I write to acknowledge the receipt of this complaint in the Providence RI headquarters.We are in the process of researching this matter and will reach out to the complainant by the middle of next week.

I had the opportunity to review this matter with our employee who had spoken with the complainant.A full membership credit was applied for next years membership renewal, the complainant was asked if he still needed our assistance with service, he indicated that he was going to purchase a battery and install it himself.

 I didn't think that it was the battery as it was under 6 months old.  so when it wouldn't start I  was at work and there is a garage there, so they checked on it and replaced the battery.  I needed to have a car that starts.  The battery was replaced in March and I was told it was new, the warranty shouldn't be a question as it was less then 6 months old and again I was told it was brand new.  AAA did not put a brand new battery in my car in March.  I was given a battery that was defective and I shouldn;t have to fight like this to get reimbursed for it.  I advised them to come and get the old (supposedly new) battery.

I write to acknowledge the receipt of the complainants rebuttal. That is correct, it was an acknowledgement of the receipt of the initial complaint with the mention of contacting the complainant by the middle of this week.As a gesture of goodwill only, we will be sending the complainant a check in the amount of $143.72 to resolve the issue.

Our licensed appraiser inspected the vehicle in question. The damage that is being alleged is not possible and, there is no supporting evidence to substantiate this complaint. The rear air ride level sensor is cracked and, based on the photographs that were taken by our appraiser, the crack appears...

to be old. Both sensors are in poor condition and appear to be in need of replacement due to normal wear and tear. Therefore, we were unable to mediate the allegation of damage on the member's behalf. We offered to arrange an inspection and reenactment with the member present, this was declined. We were advised that the vehicle may already have been repaired. Furthermore, we were advised by the member that he had filed a Revdex.com complaint and, would prefer that we communicate with him through the Revdex.com. We also asked if he wanted to contact the dealer and let us know if the repairs had been completed, he declined that option as well. We explained the reasoning as to why we were unable to mediate his claim and, the member said he wants all further communication through the Revdex.com.

This will obviously be an open issue until compensation is reached and repairs completed.  My point of asking you who is paying to have the car torn apart for pictures to be taken is now justified because you obviously weren't planning on doing so...  I can easily take the tire off to get clear pictures of the wheel rotor hub and remove the brake rotor to show how the long wheel hub bolt destroyed the emergency brake package.  I wish this was accomplished the first time when I asked if the wheel needed to be taken off.  The hub can not be replaced with out the rear axle bearing coming off.  This is why is such a costly repair for a simple lug bolt...  I will await correspondence from [redacted] to set up a time and date he can come to my house so I can have the car prepared.  There is a police report on file with the Mass State police during the time off the incident.  I will consider this closed and accepted by me once this matter is resolved, and again, it has been 1.5 months.

I write in reply to the rebuttal that was posted to my response.Although there was mention of not renewing the membership in the original complaint, I misinterpreted the request for half of the membership to be refunded, and instead offered a credit for twice that amount, for that I am sorry.As you wish to be refunded, we will instead cancel your membership and process a refund for the amount that you had requested.
