Roomster has trial membership which will lead to automatic subscription at the end of those days I went to go cancel it the day it expired and they charged me at noon I told them that I tried to cancel it at that time and they went ahead with it There is no way to contact them Any link to their "contact us" or any information gets re-routed back to the home page You can only "chat" with them through messages They refused to cooperate They are also creating bots on their website that are spamming Craigslist 95% of the "people" looking for roommates or people to rent rooms are 100% fake They are creating listings on craigslist, and the contact information goes to a roomster link, and then they ask you to pay to use it

I have been diagnosed with stomach and colon cancer and befoe that was in a very abusive relationshipI was referred to Roomster.com as a great place to find a roommate or roomWell I put all my [redacted] stuff n with a FULL visible profile and five mins later they say as I'm logging in they deleted my profiledidn't allow me to pay for access or anythingSaid spam or burner accountThis business is a SCAM just to get that for three days and etc smhhorrible business they need to be taken down!!

I ordered a "Day Trial" membershipIn tiny letters in the confirmation email, it stated that my day trial would become a full membership and charge my card $per monthI hadn't realized this, and so my card was charged $3x for services I didn't use I contacted customer service to request a refundI could only contact customer service through the website, no phone number was listedThey agreed to refund the most recent charge, October *, but did not even acknowledge my requests for a refund for the month of September - a month when I never logged into the site or used it in any way

Roomster is exploiting [redacted] users by sending dozens of text messages to room posters, such as myself posing as individuals interested in the room however they require you sign up and pay for their service to see their profile My inbox is full of this malicious spam

I put up a post on Craigslist asking if anyone had any rooms availableThe ONLY place I put any ad up was on CraigslistNow I am getting ridiculous amounts of spam texts from different numbersAll of the texts say the same thing, they copy and paste a piece of my original post and say "heres my link" which goes directly to this [redacted] companies websiteThis is not going to fly, and if it continues there will be further actionI strongly urge people not to use this company, purely because their business model is complete **Whoever is replying to these complaints for this company makes me sickAre you seriously correcting the spelling of a customer that submitted a bad review of your company? I am completely astonished by the this business, I would like nothing more to see them in court and watch them go bankrupt

I made an attempt to cancel my subscription and request a refund for their monthly fee of $which they charged me forI only wanted the trial subscription and had no interest in or use for their long term serviceWhen I contacted customer service to cancel and refund, I was sent a response which outlines their terms and agreements, which basically said that it was there in black and white and I could have cancelled before the charge was madeThat really pissed me off and offended meHere we have a company being deceitful about their billing practices as I only signed up for their trial subscription, and when I asked to cancel, they just sent me some [redacted] automatic response saying it was my responsibility to cancel in timeWhen I sent another request for a refund, another CS agent sent me a similar reply that it was outlines in the terms of the agreement when I signed upThat may be so, but I never saw thatI only signed up for a trial subscription, and received lots of messag

RIP OFF...they charged me 5x in one month! Then said I must have held down the key to be charged double, guess all the people complaining about it did that tooThey are a deceptive and conniving company, that SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESSNext step will be to contact a consumer advocate in the news media to follow John S [redacted] around and ask him how he can sleep at night, at to PAY BACK ALL THE PEOPLE HE RIPPED OFF>

I was charged in two different places after the cancellation of service in JulyI was charged weekly in my debit card and monthly in my [redacted] accountTried reaching out to them but told me to call their customer service lines which did not workHad to dispute the charges with my bank account and [redacted] since I had no response or form of communication to the company

They took $out of my account without my permissionI paid for a 3-day trial only and they charged me $instead of the $for the 3-day trialThen days later they took an additional $out of my account without my permission When I contacted them several times by email, they have refused to return my stolen money I have asked them for a contact number but they have refused to provide this information

Although I find Roomster's services rewarding, I find the business practices of the company deceptive, misleading and incriminatingThe agency unfairly prey on its customer base to secure banking information then use it as its very own personal ATM machine I subscribed to Roomster at an introductory rate of $on March **, Three days later my account was automatically charged $I’ve called several times only to go through an extensive voice prompted system that constantly reference its customer to the website The website is a juggernaut of prompts and coded messages protecting the company from human interaction by placing its theft on the consumerAlthough it is or should be unlawful to seal from its customer base, new startups like Roomster continue to hide behind technology as a way to bilk millions from consumersWhen I finally was able to get my account canceled, I received a back dated message indicating my Day Trial was canceled (see attached notice

