I personally will be contacting my attorney! NO STARS for this company but I had to put one to submit.

I would recommend searching for a different company rather than wasting your time with affirm. I’ve been a valued customer of affirm for years. I’ve taken out thousands of dollars in loans and have NEVER missed a payment. I’ve even paid off several loans 6 months in advance. I recently went to apply for a new loan only to be denied because my credit score didn’t rank high enough. When I crusty started using affirm my credit score was in the 600s, my credit score today is 741. I emailed affirm as I was confident the denial was an error and was shocked to be told “my score didn’t rank high enough.” I guess a 741 credit score is a bad score to them yet when my credit score was 620 they had no problem approving me for loans. What a joke, I recommend not wasting your time and going to a different company.

Was unwilling to help when I lose income during the pandemic.

Cant leave negative stars but would if I could. Ive had 11 past loans with affirm over the last 3 years, Never been late, Always paid off early. Just tried to apply and was denied. The stated reason is "payment history with affirm" and Delinquent loan history with affirm. Tried to call customer care and they said that was incorrect that I was denied due to my credit score which hasn't changed at all since march when I was pre-approved for 4000 dollars. With that information they said sorry and they couldn't help and wouldn't overturn my decision. Nice to see they reward loyal customers with crap like this. I wouldn't recommended them to anyone..

Terrible company to do business with. I feel sorry for anyone who is unemployed and needs to support their family. They are actually threatening people and sending people to collection during the corona-virus rather than let them defer their payments for a month or two. I was in the hospital and on short term disability with a 40% reduction in my pay. I just needed one month to get on my feet. They do not allow customers to defer because of the corona virus. The late payment will go on your Experian and ruin your credit for 7 years. I was reported late for two months when I was only 30 days late.

I hope they did not receive and federal stimulus money from us tax payers. If I find out they did I will write my Congressman and let them know what type of company this is. Please use a credit card instead. You never know what’s going to happen in the future and this company does not care about you or repeat business. All my creditors allowed me to defer my payments and worked with me. However, because of Affirm, I had to take my stimulus payment and pay them off completely. I would rather be late on my rent then deal with this company ever again. They are an appalling and greedy company that had ruined my life and others. If your are smart you will stay away.

Affirm is stating that I owe money on the loans below. But all three loans are invalid. Affirm declined payment to the merchant on 2 of the loans. I personally cancelled the other loan with the merchant due to an error with the order.

Affirm has refused to resolve and close the loans. The merchant is stating that they did not processed charges to the loans due to the purchases were cancelled for declined payment and/or by the customer. The loans are null and void.

Affirm.com Response • May 11, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. Mathews' Revdex.com complaint, which states her request to void her three pending loans ***-98ME, ***-FY1O and ***-WMBI.

Affirm’s records indicate that all three loans are currently in a pending state as Amazon has authorized the pending funds in the amount of $118.68 for loan ***-98ME on April 18, 2020, $118.68 for loan ***-FY1O on April 17, 2020, and $119.98 for loan ***-WMBI on April 16, 2020. Please note that payments are due on the loan 30 days after the merchant completes processing the order and the funds are captured by the merchant. At this time, the funds have not been captured by the merchant as the loan is still processing, therefore, no payments are due.

On April 23, 2020, Ms. Mathews reached out to Affirm asking for the loans to be voided as the orders were canceled. Affirm informed Ms. Mathews to provide documentation confirming the cancelation of the orders to void these loans. Until documentation is received, Affirm cannot void the loans. The current processing cut off times for these loans is July 17, 2020 for loan ***-98ME, July 16, 2020 for loan ***-FY1O and July 15, 2020 for loan ***-WMBI. If the funds are not captured by Amazon by these dates, the loans will be voided automatically.

In the event Ms. Mathews has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

Customer Response • May 12, 2020

Thanks Revdex.com for your help. Affirm has removed the loans from my account without any additional action on my part.

I signed up for a c pap machine. I canceled the order with the company before I ever received the merchandise. Affirm is still trying to charge me for this product when I never even received it. They demand I make monthly payments so they can charge me interest they say they do not have to repay. This is fraud, the company was not charged for this product because was canceled (not shipped and returned) so they have nothing to base their interest charges on.

Issues with refund and customer service reps were not pleasant.

