I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint
*** *** contacted me to listen to this tape they say they have of me admitting I am a business. After listening to it I responded to her, those questions were never asked of me, you did something to that tape and put those questions to my answers in there. Of course, she denied this. I never agreed on the phone while just speaking with ** *** that I answered those questions, as they were never asked of me. I can show you my previous electric bills, along with my ***'s electric bills to show you I am not a business. My *** asked ** ***, okay so now we all know we are not a business how can you fix this and she said oh no your *** already said you are a business. Then she said if we want to get out of our contract we'd have to pay about $1,600. I don't understand why they can't just fix what is an error on someone's part by changing our rating to residential. I still have a case with the PUC and am waiting to hear from them. I don't know how they switched that tape to reflex those questions, but I was never asked if I was a company or I if I was the *** of one. All I am asking is how to fix an error, no matter whose part the error is on and they are unwilling to work with me on this. I am a retired person living on *** ***, where ever dime counts, I don't work, I haven't worked in years and if they would check for *** for a federal ID number or any kind of registered business under my name they would see I don't have a business. You could probably even find that information on a computer. What am I to do to correct this???? Do I need to get a lawyer?

The customer completed a TPV Enrollment with an effective start date of ***The customer was advised during the TPV Enrollment that there is a day rescission period from the date of the TPV Enrollment to cancel without penalty. The customer was also provided contract documents which
include the Terms and ConditionsThe terms and Conditions provide an Early Termination Fee schedule, section 12.
Champion has spoken to the customer and advised that if they choose to cancel the Agreement, the Early Termination Fee would be applicable

Champion said to quote "The customer agreed to switch the services effective April 2016"This is not true! Again, Anita can claim what she wants, but it further justifies my complaint and the reasons given for the complaint Champion is demonstrating unfair and greedy practices and a disdain for customer relations The complaint stands I have stated what it will take for me to remove the complaint Nothing else will suffice

The customer signed via electronic signature a contract for a 24 month term with an LMP rate and fixed adder of 0.04777/kWh (Signed contract attached).
Due to an oversight in the manual contract entry the incorrect rate was input. The customer was billed incorrectly for the first 2 usage periods....

When Champion discovered the error the contract rate was corrected to reflect the agreed terms of the signed contract.
The LMP rate is reflected on the contract and the 0.04777/kWh is the adder
Section 3 of the Terms of Service define the LMP Rate.
There are no applicable adjustments to the customer account.

During the TPV enrollment you were made aware the rate and the effective date of service. Champion has agreed to release you from the contract with no penalty but there are no applicable adjustments.

[redacted] spoke with [redacted] and offered a settlement, which would reduce the current Early Termination Fee by 50%. [redacted] declined [redacted]'s offer. As stated in previous communication,  [redacted] was advised of his energy rate and that an Early Termination Fee would be assessed if he terminated his contract prior to the contract end date. The sale agent advised [redacted] that the savings would be seen through the life of the contract not on a month to month basis. He agreed and affirmatively consented to switching to [redacted]. We will honor the settlement offer but there are no further adjustments.

There are no applicable adjustments. Champion attempted to contact the customer to discuss further there was no answer. If the customer chooses to cancel his contract an Early Termination Fee will be assessed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is partially satisfactory.  I would still appreciate an apology from Champion for unnecessarily dragging this out as long as they did, and for their refusal so far to take any responsibility for the error.  I trust that you will take their rather high-handed behavior in this matter into consideration in your future ratings of this company.

The customer completed a TPV enrollment on 6/4/15 with an effective start date of 12/2014 the customer acknowledged and affirmative agreed that he was authorized to make changes to the business electricity account.
Champion contacted the customer on 6/13/14 prior to the start date to confirm and...

verify the enrollment and the contract terms, the customer confirmed the enrollment and contract terms.
The customer contacted Champion to question why this account was established under [redacted] pricing. Champion advised the customer that an enrollment was completed via TPV under a business entity. 
The customer requested to be dropped back to the utility with no penalties. There are no applicable adjustments.

We have made attempts to contact [redacted] directly by phone  and left  messages but they have not returned our call.

  As stated before , I was told that my bills would go down if I switched to using them.  After seeing my first bill go up significantly I called and canceled. It took a few more weeks for them to read my meter. Had they told me that I could be accessed up to $[redacted] if I was unhappy I NEVER would have signed up. I don't believe that I will save money with them, like they told me. They are more interested in profit than customer satisfaction. I was deceived .I feel that they should drop all fees. I did contact them directly but have been unable to resolve this issue.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10685776, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  
I had advised agent I had spoken to Ms. L[redacted] and she was not able to get my credit approved due to my LLC having once expired. He said we can run my credit and just see what happens.  It worked and he sent me a contract.  If her statement were true, the agent should not have been able to get me approved upon running my credit.  When he asked me if I was a previous customer, I was telling the truth since I never actually had service with Champion but canceled my contract and changed to another provider.   Even if the statement were not factual, he should have known this upon running my information.  Champion has went back on their word about allowing me to sign a future contract.

07/12/14 Customer self-renewed via www.championenergyservices.com . for a 12 month plan, the customer received Welcome Documents via the email address provided at the time of enrollment [redacted] (Welcome documents attached).

08/21/15 Champion received switch notification from the utility (Centerpoint) as customer switched to another provider.
The customer contract end date is reflected on his monthly invoices.
The customer portal that was accessed is a courtesy to our customers.
8/21/15 the customer portal reflected the active contract with an end date of 8/25/15, the renewal contract would become effective on 8/26/15.
Although Champion is within its right to assess the Early Termination Fee of $150.00. Champion will, as a courtesy waive the Early Termination Fee.

First of all I feel that I was mislead.  They told me my electric bills would go down.  They continued to call me repeatedly until I believed them. I finally gave in to find out that my bill went up. I called immediately to discontinue their service. I am not paying $[redacted] to discontinue a service that did not live up to my expectations.  I have also contacted the [redacted]. I will not pay this bill ever. They are scammers.

In no way did [redacted] mislead you with regard to your rate plan. You were advised during the [redacted] that an Early Termination Fee would assessed if the term of the contract was not fulfilled and not cancelled prior to the rescission period.  As shared in previous responses [redacted] is willing to discuss directly  further options to resolve this matter.
