My entire contacts list has been spammed by Alignable. If you get an invitation, don't even open it!!!

Alignable has put up a contact form that says Contact "My Company Name" this contact form doesn't email our company but our customers think it does and have been thinking they are sending contact requests to us and then getting angry that no one responds. This company is incredibly inappropriate in their use of data.

DON'T ACCEPT THE ORIGINAL 'INVITATION'!!

Apparently, by simply clicking on the "Accept Invitation" link in the introductory email, this gives this unethical program access to personal email records, and it sends out invitations to a subset of past contacts. The program is virus/trojan- like in character and propagates itself. Instructions for deactivating my "account" are needlessly complicated, and in fact, as far as I can tell, impossible to actually execute, at least without giving further explicit permissions first (I did not allow that).

Thus the best I can do with this is relegate communications to spam, and hope that it does not access any further personal records.

Highly aggressive and unethical practices, although it is so slick, I would imagine that somehow it is technically legal.

Received an email request, purportedly from a colleague, requesting that I sign up with their company to generate nationwide business through a network of like businesses.

Hi ***, My name is *** and I am part of the Member Success team here at Alignable. Thanks for reaching out and for giving us a chance to help. I took a look at your account and did find that you were, in fact, invited to join our network of small businesses by *** from ***.We allow our members to invite businesses they know to join the network because those are the people who are the most likely to refer them to others. Ultimately helping our members expedite referrals is the goal. Now, per your request I have gone ahead and deactivated your account successfully and you should not receive any further emails from Alignable. If there is anything else we can do to help, please let me know. Best, ***.

I received an email for Alignable from a realtor that helped close my Father's estate. I clicked through the Alignable email and was believed I indicated that I did NOT to allow my Contacts to be accessed. I then tried to "get out" of the service -- apparently not. That Contacts database has 20 years of contacts that I developed as a small business owner. I feel that Alignable "harvested" my professional contacts.

I went to their website but am not able to file a complaint or request for change. What I want, if they see this is a two fold request. I want to be deactivated, but I also request a list of all contacts that have been solicited so that I can send a proactive letter to my clients explaining the situation, or at a minimum I'm not blind sided and distracted from my primary business by replying to questions from my customers and friends. I have been receiving messages from angry customers about me sending deceiving emails and trying to get them involved with this company.

Several of my work colleagues received an invitation from Alignable in my name with my workplace listed. I never signed up with Alignable, and I consider this flagrant misrepresentation and a scam. This is an unacceptable business practice and a violation of my right to privacy to use my name and information without my permission.

Hi ***,My name is *** and I am the Head of the Member Success Team here at Alignable. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us and for giving us the opportunity to provide some clarity.First, this is not indicative of the service we strive to provide our members. Our No.1 priority is member satisfaction through transparency and honesty. I looked into our system and did find that an account was created using the email *** to represent the entity of the ***. The account was created on June 11th and the initial invitation to join Alignable came from *** (***).After you signed up, while not required to use Alignable, because we know that the people who are most likely to recommend and refer your business are already in your network, we give members the opportunity to connect their email address book to import their email connections at their discretion. In order for the person who invited you to Alignable to send that invitation they would have had to go through a 5-step opt in process, which includes a confirmation that you want us to send invitations to your contacts. During this process, we offer the ability to send invitations to a select few, or all of your contacts. No contacts are imported or invited to join Alignable without our members' permission. Ultimately, expediting referrals for you and our members is the goal.In your case, it does look like you an email address book and later selected the option to send invitations to all of the members in that address book. The good news is that because you deactivated your account, no further invitations or follow-ups will be sent to those contacts as your address book has been deactivated with your account. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact our support team here: ***All the best, ***.

I appreciate the clarity here, and the way you followed up on this. Part of the challenge, I now see, was a miscommunication within our organization. The email you reference is not my own, but our office administrator's. She must have signed up with your service and used my name as the contact without informing me. Because I never signed up with you service, I was disturbed to see invitations being sent in my name and that is why I contacted you. The lack of knowledge about how my name got associated with the website was our organization's fault, and I apologize for that. In talking to our office administrator, however, it is clear that she never intended to share access to her address book or have invitations sent. I would recommend that you make that function much clearer than its current form. Thank you for deactivating the account. I appreciate your help in resolving this issue. In thanks, ***[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

Hi ***, My name is *** from Alignable's Member Success Team - thanks for reaching out and giving us a chance to help and clarify any questions you may have. When you first join Alignable, we'll notify the community you are joining that you have recently joined which drives people to look at your profile. Two out of three of our paid membership options come with the benefit of being able to see who is viewing your profile which is why we sent you that email in case you wanted to upgrade to see who those people were. The plan you upgraded, which is out Verified | Local membership does not come with the ability to see who is viewing your profile. It does, however, allow you to connect with more people in more places. If you want to learn more about the plans we offer and what benefits come with each plan, you can do so here: ***Further, I took a look into our system and found that you actually have duplicate accounts under different emails. One paid account, and one free account. I have gone ahead and canceled and deactivated the account that had a Verified | Local subscription, guaranteeing that you will not be charged going forward. I have also deactivated the duplicate free account. If there is anything else that we can do to help, you can always contact our support team via our help center here: ***All the best, ***. I coworker asked why they recieved a junk email from Alignable. It is super embarassing and now I have to reach out to everyone to apologize. They hacked my email and contacted the email recipients from the last email I sent (hopefully not my whole contact database) without without my knowledge - seems really scammy and should be illegal. I have never signed up for this service and just started recieveing their emails a week or so ago. This company is a joke and a scam - they should be shut down.

