Affirm.com Reviews (%countItem)

Purchased a phone for my son for Christmas, 0%APR was advertised by the phone manufacturer.

"Eligible 0% APR installment available on orders with OnePlus 7T.
Just select AFFIRM at checkout"

I clicked the 0% APR link and it took me to Affirm to get approved, I was approved and took the 12 month plan under the assumption that it was 0%, after I placed the order I reviewed my loan and I found out I was paying 15.96% APR from the approval of the loan, no grace period.
It's on me for not reading the terms right away but it's also a little bit bait and switch when they approve you and not tell you that it was not for the 0%APR.
If I had read the terms before checkout, I would have never gone with Affirm.
I was so upset, I drained my bank acct. to pay off the Affirm balance + interest.
Please be aware of Affirm, read there terms and know what you are getting, I will not be using Affirm again.

I had to stand in line for 40mins at Walmart and then call Affirm customer service only for them to tell me to wait 2 BUSINESS days to make another purchase. This has nothing to do with Walmart service but Affirm this is ridiculous!

I applied for affirm loan to get my son a new TV for Christmas.
Upon filling out the paperwork, they told me my address was not valid and could not be found in the postal system
I emailed them and explained I live in a very small town in PA and there is no mail delivery, we must obtain a post office box.
I get an automated email back telling me I must have a valid address. I then replied and supplied a copy of my drivers license that has my physical address on it.
Again I got the exact same email back. Again I reply with drivers license, gas bill and electric bill showing my physical address.
Again I received the exact same automated email. They are not even reading my emails or looking at my proof.
So forget this company something is not right with them.
I will buy him a TV with my tax refund

they sent me merchandise I did not order and refused to help me send them back, demanding that I pay for the merchandise

Affirm.com Response • Dec 27, 2019

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. Richardson's Revdex.com complaint. Affirm has reviewed Ms. Richardson's complaint, which states her concerns regarding her receiving the wrong merchandise pertaining to her purchase with eSaleRugs, for which she utilized an Affirm loan (Affirm loan ID: 76E9-GL61).
Affirm’s records indicate that Ms. Richardson obtained her Affirm loan on November 19, 2019, for a purchase through eSaleRugs. On December 5, 2019, Ms. Richardson contacted Affirm and stated that the merchandise she had received was incorrect and that she would not be making any payments on her Affirm loan until the issue was resolved. Ms. Richardson claimed the merchant was unresponsive to her concerns and made no attempt to help her return the unwanted items. A formal merchant dispute was opened on December 10, 2019, to further investigate the issue. Ms. Richardson was asked to provide documentation regarding her dispute by December 25, 2019, which to date Ms. Richardson has not yet provided. Disputes can take up to 30 days to resolve and Ms. Richardson will be notified of a decision by January 9, 2020. Ms. Richardson is not required to make a payment while the formal dispute is open.
Please note that on December 10, 2019, Affirm received an email confirming that Ms. Richardson had been able to contact the merchant and was in the process of returning the merchandise. If Ms. Richardson would like to close the formal dispute, we encourage her to contact Affirm directly.
In the event that Ms. Richardson has any further questions, we encourage her to reach out directly to

Originally made a purchase with affirm for loan terms of 29.9% (I’m
Thinking this is the APR) With a total purchase of a $1610.14, down payment $110.14, financed $1500, at 29.9% totaled $254.13 interest with an original final Balance of $1754.13. A total $56.74 and $418.70 was returned to the merchant. Cutting my loan balance owed or borrowed to less than half. The way affirm loans “work” is that the returned items purchase price is credited as an adjustment to your original loan balance. The interest is not refunded and you still have to pay the original calculated interest amount. Mine is still showing as $254.13 irregardless of the fact that I don’t have the products. So I’ve paid this far $402.50 and my balance on the loan is $297.98 to pay off today. This is for a total purchase price of $608.00 rounded, at a 29.9% interest rate. My numbers are inflated by at least $100. I’ve never seen a loan agreement that can’t adjust the entire term or payment amounts if the original
Purchase price changes. How many customers are paying interest for items purchased on credit with affirm but then when unsatisfied with the product, has to return the items to the merchant buy still owes the interest with affirm.

