The service technician, Bo, was personable and provided excellent service overallHe had the job of swapping out a water heater done in about hoursThe advantages to using a professional for this job is that they pull the permit, have the code knowledge, are prepared for most any issue that comes up, and they deliver the new water heater and remove the old oneThey did not, however, readily have technical information for the water heater they wanted to sell me (such as annual cost, first hour recovery, etc.)The service technician had to call back to his office a couple of times to get a picture of the energy star sticker which didn't contain all of the information I was looking forThey seemed surprised that had I requested information on the product that I was about to purchase although this seems like a very reasonable requestThey did diligently try to get me the information, but I would have felt more comfortable with a company that had the specifications in hand and new what they were selling me

We had great service; Tony came on a Saturday and quickly determined cause of leak and fixed it within minutesSaved our family during heat wave!

We called Uptown at 4pm after discovering our water heater had sprung a massive leak, flooding our basementThe dispatcher had the after hours plumber to our house by 6pmThey had a replacement heater in stock, and we were very impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism and quality of workNot cheap - $+ $for the emergency call - but high quality

Michael was friendly, thorough and promptI felt comfortable with him in my home and he explained the process and bill in a clear manner

So I had work completed recently and the cost was around 10,to replace water heater and install new gas linesI work in the medical field and am really busy honestly I don't know much about market prices including costs of house related items and needed to get the work done quick as the person told me it was urgent with the gas leakWell days later my spouse was able to talk to her father that has worked in the construction business and basically told me they screwed meHe told me the max cost to replace gas pipes with copper should ran at max dollars and I was charged over 4,dollarsAnyways when I did some research with the cost of water heat and the gas pipes and got quotes from other businesses around the area I was shocked to realized I would of saved about 4,dollars in costAlmost a percent mark up from the market rate pricesThat is crazy! So needless to say I am going to stop using them and stop referring any of my friends and coworkers to them and tell everyone I tell everyone to get a second OpinionThis sort of behavior happens in health care as well when providers say something is needed and makes you feel like its life or death and then overcharge for different testing, etcIt's may not be illegal but it's down right unethical

Uptown is the best in the business for those of us with old homesThey get itThey aren't the cheapest but the are the bestThey don't increase the price after the work is done, and they don't upsell you from the moment they walk in the doorThey are prompt, clean and politeThey are professionals

Uptown Plumbing and heating is one of the best companies I have ever worked with They are first rate in ever thing that they do in my opinion If things aren't correct they will do everything in their power to make it correct
