CMRE Financial Services Inc Reviews (281)

This started in and I am still currently in battle (2017)
1) claims, contacted billing company that sent me to collection and they told me there was only claims they reported and CMRE states there are
2) After speaking with the billing department at the company I originally owed, I let them know that I didn't think that I had received the bill due to about bills being received from the hospitals and the fact that I moved about months laterThey were amazing and worked with me to allow me to pay the original amountSo I PAID the bills to the company I originally owed and they told me they would contact CMRE remove the collectionThe company I owe says my account is in good standing and all bills have been paid by me
3) CMRE NEVER removed the claims
4) - TransUnion (one coto report my collections) shows only claims and I filed a dispute to resolve the issueThey investigated, removed the collection, due to paying BEFORE collections because I paid the original company I owed and the claim was revoked by said company
5) 2017- CMRE reported to TransUnion the claims (same) AGAIN!
6)I called CMRE AGAIN, and they told me they have not received any contact from anyone regarding resolution of the claimsFALSE! I called the original company I owed and they stated that the notes on the account show their revocation of the collection claims and the account is in good standing
7) Called CMRE (02/18) is asking for proof of paymentI sent them my insurance coverage and pay off bill to original company I owed and they told me that I was not enough proof and they would not remove the collectionThey told me I needed to show bank statements and I informed them that the account is no longer open due to identity theft and there was no way to access those transactions
8) Called CMRE today (03/22) and they repeated what they had told me and the collector was getting aggravated with me and actually HUNG UP on me! I called back asking for a supervisor and I was on hold for an hourWhen they picked up, he asked me if I called earlier today and I told him yesThen he hung up
9) NOTHING has been resolved in yearsMy credit score has been suffering because of thatMy credit score fluctuated between 725-I cannot wait for the collection to expire (years in my state) because every year when they "do the books" (annually) it gets resubmitted to the credit company and starts over
I understand people say why don't you just pay it and forget about everythingDo you want to pay double on medical bills? Its the fact of the matter! They cannot do this to peopleMy debt is only about $They are probably doing this to thousands of peopleScamming people into paying them money they don't owe
WHY WONT ANYONE STOP THEM!?!

I have collection accounts listed on my Experian and TransUnion credit reports from CMRE and I contacted the cfpa to address this matter as wellThese collection accounts should have been removed from my credit reports because I still haven't received any information on who the original creditor is and the validity of these accounts

The consumer’s account was assigned to CMRE on 12/12/for a date of service of 08/12/The first notice was mailed to the consumer on 12/19/as required by FDCPANo mail was returnedThe first we heard from the consumer was on 01/22/when she did a consumer dispute with the credit
reporting agenciesValidation of the debt has been mailed to the consumer todayAlthough the consumer’s debt is valid; we have instructed the credit reporting agencies to delete the entry due to the age of the account

Our records indicate that we have transmitted the instructions to remove from the consumer's credit electronically via eOscar in May 2016, CMRE has no control over how long the credit reporting agencies take to update the consumers report

I had called a number of times to speak to a manager and each time I would get put through to voicemailFinally after six attempts to reach a manager I finally said "I'm not going to voicemailI want to speak to the manager on the floor." I finally got through to a manager in which I explained I would be happy to pay my three accounts IN FULL if they would give me a letter of deletionI was promptly informed that they will NOT give a letter of deletion and it's their company policy not to do thisI repeated my intentions to pay the accounts IN FULL without the 20% reduction and again I was told they would not give a letter of deletion
So, let's think about thisA "credit reporting" company doesn't want to do any more work then they have toIt's pretty obvious that the post about the "best customer service" and "they really care about their clients" is from someone in the company or someone that filed their customers bills with the company

Company has affected my credit score, claiming I owe them approximately $for a medical bill that was never paidThe company never gave notice, nor do I have any medical bills that were equivalent to that amount that were outstandingThe bill they have reported to the credit bureau is false/fraudulent

I got a Bill on 5/17/regarding a past due bill for
I called in and spoke to someone saying they have been billing an address I haven't lived at in over yearsI never got one piece of correspondence from the original place I went or an eob from my insurancewhen I called yesterday I spoke to a lady saying I didnt do this serviceI also told her I would like proof of any bills I oweShe said to check my eobI did explain I dont have an eob to refer toshe started yelling at me saying to get an eobI told her again I am not able to obtain itI told her can I talk to a sup because she keeping raising her voiceI asked to speak to sup and she said ok and transferred me to the supervisors extension after hoursI hope they check there recording because that person was out of line by raising her voice and not all insurance sends EOBsThis company is completely unprofessional!
I called on 5/25/at 5:09Pm pst please look at who I spoke with

they keep harassing me for an *** guy for a year nowEven though I've told them to stop calling

