Hi [redacted],

Review: I have called on two seperate occasions to cancel my Beenverified.com account. On both occasions, I was told by a customer service representative that my account was canceled. My bank account has been billed without authorization on two occasions since that time. 1. $19.62 on 3-**-14 2. 4-**-14 (pending) Total:$39.24Desired Settlement: I demand all accounts to be closed and all unauthorized withdrawals to be remitted immediately.

Business

Response:

I'm very sorry to hear there was any trouble with the account. The account was not previously canceled and does not show a record of the customer speaking with customer service. The account was also still in use through April 2014. The account is now canceled and the two requested charges of $19.62 (dated March 2014 and April 2014) have been refunded back to the card used to create the account. There will be no further billing to the account. A confirmation email of the cancellation and the refund was sent separately to the email address associated with the account.

Review: I signed up for BeenVerified's services and was not aware of a subscription charge. I called the number many times to request to cancel and kept getting disconnected. I kept trying every day for a month with no luck at all. Today (12/*/2013) I call and I get through to someone, we are talking just fine and then when I bring up how I want to cancel she acts as though she can't hear me and hangs up.Desired Settlement: If I'm unable to obtain a refund I will speak with a lawyer. I wish to have all monies returned to my account before this month is over.

Hi there,

Review: I noticed I had been charged twice over the weekend by a company I had never heard of. I contacted them to find out who they were, and come to find out they are a company I have never heard of, nor would I need to take advantage of any type of service they have to offer. On November [redacted] two unauthorized charges were withdrawn from my bank account via my check card totaling about $35. When I called in I requested a refund in which I was told I would be issued for both these transactions. She then began to ask me person information such as my email, name, zip code, phone number. I asked her how they came across my information and she said she pretty much didn't know. I said I wanted to know how they got my credit card information and she couldn't tell me. The only thing she told me was that the email on their system was different than what I gave her. Of course it was different!!! I never even applied or spoke to this company!! I am now alarmed at any information they may now how being that I had to give it to be refunded. Not to mention, that the two charges put me literally in the hole. I am very upset and will filing a dispute and doing whatever I can to get refunded and make sure people know about this bogus company.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of both transactions charged, and also I want this company looked into for illegal business practices and fraud.

Review: I believe that during a brief internet visit to the site, the site automatically gathered unauthorized data from my computer, under the misrepresented and unauthorized guise of a 'download' which I was unable to stop the process - which is considered a severe privacy breech.Desired Settlement: Verify that absolutely no data was collected from my computer, and if data was collected, permanently delete all unauthorized data collected and provide verification.

Review: The company, BeenVerified.com placed a charge on my credit card. I have never ordered anything from them or their services.Desired Settlement: I would like them listed as a bad organization to do business with and possibly scammers who are committing internet theft by placing false charges on peoples accounts/

Surprisingly, I got a response from the company BeenVerified.com and they have removed the charges. Note the charges should have not been made in the first place.

Hi [redacted],

Review: I have a friend who is 101 years old , and she wants to find her nephew. I got online and

chose beenverified.com. The info was that it was a free search, so I started with them. I gave them the full name , they gave me info that caused me to believe they had found him. Then they said I had to pay 9.98 so I did, then I was told that I had to pay another fee. Then I noticed they had changed the spelling of the person I was looking for.

I called them this morning and they said I was mistaken, they did not show me as a member .Desired Settlement: I want a refund , and I want them to stop misleading people

I received my credit card statement on April **2014 showing a charge for $22.86 for beenverified billed on April [redacted]. I called beenverified on May **2014 and talked to [redacted] who informed me I needed to cancel on April **2014 to avoid further charges. I explained to her that I beleived I canceled in time, and that I havent used the service since. She told me that she couldnt refund my money.Desired Settlement: $22.86

Response:

I'm very sorry to hear the customer had any trouble with the account. The account was created on March [redacted], 2014 with a monthly $22.86 subscription. The subscription is auto-renewing and customers can always view their next billing date in their account information. The account was automatically billed on April [redacted], 2014. The account was canceled later the same day it was billed for the renewal. This is why [redacted] canceled but then saw a charge for renewal. We do state in our Member Agreement that we have a no refund policy, which must be accepted upon sign-up.

