So far it has given me the service I've been looking for.

CarShield Response • Jan 21, 2020

Thank you for letting us know. Please give us a call any time you need our assistance. We are always happy to speak with you!

I call in they say an item is covered but when I get to my mechanic and they call they say it is not coverd.
They said I would get a refund once I sent the letter of cancellation in. They claimed they never received my letter so they can not do anything to help me.

CarShield Response • Jan 21, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have not received your letter of cancellation. However, as a gesture of goodwill, we will issue you the prorated refund you would have been due as of the date your service contract cancelled for non payment. You should be receiving that refund in approximately 10 days.

OMGosh! I just had the most exasperating call with a "sales" representative from this company. Now I know why they require your phone # on the online quote form. Talk about ridiculously high-pressure sale tactics. At the very beginning of the call. I made it very clear that all I wanted was price and coverage information. There were several warning signs triggered during this call, but I will only share the most egregious. He told me he had my same car and all of the issues he experienced. After I mentioned multiple times that that has not been my experience, he continued to pepper the conversation with gloom and doom scare tactics on what could possibly happen. I know what could possible happen; ergo, my initial inquiry. Next alarm: he started asking for my credit card number before he even knew where I lived, the VIN of the car, how long I owned the car, prior issues, etc. He then attempted one of the oldest, albeit lamest, sales tactics ever..."the deal". He starts out with a quote of $210 per month which was then reduced to 190, 180, and finally 176 only after I asked why he had not taken any information on me or my car, which he begrudgingly did. Again, all the time still pressing for my credit card number. He said “Visa, MasterCard, Debit Card, Discovery” no less than six times. I stopped counting after that. When I asked if they would need to inspect or even see the car, he told me there would be a waiting period and mileage requirement before my coverage would kick in. When I told him that I don’t drive the car often enough to meet the mileage requirement, he attempted to compute my monthly drive time and also suggested that I drive more often to meet the criteria. What? The narrative then shifts from “your car can die anytime soon” to “nothing will happen to your car during the waiting period”. Seriously? When I asked to see itemized plan coverage in writing first, he pointed me to the website. Alarm: he did not want me to Google the company to get to the website. He wanted me to enter the URL instead. When I saw the 15-page contract, I told him that I needed to do my due diligence first, read the contract and possibly have another set of eyes look at it, as well, before signing up. That is when the pressure amped up exponentially. His response was for me to read the contract while he held on the phone. When I told him that was not necessary, I got the “I will lose the ‘special’ pricing…It’s only $176…you have 30 days to read the contract…you will get all of your money back…it only takes five minutes to read…if you delay and don’t sign, you won’t be covered when something happens”…and on and on he went. So unnecessary. I fully intended on signing up. I actually owe this sales rep a huge thank you. Had he not behaved so deplorably, I never would have looked them up on the Revdex.com website.

Fine, great. I'm happy with both times I've had to call you all.

My wife paid for this coverage for my son *** Customer ID # : *** she had been making his monthly premium payments for his 2001 VW Gti. We towed the vehicle to the VW Dealer in Spartanburg, SC. They would not repair the vehicle unless my wife paid the repair bill up front because they said they had trouble collecting their money from Car Shield, They wanted us to pay for the entire estimate out of our own pocket before even working on the vehicle. We wound up having to tow the vehicle back home where it still sits in the yard unrepaired even though *** has died. They continue to solicit *** to continue using their product. I do not recommend that anyone have any dealings with this company nor purchase their coverage. It seems to be nothing more than a scam. Sincerly ***
P. S. tried not to even give them a one star rating but the form would not let me so I had to click on at least one star or but I would prefer not to even give them one star.

CarShield Response • Jan 20, 2020

We have located a service contract for *** that cancelled on September 12, 2017 for non payment. We show no active vehicle service contracts at this time. We have removed ***'s information from our mailing list. You should receive no additional mailed advertisements from our company going forward. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

I believe this company is very misleading in the “coverage” they claim to offer on extended warranty for vehicles. I asked multiple times if and what type of service records I would need for my claim and called several times to make sure the part in question would be covered before authorizing a breakdown of my engine. I was told multiple times that it would be covered and that no records of service were needed. After authorizing the dealership to take out my engine, my claim was denied because of the type of service records I had and the fact that they were missing information needed. Had anyone explained this to me when I called before authorization, I would have saved myself the expense because I know my mechanic does not keep computerized records. I called to cancel service and asked for a refund of the last 2 months drafts and was denied the refund. I have no other option but to file this complaint. I warn others to not use this service. They will find any means necessary to deny your claim and leave you with thousands of dollars out of pocket that was supposed to be covered with only a $100 deductible. Completely fraudulant!

CarShield Response • Jan 17, 2020

We have contacted your service contract administrator regarding the repair claim you have referenced. As stated at the time you purchased your service contract, maintenance records may be needed during claims. The records you provided have no VIN number or mileage listed and have no signature. Without the VIN or mileage listed, these are not a verifiable receipts. Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested and you will be refunded the 2 payments made.

