Purchased a vacation at Great wolf lodge using affirm financing. First payment was due on date of check in. We were not able to go due to Covid-19 & the hotel being shut down. I canceled my order, but had to make my first payment or they threatened to report to credit bureau. Even though I had confirmation cancel # from great wolf lodge. I made my first payment of $89 & was told it would be refunded once they received payment from Great Wolf lodge. They just refunded but only $66.61 when I called they said they didn’t refund the interest amount. This is disgraceful! I never used the purchase. Who pays interest on something they never received/used! Especially since Covid-19 is going on, I couldn’t travel even if I wanted to. I’m disgusted that a company would treat people this way during a pandemic. The $22 is due to me.

hank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. P's Revdex.com complaint, which states her concern with a refund she received.Affirm’s records show that Ms. P contacted Affirm on March 17, 2020 stating that she was rescheduling her trip and wanted to know if payments on her loan (ID: 3***-4IOE) would be delayed until then. An Affirm Customer Care Agent informed Mr. P that she was responsible for the loan as soon as it processed. The Agent advised Ms. P that all returns and refunds were subject to the merchant’s policies. Therefore, until a refund has posted on her account, Ms. P should make timely payments on her loan as Affirm reports to the credit bureau on a regular basis. Ms. P was informed that any payments that she made would be refunded back to the original payment instrument, minus any accrued interest paid, if the merchant applied arefund to her loan.Ms. P made a payment of $89.20 on her loan on April 4, 2020. The merchant applied a refund to the loan on April 8, 2020, and Ms. P was refunded $66.21 back to her original payment instrument. In order for Affirm to operate and facilitate Ms. P's loan, we apply an interest rate that accrues throughout the loan period and is non-refundable. Similar to a revolving line of credit or a credit card, Affirm applied the purchase refund to the principal loan balance correctly. However, as a one-time courtesy, Affirm has refunded the interest accrued in the amount of $22.59 on Ms. P's loan 3***-4IOE. This refund will take 7 to 10 business days to be reflected back to Ms. P's original payment method. In the event that Ms. P has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

I went to apply for an affirm loan to get a peloton and it denied me saying my identification info is invalid. One day checking my credit repost I saw several open affirm accounts on my report and come to find out my ex boyfriend applied with his own information it gave him credit under his name but my ssn. We have tried number ours times to get ahold of someone but to no avail, and I have filed disputes on my credit report twice with it coming back both times as a legit debt and them denying my dispute. This company needs to be sued!!! This is so absolutely insane!!

This company is constantly sending me email about a loan I never had with them. I have emailed them several times. I supposivly got a loan in December. Not sure why would have ever got a loan. I tried to tell them.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. M's Revdex.com complaint, which states her concern with an unauthorized loan on her account.Affirm’s records show that Ms. M obtained a loan (ID: KD89-DO77) on December 30, 2019. Ms. M first contacted Affirm regarding her loan on March 16, 2020. Ms. M stated that she was not aware of what Affirm was and did not have an active loan with us. Ms. M was encouraged to call in so that our Affirm Customer Care Agents could gather information to investigate the issue further. Ms. M did not contact Affirm again until April 14, 2020 where she reiterated that she did not have a loan with us. Ms. M's concern was escalated when she informed Affirm that she would not be able to call in due to poor cell phone reception in her area. Affirm's Risk Operations team reviewed Ms. M's account and found her responsible for the loan with the information that was on file. Ms. M was informed of the specific item purchased and was advised to complete and return the Affirm Customer Protection Affidavit if she would like Affirm to continue the investigation. Ms. M never responded to this follow up, and soon after, fully paid off her Affirm loan.In the event that Ms. M has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

I used Affirm to finance a purchase made through Wayfair. However, Wayfair cancelled my whole order twice because my billing and shipping addressed were different. This is because we were moving to a new state. So I reached out to Affirm to let them know Wayfair had cancelled the orders. I was told they would adjust my account and to wait 3-5 business days. Well this occurred on march 17th. It is now April 13th and they have still not adjusted my loan. I have called 5 times and have an open email chain with them. Still not response. They have asked me me to submit all kinds of cancellation emails and invoices proving the cancellation which I have done and still they will not readjust the loan. Additionally, Wayfair agents have called them twice saying they cancelled the order. However, Affirm has not readjusted the loan and they say I owe $4000 for items I never received. I am so very frustrated and at my wits end.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. T's Revdex.com complaint. Affirm has reviewed Ms. T's complaint, which states her concern with a loan that is currently stuck in a merchant processing state.Affirm records show that Ms. T contacted Affirm on March 19, 2020 stating that her order (Loan ID: LCK3-SNDQ) had been altered by the merchant, and wanted the loan updated to reflect the items she obtained. Ms. T sent in documentation showing that the order had been revised on March 23, 2020. An Affirm Customer Care Agent informed Ms. T that the loan was still in the merchant processing stage, and nothing could be altered by Affirm until the merchant took action. Ms. T was informed that Affirm had contacted the merchant to reach a resolution to the issue. At this time, Affirm is still waiting on the merchant to respond to Affirm's communications. Affirm has been in contact with Ms. T during this process, and provided an update on the situation on April 16, 2020.In the event that Ms. T has any further questions, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

