I keep getting calls about getting a service activated asap.... it's on a vehicle I have never owned period.... not sure where they got this info but I've told people when they call and want me to pick up this contract that I never have owned a ford focus period... please get me off your list...still the calls all hours of the day .... my id # is318cy37749

Carshield still sends out the exact same mailers that Revdex.com claims were resolved back in 2016. I received one today. It still gives the same warnings and number of days to respond. Clearly this is a warranty scam.

They sent us a letter saying Our car's factory warranty has expired. It's not true. It's still in the warranty and 4 years. Our car dealer takes care of it. It sounds like the company CarShield is trying to make people believe they need to extend their warranty. It's a "FALSE ADVERTISEMENT" !

CarShield Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter.

The mailers that are sent out on our behalf state, "IF you factory warranty has expired, you will be responsible for paying any repairs". The mailer then goes on to offer extended coverage on the consumer's vehicle.

We will remove Mr. from our mailing list since he has expressed disinterest.

Don't fall into their scam tactics. They try to make you feel you need to buy or extend your car warranty. Before making a decision, ask your car dealer. In our case, they said "your factory warranty has expired and you need to extend it". However, my car has 3 year warranty and is still in the period. Watch out.

Carshield promise me to have good coverage of my vehicle and paying $ 150 month for 4 months. They told me I will get the car maintenance insurance after 1000 miles or a 3 months after. I took my car for maintenance but they are denying my claims that is too soon or a 20 mIles less plus they won't cover the problem of the car. They gave me a hard time and wont fix my car and won't give me the full refund. They are a big scam. I would like you to check on them because this is a hard earn money. Pls help me get all refund.

After checking with ***, the administrator of the service contract Ms. purchased for her 2007 Mini Cooper; we can see that the claim in question was denied because Ms. was still within her 1000 mile grace period.

We have cancelled Ms. service contract as requested and she will receive a prorated refund of $504.34. We have waived the cancellation fee as a gesture of good will.

$150.00 of that refund has been credited back to her *** Card ending in *** and the remainder of her refund will be send to her *** address. She should received that check within 7-10 business days.

I purchased an extended warranty on my car 6 months ago and then I had a problem with the transmission and after about 6 weeks in the shop they declined to honor the contract stating that the problem had obviously had to have occurred prior to the time when the contract had been signed because I had only driven a couple hundred miles and the failure was determined to have had to taken at least a thousand miles to fail. The failed parts are covered under this warranty but since I didn't notice any problems that I had tried to get one over on their company.

CarShield Response

Thank your for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to look into this matter for you.

After contacting ***, we see that you have only driven 248 miles since you purchased ***'s Powertrain Gold Coverage. As explained in your contract and during the sales call, there is a 1000 mile and 30 day waiting period before the coverage is active. No claim will be paid during the waiting period.

On October 13, 2017 you requested cancellation of your coverage. Your coverage was cancelled as you requested and you were issued your prorated refund credited back to your Visa ending in ***, per the contracts terms and conditions, on October 19, 2017.

We hope these facts help in the resolution of your concern.

I am rejecting this response because:

The contract states 1000 miles or a month before the coverage is enforced not both. I do not drive that car except to the grocery store on the weekends because I have a company car which I explained to the person in which I was in contact to agree to the contract and he told me that the extended warranty would be in effect after a month or 1000 miles. I signed a contract for 100,000 or 5 years but I bet you stop coverage on whichever comes first not BOTH! Then if by your words why do you get to prorate my refund by 50% when you did nothing!!

