Affirm.com Reviews (%countItem)

I have had 2 loans, one is completely paid off and the 2nd I am making payments for on time even through a deferrment through the Covid19. The deferrment should have been for only 1 month which was asked for in April. It is now June and I attempted to utilize them for another purchase which was denied because they said I am still in deferrment. If the deferrment was for only 1 month which would have been May because the deferrment was asked for in April, and it is now June, why am I still in deferrment? When you ask for someone who can help you with removing the deferrment or why it is still on there when they tell you it was for only one month, they give you to a supervisor who has no more authority than the person you originally speak to. They have no customer loyalty and no pursuit of customer satisfaction. I will never utilize their services again and I would advise everyone to not especially based off of the numerous negative reviews

Was denied $200 loan? What kinda criteria do they require ? My credit history and income shoulda went thru with no problem. The supposed ease to use affirm is a better way slogan I would dispute. Affirm you really need to do better. Misleading !

This company will not work with me regarding returned items. I also received an alert from my credit card that a charge was added to my account for some charity in India. This happened after I used AFFIRM. They are not a very customer service friendly company. Looks like they just want to take your money and run. Not a good company to borrow from since they do not want to work with their customers.

I have taken out 4 loans with Affirm. The first 3 were successful and easy. This company is great - as long as you don't have a problem with them.
The 4th was an absolute nightmare. After purchasing a laptop through Electronic Express - which I was referred to through Affirms website - Electronic Express failed to ship the laptop for 3 weeks (This is on Electronic Express, not Affirm). When Electronic Express failed to deliver I cancelled the order.
11 phone calls later between both Electronic Express and Affirm, and the issue is still not resolved. Electronic Express says they cancelled the order 2 months ago, but Affirm swears they have not received payment. I opened a dispute with Affirm, who requested information from me about the order. Upon submission of the data - Affirm replied with "We cannot open your attachments (attachments of emails from Electronic Express). Please resubmit your data". I resubmitted a timeline of the data, including the text of said emails. After about another week, I received an email from Affirm saying "You did not provide the data and you are responsible for the charges".
I sent another email to affirm, basically stating that their business practices were fraudulent and lazy, as this could have been resolved simply by Affirm picking up the phone and confirming with Electronic Express that the order was cancelled 2 months ago - however Affirm chose to take the lazy route, failed to contact anyone, denied the claim and left the ownership on me. They're charging me interest on this loan - so they had no incentive to contact anyone as they get to keep billing me (my perspective on their corrupt practice).
I notified Affirm that I would no longer do business with them, and that I would be reporting them to the Revdex.com. Affirm charged me for 2 months interest on a loan for a product that was never shipped to me because they were too lazy to contact Electronic Express in my dispute, and made it as difficult as possible for me to provide them with the information they requested - and stated that the information I provided was insufficient (I provided them dates of contact, email transactions between myself and electronic express, order numbers, cancellation dates - everything I had).

This company is fine if you have zero problems, but the minute you have a problem they will do as little as possible to keep collecting interest from you. Buyer beware.

I received an email saying something about an account I had never opened. I had never heard of Affirm nor will I need their services. I wrote a letter to customer service stating that I want to delete my ‘account’, return letter explained that I have to call for this purpose. I have refused to do this so that my phone number is not on any more fraudulent data than already is. I do want to know, now, what information these people have on me so as to open a line of credit. I will be calling the Revdex.com and consumer protection agencies.

Terrible company that acts as if they didn't receive payment after receiving payment. Applying penalties on top of penalties and then sells clients information. I stopped working for them because they are unethical.

Approved then got a denial letter. But still have a valid payment plan.

My account information was hacked into. The first time, someone had tried 2-3x to make a few thousand dollar purchase but couldn’t verify my identity. The second time, the successfully made a $188 purchase from Waltmart***. I would not recommend using this company because of there inability to secure your personal information. Additionally, the company had promised me that my information on my account was going to be locked after the first attempts, and no one would be able to make any other loans or try to make them. Days later someone successfully gets a loan! Resolution from customer service is terrible, and a “manager” is just another incapable individual to make any changes on your account to help stop thieves. They told me it would take 2-5 business days for the issue to get looked at to make sure it really was fraud. The only reason I couldn’t fully close my account the first time, was because of a pending payment in there system. And now, I’m left wondering what other information was given to those that just accessed my entire account. DO NOT do business with this company. Your purchase for junk you don’t need, doesn’t need to compromise your identity or personal information.

