DO NOT USE THIS COMPANYThey lie and just do not want to do the right thing I have been a loyal customer for approximately years and they failed to do the right thing when I needed service and cancelled my contract without my notice I asked for a copy of the recording from my conversation and they failed to provide itif they had nothing to hide, why not just share it! Thanks

American Home Shield does not honor it's contract and thier customer service is horrendousI had serval claims with themmonth after I filed a claim, my contractor still had not been by my house to address my issueThey refused to contact another contractorThey only use small, not necessarily local contractorsMy contractor left a live cut wire in my well (WATER sump) I called AHS to complain, because I know this is NOT up to codeThier respnse: they would send the same contractor out to screw a nut on the wire(WHICH DOES NOT MAKE IT WATERPROOF) Wasn't worth the fightI hired my own contractor AHS does not care if the work was performed well or even about following up on the jobVery disappointed & I can not understand why this company is rated so high

This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with regarding customer service and is a waste of money to say the leastI believe they have one person in purchasing since you are put on hold for hours or more which happened days in a row to my wifeYou are better off saving your money vsdealing with this company, unless you like being on the phone for extended hours of timeAlso, they will make up rules as to why they do not cover certain itemsWho ever is running this company needs to get clue on how customer service works or shut down the business

An AHS contractor repaired gas water heater on Monday; by Thursday, the gas company was at the house and placed a " hazardous condition" sign on the water heaterGas leak so severe that the gas technician said, "You could have died." AHS keeps stating someone will call and get us on the schedule and we've heard nothingJust signed up for this contract in NovNot impressedNot at all

Please readAmerican Home Shield provides terrible service overallI am not one to leave a review often at all, but felt I needed to leave this for someone wanting an honest opinionI am not hard to please and only ask for respect which is lacking at AHS I attempted to use the home warranty company for a plumbing issueMy pipe froze and busted causing a large amount of water to leak throughout the houseI contacted American Home Shield thinking they would cover the problem seeing as how "plumbing" is said to be covered with the warrantyAfter being placed on hold for an average 30-minutes and being cut off a couple times I was finally able to talk with a representative Once on the phone with a representative I explained the problem as a busted pipeAHS attempted to located a contracted company but somehow failed to find one out of the 11,they supposedly work withThe next day was Saturday causing the pricing for a plumber service to increase substantially due to it not being a business dayAHS advised us to go ahead and call a plumbing service to come out and have them call AHSOf course, after the conversation with the plumber AHS advised us they would not be covering the cost due to the damage not being "wear and tear." How they constitute one problem to the next not being wear and tear I am unsure, but the pipe probably froze and resulted in a busted pipeWell, AHS does not cover that in there "plumbing" section of the warrantyThe representative was also very rude and even laughed when I was expressing my frustrations after being without water for over hours and waiting on them to provide a service, which was never providedNothing was explained in detail either during the entire situation, just laughs and a lack of concern or care Overall, I have had a terrible experience with AHS and would not recommend this company to anyoneIt always seems as if they weasel their way out of fixing a problem for youI believe I have lost over $dollars for the year and did not benefit one time from using this warranty companyI will definitely not be renewing the yearly contract and if I could cancel now I would There is good reason behind the fact that 94% of the customer review ratings are negative on Revdex.comI only hope I can prevent even one person from using AHS in the futurePlace your money in another business that will treat its customers fairly and most importantly with respect

I am a cust of AHS Today, I noticed an outside emergency drain leaking water over a window I have - gallon water heaters on my 2nd floor over MY family room with one filling up the emergency drip pan to almost the top The emergency drain to outside was not able to take the overflow and filling up the pan so, not an easy thing to do, I drained it Got house water turned off and emailed AHSAfter hours on the phone & using AHS 'chat' & horrible customer service I found out AHS's local plumber would not come for FOUR days and then only to diagnose! Called AHS and waited minutes - "no", Shennile said, my problem was not considered an emergency to AHS and, since I emailed them on a Thursday, the only response I could get would be in days! OMG, gallons of water over my family room, tank dripping water and water off to house, they would come in days I'm years old FGS Maybe no problem to her but huge problem to me The exact reason I purchased a home warranty plan was to get help when I needed it When I saw the dripping, I called [redacted] plumbers (before I called AHS) and could have gotten plumbing companies anytime but AHS would not use any of them - only THEIR plumbing company I now have to pay a plumber to come out tomorrow to replace the year old water heater which AHS should be paying for!!!! Now I'm just mad and venting! Never buy an AHS Home Warranty policy as they won't send anyone out in an emergency!!!

