My hot water heater was leaking, and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was able to get someone to my house within an hour of my calling them The service pro, xxxxx, was on time, polite, and had my new hot water heater installed and the old one taken away in no time at allHe was also extremely helpful with providing information on cleanup and restoration

I had a very negative experience using Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. My plumber was [redacted] There was a leak in my basement. [redacted] indicated that the problem was my sump pump. He said the least expensive fix would be to adjust the floats and that would cost $155. He said that if that didn't resolve the issue, my sump pump would need to be replaced and that would cost $1700. [redacted] said the pump was "burnt up". Fortunately for me this service call was on the weekend and he could not get the sump pump. I called another plumber and he solved my problem with a $20 piggyback float. $20 is a whole lot less than the $2000 that [redacted] estimated. The float was installed and that "burnt up" sump pump works like a charm. Do not use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They are a rip off. They were going to charge me $2000 at Christmas time for an unnecessary repair. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB and share my story with [redacted] on [redacted] I plan to tell all my family and friends about my negative experience.

To the head of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Delaware, The men who represented your company in our home during the last weeks have been hard working, courteous, and professional(How refreshing is that !!!) First was Vince on Sunday 9/18/following an internet search and call to your business for a minor plumbing issue Vince, explained what would need to be done and handled himself so well concerning our minor issue, that we felt comfortable discussing other plumbing problems we were having with him at that initial consultation Long story short, we ended up having a complete remodel of our bathroom done as well as the work needed to finish the recent complete remodel of our kitchen There was no pressure or hard sell Just an honest evaluation and possible solutions to the problems we were having The following week, three men (John and Camron on Thursday and Friday and Jack on Friday) spent time at our home fixing our kitchen sink and refrigerator plumbing problems (everything works perfectly now) and removing the bathtub and tile surround from our bathroom (this, by the way, was a very old, poorly functioning, leaking, ugly monster soaking tub - Not an easy task to say the least) I was not home during most of the work but my retired husband continually commented on their extensive knowledge-base, their politeness, and their hard work ethics Unfortunately, upon removing the tub, it was discovered that some of the bathroom subfloor had suffered damage 2nd to the leaking of the tub, so the tile floor had to be removed and replaced Again, an evaluation was done, the problem was explained and we were given options to solve the problem This was presented to me by Jack, again all very professional without even a hint of the hard-sell so prevalent in our world today An alternative plan was made to accommodate our need of a functioning shower over the weekend and workers were scheduled to come in and complete the revised project the following week On the following Monday we were pleased to see John again and were introduced to Charley Both were extremely polite, hard working, and resourceful in the extremely challenging task of removing the tile floor, laying a perfectly level subfloor and then my beautiful new high quality laminate tiles Every piece is lined up perfectly (a very important thing to me) We observed how hard of a job it was but never heard a complaint The job just got done and was done well Most of the nights, they (John and Charley) did not leave until after 7:PM during the 2nd week Today, the project ended, (with the help of a new polite, courteous, hard worker named Chris, and we are well pleased (as is not always the case with me - don't get me started on my prior Internet/TV/Phone provider) Anyway, all plumbing issues were addressed, and all holes were patchedOur new bathtub, surround, and shower doors were perfectly installed as well as a new toilet, vanity, countertop sink and accompanying fixtures Oh, and I can't forget my beautiful new, perfectly laid, floor So in closing I would like to make a shout out to the top man at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing in Delaware - You have chose very well in the men who represented you with our project More money than we originally intended, but worth every penny Thank-you and we will be back PS: To the men who worked in our home - Hurricaine will surely miss each and every one of you :)

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:To begin with they did leave messages on these dates knowing from conversations we've had that I get home from work between 3:and 4:The first date they did call back and we discussed a resolution, the second date they called at 10:while I was at workI will not call them back because the resolution we initially talked about and I thought both parties agreed on was NOT (as it turned out) something they were going to do in the first placeDuring our first conversation they made an attempt to justify charging me $for a $part due to customer serviceThey then offered to give me a $credit voucher for future servicesMy reply was that that would be useless to me and was unacceptableI then said that if they would credit my Master Card for that amount I would be grudgingly satisfiedThey said that sounded fair but that they had to talk with the owner to get an ok and that they would call me the next eveningThey did call back the next evening and told me that the owner would go one step further and make it a $credit voucherWhen I didn't say anything, the manager asked why I wasn't pleased as hell and then denied ever talking about a credit back to my M.CI couldn't have been MORE CLEAR about NO CREDIT VOUCHER but rather a credit to M.CHe then said he would do things, send me a credit voucher for $and write a dispute rebucking all I write on this sight and "HOPE FOR THE BEST".So far I have yet to see the voucher they said they would send and now they want me to call them?? They talk about customer service when this was supposed to be a "courtesy" call to begin with that ended up costing me more than the disputed $We made an appointment, they said they needed a to hour window of time to do the call only to call at the last minute saying they wouldn't make it and that we needed to rescheduleWe did only for them to cancel at the last minute of their window againMy wife took off both of these days to be home for this serviceThe third time is when they finally came, again my wife taking time to be hereHOW MUCH WAS THAT WORTH wasting days of her time??