I purchased 4 tickets last month for work from CheapOAir(terrible and already wrote a review) and of coarse my flight was cancelled do to Cover-19. Affirm is trying to tell me I am responsible for the full amount since CheapOAir gave me an airlines voucher. Problem is I also purchased trip insurance and should be refunded. Both groups are crooks!! I will never use them again!

I am on my 3rd loan with Affirm. I have been paying them faithfully. My husband lost his job last month. I asked them if I could make my loan payment just TWO WEEKS LATER. I was met with a flat no. There customer service is atrocious. I will never use their services again.

Used 2 different times with no problems paid them like normal with actual lower credit score. Now tried to use them again to buy something and split the payments just to be easy on my wallet... 9 months later here I am with a better credit score and now I’m being denied. It literally makes zero sense. I will never try to use them again and I just bought what I want out right screw this company, never again. I think they discriminate.

I payed the company off, then Affirm shipped me A refund. Now i'm in collection for the money they refunded me. avoid them.

Dangerous money to accept from a company that does absolutely nothing to either protect the consumer or ensure satisfaction. Affirm, like many San Francisco Bay Area employers todays, is staffed by predatory lenders who are capitalizing on the need for lower income people to pay their bills and get ahead at the same time by offering seemingly attractive long term financing at rates similar to credit cards.

When the goods do not arrive, Affirm does nothing to support any kind of resolution and instead forces the consumer to engage in a kind of multiple response process that lacks any kind of case number, any kind of point of contact and is entirely designed to find fault with the customer.

Affirm is a money making machine -- pure and simple.

Do yourself a favor and work with Paypal Credit instead -- even if you end up paying Affirm's fees and restocking fees, it's still a savings to use the 0% interest for 12 months with Paypal. After all, Affirm's CEO, Max Levchin, came from Paypal and is now offering a product that lacks Paypal's support, guarantees and sends threatening emails to you if you fail to make payments for goods that were never received.

Yet another reason why I left the Bay Area and never looked back. Awful people.

Totally full of crap. Customer Service and management unwilling to assist. Information was supposedly incorrect, they won’t even give a chance to fix nor apply again

I purchased a packed deal through Expedia.com, that included flight, hotel and rental car. The payment plan was set up through Affirm. The same day I purchased, I cancelled the flight and car, but kept the reservation for the resort. I was told the refunded would be issued within 7-10 business days. Affirm stated the refunded would be on Feb. 1. This amount was charged to my bank account on Jan. 29.
3 months later, I still have no refund - and both companies say they are responsible for the refund.

Affirm.com Response • Apr 08, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. B’s Revdex.com complaint, which states her concern with a partial refund that was applied to her Affirm loan (ID: ***-ZEQX) obtained through Expedia.

Affirm’s records indicate that Ms. B contacted Affirm on February 11, 2020 in regards to a down payment she had made towards her loan. Ms. B stated that she had received a partial refund towards her loan, but had not received the funds back to her original payment instrument. Ms. B was advised that Affirm is solely the financier of her loan and that all refunds and returns were subject to merchant policy. Therefore, she was encouraged to work with Expedia to resolve the issue.

On February 28, 2020, Ms. B contacted Affirm after not reaching a resolution with Expedia. A merchant dispute case was opened for Ms. B to further investigate the issue. Ms. B submitted chat records with Expedia for Affirm to review on March 4, 2020. This information showed that Ms. B's original loan processed for $1,819.56, less the $980.57 down payment that Ms. B submitted, which left a remaining balance of $919.99. The chat records Ms. B submitted confirmed that she was due a partial refund of $890.57. This refund amount was processed back to Ms. B’s loan on February 1, 2020. Please note that partial refunds are not applied to down payments if there is still a remaining balance on the loan, as is the case for Ms. B’s loan. In addition, Ms. B confirmed that she was only expecting a partial refund on her Affirm loan from Expedia. Therefore, the partial refund was correctly applied to Ms. B’s loan and she remains responsible for repayment of the loan balance.

In the event that Ms. B has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected]

I am rejecting this response because: AT NO TIME DID I EVER SAY I RECEIVED ANY AMOUNT OF REFUND. IF THAT WERE THE CASE, I WOULD NOT BE HAVING THE ISSUE OF NOT GETTING THE REFUND. WHEN YOU YOU RETURN MERCHANDISE, UNUSED, DO YOU NOT EXPECT A REFUND? WHY WOULD SOMEONE STILL PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT THEY RETURN, OR THIS CASE, CANCELLED? I HAVE TAKEN FURTHER STEPS WITH THE APPROPRIATE ENTITIES, BECAUSE OF THIS FRAUDULENT SCAM!!

