This is the worst store everFirst off, this store bribes their customers with a free lamp if you will write them a good review on either google or Facebook, so take all good reviews with a big grain of saltWe just got a new house and decided to check out American Freight in Washington, IL after receiving one of their flyersWe ended up making a $purchase from this god-awful place and they rewarded us by treating us like dirtWe went in to American Freight and picked out furniture 3-weeks ahead of our move in dateWe then scheduled the delivery for the day of our move in and paid in fullThe store told us that they’d pull all of our items for us and store all of our pieces for free, until the delivery dayWe had no contact from this store after thenWe called the store on the delivery day and they fed us some lie about how some of our items were backordered! How in the world is this the case when they told us that they were storing it for us weeks ago? The lady “Nikki” also wanted to charge us an additional $delivery fee at a later date, when it finally came in… Total scam! When they told us that the driver was finally headed out with the items they did have in stock for us, they said his phone was not working so they couldn’t give us any further updatesWe heard nothing from the driver and we called the store just before closing, only to find out that he hadn’t even left yet! They told us that the couches we paid for were somehow damaged, which I believe was an excuse or why wouldn’t they have called us? The worker we spoke to “Nikki” was so very rude and unapologetic that it is amazing this place still does businessShe even hung up on us at one point because she said we were keeping her there too late! When the driver did finally come out with only about half our stuff, it contained a damaged set of box springs, which had to be sent backNeedless to say, I had to call the corporate office and get the regional manager involved in order to sort this all outA couple days later, they made another attempt and finally delivered our couches, only for them to be damaged anyway! And…there was still a piece of furniture missing after this delivery! I will say that the regional manager did finally get all of our items to us and gave us a partial refund for the damaged couches and the trouble, so there is a small silver lining to this storyHowever, it did take about phone calls to the store and the regional manager, two failed delivery attempts, and a trip to the store to physical pick up the final piece in order to get all of our itemsMy advice to you is that you shouldn’t be fooled by their flyers and advertisements with deals that sound too good to be true, because they won’t be available when you goInstead, I believe that they hope you make the same mistake as we did and end up settling for some furniture pieces that are priced good, but not greatThen, they will likely proceed to make you go through heck to get itThis store has a terrible problem with communication and lying to customersThere are even more examples I could give, but this review is long enough alreadyAccording to their delivery drivers, this store constantly has to have management from the corporate office at the Washington store, trying to clean up the Washington store’s messesDo yourself a favor and avoid the headache of dealing with this placeThis place is one big scam

I visited American Freight on 4/6/after working night shift at the hospital in search of new mattressI was helped by jeremy which was awesome I was in and out within an hour When the workers were loading my mattress onto my SUV which has crossbars the guys broke my sunroof wind protectorI contacted the manager I looked up the piece and it was about $The manager agreed to refund me the $I took my car to get fixed and the sunroof wind protector was not the only thing broken to the unnecessary force of the men loading my car and my bill came out to dollarsThe manager told me to contact corporate if the price was differentThis was not my fault so I am not going to pay for this out of my pocketI need the remainder $refunded to me or there will be legal action takenIf you have people loading cars they need to know what they are doing!

Worst customer service everI bought a mattress from American Freight on January 7, I was to have it delivered later that dayWhen the delivery drivers delivered the mattress it was the incorrect oneI called back into the store immediately only to be told the drivers must have grabbed the wrong mattress from the warehouse, and they would call me right back once they spoke with the driversI waited hours for a call back, and did not receive oneI had to call back as the store was closing soon, and I( had not received a callI called back and the gentleman seem annoyed I called back and told me I needed to be patientHe then proceeded to tell me that he in fact was wrong, and they didn't even have the mattress I purchased in store and would have to get one from a neighboring storeHe said it would be here in the next few days and they would call when it was being deliveredI wasn't happy at this point, but little did I know this was only the beginningI waited an entire week from the purchase date to call again to see what was going on with the mattress I still had not receivedI was told that they hadn't heard back from the neighboring store, and should hear back in a few daysAgain I wait a week, and get the same response of "Please be patient we are trying to figure something out." A month later I called in again, and finally she said they were getting the correct mattress in, and it would be delivered the following dayFast forward three days to today where I had to call in again because they still hadn't delivered my mattressFinally they said it was on the truck and was getting delivered todayThe movers got here took the old mattress out and delivered the "correct one"It was not the correct mattressOnce again they delivered the incorrect mattress! I could not believe it! I called in and had to read ever single tag on the mattress just to prove I got the incorrect mattress againI was then told to just send pictures of the tags to their email to prove it was the incorrect mattressI am so fed up with their customer service at this pointI have been paying for a mattress for a month now that I do not haveThey also never once reached out to meThe only contact that has been had was forced by myselfI will never purchase anything from this company again

this store is the worst furniture store I have ever been in the service is poor they took a payment from me which I was told it would secure my furniture once they had received it in there warehouse when I called to see if it had came in they told me it was sold and my refund will take 14-days for them to cut me a check when I paid with cash poor customer service beware this place is bad business