I have had them for years and they have been nothing but problems! Always deny claim, send contractors that find all "extra" things to charge you! I would love to see this company investigated by someone

American Home Shield have yet to resolve my AC issues,I continue to receive horrible customer service with lack of experienceIt seems that the representatives are reading from a handbook that has been script for them Going on day with lack of service I was informed by the AHS representative that Supervisors are not available to come on the line to assist

I owned a home from to and had AHS for years Should have been 1! My recurring problem was the HVAC Always took an exceptional amount of time to get repairs done The contractor only travelled to my town on a certain day, so it could take weeks if a part has to be ordered Well now it is and my best friend bought a house and was required to get AHS I live with him, pay rent His AC went out May and today is June Problem fixed? NOPE! contractor only comes to our town on Mondays and the part may or not be in Is too bad because my friend is certified in HVAC and maintains units He can't do the work because of the warranty

This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt withThey send out unqualified contractorsThey have extremely long wait times when you call themThey take forever to order partsI cannot think of a worse companyThey owe me moneyInstead of sending it, they keep me on hold for an hour and then hang up

According to American Home Shield, a water heater going out isn't urgent because we should be able not to bathe, wash dishes or anything requiring warm water for hoursThe water heater went out on Friday and the first time the plumber (that they chose for us) was MondayWe waited patiently but then when we couldn't be there on Monday afternoon to greet them, they told us it would be two more days I called AHS and requested a different plumber be sent out soonerThey told me flatly that they would not transfer it to another plumberThat's the kind of customer service I can do withoutThey have my under contract for a few more months, so I guess they're calling the shots right nowBut they won't see my money again

I am thoroughly annoyed with AHS customer service; holding for minutes or more to speak with a rude customer service representative is acceptableI called three days in a row 6/20, 6/21, & 6/My wait time was more than minutes Secondly, I made a payment of $for services rendered by a AHS vendor on 6/and it was immediately taken out of my bank accountAs of today 6/AHS has failed to process the payment in their system As a result, I am unable to request service at any of my three properties I tried explaining to the customer service rep that my payment was processed and funds were deducted from my accountI also received an email from AHS stating the the payment had been processed and had a confirmation number The customer service rep hung up on me Today I have called AHS three times! The first time the customer service rep hung up on me The second time some one answered the line but would not speak So this is my third time calling and I have been on hold for minutes thus far Clearly AHS does not value my business! My cancellation

American home shield does not help you when you need them, I needed a repair to my kitchen faucet, the defective part was hard to obtain, I was told that the part will be available on 2-17-17, my problem started 12-15-2016, I have to live without a kitchen faucet for two and half months, when I suggested to their plumber that in this case I need a new faucet, but he told me it is against AHS policy, I had to cancel my membership and get my own plumber to change the faucetit was a miserable experience

This company is the absolute worseTheir customer service is terribleYou spend endless minutes on hold trying to talk to someoneAs of now I have had people come out to look at my cooktopIt is now almost months and it still isn't fixed! First company diagnosed the problemDid not here from them for weeksI called the company and they said they don't service my cooktop?!?! no notification from them or AHS explaining the situationAnother contractors sentSays we need partsWait + weeks for partsComes to fix and says nothing wrong with it and doesn't have right partsSays just use the cooktop without exhaust fan and it will be ok or open drawers under the cooktop and the ignitor won't click?!?! Really??? Not an option! Called AHS and waited minutes on hold to SPEAK TO SOMEONE, I was cut off in mid sentence and transferred into ANOTHER voice system where the wait time was another minutes! you have got to be kidding meThis is unacceptable! I have not been able to use my cooktop properly for close to months nowOn hold AGAIN to speak to someoneThis is unacceptable customer service

