I was under the impression when I signed up I got the Diamond Package. So I took my truck to the dealer for repairs. And CarShield tried to have the dealers cut back the labor time and cost. And wanted to put after market parts on my truck. The dealer refuses to rush on the work needed done. And I ended up paying 500 out of pockets. So now I’m financing the remaining balance with the dealership. I didn’t want my credit ran nor owing on no loans. So I will never recommend nobody for this matter.
Your claims administrator uses parts and labor guides to gauge what each repair should cost. These guides provide the reasonable amount of time each repair should take along with the cost for parts. If your repair facility is charging quite a bit more than the guides recommend for parts, your administrator will offer to ship in a part for your shop to use. Your repair claim was authorized for water pump and serpentine belt tensioner to be replaced.
A good warranty should cover anything under the hood of a car. This is something the CarShield sales phone rep sold me on along with anything computer or electrical. Maybe they should have a list of things they don’t cover and they should also tell us the things they do cover needs to be torn apart to see if they really will cover it!!! My Throttle body went out and that’s not covered through CarShield even though it’s part of the engine so I paid for it myself. As I was reading reviews on CarShield if something major happens with something like the transmission they make the mechanic rip it apart to see what the problem is. Well CarShield might or might not pay for it. My guess is you’ll probably going to be stuck paying the bill because I’m sure CarShield will find a way to wiggle out of paying for it!!! Scam Scam Scam Beware !!!! I Also heard through the grapevine that they only pay if they pay up to the value of what your cars worth so if your car is only worth 2000.00 blue book and they pay on something like a transmission they will only pay up to that amount and you’ll have to pay the rest !!! :( WASTE OF MONEY STAY AWAY FROM CARSHIELD!!!
Your vehicle qualified for a monthly powertrain gold service contract. Covered components are addressed in the initial sales call and your contract that was mailed and emailed to you also details all covered components. You have a 30 day "free look" period to read over all covered components and receive a full refund if there is anything you don't like about the contract terms. We do not show that a repair claim was submitted to your service contract administrator. Your contract has been cancelled as you requested.
Worth noting, our customers have had over 8 million dollars in repair claims paid in the last 3 months, alone.
I know that you require things like the transmission to be torn apart to see why it stopped working and if its a part of the transmission that's not listed the client is stuck paying for a new one anyway. I also heard you only pay up to what the vehicles worth and nothing beyond that so if the cars only worth 2000.00 the client pays the rest of the repair bill. I think your call center needs to explain all of these thing when selling a policy!!!! Oh I didn't get to make a claim because the person I talked to on the phone said the throttle body wasn't covered even though it's part of the engine which I need to drive my car!!! What exactly was I paying for??? Think you should send me a full refund !!! You won't because your nothing but a bunch of *** !!!!
Message:
This is a con and this is coming from a hard worker that works hard for my money. Make long story short, my engine and trans went out and I was denied my claim for the trans and they basically denied the claim for the engine too. They expect me to pay $2000 for a diagnosis just to see the cause of failure which I don’t understand. Some parts on the engine is covered on the contract. So I called them to ask them can they pay for the parts that is covered on the engine and the parts that are not covered I will pay for out my own pocket. CarShield continued to say we first need the diagnosis from the shop which again is $2000. So I told them what is the point of paying for a diagnosis if the engine is going to get replaced anyway. CarShield basically said they cannot move on without a diagnosis. From there I went on to cancel my policy after 31 days of having it and paying 2 payments of $101 each equal to a total of $202 just having the coverage for 31days. They told me I cannot get a refund because after 30days there is no refund, even though they denied of everything and have not gotten any repairs done to my car. I would highly recommend everyone do not waste your money like I did. Excuse my language, but they are *** rip offs and just want your money.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We have contacted your service contract administrator on your behalf to check on the repair claim you have referenced.
Your claims administrator, per your service contract terms, requested a diagnosis from your repair facility for the cause of failure to engine. Your claim has not been denied, but is pending diagnosis to find the cause of failure.
As you have requested, your service contract has been cancelled and you will be refunded the 2 payments you have made.

I thought it was well worth it what I'm paying for it and it's really helped me out an awful lot. I never regretted buying it.