Sincerely

We are responding the the above referenced case, as we are not permitted to respond again on your web page. Wish companies would have the option to submit a response at any time. The contract *** received states that the waiting period is 30 days AND 1000 miles. This is also stated in the initial sales call when *** purchased his Untied Car Care Powertrain Gold Coverage for his ***.Because there was a misunderstanding on his part, we will agree to refund *** the remaining monies he has paid into his contract as a gesture of goodwill. This remaining refund will total $497.83.*** should received his remaining refund within 7-10 business days, mailed to his *** address.Respectully,CarShield

Buyer beware. I was stuck between writing this review and submitting a complaint. They do provide a legitimate service, but their sales practice and customer service make it feel like a scam. The hawk their product without regard for the people they are selling to.
Carshield sent me a misleading letter. It made it look like they were with the dealership I had purchased my car from, and were responsible for the warranty I had purchased from the dealership. I was confused because I thought I was already covered. Foolishly I called them to find out. I got in touch with a representative who pushed and pushed to try and sell my a warranty. He did so without discussing any features of the warranty and he made no effort to help me clear up my confusion.
I end up having to hang up because every time I tried to get information he quickly worked to try and get credit card info from me. Each time I would ask for clarification he would cut me off and talk about the 'dangers' of being uninsured.
I assured him that I had just been confused, and that I needed to contact my dealership and figure out where my warranty was. He continued to push me toward purchasing something with this company despite the fact I was already covered by some one else, and as I mentioned I was forced to hang up.
I have put up another review of this company in the past, and they had it taken down. If Carshield spent as much time insuring customer satisfaction and providing good service as they do covering up their image online they might be a decent company.
Their letters are deliberately misleading and their sales tactics are manipulative and reminiscent of a scam. I cannot place any trust in a company that obviously manipulates people to make their sales.
I suggest that you check their Revdex.com rating (which is an F) for more information.

I am active looking for a warranty and found these guys listed as one of the top ten. I doubt that. The guy called me back within 5 minutes of my clicking the tab for a quote. Literally the first question he asked was if I would be buying this policy at the end of the call. He gave me a quote which was double thst of ***. I told him do and asked why. He said *** is a lousy company and was not even Revdex.com accredited. He was right. Imagine my surprise after checking that neither is Car Shield. He began telling me what the policy covers and I said fine, email me a copy so I can review it. He talked around and around the question refusing to send me a copy! Seriously? He then said the copy was attached to the email he had already sent. I checked. Not true. He actually had such an attitude with me I was shocked. Finally I flat out asked him if he did not want to even deal with me because I had not committed to buy at the beginning of the call. He said no but he said it in a snarky way. So I simply said I did not want to deal with him because of his attitude, to which he responded that I was giving him attitude ! I am so happy he was the way he was because it was then I looked up and found so many complaints about this company. Many just like mine. What kind of a company wants to know if you are going to buy their product before you even find out what it is?! I’ll tell you what kind. Only a lousy one who doesn’t want you to know what they sell because it is junk and so they use typical high pressure sales people to dance around with you.

Warranty Issues

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am filing a consumer complaint against Auto Service Agency (CarShield). A representative from this company contacted me and assured me that they will give an extended warranty for my 2010 GLK350 Mercedes for 150,000 miles.

1. Every time my dealership, ***, calls me to inform me that my insurance company (***) told them that what is needed is not covered. *** tells me that I should have read the contract and they say that it is component coverage. Upon looking at their (Administrator: ***, Marketer/Seller: Auto Service Agency (CarShield)) contract, they don’t say which parts are not covered.

2. I was charged $3,500 for this extended warranty. Auto Service Agency (CarShield) is the Marketer/Seller and the Administrator is ***.

3. This is nothing but a consumer cheating scam for a high price saying that it is an extended warranty. Never did they (Auto Service Agency (CarShield)) mention that it is only parts coverage.

4. This company (***) does not care; the customer service lady was rude and says that I should cancel the policy if I am so unsatisfied.

Hope others won’t become a victim like me with these companies, which are fraudulent and sells false warranties by promising it will cover 150,000 miles.

***.

CarShield Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this issue.

Your most recent claim for an electronic ignition switch was denied because that component is not listed in your contract as a covered component. The service contract you received in the mail lists the covered components on pages T1 and T2. The covered components were also outlined in your initial sales call.

***, the administrator of your contract, shows they have paid $1543.89 in covered repairs. Your contract remains in effect until March 25, 2050 or until your odometer reaches 131,084.

We hope this information resolves your complaint.