Alignable over the last several years has grown increasingly tenacious. Thus, I want to get off their site. They are using my business to troll other owner like myself. I know few of the these people Having been in business for 42 years, it is not my desire to answer to a non profit that signs on and wants to know how my business is going? I'm in business, not a chat room sorority.
My friend of many years whom I was in business with, ***, author etc is also having tremendous problems removing herself from this site. None of the links or bots are live and they churn thus you can not get to the deactivation site. They are asking you to jump through a gazillion steps even if I could get there. I am giving them no authority moving forward to use my name or company name to solicit others for their membership. In addition, without their premium service you couldn't follow a lead it your life depended on it. I think it is wrong and I want off the site.

Hi ***, My name is *** and I am the Head of Member Success here at Alignable. Thanks so much for reaching out and for giving us a chance to resolve the issues you are facing. First, the goal of our site is to help small businesses like yours to find networking and referral opportunities for your business to grow. To help our members accomplish this, we might suggest your business to other businesses who we believe may be a match. This means that likely there is some similarities in the ideal customers each businesses listed on their profile. The more similarities between businesses ideal customers, more opportunities for referrals will be available. Now, if you are not seeing value in the connections and conversations you are making on the site, you can always adjust your listed ideal customer on your profile so that we can make better suggestions for your business to connect with. You can also use our Search tool which allows you to search for businesses by specific category and location, allowing you to find those businesses that you believe are ideal referral or co promotional partners. Nonetheless, while I'd be happy to deactivate your account for you, unfortunately, I was unable to find an account in our system under your name or the business names you provided. If you are looking to deactivate your account, you can find how to do so here: ***.If you need assistance from our support team, you can find our available support options in our help center here, including contacting us via email: ***. If you provide us with the email that you used to create your account you we'd be happy to help you in this process. All the best, ***. Alignable Member Success

My apologies......It has been a very busy week. I received a reply from the Alignable people vis a vis Revdex.com. Basically, the gentleman stated that there was no deluge, that they were doing me a favor, but more importantly HE COULD NOT FIND MY ACCOUNT! The uploads show that Alignable sends me a deluge of info daily (these are only examples of their daily posts) and they certainly KNOW who I am.I was unable to remove my company from this site.I was unable to do the 8 steps necessary to remove myself which he referred me to again.I want them to unsubscribe me and take me out of their system. This should be easy to do. Trust me. It is not! I cannot find the post as sent. Regards

Hi ***, Thanks for replying and for providing the screenshots relating to your account and the emails you were receiving. This allowed us to track down the account that we were sending these emails to. The reason we didn't find the account is because it was under a different email than the one you provided Revdex.com. It was under ***, not under ***. Now that we found the account, it has been successfully deactivated and you should no longer receive further emails. If there is anything else we can do to help, please let us know. Best, ***.

This company doesn't stop spamming and I am under the impression that they use illegal methods to harvest email addresses.

I'm receiving invites from people I don't know to email addresses I never used besides to send newsletters. I use a different email for nearly every site I sign up with. Most of them get spammed by this spam bot organization. I neither consented to receiving information from the people I have never heard of nor this spam organization.

You destroy the reputation of people who are not even aware that you abuse their data to spam in their names.

Hi ***, My name is *** and I am the Head of the Member Success team here at Alignable. Thank you for reaching out and for giving us the opportunity to provide some clarity. Alignable’s No. 1 priority is member satisfaction - a big portion of that satisfaction comes from our dedication to transparency and honesty. Now, there are two possible reasons why you would be receiving emails from Alignable. The first is if you were invited to join Alignable by someone who is an existing member. We give our members the option to connect their email address books in order for them to find who they know who is on Alignable. We encourage people to go through this process as our goal is to help small business owners generate referrals for their business, and the best people to help them do that, are the people who they already know and trust, as those are the people who are the most willing to refer them to others. If the person in your address book is not on Alignable, we give you the option to invite them to join the network. This is completely optional and is only possible if the member gives Alignable permission via their email provider to access their address book. The second possibility as to how you may be receiving emails is that you created an account on Alignable. This seems to be the case as it looks like you created an account for your business *** in ***, *** using an email address attached to the domain ***. When you create an account, you are opted into receiving emails from Alignable about your account and you can always manage the number of emails you receive by changing your email preferences at ***.Because you have already deactivated your account, this means that you will no longer receive emails from Alignable regarding this account. I have also gone ahead and completely unsubscribed the email under your account, and the email under this Revdex.com complaint to ensure that you also don’t continue to receive invitations to join Alignable. If you would like to unsubscribe any other emails, you can do so here: ***And if you have any further questions, feel free to consult our help center at: ***Best, ***.

Alignable keeps sending emails to contacts on my email list. I didn't ask it to do this. One email was received by a client and he is now FURIOUS with me and threatening to call the FBI. He's also a lawyer. I deactivated my account and unsubscribed from future emails, but I am afraid now that Alignable has his email contact, they will continue to harass him. I have heard this happens, that even if you unsubscribe, emails continue to be sent to your contacts on your contact list. This CAN NOT happen and needs to be resolved ASAP.

HI ***, My name is *** and I am part of the Member Success team here at Alignable. Thanks for reaching out and I'd be happy to help with this. I took a look at your account and it looks like you sent invitations to an address book you’d previously imported. After being shown a number of businesses to invite, you clicked the option to "Add All", which sent an email to your imported address book.I completely understand that this may be a nuisance. The good news is that by deactivating your account, which you already have, your address book has been deactivated, and thus no more invitations or follow up invitations will be sent out. We also filter out contacts that may not be associated with businesses so your entire address book would have not been invited. If you have any further questions, feel free to refer to our help center. All the best,***.