Thank you, ***, for your comment! We are happy we were able to assist you. Give us a call any time you need us.
I called fir a quite. The representative, Madelyn, was EXTREMELY rude!! She would not let me speak and kept talking over me. When I trued to tell her the $159.99 per month was too high, she said "well, what are you going to do when your car breaks diwn?" She would NOT listen to me and was not interested in trying to find a price that I could afford. I DO NOT LIKE RUDE, HIGH PRESSURE SALES!!! Ihung up and will never call them again!!
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We train our representatives to be polite and informative. We apologize if our representative was anything less. We will be happy to review the call.
I would not recommend CAR SHIELD to anyone. CAR SHIELD did not honor my contract and took my money and did not surrender my car service on two (occasions) The first time did not cover my steering gear pinion and rack which was written in black and white in my contract and the second time would not cover both of front stabilizer bar links and that was the final straw which occurred on the first week of January. I was told by my Auto Service Representative that the Customer Service Representative was hard to work with at CAR SHIELD and that CAR SHIELD only offered to repair one of the links and I would have to pay for the other and that it would take up to two (2) hours for them to receive the parts because CAR SHIELD would have to order parts at a cheaper price. Thay was the final argument with CAR SHIELD and very frustrating dealing with them trying to get them to honor my contract. Right then and there getting my car service I callec and cancelled my contract and commanded my money back for no SERVICE. All CAR SHIELD did was take my money for nothing and they wouldn't even refund my $79.00. a month they had just taken out for the month of JANUARY, however, I see on some of the REVIEWS they were refunded $79.00 back on their accounts and I was not. I was told by CAR SHIELD REPRESENTATIVE that they don't do REFUNDS which was another LIE. I want my last payment of $79.00. which was taken out of my ACCOUNT for this montb posted back to my ACCOUNT. I was applauded to read REVIEWS were some CUSTOMERS received the same quote I receivec for $79.00 a month. CAR SHIELD starts up with a High monthly rate when I told them I was RETIRED and didn't drive my car that much they dropped it down saying that was the BEST RATE they could do so I thought I was getting a great deal. I would not recommend CAR SHIELD TO ANYONE. CAR SHIELD DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR THE CONDTION OF YOUR CAR ALL CAR SHIELD CARE ABOUT IS TAKING YOUR MONEY. RUN OR TURN YOUR EYES AND EARS WHEN YOU SEE THAT FAKE COMMERCIAL ON TELEVISION AND THOSE FAKE MAIL INS DON'T EVEN OPEN TEAR THEM UP AND THROW THEM IN THE TRASH. I SHOULD HAVE I WOULD HAVE HAD THE MONEY THEY STOLED AND SCAMMED FROM ME TI GET MY OWN SERVICE TO MY CAR. "Instead of giving that $79.00 or whatever you paying CAR SHIELD monthly open a SAVINGS ACCOUNT just for CAR REPAIRS and get that money from your account and at least you won't be. disappointed like I was when they won't honor your contract and deny your claims like they did me and so many others won't post or say anything about it. CAR SHIELD YOUR BUSINESS ARE SO INCONSIDERATE OF OTHERS LIKE SO MANY OTHERS ARE IN FOR THE MONEY. "MONEY IS NOT THE ANSWER FOR ALL THINGS AND MONEY WILM NOT SAVE YOUR SOULS AND YOU MARINATE ON THAT. I KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO SAY I AM NOT A MEMBER ANYMORE AND I WON'T BE REIMBURSED FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY THAT'S O. YOU GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL ON THAT GREAT DAY OF JUDGEMENT YOU WILL HAVE TO ANSWE TO GOD FOR ALL THE WRONG YOU HAVE DONE!!!!
You did have a repair claim submitted for a power steering return line. As stated in your service contract terms, hoses and lines are not listed as covered components. The second repair claim you have referenced was authorized in part for the covered component, stab pin. This repair claim is still showing as pending. Please contact your service contract administrator, ***, if you have any further questions regarding this pending claim.
This is my first experience with them. I brought it into the dealership and they figured out what the problem was. They called you guys. Then I received a phone call saying that you had approved the expense and they took care of it.
