Carolina Carports, Inc. Reviews (303)

I ordered a carport on 9/21/16 and was told delivery would be 4 to 6 weeks. After 6 weeks and no one contacting me, I contacted the sales person, who sold me the carport. I was told to contact CCI. After several cancellations of delivery times, I still do not have my carport. On one occasion after I called CCI, I was told that the crew would be there between 2 and 2:30. They didn't show so I called again and I was told 4:30. This morning I called and was told the weather was bad which it was not. When reading the complaints, I noticed the times given of 2, 2:30 and 4:30 of when the crew would be there and bad weather are standard lies for them. Will not recommend them.

Awesome job speedy install! Will use again

I purchased a Carolina carport from a private individual in April of 2015 and he suggested to hire CCI to move the carport. CCI took my deposit and informed me it would be about 2-8 weeks. On the first weekend of August 2015, CCI set up a date to install and they backed out. A few weeks later they called and schedule a date to install and they never showed up. They scheduled a new install date a week later and failed to show. I even called to confirm that date and was advised we were good to go. They scheduled for the day after but the crew leader called and advised me he couldn't do the move because of inclement weather. I decided I had wasted enough time with CCI and hired a different company that moved it within a week.

This company is a joke!! I ordered a carport in july .it took 2 months to get it installed..all I got was excuses after excuses..I ordered extra pieces to be installed .ordered in sept..I'm still waiting..I call the company repeatedly and all I get is excuses..will never buy anthing from this company again and I'm not recommending them to anyone either..customer service is nonexsistent with this co..stay away from them!!

With such poor ratings by the Revdex.com and an "ALERT" warning, I was really worried about ordering my carport from Carolina Carport, Inc. I researched other major carport dealers and found that most had the same rating and "ALERT" as Carolina Carports. With this info, I was left the choice of taking a chance with Carolina Carport or not purchasing a carport. The latter was not an option. I purchased my 18X36X11 carport on Feb. 29 and was installed on March 11. WOW! That was quick. The two installers who installed the carport, Ulises & Jose, were very professional, hard working, and informative. They asked me how I wanted certain things done and gave me tips for better ground support. I would recommend them every day. The quality of the frame and siding was top notch along with the install.

I should have read the other reviews before I ordered from this company. The service is the worst I have ever come across. I ordered my building and was told 6 -8 weeks. No problem. They call me with in 3 weeks saying they will deliver on a Tuesday. I wait all day; I call at 4:00 p.m. and the scheduler tells me they are on their way, I am the next stop. At 6:30 p.m. still waiting, no call, nothing. I call Wednesday morning; they say their people couldn't get it done before dark and were supposed to call me and tell me they couldn't make it! After being told they were on their way and I waited another 2 1/2 hours, they did agree to give me $75 off as they hadn't called me. So they re-schedule for a week from Thursday! No time given just wait all day again. So I wait and I hear around middle of the day they are backed up and will come Friday! On Friday, they cancel because the weather is bad. They re-schedule for Monday! This is the 4th time I have been re-scheduled and I have had to re-schedule my day so I can be there to accept product installation. I wait all day on Monday; at 3:30 p.m. I am again calling to find out where they are. I am the next stop they will call when on their way. AT 4:00 p.m., I get the call, they will be there in 30 minutes. At 5:00 they call and are lost! They get here at 5:15. It gets dark at 5:30, remember they canceled the first time because they couldn't put it up in the dark. Guess what? No problem putting it up in the dark!!!! After saying it would take 1 1/2 hours to put up; it takes 2 1/2 hours. So at 8:00 p.m., they finish. I go to pay and remember they said they would take $75 off; it wasn't off the invoice. So the installer calls because he heard then woman say before he left that $75 was supposed to come off bill. The woman on the other end (I have her name) allows the $75 to be taken off but she says to the installer that they should charge me double because I made a stink!!!!! Now this is after I have waited again all day for an install. Guess what *-----, I have another job and things to do as well!!!!! Never again!!!!

I placed an order for a carport and received a approx. date of delivery. Then they called and said that due to them not being able to get a hold of me( I was in the hospital for 10 days in ICU)
to verify the order that they had to postpone the shipping for a month. I was next given a delivery date of mid October. When I asked them if they needed to go over the order with me they said, no we have the info right here. So why was it postponed a month?
Next they called and set the delivery date of October 28th. Then another call postponing it until October 31, then another call setting things back until Nov. 1st. Each time I had to cancel doctor's appointments or other commitments. This is totally bad business policy. I should have been more careful and checked the company out better. I thought I was dealing with a local company (their agent in Labelle Florida and they would stay on top of the order.) I am sorry now I did business with them at all. Since you the Revdex.com have not been able to do anything about this company's 124 complaints I don't guess there is any sense in going any further with this complaint. So just add another dissatisfied customer to your growing list.