I've been paying for the gold warranty since May '19. On Thursday, January 2nd at 7 am I called the 24 hours roadside assistance line several times, it told me to call back when it opened, surprising because I was told that it was 24 hours. Fast forward to Friday, January 10th, I go to and I am told I need to get my axle replaced. Fine, I have a warranty I'm good. Well not so. My mechanic calls the warranty company on Saturday the first person tells him my contract is behind in payments and hangs up. My account is current they deduct the money monthly on the 15th. I called and spoke to someone that says my account is fine but they won't cover the axle because the problem is the boot, you know that part of the axle that will break the axle. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he hung up on me. I called a 3rd time, spoke to a guy that argued with my mechanic and he transferred me to an adjuster, my mechanic with the adjuster and sent him pictures of my car and now we wait. I have cancelled the policy.

We contacted your service contract administrator regarding the repair claim you have referenced. They stated that you had torn CV boots that were leaking grease. Your service contract does not have coverage for leaking seals and gaskets, per your contract terms.

Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested. Your last 3 payments are in the process of being refunded.

I'm so disappointed in the service I received from your Company. I really hope someone go back and review the recordings. The customer service is horrible, but it doesn't end there. We filed a claim with Car Shield on December 12, 2019, because I truck was making noise. The dealership called and told them what was wrong. There was 3 things wrong and immediately over the phone Carshield stated that 2 of the claims they wasn't covering. Then Carshield told them that they needed them to take the engine apart and that they had to get approval from us to do so. Okay that's going to be $2000 that we will not cover, which I already thought that was unfair since Carshield was wanting that to be done. Nevertheless, we approved it. The dealership stated the adjuster came out and took pictures didn't ask any questions. We received a phone call from carshield stating that the claim was denied due to sludge in the engine. The dealership as well as us explains that the truck is diesel, therefore, there is going to be sludge. However, after doing further research I found out that their policy is that they can't deny a claim due to sludge in the state of GA. Its Carshield policy, so they should know, so why did I have to call the.
At this point, I just keep seeing signs of a company trying to rip people off. So, not they are like you are right, but now we need service record showing where there was nothing in the comments telling that you need to have certain work done to prevent what happen from happen ( Basically that was the nice way of saying we want to make sure this wasn't preexisting so we can deny the claim), whatever we proved documentation of previous work done. It showed that it wasn't preexisting and it wasn't anything that we did to cause the issues. Dealership called Carshield and was having a hard time reaching them and when they did they got the run around. The same treatment we received. So, at this point the dealership states that they weren't going to keep calling them. The truck was ready, therefore, they took back the loaner truck, so we didn't have a vehicle and they was charging us for our vehicle sitting there. Dec 28th we finally went to pickup our truck because the dealership stayed that the $2000 we had already paid would just be lost we wouldn't get that back. So, on the 28th we paid 5500 to get our truck back. Spoke to Carshield and they stated oh your claim is inactive because we didn't get the paperwork that you sent in and we haven't heard from you. These people kept contradicting themselves everytime you talk to someone. They didn't care about the position they put us in. They were like oh you paid for the work already your lost we can't do anything for you. So, tell me what we were suppoae to do, Carshield wanted us to have them take it apart. So, they wanted them to put it back together and they take apart again to fix it and we be charged again because you all already stayed that you don't cover that. We do nothing leave the car apart and be out of $2000 plus the fees for it sitting there and the whole time Carshield knew they was planning not to cover it. I called to talk to people and then get transferred everyone, for someone to finally hang up on me and doesn't attempt to call me back. Then I have to call back in and wait on hold and be disrespected, like I did something wrong to them. Finally some with a Manager and he was rude and hung up in my husband and I face.

Your service contract administrator shows an oil pump claim paid in the amount of $2701.05 on September 26, 2019. The payment you have brought to our attention had been previously corrected and credited to your account through the payment processing company servicing your service contract.

I heard of Car Shield and called to get a warranty on my navigator. We all want to feel like all will be alright if there is a problem. After a few months I decided a warranty was not for me. I called to cancel. I was told to just miss a payment and then it would cancel itself out for no payment. That was fine. January payment was drafted out. I called and ended up in a loud voice talking match with the customer service lady. I asked her 5 or more times about why I was charged in January. She kept saying I really didn't cancel in Dec. but extended the payment. I told her what I was told. She did do her job which was to try to get me to keep the plan. Over and over all about how it would feel to have to pay for a repair. After I calmed down and said look, just cancel the plan(for about the 7th time) and refund my payment. She said she could not refund the Jan. payment. I feel if I changed my mind and decide this was not for me, Car Shield should have cancelled the plan when I asked. Also no hollaring from the service person.

CarShield Response • Jan 12, 2020

We do show that you had requested a post date of your December payment to January 9th. Your service contract has been cancelled as you requested and you are in the processing of being refunded your January payment. We do apologize if there was a misunderstanding.