Thank you for letting us know how smoothly your repair claim experience went. We look forward to helping you again with future repairs.
This place is a scam! It is impossible to get off their phone or mail lists!
It is actually very easy to be removed from our mailing list or call list. If you have received a mail piece sent on our behalf, all you need to do is provide the ID number that appears on the mailer and we will be happy to remove you from our mailing list. We do not call consumers unless they have requested information online or have an existing service contract through our company that is nearing expiration. If you can provide that ID number and a phone number to ***, we will be happy to remove you from our list.
In response to their response.
No that is simply not true. I have repeatedly told the your call center representatives to take me off the list andI have repeatedly had the line go dead. I have had them go silent. I just recently have gotten off the call list. I found the one person literally out of 100 people who I told to take me off the list and my car does not even qualify. But beware of this organization.
Carshield told me over the phone at the time of purchase they offered only one warranty for my car, it covered everything. I specifically ask did it cover the suspension the agent said yes. I replied I will like them to email me everything in writing before making a payment, they assured me everything was covered. The call was recorded and I made a payment. The company never mailed me details about the warranty and the email I received only stated a payment was made. After the repair shop called them about a suspension issue Carshield told them it wasn't covered. When I called Carshield they stated the repair shop never called and they wasn't approving the repair and would cancel the contract. The contradicted themselves saying the repairshop never called, but refusing to approve the repair. After the agent stated that, he hung up in my face.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
The sales representative you spoke with did email you a copy of your service contract terms, to ***, during the call. Your sales representative also addressed covered components during the call, as well as emailing you the service contract terms with specified covered components listed.
Our representative was able to find you the best coverage for the best price for your specific vehicle's make, model and mileage. Your vehicle has over 100,000 miles.
There are many components of your suspension listed in your contract terms as covered. Air Bag suspension is not listed as covered.
Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested and you have already been refunded in full.

Carsheild refuses to pay for repairs to my car under the terms of my agreement. Car required service due to rats chewing internal wiring, which should be considered an act of nature that is not specifically excluded as such. Under excluded acts of nature other caused are specifically described, including adverse weather conditions. They now state that the contract only covers mechanical breakdown but do not advise as to causation. I requested reimbursement of $720.25 paid minus $100 deductible under the contract terms. I believe they have breached by denying claim and so now I am seeking to void it and have all funds contributed returned. Thanks for all your help.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. However, the first line of your service contract states, "Your valuable MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN PROTECTION is detailed in the enclosed contract booklet.
Under, "Exclusions" your contract does specifically excludes "acts of nature"or BY ANY EXTERNAL CAUSE", such as but not limited to...then goes on to cover some examples. Rodent damage would fall under acts of nature and an external cause.
Unfortunately, rats chewing through your wires is not a mechanical breakdown and is not a covered repair under your service contract terms.
Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested and you will be receiving the prorated refund you are due, per your contract terms.
You might check with your vehicle insurance to see if they would cover such damage, however. Most incidents involving animal damage, including rodents chewing on wires, are covered by comprehensive auto insurance coverage.

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I believe they breached the contract by misrepresenting the terms as far as the cost goes, and they denied service.
Sincerely
Mechanical Breakdown Protection does not covered damage caused by animals. However, as we stated before, your comprehensive auto insurance should cover this damage. Please contact your vehicle insurance provider to check on that.
Contractually, there is nothing we can do to help you repair this damage.
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
They do not list animal damage in the exclusions, but they do include "acts of nature", and I believe that is what this is. Also the premium terms exceed the stated total cost of the contract.
Sincerely
When I called to get a monthly quote, they said, $129. Then I said I wanted to think about it. They then said, $89.
Carshield called me later that week, and said they could lower my payment to $69 per month. I said I wanted to think about it. Another rep got on the phone and was urging me to immediately purchase Carshield. I told him that I didn't appreciate the "Pressure sale." He kept talking and pressuring me, and I hung up on him.
I went on the Revdex.com web site, and they did NOT recommend this company.
I was able to review many reviews from angry customers.
I'm so glad that I checked out this company before purchasing carshield!!!
I tend to believe commercials on TV. NO MORE!
