I had a terrible experience with this company. I called after seeing the commercial and just wanted to get a quote and a little more info on how exactly it worked. They use a very high pressure sales technique, using guilt and scare tactics about potential future car repairs to force you to pay today and think it over later. I merely called for info and potentially a quote and within minutes I was being pressured to put them on hold, call my wife, and then give them my CC info today. The sales rep refused to let me off the line respectfully and forced me to hang up on them because I don't have all day to argue. I do not doubt that they'd be helpful if you sign up and are in need of expensive repairs, but my interaction today gave the impression that they're only concerned with getting your payment information regardless of whether or not this service is a good idea for your budget and car situation.
Not sure if counterfeit product is the right type of scam description, I recieved this mail stating that my factory warranty has expired. They have given me a customer ID number and all. They tell me to activate my coverage by phone, within a date about 10-14 days from when I recieved my letter. I am to be prepared to give them my current milage and vin number. ...Well I wouldn't even if I could....! Reason Being Is I Don't Own A Car!!! I HAVEN'T OWNED A CAR IN OVER 20 YEARS!! I have read other reviews on this place and wish there was a way to shut them down for good. They are trying to sell a insurance for something that doesn't exist, my car! If I chose to call them I'm sure they would have given me a price for this new coverage, but the letter itself did not state a price for this Platinum/PowerTrain coverage with protection through 2024 and up to or additional 125K miles too.
Bought carshield. Four months later the AC stops working and I have it looked at. It’s the compressor which is a covered part. It’s specifically the seal on the compressor that’s leaking and the whole compressor needs to be replaced. Again, the compressor is covered. It also states clear as day that seals and gaskets are only covered if in connection with a covered part. Also nowhere does it states in the “not covered” section that a leaking seal in the compressor is not covered ( or any leaking seals for that matter). Yet they keep repeating it’s not covered. Can’t give me specifics, can’t say anything as to why it’s not covered or where it states that in the contract, just keep repeating it’s not covered. Looking at other complaints here this is clearly something they do with every customer and the Revdex.com needs to do something about that at this point. It’s breach of contract, plain and simple. Not to mention this falls under scamming. A police report will be filed for theft by deception. Attorney appointment is made. And the news will be notified next.