Affirm.com Response • Apr 14, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. B's Revdex.com rebuttal. While Ms. B’s current complaint indicates she does not expect to pay for a purchase that was cancelled, please note her initial complaint confirmed that while she cancelled a portion of her purchase (flight and rental vehicle), she did not fully cancel her purchase, and therefore a full refund was not due.

Affirm’s records provide that Ms. B confirmed through the previously provided chat records with the merchant that she was only expecting to receive a partial refund of $890.57 on her loan (ID:***-ZEQX), as the remaining amount on the loan would be used for the uncancelled portion of her package.

As previously indicated, Ms. B’s loan processed for $1,819.56, less her downpayment of $980.57, resulting in a remaining balance of $919.99. Ms. B’s partial refund of $890.57 was properly refunded to the remaining balance of $919.99 on February 1, 2020.

Section 2.1.1.7 of Affirm’s Terms of Service, which Ms. B agreed to upon using Affirm’s services, provides that “payments in excess of your currently scheduled payment will be applied to your unpaid principal balance.” In accordance with Affirm’s Terms of Service, Ms. B’s partial refund of $890.57 was properly applied to the remaining unpaid principal balance of her Affirm loan, and not her downpayment amount. Ms. B remains responsible for repayment of the loan balance.

As Ms. B has confirmed the partial refund amount, should she had further documentation to support that she was due a full refund, she should provide it for review. As stated in Affirm's Terms of Service Section 2.1.1.9 Prepayment Refund: "You are entitled to a refund of any amounts you pay in excess of the remaining principal balance and accrued interest as of the date of prepayment." As the partial refund amount was not in excess of the remaining principal balance, a direct refund was not provided to Ms. B’s original downpayment method. Affirm’s records confirm that Ms. B's partial refund was applied correctly to her loan.

In the event that Ms. B has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

Revdex.com:
For months, I have asked if it would be applied to the resort reservation - which I had also said, would be perfectly fine with me - if that COULD be VERIFIED! But not once has this EVER been confirmed. This would have avoided the whole issue if this would have been communicated to me. Instead, I got the runaround, making me believe that no one knew where my money had gone. Competent communication is a beautiful thing!

I ordered the Nectar Mattress with a buy mattress and get 3 free items special. Fin***d via AFFIRM. The cost was $890. Affirm says the cost is $1169 and therefore approval with there company was a maximum $1000 and I would need to pay additional amount which I did. My brain started churning the $169 down payment was based on $1169 purchase in which I only spent $890.Ive put serval requests to Affirm to reverse that $162 charge to my VISA the refuse saying they want to reduce monthly payment 9 months instead of 12 and refuse to put the money back on my personal VISA. It makes no sense to have to pay AFFIRM and my Credit card company interest. I mtried to even c***l total order with NECTAR they said Im stuck with product for 30 days minimum.

Affirm.com Response • Apr 07, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. N’s Revdex.com concerning her claim regarding a missing refund on her Affirm loan.

Affirm’s records provide that Ms. N obtained 2 loans with her Affirm account. Ms. N obtained a loan ( Affirm loan ID: ***-AA5L) for a purchase with Nectar on March 19, 2020, for which she made a downpayment of $42.53. On March 20, 2020, Affirm received an adjustment from Nectar for $1,042.53, which settled the loan in full, and the downpayment of $42.53 was refunded to the payment method that Ms. N used when she confirmed the loan.

On March 19, 2020, Ms. N also applied for another loan (Affirm loan ID: ***-YBFV) to use for a purchase with Resident Home, in the amount of $1,162.00. Ms. N was approved for a loan amount of $1,000 and thus, she was required to make a downpayment of $162.00. Affirm received two partial adjustments from the merchant, for $11.80 on March 22, 2020, and $270.80 on March 23, 2020. Pursuant to Affirm’s Terms of Service, which Ms. N agreed to upon using Affirm Services, Section 2.1.8 explains that such payments “will be applied to your unpaid principal bal*** and will not be used toward your next scheduled payment.” Depending on the amount of the partial refund, and how many payments are left in the payment schedule, partial refunds may result in a lower final payment, fewer payments overall, or both. Based upon the same, Ms. N’s partial refunds were correctly applied to her loan and her repayment terms are accurate.

If Ms. N has any documentation to substantiate that she is due a full refund, we encourage her to either reach out to the merchant, Resident Home, to issue an additional refund to her loan, or to provide this evidence to [email protected] so that Affirm may follow-up with the merchant on her behalf. As it stands, Ms. N is responsible for repaying the remaining bal*** on her loan, and her next payment is due on April 23, 2020 for $97.47.

