This company automatically contacted us (via ***) due to a referral from one of its members. Since we were not interested, we ignored the request to join the network and received numerous obnoxious emails reminding us to join their network. I wrote a reply email, pointing out that in Canada it is against the law to add people to an automatic mailing list and that I would like to be removed from theirs. I got a reply from a different individual (*** Flynn) stating that they could not prevent users from referring emails. I pointed out that I was not objecting to the referral, but rather the obnoxious automatic mailers being sent out. I am still receiving automated messages from Alignable nearly every day.

Hi ***!

Thank you so much for reaching out, I am so incredibly sorry for any inconvenience this experience may have caused. On 1/30/2018, one of your connections invited you to join Alignable where you accepted and entered in your email address agreeing to our Terms of Service. On 2/6/2018 you contacted Alignable support, requesting removal to which a support agent responded asking for confirmation and unfortunately we never received a reply. We have since unsubscribed and deactivated your account and would like to sincerely apologize again for any inconvenience. If you have any additional questions please reach out to ***.

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***.

I never accepted any request and declined right from the beginning, never having agreed to any terms of service. Additionally, I replied multiple times to their messages and have continued to receive emails from Alignable!

Hi ***!

Thank you so much for your response. I am very sorry if you attempted to contact support and didn't receive a response, our records show we had only received the three emails. This is atypical of the support we offer and the service we want to provide. That being said, On 2/22/18 we deactivated the account and put a blacklist on your email to prevent any additional invitations from being sent your way.

If you have any additional questions please reach out to *** so we can help you further.

Best,

Alignable Support

[Since I can only attach 4 files here, I have provided one for each of the 4 different sources of spam from your company. The fact that you "only received three messages" from me can only be attributed to the fact that only three of them were directed to "***". I did not initially save messages from (or to) your company, but based on what I do have, there were at least 6 from me and 16 from you (from 4 different sources). The very first of my replies (screenshot 1) made it clear that I did not want to be added to a mailing list that spams me to join a network I have already refused. Your immediate response was to hand the matter to someone else, so I know that you did, in fact, receive all 6 messages. I did not ask to be blacklisted, I just asked not to be spammed. Perhaps your network would perform better if it could take a lesson from others - such as ***, which sends invites when they are sent and just that. That being said, I am happy to be blacklisted and will be sure to alert others of your poor practices!]

I am an Event Coordinator at a restaurant and I received an invite from my General Manager to join this group. I accepted the invite and "signed" up for the group. I went through the steps, skipping each step to invite others to join as I wanted to check it out before sending invitations and actively participating. I then received an email that said "Hi *** Great news, we can add 1653 referral opportunities to your network!". I made the mistake by clicking on the link that said "show me" and then backed out of the link. After this, I started getting notifications that my emails were being opened by my clients and I can see the sent email. There are a few different issues here. One, I used my main email address to "sign up" and Alignable somehow used was using an email that is generated through an event planning program that we use. The program provides notifications (depending on your setting) that advises you when a sent email is opened. I did not use this email or program to set this account up, however it used this address/program and sent an invitation to 1653 contacts. One can imagine how horrified and embarrassed I am to see that my contact list has been compromised. I reached out immediately and was told that I had to have clicked on "invite all" however I absolutely did not. I now see there are others who have experienced the same thing and I highly recommend avoiding this program. I can also see how a second email (within hours of the original invite) has been sent to a client. The Alignable contact told me that yes, a second email is sent as a reminder sometime later to these contacts. Again, this is within a few hours of the original invite. I asked him to rescind the second email, and he has claimed to since remove my email address so the second email will not be sent. I am skeptical as I have since received emails from Alignable and also can see that the invites are continued to be opened. I have also asked how they are using my event planning program's address and he doesn't know. I am now waiting on a response requesting that all of the contact's email address are removed as well.

Alignable has been nothing but bothersome, a nuisance, illogical, and untrustworthy. I received an invitation to join from someone who had a name, but my reply with some questions was answered with some guff about how interactions were between companies who joined, not with the management. Since then I've received notices that people wanted to contact me locally. I'm in Michigan. The people were anywhere in the US. I was also told to get testimonials because then other businesses would be more likely to refer people to me. Baloney! We have no business relationship with any local businesses as we exist only on-line. We offer support for people dealing with death and bereavement. How could any business outside of this field refer people to us?
Alignable seems to exist to gather information but does not offer anything useful to any other businesses. There is no way to network with businesses by location, by services, or to create smaller groups within this company. This company seems fraudulent in intention, they hide their staff, their contacts, their intentions. It is best handled by having no contact with them, whatever. If one has already been lured in, it may be safest to ignore them totally.

Do not join the Alignable network. I joined a few months ago. Yesterday, I received email notification that one of my clients had accepted my invitation to join my network. The problem was that I never invited any of my clients to join my network. I had planned to use my membership to reach out to only local businesses and network with members of my geographical community. Then, also yesterday, three friends notified me that they had received invitations "from me" via Alignable to join my network. One invitation came to a friend's Kindle email address which, obviously, notified him that an unauthorized person was trying to send him an email. The second invitation came to an address that is private; only a small circle of friends (including me) have it, and her intention had been to keep it that way. The third invitation was sent to a long-time friend and client who was savvy enough to ignore it. So the first problem I have is that Alignable used private email addresses without my authorization.
The second problem is that, when I tried to deactivate my account, it took way too much effort. Essentially, I couldn't do it. Alignable provides instructions for requesting that your account be deactivated. However, then you can't deactivate it yourself. You have to wait for an email from the company with a deactivation link. I requested that email, and waited about 4 hours, and the email never arrived. I then scouted around, in earnest, to find another way to contact the company. Finally, buried deep down, I found their email address: support@alignable. com. I emailed them saying I had never received their deactivation link and to please send it to an alternate account that I provided. I never did receive that email. Instead, a few hours later, I received a response to my email telling me that my account had been deactivated.
I am horrified that a social network stole, and used, email addresses to send out invitations that apparently (but didn't) come from me to join their network. And that the social network doesn't provide a way for a user to deactivate an account.
Fraudulent practices. Stay away from these people.

I have never joined this website and they have used my photo and information to invite my colleagues. They is embarrassing and annoying.

I had initially contacted the Help desk at Alignable.com to inform them that myself, and my Real Estate Agents were having an issue with their attempts to create an account with Alignable. When we were prompted to create an account, our accounts were automatically Auto-populated with a competitor's photo and information. Each of us had to go in to delete the photo and information upon signing up.
I informed Alignable that there must have been a fraudulent account created that was linking our business and agents to our competitors.
I was then able to screen shot the account that was fraudulent and show that the account was in existence.
I proceeded to contact our competitor about deleting this fraudulent account. He then contacted Alignable's Help desk, and they responded with the following emai:
Hi ***,

I've deleted the profiles that use *** as their profile picture. It looks like they linked their accounts to this *** page: ***/. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

***
Alignable Support

Of course our competitor then forwarded this to me, accusing us of creating a link to our competitor's *** page.
I have continually tried to contact Alignable, and to speak with *** who sent the above message, and have not received a response.
I need *** to retract his comments made regarding us linking to this fraudulent account, and clarify that this link was intentionally created and fraudulently identified this individual as being connected to our company.
