Received an email from a legitimate customer of ours but it was actually created by Alignable and scams you into signing up with them. Then it is near impossible to remove yourself from their list. This company must be based out of India along with the *** support, the *** and the expired auto warranty people.

Alignable imported my contacts without my authorization and then spammed my contacts without my prior consent. At no time was I given a choice whether or not to import client emails. Alignable has hurt my credibility with my clients and I have no recourse to stop them from sending emails to the contacts they imported without my authorization.

Hi, My name is *** and I am part of the Member Success team here at Alignable. Thanks for letting us know about the situation and for giving us the chance to provide some clarity. First, this is not indicative of the service we strive to provide our members. Our No.1 priority is member satisfaction through transparency and honesty. While not required to use Alignable, because we know that the people who are most likely to recommend and refer your business are already in your network, we give members the opportunity to connect their email address book to import their email connections at your discretion. In order to send invitations to your imported address book, we ask you to confirm 5 times, which includes a confirmation that you want us to send invitations to your contacts. No contacts are imported or invited to join Alignable without our members' permission. Ultimately, expediting referrals for you is the goal. For members that upload their address book, they are free to message their community manager or our support team and ask that their address books be deactivated. To contact us, follow the instructions in this article here: *** I took a look at your business account, and it looks like it has already been deactivated. When your business is deactivated, so is your address book attached to the account. Doing so prevents any further emails to be sent out to those contacts that were invited. If there is anything else we can do for you, feel free to contact us at *** and one of our team members would be more than happy to help. All the best, *** Member Success Team at Alignable

I manage the group email for a local professional association. I received an email invitation that stated it was "from" one of our members, asking us to use her referral service. Since we sometimes advertise workshops for this person, I clicked on the button to check it out. It was a link to "Alignable." I have since spoken to the person whose name was on the invitation. She stated that she did not knowingly send it to us.

Alignable asked for some general information about our association and wanted my name and full address. I did not provide my full address. Then Alignable asked for permission to use our association's contact list. This was not acceptable to me. Alignable offered two options at this point, "accept' or "cancel." I clicked on "cancel." When the screen refreshed, it congratulated me for becoming a new member. Since when does "cancel" = "join" ?

Having done a little research on Alignable, I see that there are supposedly ways you can get out of Alignable's system but they require accepting that you joined in the first place, agreeing to activate an account, not inadvertently agreeing to something else in the process, and having lots of patience to wait for them to deactivate everything. Based on my hitting the "cancel" button, I do not believe that Alignable was acting in good faith by automatically congratulating me on my new "membership." And, I should not have to activate an account I don't want, with an organization I don't trust, in order to have the account deactivated completely.

Alignable is already bombarding our group email with unsolicited messages. Some of these messages are urging me to complete the set-up so I can enjoy Alignable's full services. Hopefully that means that Alignable is honoring my "cancel" as far as accessing our contact list. I am concerned, though, that Alignable is using my name and my association's name to send phishing messages to others in our area whose contact information Alignable already possesses.

Supposedly I could "unsubscribe", but that would only block incoming emails and I am concerned from my research about this group that any further interaction from my part would be construed as permission for something else.

Alignable knows exactly what they are doing. They are taking advantage of the fact that users do not always carefully read the fine print. They do inform you that they are about to spam all of your email contacts, but shockingly, most people miss that detail, leading to them spreading this virus-like service.

Every single time I've received an invite, I have contacted the business that sent it and found that they did not know Alignable was emailing on their behalf. At that point, there is nothing that can be done. They've already spammed their whole client base, making them look bad, and sending the 'virus' on to even more people.

Hi ***,
My name is Nick and I am part of the Member Success team here at Alignable. Thanks for letting us know about the situation and for giving us the chance to provide some clarity.
First, this is not indicative of the service we strive to provide our members.? Our No.1 priority is member satisfaction through transparency and honesty.
Because we know that the people who are most likely to recommend and refer your business are already in your network, we give you the opportunity to connect your email address book to import your email connections at your discretion. During the process, we also allow members to pick and choose which contacts they would like to connect with that have accounts on Alignable, and which contacts they would like to invite to join their Alignable network. If a member sends an invitation to another business by accident, he or she can contact a community manager to deactivate an address book to prevent any further communications. I have not had any complaints at all.
I use it like it's suppose to be used. No one bombards me with anything.
I've gotten great referrals on it and it shows up in a *** search with those reviews/referrals.
It's a business site. A site for connecting.
If you don't want your name out there for your business, then don't join. Or remove it.
It's been great for me - both my non-profit and now my for profit.
