I got the warranty contract on 5/25 for $85 and was billed through my bank account. I was told that I could change the payment method at later date, I called in on 6/18 to change payment method from my bank account to my AmEx card. I was told it was taken care of before I hung up. Well, by 6/26 I noticed that my card wasn't drafted for the payment so I checked my bank account on 6/27 and behold, the $85 payment from Front Range tried to go through but the payment was not in my bank account any more because it was still on my card waiting for the payment to draft. I received a bank NSF fee of $35. I immediately called CarShield to find out what happened. I was told this....the new payment method is now entered in and the July payment will come out of the card. I asked what happened, why wasn't the payment taken off of the card and he said he is not sure but it is taken care of now and I wouldn't have any other problems. I told the guy that I was not happy with how this was handled and I want to cancel the contract. He immediately offered me a lower monthly payment of $75. I said no and I want to talk with someone to cancel this contract. He went into another sales pitch and I interrupted him to tell him I would call back the next day. I called the next day and was transferred to a lady this time, I explained my issue and I cancelled the contract. She told me I would get my initial payment refunded to me and gave me a confirmation number. Well, I thought that would be the end of business with CarShield but on 7/2 I was checking my bank account and I see that $85 was drafted from Front Range as a retry payment. I called Front Range and they told me that my account was still active and I would have to call CarShield with any questions. When I called and explained everything that had happened starting from 6/26, I was told that the $85 payment came out of the bank account on 6/26 and all future payments will come off of card but it is not showing that a payment is drafting on 7/2. I told him I was looking directly at my bank transactions for 6/26 and I received a NSF fee and for 7/2 it is showing an amount of $85 that is pending as a second attempt to collect funds. He told me that that is not correct and payment drafted on 6/26 and if there is a pending $85 showing then it will drop off before posting but I won't have a problem when the July payment drafts. I once again let them know that I want this contract cancelled and my money returned. He told me that my contract will cancel on 7/25 and I will have access to all benefits until then but I was not entitled to a refund. I was very upset at this point. I told him I spoke with a lady on 6/28 and was told I would receive a refund. He said the lady was new to the company and she read me the wrong information. I told him I wanted my money returned to me and the way this contract was handled is a big disgrace and I wouldn't continue doing business with them even if the payment was lowered to $50 monthly. it was then he said he would need to speak with the boss. When he came back on the phone, he said his boss said that I will receive the $85 payment refund because they are not going to die over refunding just $85 and it will be refunded in 10 days. Today is 7/11 and I'm still waiting..

Started having a loud squeal coming from the front of the vehicle. so I took truck to my mechanic who is a qualified repair facility to have it checked. After having diagnosed the problem (bad harmonic balancer) proceed to contact Carsheild only to have been put on hold close to an hour at the mechanics expense. This was on 05/30/2018. I was unable to pick up the vehicle until the claim was settled. The next day the mechanic called Carsheild only to be put on hold again costing his time. By this time my mother was without transportation for two days. I then had to borrow $350 to get her truck out. This is causing a hardship for every one involved and is not acceptable. This is negative customer service and will not be tolerated. My mother purchased this policy in good faith and has invested way more of her money than we are asking for. I seriously hope they are not one of the many businesses that take advantage of the seniors. This truck was a gift to her from my father whom we lost to cancer. I hope she doesn't have to give it up because of these financial hardships. Also we had trouble last year on a road trip and were stranded with a alternator failure. Car Shield would not pay for the part. So we had to turn around and come home because we ran out of money. Someone needs to shut these guys down ASAP.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.
Ms. did have a claim paid for an alternator repair on July 10, 2017 in the amount of $216.29. ***, the administrator of your service contract, also shows an inactive claim in their system. Their notes show that they tried contacting you and never got a call back.
Your service contract has been cancelled, as you requested. The claim paid in the amount of 216.29 has been deducted from your prorated refund, as outlined in your service contract. We have waived the $50.00 cancellation fee, as a gesture of goodwill.
Your refund of 604.32 is being mailed to the address listed in this complaint. You should receive your refund check in 7-10 days.