my car broke down while I was driving. I took my car to an ASE certified mechanic as instructed by Carshield. my car entered the shop 11-13-2017. immediately there was a problem. The mechanic at *** was getting the runaround. I had to go up to the shop and call Carshield myself to get in contact with somebody in claims. The claims department said they couldn't do anything until they had the milage. we gave them the mileage and the said they will call the mechanic back once the claim was opened. On 11-17-2017 the claims department contacted me claiming that *** had not called them with the mileage. I told them that I was on site and I actually was the person that called Carshield and gave them the mileage. After a brief back and forth the mileage was recorded and the claim was supposed to be opened again. On 11-19-2017 *** contacted me to come up to the shop there had seemed to be an issue. Upon going to the shop I called the claims department to find out what the issue was. They claimed the Mechanic was not cooperating and not willing to give them the information that was needed to approve the claim. I then asked them what was the request and they related to me that they wanted to get reading from oil pump before any claim or assessment is made. The mechanic advised them over and over that, you cant get a reading from an oil pump if the car is not running. The claims department insisted that he try to do this numerous times. After about a 30-minute discussion that didn't get anything done. 11-21-2017 The claims department said they will send out an inspector 24 to 48 hours of the call. The mechanic agreed and said he will contact me when the inspector shows up. 11-24-2017 the inspector calls the mechanic and asked him is he ready for the inspection. The mechanic advised that he comes in about 3 hours because the mechanic had to pull the car back in the shop and prep it for inspection. since the inspector did not show up within the 48 hour time frame he was quoted he had to pull my vehicle off the lift, to work on customers cars. 12-1-2017 After a week went by I had to call Carshield and ask what the issue was and why nobody has contacted me nor ***. They Claimed it takes 24 hours to process what the inspector brought back and they will look into it. 12-4-2017 I received a call again from the mechanic and he was furious. He explained to me that they wanted him to remove the entire engine from the vehicle so the inspector can get a better look at the damage to the engine. The mechanic advised me that they are not going to pay him, or possibly reimburse him for the request made by the inspector. I called Carshield once again and asked what is the problem. They kept saying that the mechanic did not give them the reason, the cause, or the damage caused to the engine and the claim cannot be approved until they get that information. I told them the mechanic said that they wanted him to remove the engine from the car before he could make any inspections and they responded no, just the oil pan. I requested an inspector be sent out again and on that same day, I called the mechanic to let him know what was requested of him for the inspection. 12-9-2017 the mechanic called and let me know the inspector came by and I should be hearing something soon. 1 week went by and nothing. on 12-17-2017 I called the claims department again, and once again they told me it will be a week before they get their decision from the inspector. 12-26-2017 I called Carshield and asked them what was going on. I haven't heard from the claims department. They claim that they tried to contact the mechanic and his phone was disconnected and they could not get in touch with him. I asked the operator for the number and she claims she does not have that information, and only the claims department has that information. 12-27-2017 I went up to *** my self. the receptionist advised me that nothing was wrong with their phones and didn't have any previous problems either. I then called Carshield on my personal phone and requested to talk to claims. I advised them that I'm at the mechanic shop and with him, they can request what is needed to move forward. Again but this time I heard with my own ears, that they asked the mechanic to remove the entire engine from the vehicle so that they can obtain the readings from the oil pump and it can be inspected for repair. After the mechanic explained to them that you can not get reading from an oil pump that is not in a running car, the operator got short with the mechanic and said and I quote " well that's what we need and we don't cover engine blocks no way, so you are wasting my time". I then requested a supervisor and was hung up on. I called Carshield back immediately and requested to speak to a supervisor. Once connected I explained my and the mechanic's frustration with dealing with this situation and the operator that he claimed he has no knowledge of. He asked to get some time to look at the claim and will contact me shortly. 12-29-2017 I received a call from a Carshield Supervisor to only get the runaround and that I need to speak to a claims supervisor. I asked him to connect me, he wouldn't, but he gave me the number to contact one. I contacted a supervisor from the claims department and was very taken back by getting treated like I was some kind of child. Saying things like " if you knew how to read, you will see in your contract", "If you read the contract correctly you will see the mistake your making". I advised the lady that in the contract that I was only obligated to pay for the removal of the engine or any further work if my claim was denied. she then said, "maybe I should just deny it, and we can be done here". I requested to speak to another supervisor and requested her name. She did neither and hung up the phone on me. 1-10-2018 I called Carshield and told them I want to make an official complaint. After a session of questions was advised that they do not have any authority in the claims department and I have to deal with them. At the point, I told Carshield that I had a problem with paying the monthly fees if they are not going to fix my car. Carshield than deferred the payment to 1-12-2018. 1-14-2018 I called the claims department again and requested a supervisor, this time I got "***". He advised me that the mechanic doesn't need to remove the engine from the vehicle and just make the damage visible and assessable for viewing for the inspector. I agreed and set a date and time for the inspector. 1-19-2018 I called Carshield and advised them that the inspector never showed up, they advised me they will look into the issue and call me back within 24 hours. They called me back on 1-23-2018 requesting a payment. I asked them what happened to them calling me back about the inspector and they claimed that they had no knowledge of my call nor my request. I then requested a refund for money paid for services I did not receive. I followed the procedure for the refund and was not refunded the proper amount due to me.
$438 and Carshield to fulfil their promise to fix my vehicle as per me losing valuable work time and and my vehicle still in the shop. I can not get another extended warranty due to my car is already damaged. Carshield giving me the run around puts me in the position where I would have to pay out of pocket over $3000 to fix the car that was under their warranty.

I was looking for a used car for one of my daughters, and found a 2015 Tiguan online. The factory warranty was done, so I decided to check the price of buying an extended warranty. I went to CarShield's website and entered the make, model, and year of the car, as well as my phone number. I have received more than 100 calls trying to sell me an extended warranty, and I didn't buy that car. I have begged them to stop calling me, and have even had to buy several apps to block the robo calls because of this company. I am also receiving all sorts of junk mail from many different companies who sell these warranties. Do not ever give these people your email, phone number or address. They will sell your information to other companies, and you will never get them to stop harrassing you.
CarShield continues to send numerous urgent requests to reply to their notices which give the impression that your car going out of warranty requires immediate resolution. "Immediate Response Requested" is imprinted in bold on the letter. The format gives the impression that this is a formal letter from the auto manufacturer and the fine print stating this is not from he manufacturer is in very small print.

company, they tell you everything you want to hear just to get a contract sale and when you go to get your vehicle repaired their claims department do everything to avoid accepting to pay out. You can save your money and repair your car yourself. Worst experience I've ever had in my life.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are happy to look into this for you.
You purchased Powertrain Gold coverage for your 2004 Nissan. Your repair facility called in a claim for suspension components and the blend door actuator. These parts are not listed as covered under the Powertrain Service Contract you purchased. You can reference the contract you received, showing the many covered components.
We hope this helps going forward.

