Michael S from Uptown came out to my home to install a water heater, doing exceptional work and making a positive impression of the company He removed his outdoor shoes every time entering, used covers on the dolly to keep my carpet clean, vacuumed and hand mopped the floor area after removing the old unit In addition to his friendliness and courtesy, he took extra time to go out of his way to address a few additional items I appreciated his explanations of what he was repairing and what to watch for in the future, to help me be a more knowledgable customer

Michael F just installed a new water heater and fixed a toilet in my almost 80-year-old homeUptown has expertise in older, urban homes and Michael was an expert at everything he didI am very pleased with the work, the education that he provided, and his work styleI now have a gas water heater in the furnace room as opposed to an electric one in the laundry room - something that the company that installed the electric one years ago said couldn't be doneI'm loving the new configuration and am looking forward to different utility bills

I called the company twice and e-mailed them 2-times to request an itemized receipt that would include
the parts, labor, and break-down of their bill I never received it
I received a lump sum figure every time
I was supposed to get the $coupon off of the bill and that doesn't show on my e-mail bill

The service technician, Bo, was personable and provided excellent service overallHe had the job of swapping out a water heater done in about hoursThe advantages to using a professional for this job is that they pull the permit, have the code knowledge, are prepared for most any issue that comes up, and they deliver the new water heater and remove the old oneThey did not, however, readily have technical information for the water heater they wanted to sell me (such as annual cost, first hour recovery, etc.)The service technician had to call back to his office a couple of times to get a picture of the energy star sticker which didn't contain all of the information I was looking forThey seemed surprised that had I requested information on the product that I was about to purchase although this seems like a very reasonable requestThey did diligently try to get me the information, but I would have felt more comfortable with a company that had the specifications in hand and new what they were selling me

My initial contact with Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling was professional and friendly Joseph Vthe technician who came to service my A/C unit was prompt, courteous,explained what he would be reviewing and clearly explained the outcome I couldn't be happier with Joseph and the team at Uptown

Total SCAMOne of the worst companies I've dealt with - a bunch of con artistsCalled them to clear a drain - the "tech" spends over an hour fumbling and banging around and eventually tells me he can't clear it and I need to replace a bunch of my drain pipes (read: thousands of dollars of work and a bunch of torn up walls.) Before going forward I called another company (only specializing in sewers/drains) for a second opinion and attempt - they got it cleared up in minutes for half of the price of Hero
I gave them a chance to make things rightA "service manager" called me, apologized, offered a partial refundTwo weeks go by - nothing arrivesI spend two days trying to get a hold of them, eventually another person calls back to apologize and says the refund is on the way ASAPA week and half later - nothingI'd rather they just be upfront and tell me I got screwed so I don't waste my time

All I can say is AWESOMEI had requested a new toilet to be installed and I wanted something that would work better than the one I hadKasie, the customer service rep took my call and was greatShe told me about the Happy Home club and was able to wave trip charges, get my furnace and AC tuned up and a nice price on the new toiletShe relayed all the wants I had told her so when the Technician Emanuel came to install, he had several options ready for meHe even showed me something that was just as good as what I asked for that was LESS expensiveTalk about building customer loyalty and trust
Emanuel was extremely professional, he was on time to the minute and I even got a text when he was on his way so I could be ready for himLove itI've done a few plumbing jobs myself in the past, but Emanuel made me really understand why you hire a professionalHe replaced a bad valve, the feed line and got the new toilet in under hours, all while keeping me informed of the process and even letting my daughter watch from time to timeI swear my bathroom is cleaner than when it started too (not counting the toilet)
In total, Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling is now my go to plumber and HVAC placeI'm so happy

I contacted Uptown Plumbing to clean our main sewer lineWhen I called, I let them know that they would have to go a least feet to reach the main sewer in the streetThey said that they couldThey could not give me an estimate until they came to the house and assessed the situation Upon arriving to my home, the plummer said it would cost $to clean it out to feetincluded in the cost was the use of a camera to scope the drainI mentioned to him that feet might not be enough He said that going out further would be $to $plus labor for each additional feetHe told me he did not have the extra length to go further than feet, and if he needed, he could call and have someone bring an extension I was not sure about agreeing to thisHe mentioned that it is rare that he would need to go more that the feetHe said most drains connect to the main drain at about feetHe also said that he found a coupon online and would save me $Being it was a

Scheduled an appointment on occasions and plumber never showedTime was monopolized on different days for a total of hoursMay be a great business but making an appearance would support that theory

My argument with Uptown Heating and Cooling is with the scare tactics they use, mis-information they circulate and dis-service they do to customersTheir service contractors put folks against a rock and a hard spot and will force them to shut off working equipment and "red tag them" to frighten them into purchasing new furnaces

Jason did a nice job in follow up of a hot water heater that got fixed and then stopped workingInstructed me on some maintenance issuesUptown isn't inexpensive, but they do nice work

I hired this company to install a tankless water heaterPerson who did the install is a master plumber who has installed "dozens" of tankless water heaters across various brandsPlumber installed tankless water heater as per the manual, but did not read the informational pamphlet that was included in the box that specifically stated air needed to be allowed into drain tube to allow for proper drainagePlumber ran a drain tube straight from condensation tank without allowing for airThis caused condensation tank to backup and overflow 1-days after install resulting in electrical components inside the water heater to be exposed to waterI have tried working with the merchant and they will not refund any portion of the laborI have supporting documentation from the manufacturer of the water heater as well to support these claimsA master plumber with this level of experience should know how to solve these issues in the field

I had a great experience with Uptown Plumbing Mike was the plumber and he did an excellent job Very professional and excellent work I really appreciated receiving a picture of Mike on my cell phone prior to his arrival Very nice to know what the service person looks like prior to arriving at your door - a great safety feature