On December 14, 2019 the BMW was towed to the BMW dealership for transmission problem. ON December 16, 2019, Carshield advised transmission was not covered. CarShield representative said the mechatronics and associated parts had failed and that part of transmission wsa not covered. I was never informed that the powertrain warranty did not cover the transmission entirely, only the mechanical parts of the transmission were covered. On December 30, 2019, I contacted CarShield and asked if I would be reimbursed for our monthly payment and was advised no refund.

This is something I could have use a long time ago. I usually hang on to my vehicles. I bought this back in 2014.

CarShield Response • Jan 12, 2020

Thank you for your comments. We are glad we have been able to help you out and we appreciate you as a customer.

Unsoliciated mail. States "immediate Response Requested:. Looks like a bill. Has a customer ID#. States records indicate that I have not contacted them regarding vehicle service contract, and that my "factory warranty has expired" (I do not own a vehicle with a factory warranty!). It also states I will be held responsible for any repairs(sounds threatening to instill fear?) Very sketchy if you ask me. I don't want these mailings, and would like to be removed from their mailing list. I also believe this may be the company has been calling my cell using a variety of phone numbers trying to sell me a car warranty. It feels like harassment.

CarShield Response • Jan 27, 2020

We do apologize for the inconvenience. Please provide us with the ID number that appears on the advertising piece you received and we will be happy to remove your information from our mailing list.

Thank You

It's easy and I've run into others who have carshield and the feel the same way. It's a worthy thing. It's one of the better things for once your warranty isn't there. Very happy with it. For the money it's worth it. I'm surprised carshield doesn't have more members.

I had a question about a letter and I feel that the person who answered it answered it pretty well and proper. Communication is right on the money.

Thank you for your comment. Give us a call anytime you need out assistance.

Make more of an effort that mileage is important!!!! For this minor discrepancy I'm denied a claim. I was covered for one month. (No you didn't cover anything) if it is late no one takes my claim to tow a single mom just stranded. In between a whole month of December I get multiple call letters and emails saying I'm late when my new due date hasn't come?? You go back in fourth with them and the 3rd party ***. I don't feel helped, no effort, no customer service just cold. Why am I being blame for previous damage when this just happened to me. My car was fine...2weeks with no car. I'm looking for help.If you don't want to cover me ok all I want is my $79 to pay for this part that's it.

CarShield Response • Jan 12, 2020

Our representatives do ask for exact mileage at the time of sale. If exact mileage cannot be provided, they ask that you call back within 24 hours to make sure we have your exact mileage. Due to the large mileage discrepancy, your service contract was void and you are in the process of being refunded in full the 79.00 payment made.

I cannot get this company to stop contacting us about their services even though we no longer own an automobile which is what their business is all about. I have recently (11-2-2019) filed a complaint with Revdex.com and Car Shield responded stating they would never contact us again. My mother is 77 years old and these phone calls are really disturbing to her. I have contacted Car Shield myself several times by email, phone and even mail but they still call over and over. PLEASE HELP us. I don't know what else to do.

CarShield Response • Jan 13, 2020

We show no calls to the phone number you have listed. If you can let us know the phone numbers you want us to remove from our list, we would be happy to do that for you. Please either respond to this complaint with the numbers you want removed or email the numbers to ***. We do show we have *** removed from our mailing list

This company asked for a number that we want to be removed. It is ***. I just hope they will stick to it this time. My mother no longer owns an automobile which is what the companies business is all about so there is no need for them to ever make contact again. Please forward this number to them.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as long as they stick to their word you will never hear from me again about this matter.
Thanks for your help.

I had purchased a contract with CarShield, in December. I paid for my contract to continue for January, however CarSheild in their own contract states that they must give a written 90 day notice before cancelling a contract. However CarSheild is trying to say that I gave them misleading information on my vehicle, which I did not. CarShield choose to go by *** for information about my vehicle which that information is not correct. I have done my research and the reason for CarShield choosing to cancel my contract could not be found.

CarShield Response • Jan 14, 2020

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are happy to help you in the resolution of this matter.

You purchased a powertrain vehicle service contract for your 2006 Chrysler Sebring with 189,825 miles, on December 10, 2019. A repair claim was submitted to your service contact administrator on January 7, 2020 when your vehicle was towed in with a seized engine. At that time your contract administrator found that an insurance company reported this vehicle was declared a total loss on June 14, 2018. This makes your vehicle ineligible for coverage.

Your administrator, American Auto Shield (AAS), voided your service contract due to total loss/branded title, and refunded you in full the two payments you had made.

If you have any other questions regarding AAS's determination to void your service contract due to total loss, please contact them directly. They state that they have spoken to you several times, the most recent being on January 9, 2019. Their contact information is listed in your service contract on the first 3 pages.

You have been refunded your initial payment back to your Visa Card. The second payment will be sent by check to the address you have provided. You should receive it in approximately 10 days.

Respectfully,
