Champion Energy Services Reviews (170)

On 7/28/14 Champion received a TPV enrollment to switch the customer's electricity service to Champion. The customer agreed to a 36 month contract at a rate of 0.114130 kWh. [redacted] spoke with our sales agent and understood that she was agreeing to switch from her current provider to...

Champion with an effective date of  9/2014.  During the sales call and the TPV recording [redacted] was asked if she has the authority to make decisions and changes to the service, she answered affirmatively that she does have the authority to make these decisions for the company.
Champion has contacted the customer to reach a resolution. As a courtesy to the customer and the consideration the customer is moving locations Champion has agreed to waive the Early Termination Fee of $1,800.00.
If you require anything further please feel free to contact me directly.

Regards,
Nothing ever came in writing to make this transaction legal. No written contract and nothing showing what rates we would be charged, and nothing agreeing to a cancellation penalty or collection fee.The rate promised was to be 25% savings over current charges - but the rate on our bills is 10% higher than previous. When we called to cancel before the switch was to go into effect - we were told it was too late to avoid fees. The owner of the company had already renewed with our current provider, and I, as someone with no authority would have to pay any fees or be fired from my position.I believed I was scammed over the phone into agreeing to something I knew nothing about. And was given nothing in writing to possibly back out of this scam.

The customer contract ended effective 1/10/15. The customer did contact Champion to renew. The customer switched to another supplier prior to being contacted by the broker. As a courtesy Champion is issuing a rate difference credit for the period 1/10/15-1/15/15. During this period the customer was...

billed on a default price due to the contract expiring.

On 4/2/15 Mr. [redacted] set up his online account which included establishing auto-pay. Champion did not input his banking information the customer entered the information.
On 6/5/15 Champion was advised that the account being used to auto-pay Mr. [redacted] account belonged to another person....

Champion issued a credit to the person whose account the customer entered erroneously and issued a debit to Mr. [redacted]’s account for the charges incurred.
As a courtesy Champion will issue a credit for the Non- Sufficient Funds charged as we understand this was a human error. All energy charges are valid.

Champion has reviewed the customer issue and determined that a call was made to the customer to discuss the outage he experienced. The outage was an issue relating to the pole and wire company (TDU). Champion advised the customer of the outage and the Estimated time of restoration as provided by the TDU.  There are no applicable adjustments to the customer account. If the customer chooses to cancel his contract with Champion an Early Termination Fee would be assessed.
If there is anything further please feel free to contact me directly.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  The contract they are referring to was done on a deceptive act on behalf of the company, Real  Energy Solutions and their representative, [redacted], that approached me about changing companies. I was told as I have been by other companies that I what I was signing for,  which was only the first page,  was giving him ([redacted]), permission to look for a better rate on a contract that was going to expire in [redacted] of the following year. The other pages with, what appear to be,  my initials I never signed. As a matter of fact I never saw those papers until I was approached by Champion. The initials are all identical in every area, which all my initials are never the same and have a period after each set of initials that I do not accustom when I write them. I believe that they were forged and I did not agree to this contract. The rate that is on the contract is higher than the one I had and doesn't make sense to me that I would have agreed on a higher rate instead of a lower one.

I had found a letter today from [redacted] the power utility company from 9/21/2015 where they inform me [redacted] will be the company giving us the energy . Champion is not mention. As I said [redacted] energy the broker company for Champion already knew I was not going to contract with Champion as also [redacted] as early as the end of August or the beginner of September. Champion violated my right and behind my back they took off [redacted] with who I contracted in August and put themselves as the company for my building. I have the letter with me and can fax it to you.[redacted]