Um I mean it was good that was the first time that we actually had to file a claim. As far as filing a claim everything went smoothly. We were able to get tow service with in like 30 to 40 minutes and then they took it to the shop then they took care of everything as far as I know. I guess there were issues with the part, the part that they wanted to purchase. So between the shop and car shield I guess they came to an agreement on what type of part the needed. I guess they came to a conclusion and they came to an agreement. But we didn't have to do anything. We didn't even know about it until we had to go pick up the car.
We are happy we were able to assist you with your vehicle's repair. Please give us a call any time we can be of help. Thank you for your review.
I’ve been in the automotive field for 37 1/2 years. I have yet to find any aftermarket company that actually do what their warranties claim. Secondly in my area of the country try getting a repair location to release your vehicle until they are paid by either the auto owner or the warranty company. Does this company think Americans are stupid ? Anyone considering purchasing one of these wonder warranties should contact their local Revdex.com first. I love the commercial where there is a lady stating she saved $3500 on her auto air conditioning system ! What does she drive a Space Shuttle ? What *** !
I purchased Carshield in October 2019 for our truck. Nothing was wrong with it. However, in November I did have an issue. Long story short the transmission went out! I was glad that I had added this plan! I placed the claim on Nov 13, 2019. It was a very long process. *** requires a tear down of the transmission to verify the cause of failure. Ok fine. It was the pump in the transmission, which is rare for our particular vehicle. I had discussed with ***, that they would not be able to verify to pressures once the transmission was torn down. An inspector had to come out.... more than once!
In order not to pay any additional for the tranny. I had to choose to go with their replacement. Which was a used tranny. The tranny was sent to my mechanic, with the old filter and fluids in it! The tranny was not even flushed.
My truck was repaired, and ready to drive on January 7, 2020. Almost THREE months later! For 3 months, I was without my vehicle. This issue was due to the tear down, multiple inspections, a used transmission, and every hoop my mechanic needed to jump through to get this repair done.
Then to billing.... *** attempted to bill me for the tear down that their contract requires to verify everything they need to verify. Including that I maintain the vehicle properly. Then they also planned to extend the cost of my mechanic flushing the used transmission, new fluids, and new filter on to me. It is January 16, 2020... and my mechanic has yet to be paid.
My mechanic states he works with warranty's all the time. This was the first time with ***, and will definitely be the last.
We contacted your service contract administrator regarding the claim payment of 1583.89 that was first sent to your repair facility on January 7, 2020. They resent the payment again on January 14, 2020. Looks like there may have been a problem with connecting? Please contact *** directly at *** if you have any addition question regarding the payment of your claim.
I am writing for your help in resolving an issue with Carshield. I signed up for a 5 year vehicle protection contract June 2017. I contacted Carshield in April 2019 to cancel and was persuaded to take 30 days to reconsider. My payment would be postponed until May 2019 and I would receive a follow-up call. On May 7, 2019, I received a call from Carshield and I advised that I still wanted to cancel. I was advised the policy was canceled as of that date - and that I had to send in a cancelation letter to the address provided. No additional payments would be required and once the letter was received, I would receive a refund based on the "refund formula". I drafted the cancelation letter on May 10, 2019 and then sent it to Carshield and waited for my refund. In June 2019, I received a letter from *** - the company that had been handling the auto-payments from my credit card account. The letter advised my policy had been canceled due to "non-payment". I contacted *** and advised that I had called to cancel the policy in May and inquired why the letter said non-payment. I was told that it could be an error and if I canceled with carshield, to disregard the letter - which I did. Over the next few months, I waited for my refund - then my Dad became ill and to be honest, my focus was on his health. Sadly, he passed away on November 5th - and a few weeks later, I contacted Carshield to inquire about the refund. At that time, I spoke to a representative (Steve) who initially advised the policy was canceled for "non-payment" but then after reviewing the account, told me that was an error because he could see that I called on May 7, 2019 and the policy was canceled at that time. Apparently, the letter I sent to Carshield was never received - so told me to send a copy of the letter via e-mail (and fax if necessary) to Carshield. Once the letter was received, they could process the refund. I sent the letter to Carshield after the holidays. I contacted Carshield today, January 15, 2020 and was advised that I would not receive a refund because the policy was canceled due to non-payment when they did not receive the cancelation letter. I was shocked and angry. How can a policy be canceled for non-payment a month after the consumer called to cancel the policy and was advised no payment was due? The policy was set to automatically be paid from my credit card - and I didn't rescind authorization to debit the credit card. Carshield never processed the payment - and then canceled the policy for "non-payment" - even though they stopped the billing. Why would they not protect the consumer and contact them to advise that the cancelation letter was not received? Why would they not process the payment as planned? How can Carshield justify canceling my credit card auto payments without receiving the cancelation letter but not respect and honor the fact that the policy was canceled on May 7, 2019 - and then cancel the policy in June 2019 for non-payment. That seems unethical and dishonest - a sneaky way to defraud a consumer of their refund. I am respectfully asking for your help in resolving this issue - if you feel you can help.