This company is a joke. The information on the site is mostly wrong or outdated. They also scam you into reoccurring payments. It is unethical to note that payments our reoccurring in the small print of the terms and services. Never use this site. Legal action should be taken against this company who is purposely trying to scam their customers.

Information on site is fake and misleading. They say they can't edit info .if something is not right it should be fixed and not displayed as a fact! This also adds to public identity theft and can ruin relationships .

Review: About 2 years ago, on 8/*/13, I used Been Verified's service for one month, and canceled after the month, because I knew it had a monthly charge. I was using it for work. I made sure to cancel after the first month, with various reminders to myself to do so within the timeframe. I just found out from my credit card company that they have been charging me every month for the last 24 months! I never used this service again after the first month, and called to cancel. It is an automated cancellation system - not at all accountable it turns out. I just called to complain and they said they never received my cancellation, and cancelled my account (2 years later!), and issued me a 9 month refund. So I am still out and over charged over $300 for a service I never used past the 1st month.

My membership ID number is [redacted] Also, I am far from the only person they have conned this way: [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the services I was charged for, never used, even after my cancellation.

Response:

Hi [redacted],

Review: I filed an earlier complaint with Revdex.com-NY about Been.verified.com - I had used them, once, about 4 or 5 months ago, then, they gave me information that was no good, I cancelled the subscription then. I just received an email stating I, just, cancelled the subscription on, May **, 2015 at 4:53p.m. and that they were refunding $25.47. This does not cover all the money they took off my [redacted] Master Card. My wife, and I figure that they have taken over $200...the earlier complaint said over $100, but I looked over the statement from [redacted] and found that Been Verified has also been using [redacted] to take money off my [redacted] Card. I want Been Verified and [redacted] to return all money that they have taken from my account, I've noticed, from reports that Been Verified has numerous complaints, against them for these and similar acts.Desired Settlement: I want Been Verified and [redacted] to refund all the money they have taken over the last 4-5 months...some charges show up every day, even when I haven't been home and on the computer. They said that I cancelled yesterday at 4:00 something, neither my wife, nor I, were home, or on any computers at that particular time. I will be sending you all letters, stating such. I am aware that they are violating Federal Law, by their actions, willfully and with their and have been, for a period of time,.

Response:

Hi [redacted],

I was looking online for information about an old classmate and saw this website. Upon further investigation, I decided that opening an account with BeenVerified was too much money for what I wanted. As I exited the program, an "offer" message came up -- one time use for $1.00. I signed up but much to my dismay, it was really an account that I was signing up for. I have been charged more than $25 p/m for several months. Continued to get the charge on my credit card even after I cancelled it. The "offer" was misleading and untrue, and undoing it was a time-consuming hassle. After a phone call, I was offered a refund of $75 but I'm still out $100 for the mistake of trusting this website's one-time use offer. Won't happen again!

Review: I ordered a subscription April ** they billed me but I couldn't access info They ask for additional money to access. I told them to canc and refund. They said canc means I won't be billed for renewal but I have access till Oct I never could access to begin with, which is why I cancelled in the first place. I WANT MY MONEY BACKDesired Settlement: FULL REFUND

I have spoken with [redacted] over the phone and emailed her with my direct line, to her yahoo email address, support ticket#[redacted]. The information provided so far for the account does not correspond with BeenVerified information. The amount charged does not correspond with our pricing, so it appears she visited BeenVerified but did not complete sign-up with us. We do not find that [redacted] has a BeenVerified account and cannot find where she was billed by BeenVerified. She may have signed up with a different company and website, advertising a similar service.
