I currently have a service plan with Uptown Plumbing and Heating After my only furnace went out yesterday they sent a technician who in hours couldn't get the issue resolved, but bought and replaced the wrong part which did not fix the issue They then sent a second technician since the first tech couldn't resolve the issue He identified the problem in minutes but they can't come back out to fix it for many more days meanwhile it is -degrees and my pipes are going to burst Meanwhile they charged me $to not fix my problem Terrible service and terrible customer support Would not recommend to anyone

SCAM! I scheduled a basic tune up for the winter The technician came out and drilled a hole in the vent, stating the furnace had been installed backwards so a drilled hole was the only way he could inspect itHe snaked a camera in and stated the heat exchanger looked cracked and called for a 2nd opinion from a senior techHe also stated the Olevels were off and the airflow was badSenior tech came out, checked and red-tagged my furnace! Cold front just blew in and my heat was turned off! Disconnected from the gasThey claimed my furnace was a hazard and I needed a new oneBase price was about $and the same amount to replace the heat exchanger so I might as well get a new one They said as my furnace was backwards and too close to the wall, they had to rip the entire thing out and reinstall it properly(The wall was just a cheap panel to the finished basement)I nodded and listened to them but it didn't sound right I flat out told them I was calling someone elseThey said they legally had to red tag it and turn it off
I called a 2nd company and a technician came out, unscrewed the panel (vs using a drilled hole) and fully inspected it He said nope! The heat exchanger IS FINE The furnace was NOT installed backwards, I just need a better access door in the cheap panel wall next to it(it's cheaper to cut an access door in a panel wall vs ripping out and reversing a furnace installation)He removed the red tag, reconnected the gas and did a thorough inspectionHe gave my furnace a clean bill of healthSaid its working fine, is a newer furnace and there wasn't even any corrosion on the heat exchanger, much less a crack I will not EVER call Uptown again Not when they tried to rip me off by $(which is what they quoted for a heat exchanger element replacement)

Terrible customer service and serious concerns that we were tricked into purchasing a $13,boiler we did not actually needWe scheduled Hero to come out to do a regular boiler tune-upThey reportedly found "unsafe" carbon monoxide levels, despite the fact that our carbon monoxide monitor is located right next to our boilerThey red tagged the furnace and said it couldn't be operated after bringing in a second opinion-- from their own companyI should have known better and requested by own second opinion, but as a new homeowner with a baby in the house and weather dropping below freezing, the fear tactic worked and we purchased the boilerThe installation seemed okay except for the fact that they ran a pipe right in front of the boiler so there is no way the cover can actually be lifted up for when we need to have routine maintenance doneWhen we had the city inspector come and told them about our experience, he informed us that there was no actual code related to how many PPM

Uptown did a fantastic job in replacing my ancient boiler and water heater with a high efficiency system (wall-mounted boiler with side-arm water tank), and in doing everything (mostly new piping) necessary to make it work properly in my year old home in Saint Paul Their quality service started with Josh, the project engineer who came to analyze the situation and provide a thorough proposal, continued with the system install team led by Justin, and concluded with Dan and Sean, who came to resolve some lingering issues with plumbing and radiators Uptown said at the outset that their price included all services (including follvisits) needed to reach a successful outcome, and I can confirm this is true I would recommend their HVAC specialists and plumbers highly

This company seems to use a coupon or special price to facilitate getting into a house and then recommending work that may or may not be needed at a very high priceWe had bad experiences with one of their air conditioning technicians as well as one of their plumbersI recommend you always get a second opinion if you are considering hiring this company to do any work

Their annual maintenance program has been a great service / value for the costs