I was very excited to have finally made it to American Freight in South Windsor, CT and purchase my first sofa and love seat on my own that I absolutely loved when I seen itWhen I went into the store I purchased the living room set and a dining room setI was told that my living room set was not in stock, and that they would order it from another locationThe salesperson asked if I would like same delivery when the couch set comes in on Feb 24th to their locationI asked if this would be wise, and he answered that it wouldn't, so he suggested that he can have it delivered on the 25thI agreed and paid for my purchase and went homeWhen the 24th came, something told me to call to make sure that they received my living room setI was told that it was there and that they were ready to deliver on the 25th as we had agreedWell, when the 25th came I waited and waited and decided to find out how much longer it would be only to find out that my furniture wasn't coming at allI told the lady that I called to confirm the day before, and because of the confirmation I threw out my furniture that I had in my house previouslyShe stated that she would have it delivered on the 26thI stated that I had to work and would be leaving no later than 4:pm to head to work, and she stated that she would note to the driver that my delivery needs to be made by pmI agreed and come the next day they didn't call me until after 4:pm to tell me that they were just loading my stuff on the truck and that they would be there in a half hour, well my mom volunteered to wait for them at my house and I receive a call from them almost hours later that they were outsideMy apartment has a front and a back door and I was told the furniture was to big to fit through my back door without them trying to bring it through my front door which you can clearly see is bigger than my back doorThey received $for a delivery charge and I was told over the phone while I was working that it would be wise for me to send that set back and they would pick a set out for me and bring it in the morningI wasn't home so I had no other choice but to have them take it backNow I'm hearing that they want to charge me $more dollars to deliver me another set, after I sat here with no furniture for a whole day while waiting on them to bring my new setNot to mention I called on the 26th to confirm that the delivery would be made by 3pm and I was told that they would call the driver to let them knowI am ***ed that there was no attempt to bring the furniture through my bigger door and have left me with no choice but to go another night without any furnitureAlso the delivery was made after hours so I could not talk to someone in the store about a solutionI know the furniture would have made it through my door because my first living room set that I had when I first moved into this apartment made it in here with no problems, and it was the same size with just a different colorI feel aggravated about it all, and still have no furnitureThey also told me they would deliver it at am and I get home and looked up the hours only to find out that they don't open until pmI am not paying $more dollars out of my already struggling pockets for the delivery of anything and if I don't get someone trying to make an effort to bring my couch in the right way I will be bring this to eyewitness news investigationOh by the way my mom is still waiting for her bedroom set that they keep telling her will be ready week after weekI'm not shopping here anymore!!!!!!!!!

I purchased a bunk bed on the of MayWhen putting itogether there was a crack in the woodI called the store to try to get some assistance with replacing the piece that was damaged or exchanging the entire productI was told no they couldn't do either, even though it wasn't even a week since I purchased itI asked to speak with a managerI was placed on hold, no one ever came to the phoneI was hung up onI tried repeatedly calling back, but there was no answer

When I originally purchased my furniture I also purchased the warranty because I was told that if I get it I can replace my cushions and pillows at any time within a five year period that have been smashed or just worn down from everyday wear and tearI purchased the furniture and warranty on March October of I called to order some new cushions because I wanted to have them before the holidaysI spoke with a guy who said that he put the order in and the cushions and pillows should be in in six weeksSix weeks go by and no callI called them back after the six weeks to find out about my order and was told that the guy I spoke to never put the order in and that I had to do the process all over againThis happen two more timesI was told one of the times that it happened because they switched managers but that should not have affected and order in my opinionIt is now May 10, and I still haven't heard anything about my last order which was made two months ago in

I bought furniture on 2/26/ Once it was delivered and opened, I noticed a few small tears in it already, it is very cheaply made I looked on my paper work to see what the return policy is, and it says that a receipt is needed for a return and refund I called the store and they told me that all says are final and that my items can not be returned I explained that It doesn't say that on their website , nor on my paper work He told me that there is a sign behind the desk, which I did not see I haven't even had this furniture for hours, I have the full receipt and according to their website and my paper work, I should be able to return this and recieve a full refund

I purchased a twin size trundell bed with delivery set for June 2ndThe delivery ended up getting "over looked" and the salesman I had purchased from delivered it at 9pm that night; only then informing me that the extra delivery charge I paid did not include assembly

Went into the store at the end of February and paid in full for a living room power reclining setWas told the set would be delivered that next week, by March 4th, It is now May 31, and they still haven't come through on their partEvery time I call I get a different answer on what's going on with my orderI explained to them on several occasions that's I'm preparing to have major surgery and really need the power set, here I am weeks before my surgery and was told today that the furniture is out of stock and I can't get a refundThey have tried to bribe me to pick another selection and I went into the store to see if it was anything else that I would prefer, which it was not, and the manager figured out who I was, he refused to come assist me, acted as if I was invisible and I will never ever do business with them again, and I plan on letting any and everyone I know who is furniture shopping know about my experience