I have in the past and now continue make payments for loans made by affirm for my purchases of merchandise. It's much easier for affirm to debit my bank account than to credit the same for the amount of $ 141.72. That amount still remains as an "adjustment" in my account with affirm despite said merchandise being returned to the to seller and receiving acknowledgement of the return by the seller. When I queried the seller as to where my refund was, seller responded that was a matter to be responded to by affirm. Affirm by ducking, dodging and obfuscation has not answered my queries directly as to when the "adjustment" will be made to the original payment instrument, my bank. I know Revdex.com gives them a high rating but customer reviews tell another story. Much of those reviews are very much compatible with my experience with Affirm. I would venture to say "caveat emptor" or due diligence is the responsibility of the the customer. I would also add the firms that are in this business sector and from my perspective ,Affirm, continue in a manner that is not a fair and equitable practice.

I took out a loan with Affirm back in November 2019. The loan was for a ticket to Bali booked through Alternative Airlines. My flight was scheduled to depart LAX on April 12th and arrive in Hong Kong for a 15 hour layover. The the Covid-19 outbreak started in March so I decided it would be best if I didn'ttravel. Also I am a traveler of a certain age and with preexisting health conditions so with everything that was going on I decide to cancel for my own safety and because the government was saying not to travel if you didn't have to. I contacted Alternative Airlines and Affirm hoping in the midst of a global pandemic they would be more understanding. Alternative Airlines informed me that I would have to pay a $200.00 cancellation fee and a $91.00 processing fee. I then contacted Affirm for support and was told there was nothing they could do since the loan was past sixty days but then suggested that I have my doctor write ne a note advising me against travel and submit it to Alternative Airlines which I did. Alternative Airlines nor Affirm did anything to resolve this issue. Then I was told by Affirm I would just have to wait to see if the airlines would cancel my flight and hopefully they would refund the ticket. The week of my flight I was told that my flight would be cancelled I was also told by an agent at Alternative Airlines that it would take up to three months for the refund to process. I informed them that I had just read a report that the Transportation Authority was requiring that all airlines who cancelled customers flights were required to give back refunds within seven days. I was given the obligatory customer service brush off, "We will do everything we can to speed up the process but we can't make you any promises." I then contacted Affirm to see what they could do on their end only to speak to customer service representatives and their supervisors without much satisfaction. So as it stands I was told by Affirm that I will be charged interest on a loan that was cancelled, a loan that is being held up by Alternative Airlines in which I'm sure they are gaining interest on the money and there's nothing that Affirm can do. I received another email from Alternative Airlines this morning assuring me that they were working on my claim and I should be receiving it on or around June 16th but then there would be another 5-10days before it would processed. Oh by the way I had received another email a while back from Alternative stating they would be refunding me $563.00 instead of the $603. 00 the amount of the loan. Alternative nor Affirm has been able to tell me what is the $37.00 being used for. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the sheer lack of customer service I have been provided with during these very stressful times.

In good faith I did The 30 Day Trial on Feb 27, 2020.
I decided to return the bike within the Trial amd got a return confirmation on March 25 and a pickup up
Date for April 7th. On April 7th Peloton drivers attempted to delivery me ANOTHER bike and refused to pick up the bike I had already prepared according the return specs they emailed me.

I got the bike through an AFFIRM loan because I wasn’t sure that I would like it. I didn’t , and I tried it and the classes out for 3weeks, daily. I just don’t like it and it isn’t fun or comfortable to ride for me.

SOOO... now Affirm and Peloton expect me to pay for a bike that is now in storage awaiting pickup and Peloton is still advertising on their website a “no strings attached” 30 Day trial.... that simply isn’t true...because they are using COVID 19 as an excuse to try to leave people like me stuck with a loan payment that should have been voided buy their promotional campaigns rules. .. and bike I don’t want. This thing has been in Dispute at AFFRIM since April, who say I have to keep making the payments, until Peloton picks up the bike. HELL NO! Affirm should tell Peloton to give them back their money, and stop harassing me with payment notices for something I should not have to pay! I was able to defer the loan for only 1 month with AFFIRM due to COVID-19, but it is still not resolved and now Peloton and Affirm could report me to EXPERIAN. Here’s the thing, I am blessed to be well and “ok” during this COVID 19 thing right now, but I may not be later and I am positive there are many others being defrauded who need their refund from the bike return for groceries. I even contacted the CEO of Peloton and their assistant sent me some lovely flowers, but what I really need them to do is pick up their bike so Affirm can leave me alone. If they can deliver, than can pick up, or allow people to send back the bikes or something?.... but I suspect the agenda to open another mega gym in London like the city block wide one that open in March in NYC, and the crazy money both Peloton and Affirm are making on the COVID-19 crisis has clouded some corporate policy makers’ judgement and ethics. PELOTON PICK UP YOUR BIKE AND TELL AFFIRM TO STOP ASKING ME FOR MONEY BECAUSE I AM NOT GOING TO PAY ONE SINGLE PENNY FOR THIS RETURNED BIKE. NOT ONE. Next stop...Revdex.com, and social media, then and attorney:

There is NO 30 Day Trial because they are NOT taking returns and consumers are getting stuck with a bike and a BILL. Shame on you Peloton and AFFIRM. Make it right.