I have contacted Affirm several times asking where my money went. I had to return an item to Walmart that I ordered using affirm. The product came with stripped screws so we could not out it together. We returned the Bicycle. The Walmart associate said that it would not be directly refunded to affirm, that they were going to give me a refund on a gift card receipt instead for the $184.44 bike. The gift receipt will not work. We asked for help from the employees and they said the card was locked for 24 hours. We returned several days later to the help desk and upon looking at the card the gift receipt says that someone has unloaded the gift card now leaving the balance as $0. They said I needed to contact affirm as this was technically issued through Affirm. I then called affirm and they will not acknowledge that I paid the bike off. They bring up the other bike that I have had paid off for some time. They will not address the gift card not working by any means. They say that it is not the bike I paid off. I have bank statements proving I paid this bike off. The problem we are having is that Affirm will not address the faulty gift card.

Affirm.com Response • May 06, 2020

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. F's Revdex.com complaint. Affirm has reviewed Ms. F's complaint regarding the faulty gift card she received from Walmart for her purchase financed through loan 8***S.

Affirm’s records indicate Ms. F obtained her loan 8***S for an Incline Men's Mountain Bike, Black/Yellow on March 15, 2020 for $184.44. On April 15, 2020, Affirm received a payment via MasterCard that paid off the loan in full. On April 16, 2020, Affirm received a call from Ms. F indicating that Walmart issued a gift card to refund the purchase and the gift card was faulty.

Per Affirm's dispute process, Ms. F was asked to provide documentation supporting the expected refund she was expecting on the order. Ms. F responded to Affirm with the documentation for two separate loans with similar purchases. Ms. F provided documentation of her payment made on loan 8***S via her MasterCard. Along with documentation of a pickup and return for a similar purchase with Walmart (loan 8VAW-0PHM) for an Incline Men's Mountain Bike, Red. The loan that was refunded, 8VAW-0PHM, was originally obtained on April 6, 2020 and refunded in full on April 16, 2020, before Ms. F made any payments on the loans.

Affirm responded to Ms. F and informed her that documentation for two different loans was provided in her response. As Ms. F indicates that her loan for the Black/Yellow bike should be refunded, in addition to loan 8VAW-0PHM, she will need to provide documentation supporting the refund for loan 8***S. Ms. F can send this documentation to [email protected] to help continue with the investigation.

Please note that all refunds are subject to the merchant’s policies and discretion. If Walmart issued Ms. F a gift card that is faulty, we encourage her to continue working with them directly as Affirm does not have access to fix Walmart's technical issues. If Walmart has issued a refund directly to her Affirm loan, Ms. F should send documentation to Affirm to confirm the refund so Affirm can continue the investigation. Until a refund is received from Walmart, Affirm cannot refund Ms. F's payment that was made towards loan 8***S.

In the event Ms. F has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to reach out directly to [email protected].

I do not have an active loan with them then they started taking money out of my account. They told me they have no way of researching this. They said someone must have stolen my bank information. They said I had to start the process from my bank in order to get answers. I’ve done this and my bank is very helpful. This seems like a flaw in their internal workings. I’ve now blocked “affirm” from my bank account so this won’t happen again if someone has stolen my bank account number. Needless to say I’ve lost confidence in this company.

I will never use Affirm again. Last fall we booked our spring break vacation. And we paid for it through Affirm. On February 27, 2020 I paid off the entire remaining balance of $1515.19 plus interest. But due to COVID-19, our trip was cancelled by the waterpark. The waterpark said they refunded Affirm on March 30, 2020. It is now April 23, 2020 and I still have not received a refund from Affirm for my $1515.19! I have reached out to them multiple times, and they say they have not received a refund from the waterpark. But the waterpark tells me they refunded Affirm in March 30th. I am being run in circles, and am so angry! Being laid off through this pandemic, I really need that money. Affirm is keeping my money from me, and it’s not right.

How does Affirm repay customer loyalty? Well I've been with them for 5 years and have never missed a payment, on several loans I've received from them. Now, when times are tough for them, they hit their most valuable asset (their customers) where it hurts by not approving loan requests even though I exceed all their criteria. I'll take my loyalty elsewhere. Absolutely unbelievable.

Terrible service. I will never use their service again. I disputed a loan and they sided with the company despite the fact that I had evidence to prove I was right.

Affrim use to be my favorite company to finance with. I started using Affrim about a year ago. Since that time, I have paid off all of my accounts. I purchased around six different items through Affrim and I was pleased with their service, until recently. For Christmas, I purchased two items from Cole Hann for my wife. I've always made my payments on time and a couple of times I paid them off early. This time was different because of COVID 19 my second job had to reduce my hours. The job eventually laid me off because of COVID 19. The reduction and eventually the lay off me late on my last payment even though I had paid off everything off. Because of my late payment due to COVID 19 (which they never bothered to ask how it impacted my payments) Affirm stated that my account was placed in default and the "decision is finally". I've spent up to $2500 with Affirm and this is how you treat you customers.