Don’t waste your time or money with this company. They will not pay for anything. They’ll find every way to avoid paying for repairs. I had my truck in the shop for almost two weeks with bad lifters and my mechanic even provided his diagnosis. They kept on asking for more diagnosis to be done which they did not cover. I got tired of waiting after two weeks so just paid for the repairs myself. Cancelled the policy after. This company is a fraud. When they want your money, they’ll go out of their way. When they have to pay for something that’s covered, they don’t care about you. Stay away from this company and don’t make the same mistake I did.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.
We contacted the administrator of your contract and were advised that they were waiting for diagnosis and tear down to point of failure from your repair facility. The claim was in still active and pending diagnosis when you took your vehicle out of the shop.
Your contract has been cancelled as you requested and we will refund the 2 payments you made back to your MasterCard.

After having a warrant for almost 5 months, my car was having issues, troubleshooting was done by Mercedes.
Car Shield refuses to fix my car, they argued with the dealership and said it was my fault even though I have impeccable service records with Mercedes Benz.
I WOULD NOT recommend Car Shield to ANYONE.
Horrible. If I could rate them as 0 stars I would.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to look into this for you and respond.

CarShield is worthless and a scam! They will use any trick to not pay and make you think you will eat the cost and back out of having them pay!!! Short story... Had coverage in effect, 2 months later car broke-down, they said it is the transmission, told them about the warranty, and they called Carshield. Carshield tried to get any info from them to not have to pay such seeing if I had a clear title, provide 2 years of maintenance records of oil change, even to require records of me having the transmission fluids replaced. The shop advised that they are even going to have me authorize over $1000+ of the repair work to scare me into not wanting to risk being stuck with the bill, they not paying and so I can walk away on the claim. VERY DISHONORABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. I have conversation recorded if you want to listen before you buy this crappy warranty... just google me: ***.

American Auto Shield, the administrator/obligor or your service contract, stated that your claim is pending a tear down to point of failure. Once that request is completed, an inspector can be sent out to determine cause of failure.
If you have any further questions regarding your claim, please call the claims number listed in your contract as ***. The claims adjuster will be able to fully address any questions or concerns you may have.

On 02/14/2018, I received a letter from CarShield calling for “IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED” in all caps. My understanding is that they are selling non-manufacturer-provided warranties for personal vehicles. This would be fine, but the wording of the letter creates a false sense of urgency and apprehension, which may pressure some more neurotic or naive customers into calling them. The next thing they know is that some pushy sales agent persuaded them over the phone to commit to paying huge chunks of money for years for a service they don’t really need. Appeal to fear is a dishonest and, frankly, repulsive way to do business. In addition, even though I had never reached out to or heard from this company before, I seem to already have a customer ID # with them, which I find pretty disturbing.
I keep receiving letters from Car shield requesting vin and mileage on a vehicle I do not possess or own. They have provide d an Customer ID:***.
I have called the customer service number provided of *** and requested my name be removed from their mailing list and to please note their file that I am not a car owner. Each time I call a representative tells me my name has been removed, but yet I just received another letter as of 2/11/2018.
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
We do show you contacted our office in December of 2017 and let the representative know that you did not own a vehicle. The representative noted the file accordingly, but mistakenly did not click the box that would have removed your address from our mailing list. We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

I paid for 2 yrs of a carshield warranty in the amount of $400. I have recently taken my car to the shop and the warranty will not cover the service. I have contacted them and informed them that if they are not going to cover the cost of the repair then to refund me. Neither has happened.

I continue to receive phone calls and letters from this company telling me I have not complete the warranty coverage for my vehicle and that I need to contact them. I have asked several times when they call me to take me off of their call and mailing list. I asked them how did the procure my information and I get no response. The last call I got was at work from these people and my response to the call center rep was less then pleasant. This harassment from this company must stop and o hope you can assist if not I will file wrongful harassment suite against carshoeld
Thank you
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. However, we have no outbound calls to the number you have listed in this complaint.
Often times consumers are receiving phone calls from one of the many other marketing companies out there that do "cold call" consumers; then they receive one of our mailed advertisements and mistakenly assume that the phone calls were coming from our company as well. That is not the case.
We will be happy to remove your information from our mailing list. However, CarShield has not placed any calls to the number listed in this complaint.