I currently have a loan with affirm and this is my second one. I was going to purchase a laptop through affirm for my daughter. I received an email denying my loan due to not being able to confirm my identity. What??? That is complete nonsense since, as I stated is my second loan with affirm. When I called, the representative just talked in circles and provided me no information as to why my identity couldn't be confirmed. All she did was just read me a statement. Not helpful and this will be my very last loan with Affirm and I will not recommend this company to anyone else. Terrible customer service reps that don't even know what they are talking about.

So, I was trying to purchase a bed through eightsleep*** and on there it said "Get pre-approved for 36 months at 0% APR!" So I did. I have an email stating I've been approved for $5,000 at 0% APR for 36 months. When I try to purchase the bed, it takes me to a screen where I can choose between 3 payment options, att at a specified percent of interest, breaking it down on how much I'll be paying in interest over 36 month, then totaling the entire pay off amount at almost $5,000. This is a scam loan agency. I called and they said, "even if you're told you'll get that APR percentage, it doesn't mean you'll get it at check out."
Ok... WHAT?! ***. Stay AWAY! Not only did they lose my business, they also just cost eightsleep*** my business as well.

Do not trust this company with any of your information. I was trying to do financing for a Peloton bike and submitted my name, address, phone number and last 4 of my SSN through the Peloton website and got a request from Affirm for photos of me, me with my photo ID as well as photos of the front and back of my ID. This certainly seemed suspicious as with the information I gave them, there was no need for much more to identify me. However, I sent the requested information with the driver license number as well as the barcodes on the back blocked out. Yet I was denied the financing since they could not "verify my identity."

I have a credit score in the 800s and have not been denied a loan or credit card since my freshman year in college in 1991 when Discover told me I didn't make enough money. Affirm is suspiciously shady.

I got a legal name change and have tried numerous times to update the name on my account. I told the respresentive over the phone that the methods they are using to verify my name change isn't working and if there is an alternative, which they said there was. Yet, I was received the same request, a photo I.D.
Pennsylvania residents aren't required to retake their photo I.D. if any information has changed. We can just tape an updated card to the back of our I.D. Even though I uploaded the front and back of my I.D. with the updated card they denied my request.
My credit card companies and bank didn't even give me this much of a hard time. Just a court order and social security card with my updated name was enough, which I tried giving to Affirm multiple times.
I finally decided to close my account. Besides, this company charge interest for their pay-over-time plans which really isn't a benefit to me

This company is not what they advertise to be. They approve the credit application along with taking vital information including drivers license photo and selfie then decline the application right after.

They don't even deserve ONE star, but you have to give them one to submit!!

I would NEVER use this company, they have what is called a "virtual" card and somehow go my info and now it's been sent to a collection agency. The collection agency has received my complaint and this is under investigation with them. No one from "Affirm" can explain the "virtual" card, what was charged on it or any details and they just say I owe!

Just look at the reviews...it's pretty clear this is a company you should avoid!

BEWARE...STAY AWAY!

I believe that they use the photos to "determine" whether you are creditworthy. I have been trying to upload the photos that they requested for the past few days and was not able to do so. I began to feel as though I was being blocked. After reading some of these reviews, I'm glad I was blocked! If in fact, that's what happened! Either way, I think I dodged a bullet! And I will be looking for another company to do business with!

I have had two loans with affirm. These loans went through and I paid the off pretty quick. The third loan was denied reasoning that the amount of less than $600 couldnt be approved because I dont make enough income? Really? I make more now that when I did with the first two loans. I didnt stop working due to COVID. If the loan I tried to get through a third party company didnt ask for income information when I was ordering the product... How does Affirm know how much I make? Dont use a pandemic as a reason not to help people. Is that the reason they used? I know. Im assuming. But they shouldnt assume a person cant afford to pay a small loan.

Affirm financed a loan for SmileLove aligners, but the now SmileLove is going out of business. I have already paid $500 and still have $800 remaining. I reached out to Affirm to pause my payment plan until I can sort this out with the SmileLove directly. They gave me the generic "no" and didn't offer support at all, because I was outside of the companies 120 return policy window. I have been trying to get in touch with someone for the company for MONTHS. I used Affirm in the past...but never will again. I have had better luck and more help with my credit card companies.
