CarShield Reviews (%countItem)

I took my vehicle to my local Toyota repair shop. I gave them my carshield warranty information so that they can get it approved. Apparently my repair was denied because the parts were $500 more than they wanted to pay. American Carshield wanted to send Toyota an A/C compressor and clutch that costs under $300. I called all the auto parts stores in my area and all were $460-$600 range. I assume the parts American Carshield wanted to send are used or very poor quality. They (Carshield) want me to pick my vehicle up at Toyota and take it to a different shop. I have to go through the whole approval process again. Both Carshield and American Carshield have been pushing me off on several different departments. I even had a carshield operator give me the number to after hours customer service that doesnt exist.

When I first purchased the warranty I was told that I could take my vehicle to the repair shop of my choice even the dealer. What they dont tell you is that you have to find a shop that meets their pricing standards.

I saw the TV commercial for car shield yesterday and decided to give them a call to see how much their "policy" would cost. When I went to the website I had no choice but to leave my phone number for them to contact me.
Within ten minutes a young lady called, asked questions about the cat mileage then teenager's me to her "account specialist". He was very polite at first, and gave me a quote of almost $4000.00 for four years of coverage on my power train. The payments would be $181 a month after a roughly $300 down payment. I told the young man I was just interested in a quote at that time, that I had only returned to work the week before after being out foe two months due to two surgeries. That's when the high pressure, hard sell tactics began. He asked if I was over 50, when I said yes he did the fake " let me talk to my manager" thing. He puts me on hold for about thirty seconds then comes back saying he went to bat for me and that the payment could be reduced to a down payment of $150 and $125 a month to save me $500 over the 24 months. Again I said not today, I do not have its right now, but that I had money coming in the next couple of months and I could call and do the full sum at that time. He began telling me that my car may not be eligible in a couple months, that it was a high risk car, etc. Again I repeated I only wanted a quote and could not afford it. He then went to well they wouldn't be able to help me in a couple months. At that time I told him well then I'll do without and they I didn't appreciate the hard sell routine and I hung up. That told me all I needed to know about this business! Oh, during the conversation he also said he was paralyzed from the chest down after a car accident. While it may be true, after the rest of the conversation that was probably a tactic as well. He said it after he found out I was over 50!
Not a company I'd trust!

I started using this service after I had heard a few advertisements. Beware,it took me more than five months to finally recieve my paperwork showing coverage. They made statements that it was mailed on 4 different occasions and then proceeded to take my email 3 times and stated they sent it. I finally stopped paying the premium and after two months (and canceling) I received the paperwork miraculously. I do not recommend this company (scam) and never will.

Carsheild is a scam they will take payments from you for months only to tell you later that they can't get your car fixed cause you don't own it.how about letting that person know upfront that you can't service their car.it took them months to send a package in a mail then tell us it was pending that what took it so long to arrive I advise people not to use this company they are a scam and should be shut down they will continue taking payments if you let them I advise you to stay away from these scam artist.

I signed up with carshield for 2 vehicles and got charged $170 ($85 each) for both vehicles on may 24th. There is a 30 grace period if you cancel within that you will be refunded in full. When I called today June 12th the customer service was rude and kept trying to tell me to keep it for the remaining time but I said no, I want my money back and no longer wanted their services.
When I called the rep kept asking me "well why did you purchase our services if you cant afford it?" Are you kidding!!!! The rep gave me attitude and then put me on hold without letting me know so I eventually hung up.
When I called back the rep told me in her "notes" it says the rep tried to start the refund process but got disconnected. This whole ordeal with carshield today has put me in tears and a high amount of stress. After finally getting to process my cancellation and refund I get an email saying I'm getting $85 back, that's only half!
I call again, and again the rep reads her notes and they are complete lies of what they confirmed and spoke with me about.
I am still waiting on my second email to confirm my remaining $85 back and I am praying to God that my account shows the money In the 3-5 business days as promised. I bet if I have to call them back they will say they have no record of things that were discussed.
I've been reading reviews on them and I dont know how the majority of them are positive! It's like the company makes up the positive reviews because they are all lies!!! I cant believe I put my faith in this company to be honest and go by what they told me I could do.
To anyone looking into purchasing carshield, dont do it, dont waste your time or money, just save your own money for repairs for emergency because carshield does not have your back. I have to give one star because negative is not an option.