In the event Ms. N has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

The first loan required on a $42 dollar down payment but was the wrong special deal. This was resolved.
The second loan was smaller credit utilization "sale amount 879 dollars" and required $162 dollar down payment projecting that the complete order was for $1162 credit approval of $1000 and difference paid by me. Three times down payment for a smaller purchase. Your agent advised me as she keyed in the transaction your computer system was having challenges and the correct special was not popping up that would not be for $1162 but in order for the purchase completion on the "better" deal and to get us off the phone to call and get down payment corrected and bal*** returned to my personal credit card. Not adjusting bal*** on purchase amount of $879.

Affirm.com Response • Apr 14, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. N's Revdex.com rebuttal. As previously explained to Ms. N, Affirm's Terms of Service Section 2.1.8, which Ms. N agreed to upon accepting the loan terms, states that refunds "will be applied to your unpaid principal bal***". Partial refunds may result in a lower final payment, fewer payments overall, or both. In this inst***, Ms. N's loan was reduced from 12 months to 9 months. This adjustment cannot be changed. Ms. N states that an Affirm Customer Care Agent was having challenges inputting the correct order information during checkout. As Affirm handles the financing of Ms. N's purchase, our Agents do not assist with any transactions at checkout. We encourage Ms. N to contact the merchant directly regarding any issues with Agents during her transaction. In the event Ms. N has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

Hello
Please stop insulting my intelligence. I never said your company placed the order. You both have left just a bad tase in my mouth. I tried to return item even before I opened it and was told no. I do not wish to do busi ess with Affirm nor Nectar. When logging on to AFfirm account it reflects purchase amount maybe you need to clean that up to reflect corrected purchase amount to us who speak English. You are playing with people too much. I should have gone to Revdex.com website and I would've seen you poor rating. Please Update purchase amount to match monthly payments to be trusted that you have done what is right. I will never use your company again and do my best to tell the WORLD not to use you for anything.

This is a follow-up message in regards to complaint: 14184386,

After receiving affirm.com’s response on 3/11, I reached out to [email protected] as they instructed and have never received a reply. I went back to Revdex.com to mark the correspondence from them as “unacceptable”, but when I got back to my claim I saw it had been closed. Per the original claim, I had used the platform for years and have a perfect payment history. Within the past few weeks they told me I no longer qualify although I am still paying them and they won’t let me use the platform. I am not happy with how they handled the situation. They lied to me by telling me there were no restrictions, then ignored the email I sent asking for clarification.

Affirm.com Response • Apr 08, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. C’s Revdex.com complaint regarding his prequalification declination.

Per our investigation, Affirm received an initial Revdex.com complaint from Mr. C on February 26, 2020, regarding his concern with not being able to access his Affirm account due to an active bankruptcy filing on his Experian report. Based upon the narrative provided in Mr. C’s initial complaint Affirm reviewed Mr. C’s Affirm Account; Affirm did not find any restrictions on Mr. C’s account and as a result the claim was closed.

Thereafter, on March 26, 2020, Affirm received Mr. C’s present Revdex.com complaint, which indicates his concern regarding his most recent loan application with Affirm being declined. Upon investigation, Affirm’s records provide that Mr. C received a prequalification decline because he has an active bankruptcy on his Experian report. If Mr. C did not file for bankruptcy or has filed but has since dismissed these charges, we advise referring to this Experian resource: https://link.zixcentral.com/u/c195b216/sGe96Md56hGk9yjlhnsoMg?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.experian.com%2Fblogs%2Fask-experian%2Fpublic-records-that-appear-on-your-report%2F and to contact Experian directly to update his report.

Please note, each loan is underwritten separately and previous approval does not guarantee approval. If Mr. C has never filed for bankruptcy, we ask that he reach out to the credit bureau to determine if there is inaccurate information contained in his report. Affirm encourages Mr. C to provide us a screenshot of his report to confirm that the bankruptcy is no longer active, so we can investigate his request further.

Regarding Mr. C’s Affirm loan XR83-9W1F, used for a purchase with Sam Ash, Affirm’s records provide that Mr. C received an adjustment of $53.62 on February 18, 2020. Affirm has confirmed that the adjustment has been applied correctly to his loan. If an overdue or next due payment is on the current loan, the adjustment will first apply to that amount. If the loan payments are up to date and current, the adjustment will be applied to the principal balance, and shorten the repayment installments at the end of the loan.