Absolutely horrible -- they (CMRE) want to collect money but have no idea what they're collectingI'm being sent around in a circle without any answers to any of the questions I asked -- for example, what was the service for, when was it billed, what's the contact # I can reach the hospital to receive detailed information if they can't provideI've paid all bills I've received from the healthcare system (UCLA) and as far as their online billing system, I've paid in full
I was further told by these folks that if I had actually paid previously, and were to pay again that they don't know with certainty who would reimburse me or when they would reimburse me for overpayment (which the hospital by the way, most likely owes me for over-collections on deductibles early during the year, which they must have only applied partially so I've had to pay deductibles again with other healthcare systems outside of their network)
I'm very happy to pay if I have not already paid, however, as far as I am aware, I have not seen a bill requesting payment that I have not yet paid and they will not provide me any information as to what this is for nor have the contact information for who to contact from their client (the hospital)They've treated me with such disrespect and like a criminalImagine if I weren't someone who didn't pay on time? I have a credit score greater than -- I pay all bills I receive on timeI am very disappointed by their lack of knowledge and lack of help, and complete lack of respect of the human being, of the individual
I am also very disappointed in the hospital that utilizes this service and am shocked that a hospital system like theirs would have such shoddy quality control and cash collection mechanism that they would use and continue utilizing a vendor like thisShame on them both -- this gives me a new perspective on the hospital system I have been using for over yearsConsidering their quality of healthcare, there are several other systems that are just as respectable without causing all this drama and stress, I'm disinclined to go back to themWho wants to deal with this kind of nonsense? Especially if you're sick or trying to recover?
Oh and the hospital, I tried calling them, and I left two messagesI got through to one person, and they transferred me to someplace after speaking to them for a bit -- who knows what information they'll send me, if they send me, and when they'll send meAnd whether by then, at the time when I can discern whether this payment is legitimate or not, and actually see what this bill is, and whether I have not already paid, it will likely have affected my credit score negativelyI am at this point forced to pay for payment I've likely already paid and have money owed from the hospital system for overpayment that I have not been reimbursed for, and then wait to see when and from whom i'll be reimbursed for overpayment on a bill that i've already paid
I'm inclined to think that the hospital is poorly managed and billing sick and physically unwell patients, and is abusing their poor physical and psychosomatic mental and emotional state to potentially over-bill - double, triple bill -- the patients of the same procedure repetitivelyI wonder whether this falls under insurance fraud if they are charge the patients that have insurance the patient portion of the bill multiple times for the same service that was received
They (CMRE and UCLA) are making it extremely onerous to find time and effort to find the information needed to make payment and determination of what is due and what has already been paid to force patients to pay without knowledge in fear of adversely affecting their credit scoreAlso, it's very insulting that they've sent something from a collection service rather than send an actual bill of serviceThey are defrauding the patients ability to clear billing and payment history and making patients spend so much unnecessary time putting them through purposeful lack of clarity
I've already spent a full hour trying to resolve what I could today between CRME and the hospital system -- but I'm still waitingI was told by CMRE that they'd take about 3-weeks for the information I requested on the billing, and UCLA transferred me to a voicemail, and who knows if they'll call back, because I haven't had good experience with people calling back from UCLA after leaving a voicemailThis is terribleTaking advantage of sick people takes it to another level of terrible
I realize hospital systems don't always have the best collections system and that in general healthcare billings in the US are very nebulous to the average patient, the average citizenBut this is silly -- all I know is that I had a terrible experience on the phone with CRME and the wait they forced me through, and how I feel forced to make payments on something I have limited information on, and that whether or not they are to blame or any part in this that they too are partaking in this system that insults the consumer and patient with the attitude and experience they provide

I have repeatedly reached out to this company to resolve a billing issue and no one ever replies or calls me back

CMRE has complied with the consumer's request we cease all contactThe service provider has provided us with signed documents signed at the time of service that match the consumer's signature he provided on the letters to CMRE and to the Revdex.comIf the consumer believes he is the victim of identity theft, he should provide a copy of the police report and affidavit of Identity theft

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be a satisfactory initial step I also need to be ensured proper follow-thru until the matter is completely resolved and to know what is happening each step of the way In addition to being kept abreast of the status of my case, I need to know that proper actions/document submissions have been taken, not just any step to make me think the business is acting responsibly As requested in my complaint, I need a contact person who I can easily contact with concerns, queries and to be sure the matter is being handled appropriately.
I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved

The consumer's account was assigned to CMRE in June on The first notice was mailed to the consumer in June 2015, no mail was returned. As a courtesy to the consumer CMRE has submitted a request to have the account from the consumer's credit report

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to
complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not
resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed
appear below
Oh,
there's no confusion on my partI contacted *** (my insurance company at the
time) and when they looked up the bill, they paid the physician's part as well:
the total of it came to $It came to such a small amount because they're a
contracted provider and there was no amount to bill meMy insurance company
then said CMRE is trying to bill me on the amount of money they have to
write-off, which is against the law
The
whole reason of going to a contracted provider is to pay lessHowever, CMRE isn't
playing by the rules*** went on to state that they can submit but aren't
entitled to collectBasically, what they did is collected money from my
insurance company and are now asking for the money in betweenBut they can't
send to collections on a negotiated rate, which they went ahead and did anyway
CMRE can't provide an explanation of benefits and have no idea if I even
actually was treated
I
notified the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, California's Department of
Justice and the state's medical board about it right before the holiday last
week as wellIf my insurance company was able to instantly figure out the scam CMRE
pulled, I'm sure the other will as well