DO NOT CONTACT THIS (PRIVATE) MAILING ADDRESS AGAIN!!!!
To whom it may concern:
This notification will be emailed to entities for the purpose of evidence regarding any ongoing communication from CarShield after notification.
At no time do I have "any" extended car warranty. At no time was CarShield given permission to illicit my private mailing address in an attempt to defraud (or deceive) me in any capacity. At no time does CarShield have the authority to “resolve” this matter beyond the Revdex.com portal. CarShield took the liberty of contacting me through my private mailing address and did so without my knowledge or permission. By doing so CarShield intentionally engaged in "unauthorized" access of my mailing information" which constitutes invasion of privacy and is a federal crime. I do not wish to communicate with CarShield (or any representative of CarShield) outside the confines of the Revdex.com or authorities.
I will file a “formal” complaint against CarShield; with government agencies including (but not limited to) U.S. Postal Service - Mail Fraud Division, Missouri Secretary of State, Missouri Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, Federal Trade Commission (FTC); as well as others designated entities enlisted to protect the general public and investigate any wrongdoing. Based on this fact, I can not (and will not) enter into a mode of (ongoing) communication with CarShield on any level. I received the same type of fraudulent letter from Auto Assure, LLC; several months ago and went after them relentlessly. Needless to say I prevailed! I do not take kindly to invasion of my privacy regarding peaceful enjoyment of my home and phone. I will pursue the same relentless efforts against CarShield if necessary. I do not wish to receive written correspondence from CarShield ever!!!! I didn't ask for a mailing from CarShield in the first place. As far as I'm concerned there is no "accidental mailings" period! Every letter I continue to receive from CarShield (after this formal notice) will be "tendered" as evidence and submitted to the proper authorities. I am royally “pissed-off” with CarShield's “misleading” tactics; and have no intention of resolving this matter outside the confines of a government agency or lawyer. Collecting evidence is vital to this process; and CarShield's continued attempts to communicate with me will contribute to this factor. I intend to pursue this matter to the fullest extent of the law. Please familiarize yourself with “Mail and Wire Fraud”, Scams, and willful intent to defraud (and deceive) the general public. You’ll be better informed and recognize my legitimate legal stance in this matter.
Please honor my wishes or there will substantial retribution if you do not!

I purchased an extended warranty from this company 7 months ago. I just had the air conditioning go out in my car and this company refused to fix my vehicle.

I don't know how people are so stupid that they choose to use a company like this it's obviously a scam nobody's going to lose money the only reason these places exist is to take your money. My mom against my better judgement ended up paying over $138 a month for two years to this company for a 2011 Impala that wasn't worth even 8 Grand and of course out of three different X requesting their help they refused to help her with her air conditioning not working they wouldn't even help her with a battery do not go with these companies and if you have a family member that is make sure you tell them otherwise any mechanic will tell you any store will tell you any quick Google search will tell you these places are worthless and useless

I do have a beautiful Corvette which a keep in optimum standards and been that my dealer etended warranty expired no long ago I started shopping for car warranties, and early morning a turned on my TV exactly May 18th and Bingo was a TV show advertising “CARSHIELD” I called the number Spoke tos representative with the name of *** who offered different quotes , I explained him exactly the coverage I was looking for , I live in Florida and of course Engine cooling and AC Is # 1 for Floridians Prices etc . But before signing up I took my time to do RESEARCH on the plans the offered and told him I will call him back after doing my errands to discuss if his offer was suitable to my needs. Well he called me twice before I could call him back and offered all what I mentioned I told him I looked up his company plans and found a images of all plans with checks marks for each plan coverage specially Engine , transmission and offcourse AC cooling system etc Then he told me the plan he offered have more etc including power windows etc etc actually exceeded my expectations, THE PLAN NAMED POWER TRAIN PLUS it cover AC WATER PUMP ETC I repeatedly confirmed with him and asked if he was sure ??? Said yes then we went in to pricing I told him I will call back will think about it. THEN HE Stated
That TODAY They was RUNNING A SPECIAL PRICE ON THIS PLAN and that he CAN GIVE Me the plan FOR A Special LESSER PRICE OF $$$ 93.00 I asked again if it was for the same plan ??? He said YES just TODAY .
This Sales representative MISLEADED ME AND MADE ME feel that I was been been appreciated for been new CUSTOMER. And will go so far to reduce the price ???when in reality he was selling me a different plan
He CHARGED ME AN INITIAL FEE of $93.00 “Special Discounted Price”
I thought WOW ?? I got a great BARGAIN. I am staying with CARSHIELD .
But WHEN I GOT THE DOCUMENTS IN THE MAIL ???! He sold me the LOWEST basic Coverage available .
I IMMEDIATELY CALLED CARSHIELD spoke to a JASON HE SAID THAT THEY DONT DO DISCOUNTS OR PROMOTIONS FOR THE STATE OF FLORIDA ??
Well I strongly suggest they listen to that phone call *** CLEARLY LIED TO ME !! plus he stated that the promotion he was because I live in FLORIDA WHICH QUALIFIES ME TO CUT DOWN THE PRICE ???
The package he sneaked on me can’t do nothing for my Beautiful CORVETTE.. & after the fact I read lots of MISLEADING SALES COMPLAINTS ABOUT CARSHIELD.

