I am out $650! I have been chasing these guys for 2 1/2 months trying to find out when the back ordered parts would be in and then when they did come in, I have had three appointments set up where the gas technician did not show up. First one, they had no idea why he didn't come, second was for "religious" reasons, and the third no show was because he "got pulled off the road". ***.

On December 22rd we contacted this company as our Refrigerator was not cooling. The Serviceman *** came and we paid$80.00 just for him walking into the home. He visually looked at the appliance and said that a Jazz board was required. he did not examine the appliance. The cost for the Jazz board was $460 and to install would be $344.00 however he mentioned that we can buy the Jazz board at a appliance store. We did that and he was contracted to return to install the board. We had to pay the company $344.00 before he would return. On returning to the home he realise that our refrigerator did not have a Jazz board so we had to return the board and luckily we receive the refund for the board. Then he said it was the defrost heater. We bought the heater and he came back to install on April 18th. On installing the Heater he was defrosing the ice build up on the evaporator using a dryer. Then he got tired and started chipping at the ice with a screwdriver. At this time I stopped him and told him he will damage the refrigerator and you do not use sharp objects in these appliances. The next morning my Freezer was totally defrosted and water was all over my kitchen floor and all my meats spoilted. I called the company stating it was an emergency and they sent out a senior technican *** who said that there was a hole in the evaporator and he confirmed that it had to have been done within the last 24 hours. Then the back and forth began with the company calling and they said it would cost us $791 to replace the evaporator which was damaged by *** their technician. We continue to write the company and they are taking no responsibility for the error of their technician and is only offering a refund of $150.00. As it is now we are still without the use of the refrigerator and the freezer which was working all along until *** punched a hole in the evaporator on April 18th 2019. We are getting no response from this *** company.

Desired Outcome

I would like the company to take responsibility for the damage their technician did by punching a hole in the evaporator for the freezer and replace it and also repair the original problem they were paid for the cooling of the refrigerator.

I called Appliance Repairman Repair Service to repair my refrigerator. that was leaking water on the floor. A technician was sent our on May 6. The technician told me upfront that the part was the main board and initially said it would be around $250. He later quoted the cost at $689 plus labour. He said he would order the part and install it in a few days. I asked to have the factory warrant the part he was going to replace, but the tech. told me they could not give a factory warrant - only their 30 day warranty. The technician told me I must pay 65% up front in cash or by debit.
Two weeks later the tech came to ostensibly install the new part. He asked if the refrigerator was still leaking and we told him yes. He was at the house for 5 minutes and said he installed the part but we did not see him do it. After paying for the complete repair, the refrigerator is still leaking and nothing has changed from the time we initially called the company. The refrigerator still has a leak and we have paid $1059.70. Nothing has been fixed and we have been ***.

Desired Outcome

I am asking the company, Appliance Repairman, to either complete the repair to my satisfaction and supply me with a factory warranty for the part they supposedly have installed. OR I want a total refund of my money. The company overcharged for service and replacement parts --that may very well not have been needed because the fridge problem has not been solved. The service repair person they sent did NOT repair the refrigerator and we have been charged $1059.70 for nothing.

On Thursday I phoned for a washing machine that wasn't spinning/draining. Told $80 for a service call and that the $80 would be waived if I went ahead with repairs. Tyrone came late in the afternoon and me that I had to pay $280 for labour and that we needed a part which wouldn't be expensive. I asked what it would cost and he had to order it but thought about $140. So we're now at well over $400. He even remarked that it's cheaper than buying a new washer when I expressed my concern. He spoke to my husband on the phone and confirmed that it would be about $140 and when he came back to install it there would be no further labour charges. He said he would put a rush on it, parts would call me with the price and he would be back on Saturday to install it. I had to pay the $280 plus tax by debit as his machine couldn't take credit cards. Called Parts this morning and Sonja told me the part will cost $614. Who would pay $900 to repair a washer that didn't even cost that much. When I told her I was told $140 she said she couldn't comment on our verbal conversation. When I asked to speak to Tyrone she said he wasn't working until Monday and I could try back then, which is stunning since he told me to my face that he would be back on Saturday. ***. We are out $316.40 and there is no owner or manager to speak to except Sonya.