I filed a complaint about a week ago when this company charged me $for absolutely nothing, without my permission Today I checked my credit card again and see that on or about Nov [redacted] they charged me another $ I have NO idea what they are claiming the charges are for, but I never authorized them, have received no services from this company, and do not want any services from them They are engaging in some kind of deceptive practice that is seriously fraudulent and dishonest

I was registered in your page, but I never get a customer I am having a lot of hard time to terminate the service with you and you kept on taking my my money from the credit card , please discontinue my service with you [redacted] [redacted] ***

On 102017, I tried to logged onto [redacted] to post a room for rent when I get a message I was denied access for the following reasons Roomster takes member safety and security very seriouslyWe don’t want any fakes or scammers using our servicesWe don’t even want people that aren’t easily identifiable from their Facebook profileNo “Burner accounts” allowedEvery Profile goes through a security filter from a Roomster team memberYour account did not meet Roomster's standards and we removed your accessIf you have another Facebook account that identifies you better, please go ahead and rejoin with those new login credentials I sent a message to Roomster explaining my profile in my facebook account lacking because I was a private person and hardly use my facbook account and I have not used Roomster in monthsI did update my profile in facebook that tells a little about myself but I did not post a picture of meself bacause as I have said before I am private person an

On [redacted] I purchased the day trial on [redacted] for $and it was not advertised that after the days, I would automatically be charged $ I was emailed a receipt on [redacted] for my purchase of $but was never emailed a receipt for the $I cancelled my subscription on [redacted] and only learned of the automatic charge of $upon reviewing my credit card history The company is preying on people by advertising $for days and not advertising the automatic charge of $ I reached out to their customer service and never received a refund

I am trying to rent a room in the Washington DC area Roomster has hooked up with [redacted] and Craigslist To inquire about a room, I have to log in with [redacted] For some reason, Roomster has problems with my [redacted] account I have repeatedly submitted messages to Roomster where it says contact them and I have never heard back I am a legitimate, mature professional Roomster is preventing me from renting a room

Much like others, I signed up for a day trial for approximately $I did not realize that after the days you automatically get renewed for a day subscription for $I don't recall seeing this posted anywhere nor do I recall receiving any notice prior to being charged, but perhaps it was missed somewhere in the fine printI also canceled my account prior to my bank posting the charge to my card for the additional $I'd really like a refund, especially since I canceled my account prior to the charge being posted to my bank account and therfore am being charged for a service I'm not usingIt also might be important to note that my account was set up under the email [redacted] , not the email I'm filing this complaint under

I was charged for a membership that I did not authorize I purchased a basic membership for $on January *, On January **, 2017, my [redacted] account withdrew $for a three month cycle of membership I contacted Roomster immediately to confirm that I had not purchased that additional membership and requested that they reverse the charge and then cancel that membership Instead, they deactivated my account, not allow me access to communicate with them and did not return the $ I then contacted [redacted] to ask for help and they were unable to reimburse to charge but confirmed that Roomster would not be able to charge me again There is not a costumer service phone number for Roomster to connect to When I called it, I was given the message to login into the website (which I am unable to do when I type in my email) I infer that I wouldn't be able to open an account from this point on Today, I emailed their costumer service from my personal email, explaining this

This site is a scam, once you sign up for a three day trail they automatically take our out of you accountFRAUDThankfully I was able to report this to my banking company and they gave me my money backStay far away, I feel like [redacted]  groups and even [redacted]  would be a more legit service

I recently subscribed to a roommate finding service and have found that the images used seem fraudulent and misleading Photos don't seem to match the account holder The same rentals are being advertised by different people When you send someone request for additional information, no one returns your inquiry I have wanted to speak to someone at the company regarding my concerns but have not found any contact information on their website ( [redacted] )

Roomster is a popular site to connect housemates Great idea Their advertising and subscription terms are misleading and dishonest The hook is low "trial" purchase period The wee miniscule terms tell you that auto subscriptions are more than 4x the initial fee So I message them and they respond that I purchased the renewal each month, I signed up for The subscriber can choose day/$7.56Cdn, day/$18.99Cdn, or day/$trial Then they hook you in wee small terms to auto renew $per month They will continue to take your money until you say 'cancel' The service is to pair housemates I bet 98% find housemate less than days Roomster crafted their site and terms to con people out of money, because who wants to buy months and months of a service such as this? I've had mine listed for months only because I am busy working and no time to manage it Blindsided by the auto subscription where they hook you at and continually charge 4x the amount, they co
