Review: Overcharged for shipping (Product $29 - Shipping was $23!). I called customer service and asked to cancel the order but they claimed it was shipped. However when I go to [redacted] (per instructions on their website) the message clearly states that my order is not in their system and that it can take up to 24 to 48 hours to download into their database...so this means they could not have processed the order if it is not in their system- nor could they have shipped it yet...so they should be able to cancel the order.According to my bank, my account was not charged. Review: After seeing this ad on tv, I went to the website for the buy one get one free offer (only $19.99, who can resist). The site immediately prompted me for payment info as well as number of units to buy (I entered 2 per the offer). The next screen offered the deluxe version with adjustable speed settings for an additional $10, and I accepted. The next screen offered a cat scratcher, which I declined. Following that was an offer for a warranty, followed by an offer for a large-key keyboard. At this point, I closed the browser window, canceling the transaction.A week later (today) I received an email from them stating that they had shipped my order. The total was not provided directly, but through a link to www.customerstatus.com. I looked up my 'order', and they had charged me $91.98: $29.99 for each unit, and $31.80 for P&H. I did not get one free, I never completed the transaction, and they did not provide a summary of charges before charging me. According to their site, I can return the order minus the $31.80 P&H and as long as I pay for the shipping cost of sending it back. This is a complete scam, and I will be disputing the charges with the company and my bank first thing tomorrow. Review: I placed a order on the internet with Chop magic (order.buyitsecure.com) on January **, 2014, used my Visa Card for payment of $19.95 for product and $12.90 for shipping. I received a email on January **,2014 telling me my order was accepted and "Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery. This is now five (5) weeks and I have not received the items that I was charged $12.90 for shipping and told 2 - 3 weeks and the items would be received. It seems this "Chop Magic" does not live up to what they tell you. If they charge you and then put it in writting that you will receive you items in 2 -3 weeks you should get the items as promised or given a refund of the complete shipping charge. If companies were required to honor what they say or reimburse the customer maybe things would be better.Desired Settlement: I should receive a refund of the shipping cost of $12.90 and the items should be mailed to me again since I have not received the items. Review: The product is advertised that you buy one at 29.99 you can buy an additional one at 8.99. This is not true you have to buy both.

I was careful to fill out the form. With most sites it gives you a break down of costs before it puts your order through but that is not the case for this site. As soon as you hit the order button it puts the order through right away. Instead of giving me the package with the two balls it gave me three packs that hit my credit card for 118.57 I called to try and cancel the order but the order doesn't show in their computer until it is being processed and thus is being shipped. I was told today that it has been shipped and I have top refuse the parcel and have it sent back and that I don't get my money back until after they have received it back and processed it. It is going to my husbands office where the receptionist is going to receive it so I'm not sure that it will get refused. The fact that there is no double check on your order before you order it is totally wrong and bad business.Desired Settlement: I want them to refund my money right away.

Review: I could have checked about 4 of the boxes above. False advertising, customer service issues, billing issues, delivery issues all apply. I ordered 8 Ruggies for $10 and they charged me $29.95 on my order along with the tax. The firm asks for your credit card info and then processes the order without you ever being allowed to see the final total so you can't change your mind. There was no phone number or email address to contact about the order. I looked at Rip-off.com on the internet and there are numerous complaints about this company that are the same or similar to mine. They are indeed a rip off and use false advertising to get you to their internet site. They ask for credit card information up front and then process your order without your approval, i.e., you don't have the ability to not order after they triple the price.Desired Settlement: I would prefer that this company be fined a significant amount of money for ripping off the public. I called my credit card company to dispute the charge and they were able to contact the company and transfer me to a representative. They told me to refuse delivery by USPS. They gave me a tracking number for the shipment I didn't order. I tried the tracking number and it didn't work. Something needs to be done about this scam operation.