I had a contract with American Home Shield for yearIn that year I filed claims for my furnace and some outdoor electrical lights not workingIn sum, the furnace work required several calls and several dispatches over the year but the problem was never resolved over the course of my contractTheir business model is only to dispatch a new vendor to the workThey will not take any accountability for the vendors failing to follow up, call you back, or disappearRather, you will need to pay $every time they re-dispatch a new vendor (on top of the monthly fee being charged) for the same problem that remains unfixed for months and months The electricians sent for the outdoor lighting issue seemed completely incompetent and unprofessionalI had to make suggestions to them in how to figure out the problem, which is ridiculous All this and then AHS renewed my contract without contacting me or alerting meNo apologies on their part everWhen I caught it, they said they will cancel it and I will receive a confirmation in the mail in 10-daysThey were unwilling to send an email with the cancellation in writing Terrible company

I have a shower leakCalled several months ago and had a plumber come outThey told me to caulk, so I did$months or so later, still an issueCall again, have another plumber come outHe opens the ceiling and caulks the drain$I think it's fixedStart up showerStill leakingCall AHS once more for a recallPlumber get's scheduled but never showsTWICEFinally get a call (after calling AHS and scheduling plumber for a third time)He says he won't come back out because it's probably not the drain but the edgesSo basically they want another $to confirm that it wasn't his bad workmanshipI pay $a year for this service and they keep wanting more moneySo now I have a hole in my ceiling and a leak Also their website doesn't allow you to download your contract anymore Avoid this serviceI'm sure not all their plumbers and tradesmen are terrible but their associations say a lot about their business

At the time of writing this review I noticed another negative reviews and only positive ones! So, let mine count as the 120th NEGATIVE one! The entire year I paid AHS without any service requests then it changed when a main sewer-line stoppage occurredA few days later they sent a technician who works for R [redacted] plumbing in San Diego (one of the many incompetent plumbing compnaies in San Diego)The guy took a walk around the house and said he couldn't not find the clean-outI asked him if there are other waysHe said there are but he is not allowed to thatThen he suggested to put a new clean out accessI asked him how much it would cost and he said $I said that's too much and if they can give me a discountHe said he would check with his boss and get back to me within a day or twoHe never called while I had both my bathrooms backed up and we couldn't use the showersHe offered no help, no solutions, not even followed up as he said he wouldThen I started calling the plumbing office, R [redacted] You can call them a million times but they do not pick upLeft messages but no responseEventually, one day, kept calling and calling and calling close to pm and kept pressing different digits on the phone for different options and finally someone very agitated pick up the phone complaining why I call so many times and how on earth I managed to get ahold of his cellphone! It turned out he was the boss named LucasWhen I asked him about his plumber, Chris, who was supposed to call back and give me some sort of resolution but never did and if I can get ahold of him since we could not use the bathrooms for a few days by then, he said he would not give out his plumber's number and only would pass on the messageAgain, never heard from themBefore the plumber guy left my house he said he would put the request on hold till we figure out what to doA few days later I noticed the payment was posted as "late" on AHS' websiteIn my opinion, AHS is another incompetent home warranty and a barely hair away from really being considered a scamDO NOT USE them or any other home warranty period, unless you don't mid $300-$of your hard earned money flushed down the drain and dealing with all the frustrations when you do actually need themThey, just like other home warranty services, do not monitor their contractors and probably pick some of the most incompetent ones like R [redacted] plumbing

This Is My 5th review for this company todayI will continue to write reviews until someone calls me back that actually knows somethingAll day I have talked to people in front of computers that talk for themAt no point did anyone help except one gentleman that actually listened and said that he would have someone call meBefore him I was hung up on and jerked around pretty much all dayWould not recommend this company to warranty or fix anything

I have American Home Shield as my home warranty company and they are horrible The send out people to fix things that have twice broken more stuff than what was originally wrong with what I needed repaired

I was a AHS customer, but no longerWhen we bought this house we had AHS for warrantyWell, we had to fork out over $10,in repairs and fixes to get electric, ac, and plumbing issues fixedAHS never paid out a pennyAHS never made a deadlineHad to nag themSent incompetent people outWorst waste of money EVER
