Uptown installed a new boiler for me recently and Joshua H worked with me to go over the paperwork after the technicians finished the install Joshua was very professional and knowledgable He went over everything with me to complete the process

Excellent service was provided by plumber Sean West and heating service technician Ryan Rudolph Uptown Plumbing-Heating-Cooling is a business to be recommended to other home owners in the area

We had a maintenance plan with Uptown and they came out to inspect our furnaceThey told us we had a leaky valve and proposed fixes ranging from $(they called it a band-aid) to complete fuel distribution renovation $2,We had CenterPoint come out for another opinion and they said there was no leak and no interventions were needed

I had Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling come out to our house on 3/to repair a pipe on the outside of the house where the sump pump empties into a drainage tile to move water away from the house The repair was a fairly simple fix to attach a couple of new plastic parts to the existing pipe and attach to our drain tile system This was a fairly simple repair that I probably should have taken care of myself, but was out of town and it was fairly urgent to get fixed
Note that my complaint does not have to do with the work completed, but with the exorbitant price they charged for the work The technician was at the house for a total of hour and minutes, which included a minute run to get partsHe quoted a price for the work of $and unfortunately my wife agreed to the workI was appalled at the cost of the repair, based on the fact that it was about $of parts and minutes of labor to repair itIf you even take a very high end plumber's rate of $150/hour and round it up to hours, this work still should have cost only half ($320) of what they charged us
I called the company to discuss and was told repeatedly that they are a premium services company who is not for everyone They were not willing to work with me at all on the price because we had agreed to the fixed bid They offered a $coupon towards future work, which I declined as I will never use their services again I learned a lesson the hard way here about not agreeing to work until you have challenged and questioned exactly what they are going to do
My point in writing this is to hopefully prevent someone else from falling into their predatory pricing tactics in the future Buyer beware on the cost involved with working with Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling

Great company to work with, the communications was above and beyondThe crew was courteous and very respectful of our property

Very satisfied with the AC system installed All workers were skilled, professional and worked well together Job completed on time in one day Finishing carpenter returned on later date to complete finishing touches, even suggesting improvements he could make

I called Friday, Septfor service to repair a leaking shut off valve to the washing machineIt is shut off, but is still leaking and water was all over the floor Their website indicates they provide same-day service, but they couldn't get anyone out until Monday, Septfrom - So our water has been shut off at the main for days They called at 9:on Monday and said they can't get anyone out until Tuesday, Sept.25, because they had water heater installations that were scheduled over the weekend Even though my urgent service was requested prior to these, my request was bumped I do NOT recommend them and will not use them

I was very pleased with the service Bob DprovidedHe was prompt, kept me apprised of what to expect and very responsive when a problem arose after he left because of air in the system

Bob came to my home to install a new thermostat and fine tune my new furnace and air conditionerI found Bob to be knowledgeable and very helpfulBob addressed all my concerns and answered all my questionsThe work Bob did was professional and neatAt the end of the job Bob cleaned up after himselfI am well satisfied

I cancelled my service with Hero in October 2018, but they continued to bill me in November When I called I was informed that there was nothing they could do about it I called at a different time and was told the $charge would be backed off of my credit card account This was November and the charge has not been removed from my account I am going to be forced to cancel my credit card, file a fraud complaint with my bank and have all the automatic payments currently directed to my card changed

Uptown installed a high-efficiency boiler in our home in Recently, I noticed water leaking from the condenser unitDan L from Uptown visited my home early Monday morning, removing his shoes immediately after entering; I appreciated thatDan confirmed my suspicion that the condenser pump had gone outHe said such pumps typically have a to 7-year lifeDan gave me a quote and soon thereafter began replacing the condenser unitAs he worked, Dan shared helpful suggestions for optimizing the efficiency of my boiler
As he finished up, he asked me if he could help me with "anything else." After confirming with Dan that such help extended beyond just plumbing/heating/cooling work, I asked Dan if he could help me remove a heavy 32” tube TV from an upstairs bedroonDan readily agreed to help, thus providing what I call “Signature Service” to a valued customerThank you, Dan!

My argument with Uptown Heating and Cooling is with the scare tactics they use, mis-information they circulate and dis-service they do to customersTheir service contractors put folks against a rock and a hard spot and will force them to shut off working equipment and "red tag them" to frighten them into purchasing new furnaces
