I had a leaking T&P value in my water heater. I called Benjamin Frankin Plumbing for help, because their contact information was on the water heater. Mike Pack came and suggested that I replace the whole water heater as it is already 10 years old. He said the tank can fail anytime and can cause flooding in my house. He said he will be able to take care of it the same day and will be installed to the city code. He initially gave me a quote of around 4,000 dollars. I told him it is too much and then he spoke with someone and lowered the price to $2,500.81. He said he need 25% upfront to get the process started. I gave him $645 as deposit. After Mike left, I did a quick research and found out the amount mentioned to be was way too much as compared to others. I called Benjamin Franklin back and told them it was too much and I don't want to change the water heater with them and asked them to refund my deposit. Mike Pack told me that the deposit is nonrefundable. I was in shock. He never mentioned anything about it. He just had me singed on the ipad. He said you signed the document; I told him there was nothing mentioned or shown about nonrefundable. He said well you signed the document so either you forfeit the deposit or continue with the replacement. Since $645 is lots of money, I agreed to proceed. Installation was completed. My city inspector came to inspect and told me that the water heater supposed to have automatic shut off value installed in it as that is the city code. He failed the inspection and told me Benjamin Franklin is fully aware of this requirement. I called them back and they said that they will come to discuss this. Just now Mike Pack came and told me that he was not aware of this requirement and asking me to pay $691 to add the shutoff valve.
I checked for the valve and it costs only $161 dollars. I told him I am never going to fall for his trick and asked him to leave my house. If there was an option to give zero star, I would I have given. I will never every recommend Benjamin Franklin to anyone.

[redacted] came out with the camera and scoped out our sewer line He was kind, courteous and very knowledgable He gave us the estimate on replacing the sewer line and our service was scheduled for the following week [redacted] and [redacted] arrive on time the morning of the day the sewer line replacement was supposed to occur They too were very thorough I was very please they were able to complete the job without tearing up the sidewalk I highly recommend the service of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing

***, This is Marc from Benjamin Franklin PlumbingI am writing in response to complaint # [redacted] filed by Mr [redacted] *** I will first go over the service timeline for this customer to clearly identify dates of service and payments rendered: 8/29/16: Snaked the mainline on an emergency call basis for $9/10/16: Snaked the mainline (regular scheduling) for $9/12/16: Performed jetter cleaning service on mainline for $(price reduced by $because of previous snaking) 10/1/16: Performed jetter cleaning service on mainline for $ In most situations involving a clogged main sewer line, we will attempt to snake it firstIf that doesn’t work sufficiently, a jetter cleaning service is recommendedIn many of these situations, the customer’s main sewer line needs a permanent repair performed after both cleaning services to ensure no further issues stemming from a damaged main sewer lineTo ensure sufficient access to the main sewer line to make a repair, both of the cleaning services (snake and jetter) are usually requiredThat being said, we performed the snake and jetter services twice before doing a main sewer repair for this customerOur error in this situation was the delay in which we did a repair estimate and then in performing said repairsDue to these circumstances, we are willing to refund one of the mainline snaking charges and one of the jetter cleaning chargesWe offer to refund the most expensive of each ($and $934) to more closely accommodate our customer’s wishesWe have tried to contact the customer by phone with this offer, but are as of yet unsuccessfulWe will continue to attempt to contact them until a resolution is agreed uponThank you

xxxxx from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was extremely professional and such a pleasant personHe called me back within a minutes of my original call He reached my house in a short time afterHe put his shoe footies on to protect my kitchen floor before he entered my home He immediately accessed the problem and took water test to find out the level of chlorine levels in my waterHe explained to me that the water faucet was the reason I had a water leak that had caused a lot of water damage to my floorHe was patient as I went out and purchased a new faucet to replace the damaged oneOnce he replaced the faucet he went into great detail regarding BF's plans to protect me from future plumbing problemsHe suggested for me to use a dryer to fully dry under the sink to avoid any mold issuesxxxxx also referred me to a company to access the damage that was done from the water to go about having my floor repairedHe went above and beyond by reminding me to register my new faucetHe left his business card and told me to call if I have any problemsI'm so pleased and grateful that this was a minor problem and that xxxxx was able to fix it in a timely manner!

I had an underground leak and had to raise all my pipes to the atticBenjamin Franklin had the most competitive free quote in the areaThey were easy to schedule and sent a team of technicians to my houseThe technicians were friendly and down to earthThey moved a big piece of furniture and cleared out closets to get to my plumbingAnd I didnt have to clear out my atticI have to put it all back but that is okayThe drywall cuts were clean and professionalBenjamin Franklin cleaned up and took the drywall trash with them! They did the whole job in one day (they say sometimes it will take two)! Overall, I had a very pleasent experience with Benjamin Franklin and will recomend them to friends and all my social media You have to find and hire a contractor to repair the drywall and your home owners insurance will cover thatHave the insurance adjustor come out after the plumbing is repairedOn a side note, Do not hire Charles T [redacted] , General Contractor of Jen-Mel Contracting LLC He took my money and did not finish the job! Boooo

The employee who was sent to my home to repair a leak in my water service performed a great jobHis name was [redacted] and he was able to fix my water problem quicklyIf I ever require service again I will request that [redacted] is the man that gets the service call!

When I called Benjamin Franklin plumbing for clearing sink blockage in my house, The office lady was very helpful in setting an appointment within a dayShe also told me that if work was not completed there will be no charge which is unusual as most companies want inspection fee just to comeAlthough the plumber was not able to open the pipe with the roto cable, he appeared competent and tried his bestI would strongly recommend the company for its prompt customer friendly service

Our Operations Manager, Dave M [redacted] has left several messages with Ms [redacted] and as of today, we still have not have been able to talk to herWe would like to get this issue resolved but are waiting for a call back

Our garbage disposal stopped working and we called Ben Franklin, who made sure they scheduled us for the same day They were at our home in hours Before the tech stepped in the house he put on shoe protectors to keep our kitchen floor clean He out in the disposal in less than half an hour We were very grateful that we found such a great company

We had a broken shower diverter and afraid there would be water leaking in the wall We contacted Benjamin Franklin Plumbing PJ, a service pro, came out to our home on a Sunday evening as soon as he was notifiedHe was able to fix the problem and we thank him for his prompt reply to our call