I am rejecting this response because: carshirld or their representative outbound call center has I'm fact made multiple calls to my home phone. This response is directly in line with their sales tactics that I have been a victim of for several months. If you carshield are telling me you have no record of calling my number then I would assume you have no idea that other parties are using your name in an attempt to sell your product. Interesting but I find it hard to believe that would happen....so I am of the opinion you do in fact know you are calling my number. All I ask is those calls stop immediately. I have not interest in doimg business with a company that has no idea someone not associated with the company is selling the companies product.....stop calling is all I ask
Sincerely
We are very sorry to hear that you are receiving so many calls. However, they are not from CarShield.
There are many other marketing companies out there that do call consumers repeatedly, even when asked not to. There is another company called CarSure that may be the ones calling you. There is no way for us to know that other than we have had similar complaints that have turned out to be CarSure. We are not affiliated in any way with CarSure.
There is nothing we can do to stop the phone calls when they are not coming from our company. We record all inbound and outbound calls and show none from the phone number you have provided.

I saw the adverts for Carshield on Instagram and decided to give them a call because I was considering starting service with them. I called and spoke with a representative, ***, and she was nice (in the beginning) but once I told her that I’m not able to do anything or make any payments until the 26th she got her manager and he badgered me into “locking down a deal” that I technically did not need but wanted a safety net. I gave them my card info to my cash app card (never has any money on it to deter scams). *** calls my phone back and leaves an insanely demeaning voicemail saying that my personal card information is sitting out in the open and I should call back so we can have an adult conversation because I disconnected the call because I was at work and she was inconveniencing me. The fact that, “my card info is sitting in the open being able to be viewed by anyone who walks past (or whatever she was insisting)” is a gross act on their part of customer service.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.
To clarify, consumer's personal information is never "left out in the open". What *** should have said is that we have your information on file and are open to proceed with processing your down payment if we have your authorization to retry.
We will definitely review the call in question and take appropriate disciplinary action.
Again, we do apologize for the misunderstanding and assure you that any personal information that consumers entrust us with is properly protected and secure.

On February 8th 2018 I received a letter from carshield that my coverage will be coming to a end at 80000 miles. I did tell them that I had called previously at the end of 2017 to update my information at that time they didn't tell me my car insurance was about to expire.
I Iwa transferred to a gentleman who try to get me extended warranty coverage. I told him I wasn't interested in the coverage .He told me to wait and let him finish. He explained that it would be $295 and then every month would be a smaller amount & told me to stop cutting him off.
I told him I'm on a recorded line and I do not want your coverage, I'ma Senior on a fixed Income, so I'm saying no. He started yelling at me saying let him finish let me finish and I told him again I didn't want the insurance. he stated I would be less than smart not to get the insurance because it pays for itself. I told him again I'm saying no, so he yelled again and I had to hang up the phone on him.
CarShield, your customer service is extremely rude & need more training. It's suppose to be about the CUSTOMER!!!! The pattern of selling by yelling definitely gets your business no where.
I want to tell consumers to beware if CarShield 's pushy & horrible customer service!!!!
I want to share a negative experience with CarShield. I bought a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk less than a year ago. CarShield has send me different notices, each with immediate response requested. I decided to call and check them. I decided to cancel the contract without checking with Revdex.com first. So I called to cancel, and I had to tell Customer Service 6 times I want to cancel and refused to get them any more reasons. She said that CarShield has a 65% approval rating, but when I compare the total customer reviews with complaints, I got a 65% negative rating. And CarShield isn't Revdex.com Accredited and has a F rating overview.. That's important to me. My current service contract I made upon purchase of the vehicle has an A+ Revdex.com rating and 65% positive customer review. I saw no complaints noted by Revdex.com. CarShield told me the ratings were the opposite, 65% positive for CarShielf and my current contract is 65% negative. This is wrong. I'm glad Revdex.com is around to check these people, and I'm glad I canceled the contract with CarShield. I would rate CarShield a 1 star. The issue has been resolved with a refund off a down payment.
I contracted with CarShield for a warranty for my son's car. The effective date was 10-19-17 and the warranty went through 11/17/22. I made regular payments that totaled approximately $594.00. On January 29th, I wrote to them asking to cancel the warranty policy. I asked for a refund and they replied that I would not be eligible for a refund because of the number of miles my son had put on the car. No where is that stipulated in the contract that mileage effects refunds upon cancellation.
The problem I am having is that they will not give me back my refund my money that I paid them for my warranty on my car which belongs to my son they tell me that I can not get anything back because of the miles that my son drove on the car that is crazy all I want is my refund back all my money I paid them I need your help so please help me thank you.
They will not refund me my money back that I paid for the warranty on my car they said they will not give it back because I wrote the wrong number of miles on my letter to them because I cancel my service with them can you please help me to get my money back all of it thank you.
