see al

ADT falsely charged me monthly fees and cancellation fees after completing a moveThey then refunded the monthly fees into the wrong account

Ive had adt for many years and felt they were very over priced for the quality and productHowever for the past 4-months I have been bombarded with constant calls at work about there defective and out dated productI told them many many times not to call during my work hours which are 8am to 9pm monday through saturday and 12-6pm on sundaysWith a thought od decency they relentlessly called and called and calledit was over the topthey even called my ex wife's phone who knows how they got that numbersome people have to work and cannot be harrassedIf Im not mistaken its per harassing call in fines

Contract cancellation fee dispute - per contract my fee should have been waived, it was not
I had ADT installed at my home at ** *** ** in March I was forced to move due to unsafe neighborhood August 29,I called ADT to cancel my service and they said I would owe them $1,or I could have the service moved to my new home I attempted to explain my situation, and she said there was no way I could get the fee waived and that I could not cancel my service with them without paying the amount in full And that as long as my account wasn't canceled I was responsible for the alarm system and any calls that came from it I explained I don't live there anymore and have no access to the home She said it didn't matter and that I must pay in full before they could turn off the system She was the opposite of helpful and in fact was so awful that I ended up in tearsAfter much back and forth she offered to reduce the fee by 50% but I had to pay it while I was on the phon

Removal of residential security system equipment requires ADT tools, which fact ADT does not communicate
ADT advertises and communicates, deceptivelyADT says they will not remove equipment, but does not share that only their technicians have screw drivers with tiny square headsTo remove equipment, homeowner must cut the equipment out of the walls and doorsI've offered to pay a service charge for removal or pay to borrow the tool, and was told the next homeowner might want the system, so it's policy not to help me remove it

We requested a cancellation on this account in writing to this corporate officeThe person that entered into the contract has passed awayWe have not used their services and wanted it cancelled The only response we are getting is phone calls from rude customer service callers and now an "attorney" as we are in collections

ADT continued to bill me after I cancelled my account due to a moveAfter I called to fix that, the customer service rep confirmed that service was cancelled, however billing was notThere was no contract in place, so she admitted this was a mistake on their behalf
She transferred me to the account care department, where the agent began to question me whether months ago I was asked for password, then processed to tell me that I never called to cancel!!! The account care rep refused to reverse the charges and advised me to petition ADT corporate to open a dispute
I never experienced such predatory billingADT provided no service, I had no contract but they still want months worth of billing to collect, with impunityAVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

"Hello*** I hope this inMail isn't to much of an intrusionI was reaching out to you today because I canceled my account today due to the gateway being non functional last night during a robbery next doorI was asked by Law Enforcement and our communities security to provide video footage If I was able tooWhen I logged into pulse.adt Is when I first realized that the cameras had been offline and we're currentlyWhen I woke this morning they were back online and functioning properlyI contacted support today to ask why I was not notified that the cameras were offline and was told that that's not something ADT will monitor for, it will monitor for ADT system but not the cameras because it was not possible to do soThe representative went on to say that we, consumer would first no if we tried logging into the system and we either couldn't or if we could log in we wold see that it was offline as I didUnderstanding that portion I explained that if that's the case ADT can in-fact monitor if surveillance goes down via the web application fairly easyI know I've undoubtedly oversimplified a very complex system you oversee at ADT, I'm only speaking from that little window of monitoring whether a system/service has gone down, offline, etcI explained that I was no longer comfortable keeping ADT knowing this and the representative canceled my accountHe did explain that I am in a year contract so early termination of the contract was roughly $

So essentially people you need to understand, ADT does not report to you if your camera system is downAs this picture shows it is possible http://e.dika.io/ifde ADT does not report or even know if your whole security system has gone offline as the "social media specialist" told me just now that there is nothing showing either my security system or camera system were offlineTo add insult to injury, they respond to very valid questioning of defects of their system with denial of fault on their endI'm writing this review as a current customer which has canceled their contract early and will be terminated Feb4thI will probably end up having to pay the $early cancelation fee now and have to fight this in courtThe unfortunate fact is I'm very able to do this and willing but do you want to deal with a company that you might have to go to court with just to defend your position with valid arguments? Please stay away from ADT and look into other alternatives

Did not cancel service, charged cancellation fee, receiving collection calls
I recently moved into a new house and moved my ADT service ADT came out and installed new equipment in my house Even though I did not cancel my service I was charged a $fee I spoke to two different agents yesterday who assured me this was corrected however I am now receiving collections calls from ADT (just received my 2nd one) I have been told with each collection call that I will not be receiving further calls however they continue to call me I don't know how much clearer I can make this: I DID NOT CANCEL MY SERVICE THEREFORE I SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CHARGED A CANCELLATION FEE

They overcharge me and refuse to refund me the difference because I cancel the service
On May 2nd, I called to give my day notice cancelation of my service with adt, after the expiration of a year contractThe customer service inqure why was the reason I wanted to cancel and I told her that I was switching to *** *** as their price is $per month instead of the $per month ADT is chargingThe customer representative ofer me to match the price if I stayed with adtI agreed and she charged me for that month $
On June 6, I noticed a charge from adt for $96.89, I called to inquire and the customer service agent said that the change didn't go though and I got charged the regular $plus the difference from the previous monthHe said he will refund $to make it $and said that adt could raise their prices on me at any time without notifiing me, I said then that I just wanted to give the day to cancel the service, he procesed the request

I have repeatedly ask the company to come out and fix there equipment they have refused for months but wish me to pay my bill for those months
Last spring my system for security stopped workingI am blind and can not figure out what they are talking about when I called to ask for helpI asked them to come out and fix itThey refused toI paid the bill and monthly called them because the system did not workIn August three months later I stopped paying the bill and they still refused to fix the systemIn Dec, they said if I paid the bill they would fix the system, I refused to pay, they told them to set up an appt for Tuesday, they refused to show upNow they are demanding I pay over $before they will come out and fix the system

I'm being asked to pay a $disconnect fee for a contact I never signed
I called ADT in March of to disconnect due to high cost,and me finding a lower service cost for the same service I was instead told that ADT would match the competitor pricing if I agreed to a month contract After being told there was no disconnect fee if I were to move I agreed to the contract
Fast forward to last month I called ADT to cancel my service because I am moving due to a job change The ADT Representative said that there would a $disconnect fee because I hadn't fulfilled the contract agreed tooBasicly I was mislead into this agreement and I sign nothing
I have has no luck trying to resolve this with ADT to this date despite numerous phone calls I don't want this going to collections and damage my credit

After new alarm system features for $paid June 24, 2018, I was charged $again on July in error with no resolution as of Sept
On June 24, I had new features installed on an existing ADT alarm system (acct XXXXXXXXX, *** *** ** Unit ** XXXXX) that I was paying $per month for monitoring Prior to installation, on June 4, I agreed to pay $per month fee for monitoring including the new features after installation On the day of installation, June 24, after all work was completed and verified working, I paid installation fee of $with a *** card *** On August after a scheduled monthly bill automatic payment, I saw that I was charged an unusual monthly fee for my ADT service, $instead of former $or new $per contract I signed June prior to installation of new features I checked the billing history on my account and saw that I was charged the same $install fee a second time on July Below is table of b

On this company installed their alarm services It has never worked They sent out a technician on 03-16-who said it was not installed correctly The put in a new system I was unable to use the app for this new system I had concerns about it ever working correctly In 04-12-they removed their equipment however they are now telling me I owe them for the three year contact which amounts to a monthOn 05-24-they billed my credit card and will continue to do so for three years