IF THIS COMPANY DOESNT HONOR WHAT THE SALES PERSON PROMISED I am definitely Seeking Legal action proceeds against them and I requesting a CALL RECORDING SUBPOENA for court evidence for Deceptive Sales

I registered with this business In September of 2017 and the business was deducting $110.12 from my account every month on the 8th from November until I changed my account information through the bank in March. I'd never received any documentation about the plan or policy. I'd called the company today spoke with 2 different men at Carshield. The only thing they were concerned with was reinstating me for $227.75.

CarShield Response • Jun 15, 2018

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.

We see that you purchased your service contract in October of 2017. You never notified us that you had not received your service contract in the mail. We would have been happy to email, mail, fax you a copy if you had let us know that you did not receive it. However, the address you listed in this complaint is the same address we have on file and the same address the service contract was mailed to.

One of our representatives called you on April 12, 2018 and let you know that your payments were past due. You did not tell us at that time that you had changed your payment information and you stated that you did not have time to talk at that time. We never received a call back from you.

Your service contract cancelled for non payment on May 9, 2018. When a service contract cancels for non payment, no refund is due.

We will make an exception in your case and issue a prorated refund as of the date your service contract cancelled for non payment. We have waived the cancellation fee as a gesture of goodwill.

I bought a warranty on my 2014 GMC with a 4" lift kit. When I bought it they said it would be covered so after paying for 9 months I finally needed to use it for my transmission. They denied my claim saying my truck has a 7" lift funny I have the paperwork that showed a 4" lift. that didn't matter to this company. Than they said we will be glad to cancel you policy and give me a total refund. So I call and check on it and the guy proceeds to tell me that it will be a prorated refund instead of what they told me the other day of a total refund for the mistake when I bought it? How does this company even have a business license anymore?
Instead of sending my money back for apprx $1,000.00 + the $150.00 deposit= $1,150.00 I paid them! They tell me they are sending me $328.00 total? I am so tired of being lied to.

CarShield Response • Jun 02, 2018

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.

***, the administrator of your service contract, has voided your contract due to the modification of a 7" lift on your vehicle.

You will be receiving a check for the remainder of your full refund, minus a prior claim paid for a right rear door lock in the amount of $88.87. You will receive your remaining refund of $440.68 by check in approximately 5-7 business days.

I wanted to warn people about doing business with Carshield. I submitted a request for a quote on their website and then they called me 4 or 5 times after that. I finally had time to call them back and all I wanted to do was to get some basic information on their company and what they have to offer. I spoke to the initial representative and he gave me some information on two coverage plans. I told him that I wanted information through email or written correspondence before I made a decision to purchase anything. He asked me twice if I would like to use credit card today. So, he then put his account manager on the phone and the manager offered me an even lower tier plan and he said what credit card do you want to use? I told him that I am not buying anything today or making an immediate decision over the phone. So, then he started badgering me with a ton of questions about if my car breaks down then what would I do? I told him the only reason I called today was to get information on the company and what they are all about. He then said I don't mean to give you a hard time but you seem very hesitant about this. I told him that I need to discuss this with my wife before any decision is made and then I said I am not going to argue with you and I had to hang up on him. This is the worst and most unprofessional company that I have ever dealt with and they need to re-train their customer service agents on ethical practices. They should be put out of business permanently.

Carshield sends out letters insinuating that the warranty on your car is through them and you need to respond immediately about not activating your contract, when in reality you don't have a contract with them they want to sell you one. This could easily trick people into buying coverage they don't need or already have. Luckily, I was smart enough to pull my original warranty paperwork and see they were not the company that held my warranty. I immediately called them and told them to remove my name from their mailing list.