I am so ***ed in Appliance repairman for the way they treat their customers that I wish everyone could know what a horrible experience I had with them. I had a call into them for a repair on my *** Built-in refrigerator back in November 2018 and managed to fix it for $1200.00. A few weeks ago I noticed the same problems and decided to call them again. BIG MISTAKE. Instead of trying to repair the fridge they informed me that I required a new compressor at a cost of $1800.00 and seeing that the fridge cost $8000 I decided to go ahead and replace. They came in replaced the compressor then informed me that I needed a defroster for my freezer and they would do it free of charge. Well that's when the problems started. My fridge didn't work and after two weeks of phone calls and lies and the runaround no one even cared to listen to the fact that my fridge was not working they kept saying sorry the part is on back order. I have names beginning with the so called manager *** who is never in or sick, or *** who is a *** and doesn't respect customers or *** who laughed in my face and said sorry you are in cue for a call back from *** the head technician who apparently doesn't work in the office. understanding my frustrations of getting no where I decided to look at reviews no address is on Appliance Repairman website, the first sign I should of seen. so I *** Revdex.com and low and behold over 140 complaints against them and found out the address. My son offered to go and speak with them because I was getting nowhere and wow to my surprise *** was there who apparently doesn't work in the office. I called there put on hold for 15 minutes spoke with *** gave him my *** with the company and within 30 minutes sent over the technician with a part and fixed the fridge. PLEASE IF ANYONE READS THIS DO NOT USE APPLIANCE REPAIR MAN THEY WILL ONLY CAUSE YOUR BLOOD TO BOIL....THEY ARE A BUNCH OF ***. To boot the compressor only costs 600 to replace and they charged me 1800.000 plus tax

Desired Outcome

i want the business to stop *** people and to respect people when they call in. i will make sure they go out of business

On my initial phone calls to this company on April 7-8, 2019 I was told that if I proceeded with the quote (that their Technician was going to provide the next day during the service call), then the $80 service call fee would go towards the quote. If I decided to not proceed then I'd pay the $80. I thought that was fair and agreed.
***, "one of their most senior Technician" I was told later, assessed our equipment and handed me the quote stating that it would cost $316.40 + the cost of the parts to fix, and would be completed within a week. It was too steep a price for me so I agreed to pay the $80 that was initially agreed upon. He replied that I HAD to pay $316.40. I told him that that was not what was relayed to me over the phone. He stated that he was not aware of what I was referring to. We went back and forth a couple times then I decided I'd just pay the $316.40 + the parts cost, as the equipment needed to be repaired within a week before a big event.
Long story short, not fixed within a week. Then after making five phone calls to them over the next three weeks with many promises and reassurances, I finally started proceedings with my credit card company to dispute the charge.

Desired Outcome

Charge is being disputed; my credit card company has received my request and is investigating.

I contacted Appliance repairman *** in need of a fridge repair. I was told over the phone that it was $80 for a service call and at that time the technician would offer a quote to repair. The tech came to my home and instructed me I would have to pay $320 for labor costs before he would look into my issue. The Labour costs were as follows. 1. condenser/air flow SVC $80, 2. Cooling system SVC $128, 3. Main board Service $112. Having not looked at the fridge, how was it they would charge $320 before taking time to find the issue? I reluctantly paid the $80 plus tax feeling sorry of the technician being caught in the middle of wanting to do his job and his company extorting money for service it has yet to be diagnosed.

If a senior citizen' fridge was unplugged they would have to pay $320 plus tax for the technician to plug it in for them?