Received settlement by check from Carshield on 9/13/18. Thank you so much for your help. We really appreciate your hard work. Happy to put this behind me! God bless.
I have never been treated so poorly with the first call made to a company. All I asked for was a quote and how the policies work. Once they told me how much down payment I needed, I told them I don't have my credit card with me because I share it with my boyfriend. I was then told to give a check over phone. I told them I don't write checks so I don't have any, so they (2 different employees, which sound like the same person different names), told me to give them my boyfriend's number so they can call him to get the card number. I said no. They kept pushing me saying my credit card is probably in my purse and to go get it. I lead him to believe I would call once my boyfriend got home, and got mad and said I have 2 hours to call back or no deal. Made me feel very uncomfortable.I hung up without giving my card info. But now afraid they will start blowing up my phone.
When CarSheild calls my home and menu says Press 1 to talk to customer service, they hang up, when menu says Press 2 to take me off list, they hang up. These are numbers the CarShield calls me from: ***, ***, ***, ***, ***.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. However, the numbers you have listed do not belong to CarShield and we show no outgoing calls to the number you have listed.
Often times a consumer is receiving calls from another marketer; they then receive a mailed advertisement from CarShield and assume the previous calls were coming from CarShield as well. That is not the case.
CarShield does not call consumers unless they already have a previously purchased service contract with us that nearing expiration.
The calls you are receiving are not coming from CarShield.

I called Revdex.com to ask why they get such a bad review. I suggest you do the same. It is shocking how bad this company are. Do not use them.Pushy and rude sales staff. awful business.
They are miss leading. They don't cover anything of importance. Blew a head gasket and nothing was covered. I sure am glad we made it home from vacation because if we would have still been on the road I would have been out a lot more money. I wish they worked as hard at keeping a customer as they do trying to get a new one. The worst warranty company I have dealt with.
This company took payment out of my credit card on the day I called them and did not give me a chance to review the contract so I canceled it within 3 days of contacting them. I believe the law says they must give me at least 7 days to review to see if I still want it. They also gave me a hard time when I called to cancel and I did not appreciate that. I have canceled my credit card so they cant get any more money and also filed a complaint on the payment with them.

I signed up for this service but after reading reviews I was no longer interested. I keep getting letter about a policy I never opened. I called Car Shield and told them I was no longer interested. I was told that I would be taken off their list. I wasn’t because a few days ago I had gotten another letter. I want my information taken off their list.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Mailers are sent each week and we assume that the second mailer you received was already in production before you requested to be removed from our mailing list. This is my second time filling a complaint against this company. The first time they kept sending me warranty information when I called and asked to be taken off as I was not interested. They kept sending me information letters. I had to write a complaint in June or July. It’s September 3rd, 2018 and a few days ago I got a letter saying I had to sign up for the warranty. They told me twice I would be taken off. Not very happy.
To finally take me off their mailing list and be left alone
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We removed your information from our mailing list when you previously requested it of us.
There are dozens of marketers that send similar mailed advertisements. Could you be receiving mailers from several different marketers?
If you could provide us with the ID number that appeared on the mailer you most recently received; we can confirm if it was sent on our behalf and make sure, if it was, to remove your ID information from our mailing list.
Thank you.

CALLED THEM TO SEE WHAT KIND OF PRICE THEY CAN DO FOR MY JEEP WRANGLER THEY SAID IT WOULD BE 3800 AFTER I TOLD HIM NO HE SAID HE COULD DROP IT TO 3000 AFTER HIM PUSHING ME TO GET IT I STILL SAID I HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT AND THE PRICE DROP TO 2000. SO TODAY I WENT ONLINE TO LOOK AND IM GLAD I DIDN'T GO WITH THEM. MY WIFE AND I WHERE THINKING HOW THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF IF THEY CAN DROP THE PRICE 1800 IN A 10 MIN PHONE CALL
We purchased the extended warranty for our vehicle. We were given Wonderful customer service in the beginning to get your money. But, when we needed to use the service, they will give you and the mechanic the run around. They would say one thing, and then someone would call back and deny that the service, can move forward! Never ever purchase from this company. They are not Trust Worthy! They will also tell your mechanic what they can charge per hour! Very unprofessional Garret x2266! If I could give them a negative number I would. Have been going through this with Carshield for OVER ONE MONTH!
Horrible, horrible, and lies, on top of lies. I have never filed a complaint or given a bad review to a company, but Carshield is the absolute WORST company I have ever encountered. Nothing is covered in the plan and they constantly come up with lies to keep you with a contract. Then the refund was a joke.
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter. The covered components of the Powertrain service contract you purchased were explained during your initial call to our office and also detailed in the service contract you received. We show that you purchased your service contract on August 14, 2017. Your vehicle has been actively covered under your Platinum Plus Service Contract for almost a year. If you have decided you would like to cancel your service contract, we would be happy to take care of that for you as our customer service representative stated when you called.
It is written in your service contract under the cancellation section, "after the first 20 business days, the cancellation refund will be calculated on a pro rata basis". We have waived the $50.00 cancellation fee for you as a gesture of goodwill.
Your service contract has been cancelled, as you requested, and you should be receiving your prorated refund in 7-10 days.