Pursuant to Affirm’s Terms of Service, which Mr. C agreed to be bound to by using Affirm Services, Section 2.1.8, explains that such payments “will be applied to your unpaid principal balance and will not be used toward your next scheduled payment.” Depending on the amount of the partial refund, and how many payments are left in the payment schedule, partial refunds may result in a lower final payment, fewer payments overall, or both. In this case, Mr. C’s loan has been adjusted to 5 payments versus 6, with the overdue payment being the first priority for the refund.

In the event Mr. C has any further questions or concerns, we encourage him to reach out directly to [email protected].

I am rejecting this response because:

I filed for bankruptcy in 2016, the first time I used affirm was in 2018. Affirm approved new for my first loan, following a background check, in 2018. I did not use the service again until 2019, when you had no problem approving me for 11 different loans/transactions. All of which were paid in full, and no payment was ever missed. How come you all-of-a-sudden have an issue with my account? You pulled my credit report in 2018 and still approved me for credit; credit that I have repaid. I don’t believe there are legal grounds to deny me based on the fact that there is no new delinquent marks on my credit history. I was approved with the knowledge of my credit report, and my credit score has only jumped since then, therefore it would be illegal to refuse me service since you had prior knowledge, I had zero missed payments, and my credit score leaped positively

Sincerely,

D*** C

These folks show up on my credit report, I inform them I’ve never heard of them, I have nothing negative on my credit report except now them for an item I’ve never heard of. I’ve sent 5 emails they won’t return anything to me or give me debt information but fought to keep it on my credit report! Now they have that I owe them thousands and will not listen to me or communicate in anyway when I explain it’s not my bill!. The number they list on the credit report is a fake number I don’t know what to do at this point. They marked it as not paid and gave me my first ever credit ding, it’s destroying my credit 22 paid on time never late accounts and these people post one item not mine and ruin my credit.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. M's Revdex.com complaint regarding an unauthorized loan (PXAG-J9H9) that was taken out utilizing his information.Per our investigation, Affirm’s records show that Mr. M reported the unauthorized loan on February 20, 2020. Affirm advised Mr. M that the case was escalated to Affirm's Account Safety team for review and to expect an update within 3-5 business days.

On February 26, 2020, Affirm's Account Safety team determined that the loan was not unauthorized, given the limited information available. Affirm responded to Mr. M on the same day, informing him that he remained responsible for the repayment of the loan. At that time, Affirm also provided him with Affirm's Consumer Protection Affidavit form, which he could submit for a new investigation into the claim.

Mr. M reached out to Affirm multiple times from February 26, 2020 through March 15, 2020 and was advised that Affirm would need additional information, such as the Consumer Protection Affidavit, to continue the investigation into the unauthorized loan claim. To date, Affirm has not received the completed Consumer Protection Affidavit.

If Mr. M would like further consideration of this investigation, we encourage him to fill out an Affirm Customer Protection Affidavit form, which was included in the email Affirm sent on February 26, 2020. We understand that Mr. M has concerns regarding data security, but rest assured that Affirm stores and processes consumer informationwhile maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. Additionally, additional security measures are maintained to guard against unauthorized access to systems including safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption. In the event Mr. M has any further questions or concerns, we encourage him to contact [email protected] directly.

I am rejecting this response because

the company is outright lying, they told me they emailed me something and I explained I don’t do online, and my virus protection on my computer flagged their email as a virus. There was a credit alert telling no one to extend credit to me without verification and I demanded all proof be sent via mail to me. They have yet to send me Anything in my five plus attempts to get ahold of them. Then to make it worse they have no put a non payment on my credit! During this pandemic when I need my credit that I’ve so protected all my life this horrific no integrity having company, with a fake number they place on your credit report... so you can’t even call and talk to a person the number isn’t even in service anyone can verify that themselves...! I’ve got screenshots of me begging them to call me and clear it up. They messed up, didn’t certify who they were loaning to, and expect me to pay for it. The police won’t even take my report they said there closed until further notice to non violent crimes due to the corona virus! Me and ten employees are being destroyed by this company’s incompetence and if they can’t get there act Together with this process the next step is suing them. Totally terrible company I wouldn’t recommend doing anything with them, a perfect credit report on all three bureaus, 23 accounts not a single missed payment over 20 years except these fraudsters. You conned the wrong person I fully intend to punish affirm to the full extend aloud to me by law, and now lying saying they sent me the proof I’m entitled to under the law. Please again send me in mail all evidence you obtained, the fake signature ect. And send certified mail I don’t want anymore lies saying it was sent.

