I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. At this point, unfortunately, the business has yet to successfully remove the hard credit inquiry from my credit report. I am unaware of how long it should take them, but the necessary paperwork to have the inquiry removed was submitted at least a week and a half ago. So I am still waiting on the business to do their part, but when the inquiry is removed I will be fully satisfied.It should be known that I will not trust the business from here on out, and they have lost a potential customer forever.

I am rejecting this response because:As I stated previously, my mother is over 80 years old and is on a fixed income. She informed me that she was told by the company representative that they were merging with her previous service provider and her payments would ultimately be going to them. Shortly thereafter my mother learned that her previous service provider was not joining with them as she was erroneously told. Additionally, she found that she, several other elderly, and low income Black families were told the same information. This behavior is surely a scam perpetrated against a certain segment of a given community to lock them into a five year contract and make money. It is my understanding that her previous provider only required 12 - 24 months, it was their option. Although we were not familiar with this company in our area, we were able to conduct research through the internet, media sources, members of the law enforcement community, and Department of Defense legal offices to determine if this company has a pattern of behavior. it was evident, through even basic media that my mother is not the first elderly person to succumb to this activity. In addition, shortly after completing the paperwork with this company, whether it was someone within the company or persons unknown usurped her identity and began using it for illegal purposes. At 87 (I mistakenly stated 85 in the previous message), she is a member of the elderly community and in her particular area of Cleveland, it is well known that companies and individuals have targeted the elderly and low income personnel for illegal gain. We humbly request that this company cancel her service, withdraw any past due fees, collection actions, and remove her name from within the companies record systems. Therefore, since numerous persons have been part of this action, we also (if not mentioned before) plan to file a claim with the U.S. Bureau of Consumer Protection and the Ohio Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Section.