I feel the service call should have included an inspection of my fridge and a proper quote issued once the problem with the device was found. What I paid for was a technician to drive to my house and it cost me $90.40 and I still have no idea what is wrong with my fridge.

Desired Outcome

Full reembursment of the $90.40 The company to be held accountable for not providing service and offering a quote of which they have not diagnosed.

Oct 2018 our 6 year old *** fridge developed a leak which we did not notice till the kitchen floor flooded and leaked into the basement damaging the ceiling. The repair cost us $60,000.
We called *** once we realized the leak was from the water hose into the fridge.
Appliance repairman was sent and the repair was done which we paid $370.
In March we noticed the same issue occurred and the water hose into the fridge was leaking again causing damage to the floor and basement ceiling again. I called appliance repairman and they said there would be a charge as there is no warranty on the repair. I stated my copy of the repair receipt shows a 1 yr warranty. I spoke to *** and sent a copy of the repair bill. Several days later Appliance Repairman called and said they would repair the issue at no charge and booked an appointment for today. They called back this morning and stated they are cancelling the repair as there is no warranty.
As you can imagine this is not acceptable business practice. Please look into this and let me know as soon as possible.
Thank you

Desired Outcome

I would normally be ok with the issue being repaired under warranty however upon investigation, it seems like Appliance Repairman has a very poor history of repair and shoddy business practices. I do not trust them to repair the issue correctly and therefore request a refund so that I can have the issue corrected properly.

Yesterday I called Appliance Repairman as I was having issues with my oven lighting. I was told that it costs $80 just to come out, but that they would give me an estimate of the cost of work to be done, and if I agreed to the work the $80 would not be charged. Today (May 14 2019) I had a technician come out from Appliance Repairman to work on our stove which was having an igniter issue. I knew in advance that it was an $80 fee for them to come out, but this is something I have had before with service calls so I thought nothing of it. The employee who came, *** looked at the oven for about 1 minute and said that in order to do any work on the oven it would be $320 which was much more than I thought it would be. I assumed at this point that it was because he knew the issue and that this was the 'quote'. I needed to sign a paper to agree to the $320 labour quote. I felt trapped at this point as I would need to forfeit the $80 if I did not choose to forgo the work, so I agreed. A few minutes later I was informed that the igniter needs replacing and would cost $215 more. To me, I was confused because I had thought he'd already diagnosed the issue and that the $320 was to fix it. (Which I already thought was too much). The entire time I was in shock at the numbers, but I felt I was already in too deep to turn around. The repair was complete by 12:45, at which time I was handed a $604.00 bill. I was only allowed to pay with cash or debit, not credit card. I felt completely *** and didn't know what to do, so I paid the bill. Reading the bill, it is unclear why it was so expensive or what the charges were. It states Electric Circuit SVC for $80, Heating System SVC $128, Mainboard/Timer SVC $112. Afterwards I looked at reviews online and realized that I had been completely ***. To make things worse, the oven is still taking time to heat up, and has a smell. Afterwards I was left feeling completely taken advantage of. Afterwards we called the company, we talked for 15 minutes with a woman *** told us to "Let it go, if you get a refund through your bank we'll just send it to collections, so that's your choice. Technically he did install a new igniter". She played off of the fact that I didn't say anything when the technician was here, however, I'm not a confrontational person and was honestly in a bit of shock through it all. As a consumer, I didn't know my choices in this situation, and only in hindsight can I see that I should not have paid or agreed to anything.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund. In the least, I would like to $320 + tax labour refund.

Technician did basic diagnostic test, did not even attempt to dismantle or inspect unit. The charge for these tests was $293.80 just to advise me that I need a new motor. He the quotes me $1300 for a new motor. Manufacturer's price is $640 total. (Taxes and shipping) Several other people fell victim to this company's horrible service and over charging for parts and services.

Desired Outcome

I would be ok to pay the $80 fee just to have a tech come out. The remaining amount should be refunded.