Affirm.com Response • Dec 13, 2019

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. Coaxum's Revdex.com complaint. Affirm has reviewed Ms. Coaxum's complaint, which states her concern at the interest charges on her Affirm loan (ID: CK2Y-V3VQ). In Ms. Coaxum's complaint, she claims Affirm customers must pay the original interest amount agreed to even after receiving a partial refund from the merchant, and claims she is being overcharged interest by Affirm. Affirm records show Ms. Coaxum confirmed her Affirm loan on September 8, 2019 for a loan amount of $1,500 at 29.92% APR. The finance charge associated to these loan terms was $254.13. Please be aware that on this date, Ms. Coaxum agreed to the terms of the loan, which states that Affirm loans are simple interest loans, meaning interest accrues daily on the unpaid principal balance, up to the amount of the finance charge, until the loan is paid in full. The merchant issued two partial refunds in the amounts of $560.74 and $418.70, on October 10, and November 1, 2019, respectively. Any partial refund applied to the loan by the merchant is applied to unpaid principal balance and interest begins to accrue on the lowered amount. Any payment made by Ms. Coaxum has a portion of the payment that is applied to the unpaid principal balance and a portion that satisfies the accrued interest. For Ms. Coaxum's loan, she has paid a total of $60.21 in interest charges to date. There is only a remaining unpaid principal balance of $288.41 left on this loan. The remaining interest charges at this time are only $9.57. Kindly note that Ms. Coaxum saved money on interest due to the partial refunds applied by the merchant. If Ms. Coaxum pays off her loan early or receives additional refunds from the merchant, this interest amount will decrease further. In the event there are further questions, we encourage Ms. Coaxum to contact Affirm directly at

This company is the worst in reporting accurate information to the credit bureau. After paying payment early to reduce the balance this company continued to report the incorrect information. Even after opening a dispute with the credit company and the credit bureau reached out to the company they still continued to report the wrong balance to the credit company. The final try I took a print screen of the balance they showed on their site, posted it in the dispute and the company still reported that their incorrect balance was correct. And Yes, I called customer no service 3 times with absolutely no help.

Get your crap together Affirm!!!

Terrible experience. Was approved and then told my card was declined. Then told I had to wait 7-10 business days for a refund. Absolutely horrible process. Then the manager/supervisor went out if his way to make me feel like a it because I had a high interest rate on my loan approval. Denying the entire reason I had to talk to him was a system error for affirm that had nothing to do with me. I was therr was a zero star rating for this piss poor company.

AWFUL!! Opened an account with Affirm for a swimming pool. About six months later my account was hacked and within two days 2 Virtual Card accounts were opened and another $2000.00 was charged to my pool account!! Called customer service or lack thereof and they told me they'd investigate and it would take 3-5 business days to look into it!!!! They wouldn't suspend the accounts - just left them open for hackers to charge on!! THE WORST SECURITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I've ever experienced. I will never use them again nor would I recommend them!

Affirm refused to refund.a Charge made to my bank account by mistake.I exsplaned to customer service that the bank automatically cancelled the original card but I have a new one. This is standard bank practice for fraud prevention purposes.Affirm totally refused to comply with my request. As a result the bank closed my account.Affirm still wishes to get paid for the products I have.I will live up to my contact with them. But I strongly do not recommend them to do anykind of business in the future.

I received an email from this company which I have never heard of. It stated they were processing my request for a loan of 300.00 for a sheepskin rug.
I then emailed asking what this was about and the email said amount/item and suggested I call them asap.
I called them the next morning where the woman stated she needed my last 4 digits of SIN number to pull a fill. Like an it, I gave it to her and she replied there was no account under my name.
I said I would all police as this was identity theft and didnt want my credit ruined. The woman was very adamant not to do that,, everything was okay and loan was not accepted. That someone had just used wrong email (?).
3 days later, I received an email stating the loan was confirmed and item would be shipped. As a side note..who asks for a loan for a sheepskin rug?!?!?
Anyhow, considering this is first time hearing of this company, I emailed them back stating I would be making a identity theft report with the police after all.
Stay away from them. They seem like a seriously bogus company scamming people.

I ordered from Phoenix Android radio using affirm , after 30 days of waiting they finally shipped it but when it was delivered it was signed by someone else.
Affirm didn’t protect me as a customer and I lost $700. DONT USE AFFIRM , use your credit card. Affirm and the merchant are working together, they dont care about you as a customer.

If for some reason a merchant has to cancel your order for whatever reasons... getting your loan cancelled out and getting your refund of your first initial payment takes nearly 2 weeks and multiple calls and emails in to customer service. I still have not received my refund because it takes 3-10 business days. Awesome! Keep vesting fake money from people, Affirm!
You will never deal directly with the same agent but, these poor reps probably get yelled at all damn day so I’m giving 1 star to the people in customer service for sticking to their script and trying to help out as much as their service handcuffs will permit. I will get my refund but this business model suggests that Affirm hopes their customers will cut their loses for the immense time consuming journey you will embark on. I have a strong dislike for greedy companies and you wouldn’t know until you have a tiny issue like mine.

I wish you had no stars! This company is the Worst company I have ever dealt with! No customer service, they lie about everything. They've had my refund since September 20, 2019, and I still don't have my money refunded back to me. Its going to be another 24 business days! Thats 60 + days.
Don't use this company

Only because there is not a "no star" option. This entity offers usurious interest rates (near 30%) - despite a great credit score - and reveal those god awful rates only after a vast amount of personal information is shared, and after you've been suckered in with a sample (10%) sample payment. Then, when you realize you've been scammed, you must contact a call center by phone and go through the infuriating process of explaining why you want to close your account. To make matters worse, the call center person says she can't delete all my personal information, so I'm assuming it will be sold repeatedly to whomever pays for that sort of thing in the scamosphere and affirm.com will retain it forever. Makes me feel slimy for having fallen for their sleezy and seductive ad. I will badmouth the practices of this online scammer until .... well, forever.

