Blink Fitness Reviews (316)

Review: I walked to the Blink fitness location back in August requesting that my account be cancelled, since I was going to be going to college. I was on the monthly subscription plan.

The clerk told me it would be taken care of, so I left. A few months later, I find out that I have $77 in overdue balance at Blink, and that they had sent over my debt to a debt collection agency.

I tried emailing the customer support a while back, but they refused to look at my case without me providing a cancellation form, which I had never received. In any case, it should have been simple to cancel my account, since I would only need 45 days of notice and cancellation should have been free for my membership...

I went back and forth with them, trying to explain that I never received a form, but eventually they just stopped responding to my emails.

I started getting calls from a debt collection law firm threatening to hurt my credit score. So, I went back to Blink's customer support and tried to email them asking for a phone number. They told me that they only respond to customers through email, so I told them of my complaint again through email. This time, they didn't even bother giving me a response.

In a time where there are customer support examples such as [redacted] definitely has some of the worst customer support I have ever seen.Desired Settlement: Complete absolution of all debts, including that which has been sent to the law firm, and (finally) the cancellation of my account.

Hello,As stated in previous email communication with this member, cancellations are processed by either visiting the club, filling out a cancellation form at the front desk, or by submitting a certified letter to Blink Member Services. We practice this methodology as it does provides a receipt of cancellation for the member in the event something isn't processed properly. We do require a 45 day notice with a pro-rate to be collected from the date the cancellation form is signed or from the date the mail is postmarked. This is our policy for all members and is stated on each membership contract as well. There is no record of cancellation on file for this member's account, meaning no note or copy of the cancellation form/letter requesting cancellation. Despite sending multiple past due notifications via email, to the same email address used to contact us and that is listed on the member's account, we received no response until 4 days before the membership was set to cancel due to final notice collections. Three months of dues must accrue before the account is set to cancel and is sent to collections. The account was cancelled on 11/**/15 but the balance must be cleared in order for the account to be officially closed. Best,Blink Member Services

Review: I received a notice from a collection agency, I was not aware of that there was a problem with my checking acct payment. I did not receive mail stating that there was a problem. They did not give me fair due process and opportunity to correct the problem. I am an excellent credit worthy consumer, who will gladly address billing matters. As a consumer I expect for debtors to notify me. I contacted them and they stated that they emailed me. I did not receive an email. Why didn't they send a notice to home address which is on file.

They obviously do not wish to provide excellent customer service and relation. Blink needs to change their billing policy notification.Desired Settlement: Matter to be taken out of the collection agency, not paid for services I did not receive. I have not used their services for over one year.

Thank you for your assistance.

Our members are sent an email notification every time we are unable to collect a payment. If they go 3 consecutive months without making a payment the account is cancelled and sent to collections.

Review: Hello,I signed up for the $15/month no commitment plan. They referred me to a computer to sign up, and only after I had submitted my payment information did they inform me that canceling my contract would incur a fee. When I asked how much, the front desk told me it varied by day. I called the gym yesterday to cancel my contract, and the front desk told me I had to be there in person. I told him that wasn't possible (I'm away for the summer) and he said there was no other way around it. I asked him how to contact corporate, and he told me to look online.I found a way to submit an email and requested cancellation. They told me I could either cancel in person, or submit a certified letter. It was only then that I found out I had to give 45 day notice, with a pro-rate to be collected from the day the cancellation form is signed or the day the mail is postmarked. They threatened to send my account to collections if I don't pay. However, I was not told ahead of time about the 45 days notice OR the fact that I couldn't cancel over the phone or online (forget the fact that they only told me about the cancellation fee before I already submitted my payment information). Thank you,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want to cancel my "no commitment" plan without being charged for any future months, or for the cancellation itself.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Blink Fitness (All Metropolitan NY area locations) regarding complaint [redacted]. They let me know on July ** that if I don't pay the bill, they will send my account to collections, so on that date I mailed in my cancellation request as a certified letter per their instruction. According to their email, "We do require 45 day notice, with a pro-rate to be collected from the day the cancellation form is signed or the day the mail is postmarked." So I am still waiting. Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I was advised by my doctor not to engage in exercise due to my [redacted] and was placed on bed rest. I called the club and explained this - I was directed to their website. Their website indicated a cancellation policy of physically going to the club or sending a registered/certified mailing. As I have been on bed rest (and as a [redacted] women, legally disabled, and a protected class), I could do neither. I called the club and explained this to no avail. I then sent an email explaining. I was told I would have to figure it out. I then emailed customer service again indicating that this was illegal and copying the [redacted]. I indicated in my email that this served as my official notice of cancellation and gave the 45 days notice (I continued to pay even though I was unable to work out). Although there was 4 people copied on the email - no one responded and said that the email cancellation was not acceptable. Then I started getting collection emails. I emailed again and received a very rude response saying I was not cancelled because I didn't mail them or physically go to the location. I then responded again saying this was not right and pointing to my original cancellation and asking the [redacted] to get involved. No one responded. I believe that I properly cancelled under the circumstances.Desired Settlement: I paid through the 45 day cancellation period. I would like a formal affirmation of cancellation effective October 2014 and no further collection action.

Hi [redacted], To ensure we are reviewing the correct account for you, can you provide us with some more identifying information? Address, phone number, bar code ID, or email address? Thank you,Blink member services

Review: Blink Fitness does not have a customer service numbers for their clients. The member services department does not take phone calls only emails to which they rarely respond. I was giving mis information about my membership when I tried to cancel my the fitness center. My membership expire d on 2/**/2013 and Blink extended my contract without notifying me and I had already reported to them from December 2012 that I wanted to cancel. I submitted a written letter to link on 3/*/2013 about my cancellation request they told me my membership will continued for 45days more. Then I was charged and annual member ship fee after I requested to cancel. Blink has tried to charged my card several time and I told them not to. When I sign up a copy of thier policys and procedure was never provided to me. When I tried to fight the charges Blink told me P & P is on website under FAQ. I do not believe that is correct business practices. Now they want to collect $94 from me when I only owe $40Desired Settlement: I owe blink $40 for my member ship dues for January 2013 and February 2013. And that is all am willing to me. Extending my contract just to charged me an annual fee after I request to cancel is poor. Not being able to speak to someone on the phone is also poor, When u call the fitness center to get answers they tell you to email member services.

Sincerely,

Review: My complaint is services denied although money was taken from My debit card and my insurance information (paper work)has been lost. So I now feel my identity and debit card have been compromised by blink fitness. I have provided proof of purchase and followed all that blink fitness has asked of me but they still have not resolved the problems. I would like to request a full refund of $181.00 that I paid for a training session of 6 sessions for my son Vasaan Burris. Blink has refused to continue services although money was paid. I have been informed by the trainer he has not been paid. So he will not continue sessions.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a full refund back to my debit card.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:the business have been given me the same response since I made the initial complaint. On January *,2016. I honestly do not see how they have made efforts to resolve this issue. My debit card dispute team has informed me a hey are ready to file a dispute as well. I will only allow 72 more hours to resolve before I agree for my card to file a dispute.