Carolina Carports INC. Lit's and makes promises they don't keep. This is not the dealer this is the company at their 1-800 number. They should be forced to shut down .. I know I will never buy from them again. Very sorry company.. Sorry company usually run by sorry people from top to bottom pack of liars......

On 4-22-16, I thought I bought a carport from CCI. I was told 4-5 wks for delivery. When this did not happen, I called the dealer I purchased it thru. This was during the 6th wk. I found I had to call CCI, as the dealer had nothing else to do with it. The dealer also denied telling me 4-5 wks. CCI told me it was 4-6 wks but due to rain, they were behind. I was going away for a vacation and could be there when they told they would come, sometime in June. I got a call from them while on vacation saying they would be in Alabama on 7-12 and would call me in the morning and tell me what time. It's 1PM now and I called them. They said 4:30PM. Not sure they're even coming then. Still not carport after 2 1/2 mos.

My experience and recommendations to make your experience a succesful one.
I went through MANY dealers and ultimately found [redacted] barns (http://www.[redacted].com/) and spoke to Lacey. She worked me, back and forth, through a lot of changes to end up with the order we placed. I would give Lacey a 10 out of 10 for a review.
She ensured that Carolina Carports (CCI) received my order and kept me in the loop. I received a very prompt call from CCI in the days that followed confirming receipt and reviewed my order. Both Lacey and the representative from CCI set my expectation of eight weeks turnaround. I needed some time to tear down a structure, expand and level the area, etc. I did this with the knowledge of eight weeks to delivery and had it done long before.
At almost exactly eight weeks I received a call from CCI stating I was to expect delivery the following week (Friday and finish work on Saturday due to structure size). We reviewed the order again and I actually expanded it to include J-Channel everywhere it was applicable and highly recommend that now that I've seen the end result.
I took a half day on that Friday and at 1 PM [redacted] installers from Pennsylvania arrived. I'm assuming J stands for Jose as he was clearly the supervisor as the other two gentlemen did not speak english very well, nor did Jose but much moreso then the other two. They got to work after Jose and I confirmed the order and placement, etc. I offered, and provided a cooler of Lemonade / cups to them as it was a hot day and they were working extremely hard and efficiently. I also provided them dinner (burgers and dogs) so they could keep working later.
One item I'd state is they had no concept of time as when they stated 40 minutes left it meant 4 hours and an overnight stay in a local hotel. They departed around sunset stating a 7 AM arrival time. I made sure the greeting crew (dogs) were put away prior to 7; however, they arrived at 8:30 AM on Saturday stating their hotel beds were too comfortable to get out. I believe if you work hard, and they did the day prior, to afford one to sleep in a bit so no big deal.
They worked for another 3 hours and the structure was complete. I was wondering to what extent they would clean up after themselves and was pleased they picked up EVERYTHING. While they were packing up I walked around the area and looked for any screws on the ground and they noticed me doing that. They all came over and we did it collectively for about 5 to 10 minutes until we covered the entire area twice over.
As one of the workers asked about our chickens and whether we sold eggs I provided him a half dozen as a gift as well as a $20 tip to each of them. I'm sure they do NOT get paid well and they did such a good job that I felt the tip was well worth it. I could not find opinions on what to tip CCI installers so went with $20 each ($60 total).
My opinion:
If you go into this and work with someone like Lacey @ [redacted] barns you'll have a good experience initially.
If, and this is a BIG IF, you understand to not hold your breath and are willing to wait for 8 weeks then you won't be disappointed, far from it.
I would STRONGLY recommend Lacey, [redacted] Installers from PA, and CCI with the above recommendations to going into it with the timeframe understood. I also would NOT recommend starting the process going into the Fall / Winter but rather start the process in the Spring / Summer as I did.
My two cents as the experience could NOT have been better with my approach. Some coworkers of mine are going to be getting their own structures but due to time of year going to take my advice and wait until Spring.

I ordered my Carolina Carport from [redacted] Factory Outlet. Both the dealer and manufacturer were excellent in their communication and helpfulness. The installers did an excellent job. I could rave about their expertise all day. They were that good ! I am pleased with all aspects of the transaction. Very satisfied customer.

Worst experience ever! Ordered a carport for my home in mid August 2016, Was told it would be 5-8 weeks. Did not receive a call until November 28th confirming a date to deliver and install the building on December 1st. I get a call November 29th stating that the crew is having auto trouble and will be there on the 2nd. I got a phone call everyday rescheduling with a different excuse. Meanwhile a neighbor of mine ordered a building the same day I did and his was installed 12/5. So... on 12/6 I got a call to schedule for 12/7 then rescheduled for 12/8. 12/8 I did not receive a call from them so I waiting from 12pm to 6pm for them to show and even called to get an update and they said that they would call the crew to see their location and they did not call me back or show up at all. 12/9 I call Carolina carports and they informed me that the crew had experienced some rain so they packed up and took my building back to the plant in GA. I live in South Florida. I Have still not received this building I have been waiting for months. This is not a way to run a business and have no idea how they are still in business. It seems that the problem lies with their crews installing the buildings. The office personnel are pleasant and understanding. I hope this is resolved soon.