They have ignored all other requests by me. Number two, it’s my credit that was stolen I’m not providing you with my ID so that you guys have it like you were supposed to have before extending credit. I had a security block on my report with one credit bureau and all three credit reports had a statement saying I was a victim of identity theft do not extend credit ONE MONTH PRIOR TO YOOUR SUPPOSED LOAN TO ME. Why you would do that I have no clue. I demand all proof of said loan as I am legally entitled to as per the FCRA laws, as well as Ohio’s consumer protection laws. Please send me everything you have obtained that made you feel like you could destroy my credit along with my buesness and my employees lives. do not send it by email send it by USPS certified mail as I sent you the demand that you ignored. You havnt offered me anything to make this right, just demanded me send you stuff. No not how it works..there is an open police report as of November a month before you supposedly extended 3,000$ plus dollars without any ID or proof of identity as required in the patriot act.you send me the proof of the debt, where you sent the check to, the signed documents, and anything else proving this debt is real. You claim you researched it and found me Responsible for the debt, I would like to see all the paperwork used in said investigation, because in my investigations you negligently and possibly maliciously used my credit without taking basic precautions to ensure and stop criminal activity. Also you have placed a phone number to call on my credit report, I’m sure you know it is a fraudulent number, it goes to a no longer in service and doesn’t come up in google search I need your real number for the police. The number you placed on my official credit report is not in service As anyone can test, including the Revdex.com. We need to get tjis settled, you guys are waisting time, and damaging my credit, I pay all my debts but I refuse to pay a debt I didn’t make. Becore you guys I had excellent credit and could get credit from my bank or just pay cash, I have a great bank at very low interest tje last thing I need is a high interest ripoff like affirm. This needs fixed it will not go away and I will not be paying a bill that’s not mine, also I have yet to receive any hard copy of anything as I requested. Send me everything in my file. Thank you Revdex.com for getting a response, without you guys I can’t even get a response.

Sincerely,

G*** M

I am rejecting this response because:you are outright lying! You’ve sent me one email in the beginning. You just don’t want anyone else knowing what crooks you are. All our dealings can be handled via the Revdex.com. You’ve also fought to keep this fraud on my credit report even tho you know it’s fraud. You’ve yet to offer a response or a solution so you might as well stop replying if your not gonna offer help to get it off my credit. You could start by I dunno giving me a real phone number? And stop lying to the credit burea? Maybe send it via certified mail as I did you guys so you have some proof? Otherwise stop lying I check my email daily nothing new from you guys and I will not stop until your fraud is off my report. If that means suing, filing with Revdex.com to warn others whatever it takes, you can suggest we not use them every single time but it’s not happening.

Sincerely,

G*** M

I received an email from affirm on Sunday March 15,2020 in regards to a delinquent loan. Immediately I contacted Affirm in regards to this asking them about the email I had received. The agent told me that on December 30, 2020 I took a loan out for $500.00. I proceeded to explain to the agent that I did not take out any loans and there was a Fraud Alert on my account that I had put into place back in June of 2019. The agent then said that they were going to investigate and I will hear back from them when the investigation was over. On Monday March 16, 2020 I contacted the Frauds department to report this incident and I was told by the Fraud department that there was nothing on my credit from Affirm and the last activity they saw was earlier in December of 2019. On March 19, I received a follow up email from affirm in regards to their investigation. The email stated that they have received my claim that may have been unauthorized but based on the information I am responsible for the loan payments. It also stated that I'm still responsible for the payment during the appeal if I decided to appeal it. I immediately contacted Affirm once again in regards to the matter. I spoke to a young lady informing her that I did not take out any loans and also asked why was the investigation done so so quickly. She told me that I can fill out the the attached form that was sent with the email which was the Affirm Identity Theft Victim"s Complaint and Affidavit. I informed the agent that I had contacted the Fraud Department and I would be contacting them again. As soon as I hung up I called the Fraud department and they once again stated that Affirm was not on my credit report. He stated there was a fraud alert on my account so it was highly unlikely that someone could take out a loan in my name. I was then told to contact the local police and make a statement in regards to this matter. I then contacted the local Police station in Hamden, CT and filed a police report on this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have text messages from back in December to stop texting me thinking this was a fraud. Also, their emails was going to my junk mail back in December. When I originally contacted Affirm I saw on of their emails and contacted them to stop emails and to question the payment. I have contacted my local police and have a police report about this matter.

Unfortunately, Affirm cannot further investigate this unauthorized loan claim without the above-mentioned documentation.

I am rejecting this response because: Affirm has contacted me and stated that They have reviewed and concluded the investigation in my favor. I’m not sure why they are telling you a different story and is still asking for documents. This company seems very sketchy!! I went on my credit report to dispute this as well and there is nothing on there from Affirm.

Sincerely,

G*** B

No Coronavirus help. They just want your money and will report you to credit companies. DO not get a card with them!