Receiving harassing phone calls from this company, 3-4 times a day, for now two weeks. Multiple requests to be removed from call list go ignored. Multiple attempts to get company address result in hang-ups by their end. They have requested my social security number. Finally got a *** to give me this address when I received call from ***.

CarShield Response • May 22, 2018

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.

We show no calls to the number that has been provided in this complaint. Our company does NOT "cold call" consumers. We only call prior customers who's service contracts they purchased though our company are nearing expiration or have expired.

Often times, some of the dozens of other marketing companies out there are "cold calling" consumers relentlessly; the consumer then receives one of our mailed advertisements and assumes the calls are coming from our company as well. That is not the case.

We do advertise by sending mailed advertisements, however. We would be happy to remove the information provided in this complaint from our mailing list. You should receive no additional mail pieces from our company.

Also worth noting, our representatives would NEVER ask you for your social security number under any circumstances.

I am rejecting this response because:

Confirm a *** @ *** phone number, provided address *** is not an employee of the company. If not then I was provided false information by whoever *** is actually working for. If they are an employee then my complaint remains as initially sent, as I have never purchased anything from this company and continue to receive 2-3 calls daily (they are now using an unavailable number and refuse to give me full name or address). I am going by the information provided by the harassing phone calls, not by any flier received.

CarShield Response • Jun 02, 2018

We are definitely sorry you are still receiving calls. However, they are not coming from CarShield.

Our representatives are absolutely up front with who our company is and give their name very openly. And, again, we do not "cold call" consumers.

We also do not have nor ever have had, and employee named Monica Smith. The number you have listed in your complaint, ***, is not a number that belongs to our company.

We tried calling the *** number you provided to find out what company called you and could not get through to any representative. We were just placed on hold. Unfortunately, we have had and continue to have other companies spoof our company name.

OMG! This company called me (76 years old) and convinced me that I NEED this service. I am on a fixed income and by the time 18 months are up they would have gotten almost $4000 from me. When my daughter and I called them at 7:30 CST we were told that customer service would have to handle that....well, this piece of paper they've sent me in the mail says this number *** IS customer service, however, we were told to call back in the morning. I told them about some reviews that my daughter had seen on the Revdex.com site and that I'd like to cancel this policy. Customer Service kept telling me that they'd like to talk to my daughter to convince her that I need this policy. When my daughter called sheI got the run around, switched from operator to operator, they muted the background, and Payton was horrible at customer service. She was rude and pushy and unwilling to simply cancel the policy. FINALLY, she was able to cancel this. It is so sad that a company will call our elderly people and use scare tactics to try and swindle them out of their hard earned money. My children will make sure that I am taken care of-not CarShield or AmeriShield or *** or *** or anybody else associated with *** or ***.

I signed up with Car Shield for two of my vehicles. In their advertising they state that you need Car Shield to cover major repairs, and you should sign up before you need it. I recently took my BMW in to the dealer because a light came on that said: "Drive Control...drive moderately." The dealer found other issues and gave me a quote of $7500. Car Shield stated that they would not cover anything. The contract states power-train with labor and Turbo (my car does not have Turbo, so unsure why this is on there). The Propeller Shaft Joint and Steering Switch appear to be the major issues and would affect safety. Car Shield Customer Service was unmovable and would only state that they would not cover the repairs.

I bought this "insurance" 16 months ago for my 2000 Ford F-150. The rear started making a noise. I took it to my mechanic, who said there was play in the right rear wheel bearing. The Amerishield inspector came out and said the same thing. However, you have to open the differential cover to take out the axle to get to the rear wheel bearing. Auto mechanics 101. It was then discovered the wheel bearring had froze and was eating the housing and also spider gear had substantial play in it and needed to be replaced. My mechanic called Amerishield, hence the run around began. He was told to get a price on a rear end replacement with a one year warranty, he called back and after an hour on hold he was told to get the price of the rear wheel bearing, which is about $14. He then said he was told to get a price for rear replacement and the agent he talked to said they had no record of that. Bottom line is my mechanic, who is my cousin, told me that he wasn't dealing with it.

The number that you had provided was for Car shield they are a broker for Amerishield. My mechanic filled it fluid and got it off the lift for other vehicles. He is very disgusted at this point, especially after one adjuster told him to get the price and estimate to put in a used rear, then being told to get a price on the rear bearing, which is totally irrelevant. It was found that the spider gear, pinion gear and carrier bearing are also bad. So, putting in a rear bearing would be like putting a band aid on a hemorrhoid.
