I am following up about this complainAfter a conversation with Marc [redacted] at Ben Franklin Plumbing on May 8, I was assured that a refund would be processed after I provided him with the appropriate documentationI did so on May Despite these assurances, and attempts to follow up on May and May 28, this refund has not been processed, and there has been no communication or good faith effort on the part of Ben FranklinThis complaint is not resolvedCarl

We were called out to Ms [redacted] home on 6/16/because her drains were backing upOur drain technician gave her straight forward pricing to cable her drain line and that we would need to pull and reset her toilet in order to do thatThe cost for this service was $to pull and reset the toilet and she had a coupon for the drain clear for $for a total of $She approved the work which is shown on our invoiceOur drain technician offered to have the sewer line scoped at no additional charge and she approved thatUpon cameraing the line, our technician found a belly in the line going out of the house from the crawl spaceHe also found moisture around the drain line in the crawl spaceWith this information, it was recommended to her that the line be excavated to fix the belly and, at the same time, correct any leaking into the crawl spaceThe client choose to have the problem dug up by someone else without getting a second opinionShe informed our Service Manager, that no one else cameraed the sewer lineWhen it was offered that we camera the line to verify the findings, she declinedWhen he asked her if she had someone else camera the line to disapprove our findings, she stated that was not necessary.The company Ms [redacted] had dig up the line found a separate problem with a leaking hose faucet and they fixed that and stopped diggingThe line we recommended be fixed has still not been addressedOur Service Manager recommended she get a company equipped with a sewer camera to give her a second opinion since the reason for the original call was a clogged sewer line and not a hose bibShe informed him that she was not going to spend any more moneyOur records show that she received all the services she paid for

I needed a repair of the water heater that was installed by Ben Franklin in my home several years ago The plumber diagnosed the problem as a faulty thermostat(s) He required my credit card before he could start work I have been a loyal customer for many years Both of my credit cards were declinedThe plumber would not start the repair without an approved credit card I have never failed to pay them in the past Then the plumber refused to leave until I paid him for making the trip to my homeFinally, I applied for a credit line and was approved I then received a call from the high pressure salesman, "we could replace the parts for $but you really ought to replace the water heater FOR ONLY AN ADDITIONAL $ I told the sales manager where he could shove his new water heater I promised never to do business with the company again I said, "FIX THE PARTS AND GO TO HELL" The plumber repaired my water heater When he was waiting on my doorstep for an approved payment, I had a good mind to call the police and have the plumber removed from my home for trespassingDO NOT BUY THE SERVICE CONTRACT! They will come every year and bug you for purchasing a full bathroom remodel They are pests! And the prices are high

Tech was very experienced, very pleasant and very patient answered all our concerns and in all did a great jobI would recommend Randy and his company Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to anyone

I'll start by saying Rohan and Vinny did a good job with my repair and were very personableGood guys, good conversationThe rating would be stars if not for the priceI called in the morning and they were sent out to me in the afternoonThey quoted $just to replace a toilet shut-off valve and a plastic elbow connector under the floor (via the downstairs ceiling where they had very clear and easy access because I cut the ceiling open to see where my leak was coming from)I could have refused and went for more quotes but I would have had my whole house w/o water for another day or twothey knew thatI questioned the price and they showed me that Ben Franklin's system is charging $just for the parts***?!?! They say they stock their trucks to save you time and money BUT they had to wait like mins for someone to drop off a $plastic connectorBelieve methey are not doing you a favor by stocking their trucks because they are charging 5x cost for those partsI already knew what had to be done but wasn't confident enough to trust myselfAfter seeing the job, I could have done it myself for around $retail cost for the parts they replacedSo, they wanted an extra $for two guys on a job that takes 30-mins for one personThe guys spent about hours at my house standing around chatting mostly because they had to wait for the partIf this is how most jobs go, then THAT is why they overcharge! I was able to get my cost down to around $but that's still VERY high for this repairI don't mind paying someone for their skilled labor but this was overkillI was expecting maybe $for parts and $for labormaxWhen you ask for a discount, the only thing they offer is that the only good discount comes from signing up for their maintenance program @ $19/mo which gets you 15% off the current visit and future visitsQuite a racket! I took off stars because it's obvious they took advantage of the semi-emergency I had even though it was during business hoursI would not consider them for any repairs in the future

As usual, Ben Franklin responded to our issue in a friendly, efficient, concerned, professional manner We know they will back up their work and always respond in a timely manner

Had xxxxx out to look at my shower that was drippingFound the issue but noticed some more issues with the overall plumbing Fixed my problem and even told me how to stop the issues down the road Once I\'m ready I\'ll be calling xxxxx to install my new filter \r\n\r\nThanks xxxxx!

[redacted] Hi ***,I just wanted to give you an update on [redacted] .Our Account Manager did receive a call back from her this afternoonWe went out to her home on 2/25/for a clogged drainOur drain technician cleared her main line and cameraed the line and suggested that she have a Project Manager come take a look at it since there were concerns about the root intrusion issueOur Project Manager gave her Straight Forward Price for a line replacementHer neighbor had used us in the past and was very pleased with our service and that's why Ms [redacted] called usWhat we offered her was a long-term solution to a continual problem rather than an ongoing short term solutionThe roots will continue to grow and compromise the lineOur Account Manager will address this issue with our General Manager next week and we will call her back to see what resolution we can reach with her.We will update you once we have that conversation with her.Regards,Cindy W***