I made a purchase for two pairs of jeans with Eddie Bauer online on 01/05/2020. The items were returned in February for a full refund, which should have been posted to my bank account around February 14, 2020. I noticed that Affirm continued to deduct money from my bank account despite the req*** from Eddie Bauer to refund the purchase. Affirm continued to deduct funds from my account, without returning about $72 worth of clothing that I returned a month ago. I reached out to Eddie Bauer who informed me that they sent a req*** to have my account refunded on February 12th. I contacted them again last week, to which they informed me that they will resend the req*** to Affirm. No matter who I speak with at Affirm, they continue to claim that they never received the req*** from Eddie Bauer. I am deeply frustrated that I paid for clothing that I do not own, and neither company wants to take responsibility for the epic failure they created. Affirm is a scam company, and everyone should be warned that this company is unscrupulous. The jeans I returned were prices at $32.00 and $39.99, which I NEVER received. My bank account does not show that the money every posted from Eddie Bauer.

Affirm.com Response • Mar 24, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. G's Revdex.com complaint concerning her claim that the refunded amount on her Affirm loan used for a purchase at Eddie Bauer (ID: ***-W0S2) is inaccurate. Affirm's records show that Ms. G confirmed her purchase for a total of $89.28 on January 7, 2020. On this date, Ms. G agreed to the terms of her loan, which indicated an APR of 0%, with 3 monthly installments. On February 13, 2020, Ms. G made a payment of $29.76, which left an unpaid loan amount of $59.52. Later that same day, the merchant processed a partial refund for $72.40. Alongside Ms. G's payment, this partial refund paid off Ms. G's loan in full and Affirm issued Ms. G a refund of $12.88 to her original payment instrument since the partial refund from Eddie Bauer was more than the unpaid remaining loan balance. Please note that Ms. G has three other loans with the same merchant and AutoPay was enabled for each of the loans. Loan BWC5-KYP7 had a purchase total of $94.73. There was an adjustment of $0.01 on December 1, 2019, two payments of $31.58 were made on December 27, 2019 and January 7, 2020, and a final payment of $31.56 was made on February 7, 2020, which paid off the loan. Loan 86M6-IV4C had a purchase total of $96.91. The merchant posted an adjustment of $28.85 on January 29, 2020 and Ms. G has made two payments of $32.30 towards the loan, which leaves a remaining balance of $3.46 due on April 6, 2020. Lastly, the total loan amount for BPRM-8S5D was $77.97. A payment of $25.99 was completed on February 13, 2020, leaving two more payments for the same amount, which are scheduled to be automatically charged on April 13, 2020 and May 13, 2020. At this time, Affirm has only received a partial refund from the merchant for loan ***-W0S2. If Ms. G has any documentation to substantiate that she is due a full refund, we encourage her to either reach out to the merchant to issue an additional refund to her loan, or to provide this evidence to [email protected] so Affirm may follow-up with the merchant on her behalf. If Ms. G has any further q***ions or concerns, we encourage her to email Affirm directly at [email protected].

Complaint: 14***

I am rejecting this response because:

Affirm refuses to respond to Eddia Bauer's req***s. As of March 27, 2020, Eddie Bauer has NOT received a response from Affirm regarding confirmation that this did receive my refund req***. Affirm is a fradulent company, that refuses to refund money from items that were returned. They can attempt to spin the narrative, but I know for a fact that they did not fulfill the req***ed refund of nearly $75 from items I purchased through EddieBauer.com. If they are ignoring the merchant itself, what makes anyone believe their lies against the consumer. I hope Affirm goes out of business due to the fraduelent, and disgustingly evil business practices.

Sincerely,

K*** G - H

Affirm.com Response • Apr 07, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. G’s Revdex.com rebuttal regarding the Eddie Bauer purchase she financed through Affirm.

At this time, Affirm has only received a partial refund from the merchant for loan ***-W0S2, in the amount of $72.40 on February 13, 2020. To date, Affirm has not received any communication from EddieBauer.com regarding Ms. G’s loan.

There appears to be some confusion regarding how Ms. G’s refund was applied. As indicated in our previous response, Ms. G’s loan was obtained in the amount of $89.28. Ms. G made one scheduled payment on the account in the amount of $29.76, leaving a remaining balance of $59.52 ($89.28-$29.76) at that time. When the $72.40 partial refund was applied, it was more than the balance remaining of $59.52, by $12.88 ($72.40-$59.52), and as a result, the excess of $12.88 was returned to Ms. G. In all, of her own funds, Ms. G only paid $16.88 to this loan ($29.76 [Ms. G’s first payment]-$12.88[amount refunded to Ms. G]) as the partial refund from the merchant, plus the amount retained from her first payment satisfied the balance of the loan ($72.40 + $16.88 = $89.28).

If Ms. G has any documentation to substantiate that she is due a full refund, we encourage her to either reach out to the merchant to issue an additional refund to her loan, or to provide this evidence to [email protected] so Affirm may follow-up with the merchant on her behalf.

Should Ms. G have any further q***ions or concerns, we encourage her to email Affirm directly at [email protected].