You called our office on May 7, 2019 and asked how to go about cancelling your service contract.
Our representative informed you that we would put your account on hold so no additional payments would be deducted from your Mastercard. The representative let you know that you would need to mail in a signed letter, within 30 days, requesting cancellation. If the letter was not received within 30 days, your service contract cancels for non payment.
You did not send in the letter and your service contract canceled for non payment.
As a gesture of goodwill and in a good faith effort to resolve this matter, we will backdate your cancel date to May 7, 2019 and issue any prorate refund you would have been due at that time.

I called carshield on 1-8-2020 spoke to *** to cancel my contract with them, ben tried everything to get me to stay but I was and am unhappy with there service, he told me he was sorry to see me go, then 0n 1-16-2020 I find out my contract wasn't cancelled and they took money out of my bank account that wasn't authorized by me, I called carshield back and spoke with michelle on 1-16-2020 and again told her I wanted to cancel my account, she tried to get me to stay as well by even going as low as 69 dollars a month, I again told her no and that I wanted my contract cancelled for which it was supposed to be cancelled on Jan 8th by ***, I then asked her about the refund to my bank account for which they didn't have the authorization to take money out and I was told because they paid out so much for the repair to my truck they wouldnt put it back. All I want is the money put back in my account for which they had no authorization to take
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
However, you purchased your service contract on November 16, 2019. You've made two payments of $79.00 each. Your claims administrator has paid a transmission claim for you in the amount of $2919.33 and paid a tow fee of $43.90.
We show no call from you to our office on 1/8/2020. You called our office on 1/16/2020 and requested cancellation. 1/16/20220 is the same day the January payment was schedules and debited from your account. This payment returned, NSF.
No refund is due, as you have had $2963.23 in paid claims and tow fee and only paid in $158.00.

I am rejecting this response because, I have dates, names and times I have called written down, so there information is incorrect, I am also still getting Bill's from them and this is even after the cancellation, they are trying to bill me for 99 dollars for something I dont have
Sincerely
We do not show a call from you on January 8, 2020. We checked with your service contract administrator and they also do not have a called noted from you on January 8th.
However, the fact remains that you had $2919.33 in paid claims and $43.10 in tow fees paid and have only paid in 2 payments of $79.00. No refund is due to you at this time.

Well my experience with car shield when I needed to have a repair per say they have been very good about taking care of the expenses. So with me paying the deductible the only thing I would say was difficult was the communication, between the repair facility and the adjuster. As far as taking care of the issue that has definitely exceeded my expectations.
Sometimes reaching the service technician takes a few tries. However, we appreciate you letting us know that your claim was taken care of and exceeded your expectations. Give us a call any time we can be of assistance.
It's a great tool to use and to have if you have an older car as I do. It's there so far for me. Would definitely recommend it, as I have . Everything was on point.
Thank you for your comments, Mr.. We are so happy we could assist you with your vehicle repairs.
High pressure sales. Priced their Diamond coverage at $129 a month and kept telling him I was just checking prices and he kept dropping the price and wanted my charge card number. He finnaly dropped it to $89 a month and when I said no be hung up on me.
Car shield did the best they could to take care of my automotive needs to my satisfaction.
Thank you for your comment, Ms.. Please give us a call any time we can be of assistance.