Save yourself the frustration, theft of personal data, and waste of time: just use your credit card.

On October 11th I made five payments and received my usual text message confirmation notifications from the affirm text number. It is a five digit number and clearly from affirm.
On October 15th I received five very similar text messages from a full ten digit number with an area code in my local area and a suspicious link in each one. When I opened the first text my finger slid across the link, opening my affirm app and my Face ID immediately logged me in. I knew at that time the hacker now had full access to my account.
I submitted a fraud report online through the Affirm website and then spent a few minutes searching for a direct phone number.
The first representative I spoke to had no understanding of the concept of a phishing attack and kept trying to tell me that affirm hadn’t sent out any text messages. I stated that was my reason for calling. I knew it wasn’t affirm. I asked to have my account frozen so no body to include myself could pull a loan at this time. I had already changed my pin and deleted my auto payment info. She stated that anyone that called in for a loan would need all the other verifying information to be approved. I explained that on the app it takes approximately three buttons to pull a loan, none of that extra information was needed at that time. And I had probably just given them access to my app.
I kept asking to speak to a supervisor as she clearly stated she did not know how to freeze the account and would have to do research. This was a time sensitive issue. I didn’t have time for her to do research. I needed to speak to someone right now to secure my account. I was placed on hold for five minutes. I hung up and called back.
Second representative. FORCES me to explain everything all over again even though I gave her a general overview of the urgency of the matter. And at this time add the fact that I am currently buying a home and cannot have my credit disrupted in any way as that will jeopardize the timeliness of me closing on my home. Puts me on hold to speak to a supervisor for a freeze. Another five minutes or more. I hang up and call back.
Third representative. Finally understands the urgency of the matter but states affirm doesn’t not have a freeze option to protect the account. He states because I have open loans he cannot close the account (makes sense) and he says there are other levels of service that can assist. He states he will transfer me to a supervisor. Mind you he is aware of my previous two calls and be being put on long holds for a supervisor. I also informed this individual regarding the home loan in progress and urgency of this matter. He puts me on hold. Another five minutes go by and I’m writing this review.
Affirm doesn’t not have a sense of urgency when it comes to protecting your credit.
Affirm customer service representatives are not even remotely trained on hacking/fraud and also do not have an answer for a customer on how affirm can protect their credit in the event of a breech.
Affirm supervisors have zero sense of urgency when answering a call that is time sensitive due to fraud.
Overall while I have easily spent a few thousand dollars with Affirm, never missed a payment and found their services to be beneficial in my life the possible negative outcomes of dealing with a company tied to my credit that does not have any protective measures against fraud is the sole reason I will be paying off my loans and closing my account for good. That is not a risk worth taking. So buyer beware. How important is your credit to you?

I LITERALLY have no clue why these people are st talking Affirm. I have USED Affirm for over $3,500 in product over the past 18 months.... and still have another $2,700 in other purchases. Close to $6,500 total. ZERO issues. One MALOR purchase ($1,400) became unavailable AFTER the Affirm "loan agreement"... the Co. I purchased from contacted Affirm immediately and within 2 business days it was all cleared up. Payments via my debit card are INSTANT and trouble free.

BEWARE, whatever the down payment is, they will HOLD IT to process the APPLICATION (it does NOT TELL YOU this when purchasing) and in order to complete the purchase, you STILL have to make that SAME PAYMENT AMOUNT. The "HOLD" amount won't be released for another 7-10 business days. So you're basically making the down payment TWICE (at least for 7 days) Representative said it's a "glitch" in their system...TUH! I experienced this attempting to make a purchase through the GOAT website. Won't do that again...smh. Might as well just purchase the shoes outright....but if you jave the time, money and patience...I guess its worth it.

This company sus. I cant believe the airlines would even use them as a payment option. I borrowed 600 for a plane ticket. The airline screwed up my flight. I was only refunded half the price of the trip which did me no good. So I pay the balance to Affirm. They also loaned me money to buy a couch and the couch was defective and that loan was refunded and I had made a couple payments on that loan. So I go to buy another ticket and they wont fund that ticket. They said I dont score high enough. After I paid and was approved for to previous loans. Pathetic

Horrible unprofessional company, loan shark not to be trusted. Beware.

There is a reason this business is not *** accredited. It is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. No surprise it's another failure of a company from CA with the most horrendous customer service i've ever experienced. First off, something as important as a loan should NOT be linked to a person's freaking phone number. That has to be their worst practice. It was nearly impossible for me to change my phone number and last name when I got a new phone and legally changed my last name due to marriage. I paid off the remaining balance I had and CLOSED the account. Which of course the representative could not have cared less about. She just said "well you can't access your previous loan info after your account is closed and you can never reopen an account with affirm." BIG DEAL. I think that's stupid considering even banks you can reopen accounts with but hey that's what crappy companies are for you. I'll never need another loan from them because they're horrible. Do yourselves a favor and stay FARRRR away from this thing (they want to call a company).
