I scheduled a "precision tune-up" for my gas furnace for 11/8/for the fee of $ The technician arrived, made a visual observation and took some readings with a digital voltmeter He proceeded to tell me that the blower motor bearings were leaking oil as well as the exhaust fan bearings, which signaled that they were beginning to fail He checked the blower motor starter, and told me that it was "out of spec" He quoted me a price in writing of $to replace all three and added at the bottom of the sheet "Maybe it's time to update to a new more efficient system."