Twists words, wont refund interest on a refund that you ready paid so you lose money anyway. No such thing as a total refund. My item. Was defective through a company, affirm wont refund the whole amount I paid out of my pocket because they keep the interest. I never had an issue before till this. So I have a detective item that the company I purchased from recognizes but yet I now lose money on it because they want the interest I already paid into. SCAM!!!!

Honestly, if this web form would have let me enter less than 1 star or none at all I would have.
Here we are in 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic and this company has the nerve to keep demanding monthly payments, and threatening to report late payments to credit bureaus, on cancelled travel reservations. Let me explain what happened.
I bought a pricey vacation package through *** last year to take a good friend somewhere for her 50th birthday. Because of the size of the cost I thought “I’ll use Affirm and pay in installments until my tax return next year then pay it off”. Problem solved. I made all payments timely.
Along comes a global pandemic and all travel globally is impacted, including my trip. I thought “I’ll just have *** take the credit of what was paid so far and apply it to another date in the future when this is over.” Well, I cant talk to *** at all unless it is 72 hours or less in advance of the trip. At this point I have no choice but to wait to clear it up.
Meanwhile I get two notifications from Affirm via text. The first one says they partially refunded back to *** about 50% of the amount I’ve paid to them, thus far. Right afterwards I get another text from them telling me my next payment installment is due in 2 days. I’m thinking “they can’t seriously be expecting me to continue making payments on something that has been cancelled out of my control, right?”
I call Affirm and speak with a girl who basically reads from a script about how they expect me to continue making payments because I had signed the agreement to do so at time of purchase through *** and any failure to do so will be reported to credit bureaus. She then told me no additional refunds would be issued because *** hadn’t paid them the money.
Now, I understand agencies like this and their operations. If they don’t get paid from their partners then they’re out the cost. I wasn’t looking for a refund. I simply wanted the payments halted until I had an opportunity to talk to *** to sort this out. They refused and continued with the threats of credit reporting and told me there’s nothing they can do. That is where I firmly disagree.
Every company has the ability to bend their policies, especially in times of crisis. Their unwillingness to do so simply demonstrated that this is just another greedy and heartless organization who is more interested in getting what’s theirs than working with people impacted by an unforeseen circumstance.
I’m not looking to get my money refunded. I simply want an opportunity to have a period of re-evaluation to find other options for rebooking my trip. Perhaps the rates will be lower? Perhaps I’ll change the destination? I’m not sure yet but I don’t see the necessity of paying on something that is clearly not going to come to fruition at this time.
It’s disgraceful that they couldn’t have been a little more sympathetic and a little more creative in their approach to dealing with this crisis. For this reason I will NEVER use their services again and I plan to paste this message to every social media forum I can think of.

Re applied as she stated. the rates showed the same. I called back and spoke with the manager. and he stated the underwriting process is done by an automated program and doesn't give 0% to everyone we couldn't make any money if that was the case. I asked how the tier system works and how they figured rate. and he repeated himself that it's done by an automated system and that he doesn't choose the rate. Having absolutely no real answers for any questions. He made it sound like a raffle for what interest rate you would qualify for from a 550 and up for approval.

No One in customer service understands how anything within their own company actually works.
I have no idea how these people have an A ratting from the Revdex.com

How does a business send you into right off collections over one cent when you even call to resolve the issue. Even as we live in this covid19 market we still reached out to maintain a positive relationship with them, but they refused to remove the status of charge off and again over a penny that was at 120 days late? We certainly hope the our penny was not causing a hardship in their business. Clearly will not be recommended to any of friends and or family. Very disappointed!

Even during a pandemic, Affirm is dinging people's credit scores for late payments--even on items we didn't receive BECAUSE of COVID-19. Their customer service associates are rude and incompetent (didn't even read my email properly) and their website blatantly states that while they won't charge late fees, they *maystill report non-payment to credit agencies. This is morally and legally objectionable, and when you try to contact them for help, they blatantly admit it may take WEEKS to receive help. So, in the course of those weeks, you are damaging my credit, while doing nothing to assist. One thing I am sure of, I am CANCELLING this purchase and will never ever use Affirm again. I hope they close for good.

Terrible. Bait and switch through their vendor by offering 12 month term with equal payments at zero % interest. When applying they only offer 18%+ interest for 12 months. My credit score is above 820, so I called them and they stated it was due to their algorithm. Algorithm is a great excuse for bait and switch. Never do business with this company.