I am rejecting this response because: Affirm has YET to explain where the remainigns funds were applied. Eddie Bauer has acknowledged that they received my refund for the price of two jeans, yet Affirm has not honored this req***. EB sent a refund req*** 3+ to Affirm to initiate a refund, yet Affirm continued to deduct funds. I have also reported Affirm to my bank as fraudulent as they were not authorized to continue deducting funds on a purchase I DO NOT OWN!

Sincerely,

In this time when many are temporarily out of work because of “social distancing” and while there are many companies helping the consumers and allowing delayed payments, Affirm is NOT one of them. Their policy is basically pay us before feeding your family. Terrible ethics. I feel like they are the only company out there NOT helping people right now.

Once they have your money, they could care less about you.

I ordered headphones from Walmart.com using the affirm loan option and was supposed to get my package next day. The package does show it as delivered to my address the following day, however that wasn’t the case when I came home. I couldn’t locate the package anywhere and checked with my neighbors. I go back to Walmart.com where they instruct waiting up to 3 days until calling customer service. Three days late and I called to inform them of the issue. They stated they needed a police report to file a refund. I filed a police report and sent them a copy, however Walmart is claiming the police report isn’t a final copy because it’s only finalized after the police investigate and that takes months. I did everything to prove that’s not the case but it must be done via email sadly. But when I called they told me to file a dispute if I don’t want to wait months, even though nothing will come in months (as stated on FontanaPD website). That’s when I remembered it was purchased using affirm or else I could easily dispute this with my credit card. I called affirm and told them what’s happening and it fell on deaf ears. They’re going to continue billing me for charged item I never received. I was told they don’t issue refunds only the merchants do. How does a financial institution not issue refunds on their own for the better interest of the customer. Imagine a credit card company doing that, you’d never use the credit card again. I want to know I’m protected when a merchant is acting outrageous by not accepting the very legal document they asked for as sufficient enough. Affirm didn’t even want to receive a copy or a report number. So it seems I’m caught in the middle of two stubborn merchants that both are trying to keep their money, loans as that’s all they care about. I will never shop with affirm again. Horrible customer service, inaccurate approval amounts and high interest payments for a now low case company. They’re both horrible in this case, but being the smaller company you’d think you’d want to do the right thing to have a great reputation in the eye of the public compared to Walmart that will forever keep theirs despite the horrific things they’ve done to their employees, loved ones, local businesses and getting tax breaks from the government in a group effort to lower prices and monopolize.

Affirm.com Response • Mar 20, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. S's Revdex.com complaint, which states his concern regarding a refund for his Walmart.com purchase.

Affirm's records indicate Mr. S obtained the loan through Walmart.com on March 6, 2020 in the amount of $268.30. On March 9, 2020, Mr. S informed Affirm that he never received his Walmart.com purchase. Mr. S confirmed that he had yet to contact the merchant regarding this concern. Affirm's Customer Care Agent advised Mr. S to contact Walmart.com so that they could begin their investigation to locate Mr. S's order. On March 11, 2020, Walmart.com issued a full refund and Mr. S's loan was successfully refunded.

In the event Mr. S has any further questions or concerns, we encourage him to reach out directly to [email protected].

I am rejecting this response because Walmart was the one that provided the solution. However, I relieved a letter from DJI informing me that I bought insurance via Affirm and upon calling Affirm to inform them that this was a fraudulent charge, I soon realized that this can happen to anyone and they wouldn’t be able to find the account in question. She asked for all my personal information and continued asking for emails I may have used in the past in hopes that one of those emails will be linked with the fraudulent accounts. Meaning if Donald’s trumps information was used to open an affirm account but with a different email, affirm wouldn’t be able to find that account. My social didn’t help do anything. After 20 minutes of being asked to think of possible emails, I said there weren’t anymore. I was told she would somehow investigate to find this dji account. She was able to find me because she spelt my last name without me telling her what it is but later on said I wasn’t coming up in her system unless all the info matches. This may be a different issue but it’s a focus on you instead of Walmart. Walmart made the right move before you, now let’s see you do what’s right.

Sincerely,

A*** S

I am rejecting this response because:I never took a loan out for any DJI product! I called to inform their company of this and they couldn’t pull up my info with my number 909-285-8217. They apparently have another number associated with the account. I warned them of this and even looked up the product and it doesn’t seem any services were even given. They need to cancel the loan and retrieve any product they may have given out. I am the one that informed this of the fraud that has taken place. I need this to be taken care of immediately and any future credit purchases need to be confirmed with me personally. My information has been leaked before during the Equifax data breach and my identity was compromised as a result. Unfortunately, affirm doesn’t use any of the 3 major credit bureaus because all three of them are locked and have a fraud alert directing them to contact me before approving any loan or credit. I will gladly file a police report if deemed necessary.

Sincerely,

A*** S