I am rejecting this response because: This company is calling me multiple times a day threatening to send me to collections. I do not owe them they owe me over $1000.00. I want a full refund and no further contact from this company.

I called for a quote and information and was pushed into buying coverage. When I called to cancel (after confirming that it was not a good financial decision) they ran the hard sell again, questioning my decision, saying they wanted to help. I had to raise my voice and ask for a supervisor before they agreed to cancel my policy and return my money.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our notes show that you called our office to cancel your service contract due to financial reasons. Your coverage was cancelled that day and you were refunded in full, back to your credit card, within 2 days. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

The customer service team are very pushy to get you to sign up with them. They are nice but in a aggresive way to get your credit card number. They want your credit card number asap and lock you into their contract. I figured when the company is so persistant to get your credit card number right away there is something totally not right with that. When I told the rep I wanted to see the company's overall reviews online before I made any final decision he said, "OK, I'll give you a minute or two to read the reveiws. I can wait here on the phone." My replied, "No, it's not going to take me 1 or 2 minutes that takes more than a few minutes." Then he completely blew my reply off and continued asking for the credit card number. The Rep. claimed they had an A+ rating with the Revdex.com, however I see a big "F" for their ratings. Finally, I had to hang up the phone and leave him talking because he was going nonstop with the reasons while I should urgently buy the warranty and persistant to get my credit card number. No Thanks.
Warranty should cover power train, including transmission. My transmission started jerki g and hard shifting lately and they denied service stating that those are electronic issues. I requested a refund but they don't want to provide full refund

As American Auto Shield is the administrator of your service contract, they would be able to fully address any questions regarding the claim that was submitted. Their notes in your file state that the cause of failure is not a covered component under your contract's terms and conditions.
As a gesture of goodwill, we are willing to offer you a refund of the monies paid into your contract. You will be receiving the remainder of your refund in 7-10 days.

This is the worst company to purchase a car warranty from. I paid over $3800 for my warranty and only the engine parts that the oil touches is covered by the warranty. None of the components and hoses that connect to the engine are covered. Please do not buy this warranty only buy your car warranty though your bank or credit union.
I had a repair bill for ever $6000 and car shield would only pay for $900 of parts and labor
Thank God bmw does not charge for loaner vehicles
CarShield does false advertising about the services they will provide. When a claim is filed, they ask for all kinds of paperwork that they know you do not have... paperwork years before you even got the warranty with them... then they deny the claim. I have had several issues with this company within a six month period of getting the warranty. This company needs to be shut down. Also when you ask for your deposit back and premium to cancel they say that it went to another entity and they cannot give it back.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.
United Car Care, the administrator of Mr. Powertrain Gold Service Contract, requested maintenance records to move forward with the repair claim. Mr. could not provide the records requested. The claim cannot move forward without the manufacturer suggested maintenance records showing the vehicle is being properly maintained.
As a gesture of good will and in an effort to resolve this complaint, we are willing to refund the 3 monthly payments and down payment you have made. Your coverage has been cancelled at your request.

I purchased an extended warranty with this company. I submitted a claim with them that was denied for having a totaled title. I gave them all the information about the car when I signed up and never once was told they could not cover the car, they took my money every month knowing it was not covered.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.
When you called our office to purchase your month to month extended service contract, the sales representative asked you if your *** had a salvage or branded title. You stated that it did not. Your administrator discovered that your vehicle did have a branded title, so your service contract was voided. Vehicles with salvage or branded titles are ineligible for coverage.
You are in the process of being refunded in full, all monies paid into your coverage. Refunds for you monthly payments will be credited back to your Visa Card ending in ***.

I am rejecting this response because know when
I know when when I talked to carshield and I gave them my vent number they said every thing was okay like they checked and if they did not check it’s on them. That’s how they get over on people. By collecting people’s money for months then when put a claim in they denie them months later. Carsheiild did refund one month back, not good I should and everyone also should receive their full refund.
Sincerely
I started a policy April 2018 for my 2008 Audi. I took it to a repair shop because of its handling. The mechanic called and explained the problem with the suspension and the repair needed but was told it was not covered under the policy. Because, the repair is not covered, I decided the policy was not beneficial and called to cancel. Each time I call you refuse to cancel and your reps even offer discounts but no one will allow me to cancel.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.
As explained during your call to our office, the *** membership you purchased is a membership where experience adjusters negotiate reduced auto repair costs for you. *** are typically able to obtain lower prices for their members by negotiating the price of your repair with the repair shop of your choice.
If you are not happy with this service, we will agree to refund your membership cost in full, as a gesture of goodwill. This will cancel your membership.