I did receive a credit from the business, however, that in and of itself is not acceptable. Ruggies description of my order was not accurate. I did not order additional Ruggies and my credit card was charged before I submitted my order. As mentioned previously many other customers experienced this problem based on complaints I viewed on the internet. I did want to try the product and purchased 10 Ruggies from Walmart. In addition to deceptive advertising and charging your credit card without manually submitting an order (which I would assume is illegal) the product does not work!!! The customer service number on the website is inoperable. You get a automated voice and they try to sell you a Bahamas vacation. This company is a scam operation and tries to rip people off.

Review: The TV ads as well as the Web site state the basic product as follows:Offer Details: Cat's MeowTM is the cat toy your cat can't resist! Just pay an additional $7.99 P&H.The checkout process is confusing or misleading... I was shown a page that I thought was to confirm if I wanted the 'free' second item for just S&H. I found out that each page is a 'checkout page, and that there was not way to see what I was ordering and to confirm prior to charging my credit card. I did click that I wanted the free second item.After accepting one additional upgrade which was listed as an additional $5.00 per unit I was charged $29.99 per unit and shipping of $15.90 per unit for a total of $91.78. According to my calculations I should have been charged $24.99 per unit and $7.99 shipping per unit for a total of $45.96. You do not get a chance to see the total charges until the order has been processed. As stated above, there isnt a 'checkout' screen.. When he got his credit card statement, he saw he was charged $48.80. He called the customer service line and they told him the cost was to ship the 2nd pair. He never asked for a 2nd pair. Review: Per the television ad is shows that the Wobble Wag Giggle ball is made of a soft plastic and that my dog should be able to pick up this ball. Received the product today and the product is made of hard plastic and there is no way my dog would be able to pick up this ball. When I placed the order it was offered to have the product at additional cost of $5.00 for a more durable product. With as hard as this ball is, there is no need for a more durable plastic. Called in regards to the money back guarantee and was told I had to pay to ship the item back and would only receive the cost and tax of the item. Non of the shipping and handling and return shipping cost is refundable to me. I feel that the entire ad is false advertisement. I want my entire cost of the item and shipping and processing refunded. Review: I purchased a Cat’s Meow toy via TV.

Ordering was done via a computer generated ordering system.

I ordered one for $19.99 and at the end of the recording a second one was offered for $14.99. I opted for the second toy also. Which should have totalled $34.98 + S&H (7.95) I expected to pay no more $50.00+GST).

Upon receipt of the toy with the invoice – which you do not know the price when you order - totalled $102.55. This came in 3 boxes. I did not open as I knew this was wrong.

I called the company numerous times (a message came on and kept saying “all circuits are busy” and would hang up) but I did finally, after calling over and over for hours, get a live person who said I could return it. I did and received the total amount back but I had to pay shipping and handling again, myself, to return same. Basically, I got the purchase price back.

Upon speaking to the person at Merchandise Direct, I was informed that each box contains 2 toys so when I ordered 2, I got 4 and also an additional 2, which I did not even order but Merchandise Direct said I did – so I received 6 Cat Meow’s when I only wanted 2 with a total S&H of $47.50 which should have been no more than $16.00.

There is no way to confirm the order when you are placing it and you do not know how much they intend to charge your credit card for and at that point your credit card has already been given.

I debated about ordering over the TV and will not order anything dealing with Merchandise Direct again.

I suspect there is nothing further to be done at this point expect call it a bad learning experience but perhaps a warning about this company will save others from this issue.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the Shipping and Handling of $34.58 I had to pay to have the merchandise shipped back.

I called their customer service and was told that the order was not showing up in their system and to wait a couple of days. They assured me no money would be taken out of my account before they shipped their product.Monday, June [redacted], I called back. We received 4 sets of 2 for a total of 8 back on 7/*/2013 and credit was issued for $37 the cost of the merchandise less the processing and handling.

Since quality customer service is very important to us I have issued credit for the processing and handling for $63.60, this credit will reflect on their next statement. We thank you for bringing this to our attention.