I bought a carport from CCI thru a local dealer here in Salisbury NC in May 2015.I see where a lot of folks had trouble but that wasn't my case.I knew what the costs were up front, they called and gave me a delivery-set up time and they kept that time. The crew that showed up were very good and efficient, they had my carport up,level and were done within a hour.

Im in the same boat as everyone else. I ordered a carport Nov. 7 2015. I was told it would take 4-6 wks. for Maryland. After 6 wks. was told it would be after Christmas. Today Jan. 4, 2016 was told it could be the end of Jan. or into Feb.They can keep that carport.

I placed an order in August 2015 and payed a deposit. Furthermore, I was told to expect delivery within four to six weeks. Today is January 10, 2016- still no building. I have made repeated telephone calls to the company and can't seem to get an answer as to when or even if I will ever get a building delivered. Now I am troubled by the prospect of not getting a refund, even after contacting the North Carolina Attorney General's office. Buyer be very aware!

I ordered a small carport on Oct 19, 2015, Today is Feb 23, 2016. At the time of the purchase, the dealer called and was told 8-10 weeks. I have called Carolina Carports 3 times and have been told that they are "working on October" orders soon. I live in southwest Missouri and our total snowfall for this winter has been less than 4 inches so they can't use the weather as an excuse. The contract I signed states no deposit refund so I guess I am stuck waiting.......

Do not use this Carport Company! There are others out there. I bought a garage in 2011 with the understanding and promise that they would move and expand it later. Now, they say that they have changed their policy and don't move garages any longer!!! They broke a promise and lied to me and now I am stuck with a $2100 garage!!! Plus, just like other reviews, it took forever to get them out to set it up. They showed up with the wrong garage the first time and had to come back again.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I do want to clarify that I never stated doing anything the contractor. Yes, I was frustrated and apologized to the customer service rep & supervisor for venting to them. It is very frustrating that the gentleman that took my order and deposit told me 4-6 weeks delivery time, 6 at the max, then to be put off, rescheduled and felt I was being lied to. I really wish that I had checked Revdex.com reviews on Carolina Carports before ordering, the reviews of delayed time and vehicle issues is my compliant along with several others.

WE ORDERED A CARPORT BACK ON SEPT 24, 2015 WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE DELIVERED 2 TO 8 WEEKS. BY NOVEMBER 2015 I HAD CALLED AT LEAST TWICE EVERY TIME I CALLED THEY SAID DUE TO WEATHER OR THAT WE WERE ON THE LIST AND WOULD GET A CALL THE FOLLOWING WEEK. WE NEVER GOT A CALL I CALLED AGAIN IN JAN 2015 STILL NO CARPORT BUT TOLD THEY WERE GOING TO CALL US NEXT WEEK EVERY TIME I MADE SURE THEY HAD THE CORRECT PHONE NUMBERS I CALL AGAIN THE END OF MARCH 2015 THEY PROCEED TO TELL ME THEY TRIED TO CALL US IN FEB NEITHER I NOR MY HUSBAND GOT A CALL FROM THEM AND AGAIN I MADE SURE THEY HAD THE RIGHT PHONE NUMBER AND THEN THE MIDDLE OF APRIL WE HAD TO PUT IT ON HOLD AND THEN A WEEK LATER I CALLED AND TOLD THEM TO BRING IT..MAY 10 2015 STILL NO CARPORT OR CALL I GO TO THE LOCAL DEALER HERE FOR THEM AND REQUEST MY MONEY BACK AND SO HE TOLD ME TO COME BACK THE NEXT MORNING TO GET MY CHECK IN THE MEANTIME I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE COMPANY TOLD HIM BECAUSE THE NEXT DAY THE MAN WAS RUDE AND SAID NOW THAT HE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THAT THEY HAD CALLED US SEVERAL TIMES TO DELIVER WHICH WAS A BALD FACE LIE..AND THAT WE HAD PUT IT ON HOLD SEVERAL TIMES ANOTHER LIE. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY CAUSE YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR CARPORT WISH I WOULD HAVE LOOKED IT UP ON Revdex.com BEFORE I ORDERED IT....

We are in receipt of the complaint being filed by Mr. [redacted] and have researched the complaint in order to respond.
Mr. [redacted] was originally scheduled for 9/13/2016. The contractor contacted CCI regarding a family emergency and was unable to complete entire load. This is not a...

favorable situation for the contractor as they only get paid if they install. We have contacted the customer regarding delivery for 9/17/2016 and applied a discount for their inconvenience.
We hope this is sufficient to close this matter with regards to CCI.

Sincerely,

Heather S[redacted]