The advertising review says the company discontinued use of formal postal warnings saying e.g. "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED" in their advertisements by September of 2016. I just received an advertisement with exactly that wording, as well as "PLEASE RESPOND BY: 11/03/2017". It has an unnecessary sense of urgency and appears to attempt to mislead one into thinking the advertisement comes from the manufacturer or dealer, except for a sentence buried in the middle of a paragraph in the corner of the page stating that they are not affiliated with such organizations.

These scammers keep trying to fool me into believing that to activate my car's warranty. Their letters are relentless.
What a bunch of criminals.

I called to inquire about the cost of Car Shield. I spoke to a guy named Joe. He gave me the information, including what the coverage was and how much it would cost. I asked him to send me the information via email so I could sit down and review it with my wife before making a final decision. He kept pressuring me to commit to the policy right away. I told him 2 or 3 times that I will not be committing any finances until I have had a chance to read the information and discuss it with my wife. He again put the pressure on to commit $295 right away at which point I hung up.

This appears to be a very manipulative company as they send a letter that makes it look like your warranty has expired. Clearly they are trying to play on your fears. This was pretty transparent considering my care is less than a year old. I would avoid this company like the plague.

I have been getting phone calls for warranty for my 2012 Toyota Yaris. I tell them I have no extra money then they keep talking while I am telling them NO NO NO NO! I tell them to stop calling me and they still call my cell phone. Now they are mailing letters now. I DO NOT WANT THEIR SERVICE!

I received a mailing of which I have a scan if you allow me to send it to you, from Carshield at ***.

They are contacting me about a 2013 Hyundai Accent and offering me an extended warranty for this vehicle.

I've never owned a 2013 Hyundai Accent. I never contacted this business to have them contact me. I have no clue why they are sending me this mailing when I didn't ask for it. I feel they are violating my right to privacy by harassing me with this mailing.

CarShield Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Our company sends out mailed advertising, giving consumers the opportunity to purchase an extended service contract for their new or used vehicles. They are simply advertisements, like the many others we all receive in the mail each day.

There are dozens of marketers that send out similar advertisements regarding the purchase of an extended service contract for your vehicles. Our company, CarShield, is not affiliated in any way with the other marketing companies out there. The mailed advertisements sent on our behalf all say CarShield, accompanied by our address, in the upper right or left hand corner.

It would be helpful if you could provide us with the ID number that would have appeared on the mailer, so we can determine if it was sent on our behalf and when it was sent.

We will be happy to remove your contact information you provided in this complaint from our mailing list immediately. We apologize for any inconvenience the receipt of the mailer has caused.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I have received several letters in the mail saying that Immediate Response is Requested and that my vehicle service contract has not be activated. I just purchased a new vehicle a few months ago and I thought this was connected to my new warranty on my car. When I called the number I was taken to a survey to win a free trip to Florida. When they asked me if I was over 50 I typed in no and then they asked if I was over 21 and I said no again. I did not want a trip or to talk to anyone about that. I just wanted to see what this was about since the deadline was for tomorrow. When I answered no to both questions they hung up on me. When I tried calling back they just kept hanging up on me. I then went to the internet to investigate and found this with the Revdex.com. I want to lodge a complaint against this company. It is very misleading and I think it should be stopped if at all possible.

CarShield Response

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond and resolve this matter.

We have never spoken to Ms. at the number she has provided. We also do not have record of anyone by her name calling our office

Our mailers say CarShield at the top of every one, along with listing our address. When you call the number on one of our mailers, you speak to a representative that politely gives information regarding an extended service contract on your new or used vehicle. The extended service contracts we can offer are similar the the extended service contracts you can purchase from your dealership when you buy a new vehicle. However, we can usually offer the same coverage at a lower cost to the consumer.

Our representatives would never offer anything other than information on extended service contracts.

We respectfully request that this complaint be closed as invalid.

Thank you.

I received a mailing from this business asking me to activate a warranty. I do not have a vehicle and do not wish to start a service contract.

I got a carshield warranty in July and I was told that the warranty would cover my whole car but when I went to get repairs on my car I was told that there was only a mechanical warranty on my car and that the work that was being done would not be covered. I requested a full refund of both my down payment as well as all monthly payments. Carshield is now dragging their feet to refund me.
