This website is a scam! They do not notify you of recurring payment charges, and they spam you like crazyTheir customer service is terrible, and there is no way to speak to an actual personPlease use another website!!

The Roomster app was sent to me immediately after I posted a listing for a roommate on [redacted] The trial offer of $for days was offered to continue viewing the app Apparently if you do not cancel within days Roomster charges you $for a monthly package with no warning I continued to be charged for months with no notice even though they had my email address and could easily send notifications my way I finally found out I was being charged after seeing my credit card statement Every roommate contact that was forwarded to me appeared to be a scam I believe these contacts were scams because as soon as I asked for a rental application to be filled out, I never heard from them again Every contact through Roommster had a far fetched story about wanting to rent the place sight unseen and that they wanted to send money right away to secure the room I do not recommend Roommster.com as a sight to find roommates They prey on those who use [redacted] to make legitimate connections

Don't do business with this companyI paid for an account here Eventually I cancelled it because no response and a complete waste of money Then, I found the same content from my ad reused on [redacted] verbatim but with different rental rate with a link just referencing roomster landing page This company is crooks I logged a support ticket with [redacted] about their post I am angry I want all my money back plus damages

Hello, I was not able to cancel my subscription every time you try to cancers description I would say process could not be completed please come back laterI tried talking with support I got no response I tried for a week and then I was charged $for an additional fee when I could not cancel the subscription and then support answered but then would not respond with text after that I took screenshots There's no way to speak with anybody via telephone or a higher up automated responses in canceling my subscription but still charge $ They will not respond to any techs in that's only way to contact them I don't know how to proceed further renounce up report this to the Revdex.comIs anyone has any way of contacting them to try to get a refund of the money that you want able to cancel on please let me knowThank you

Searching through [redacted] I came across many different postings looking for a roommateDuring email communication I was repeatedly sent masked links (links that masked the real website) these links redirected me over and over again to Roomster which kept prompting me to sign up for a subscription in order to continue inquiring about these rooms I was interested inThis kept happening over and over again with different listings and I eventually paid for the subscriptionNow I realize it was a total scam and that these people and these listings don’t really existI am currently trying to ban all further transactions from this company, if they choose to behave in this way I am absolutely sure they will also give me the run around with canceling my "subscription"I’m not even going to try and deal with them, I will be dealing with my credit cards fraud department and the police if necessary

I signed up for a trial period on RoomsterThere was no indication that my account was being set up for auto withdrawalI DID NOT authorize any automatic withdrawals from my accountThe day I was charged I cancelled my policy and requested a refundI received correspondence on Oct [redacted] that they we processing my refund of $I have contacted them on two separate occasions regarding the refund and have not received any correspondence or moniesThe phone number they have listed does not allow you to contact a person eitherThe entire payment system seems to be set up to hoax people

I used [redacted] for a one time day trial on April [redacted] for $5.95, however I noticed on June [redacted] that I was charged $I checked my bank statement for the past days and I noticed that I was charged $on April **, and May [redacted] *total $89.95) as wellI checked my account on the website and It shows that my subscription was cancelled from the first time (April **)I did not renew my account, and I never received any notification from [redacted] giving confirmation of the charges except from the first purchaseI contacted [redacted] customer service department and I have not heard from them either

Roomster's trial offer automatically renews without prior notificationOnce you are notified that your [redacted] has been charged again, they refuse to offer a refundI contacted the customer service within hours of receiving notification of that my plan was automatically renewed, and the (CS) keeps responding with automated messages about their policyI wish I would have looked them up on Revdex.com before-hand, I see this deceptive practice has been going on a long time and hasn't changedAlso, many profiles are either outdated, or fake, some of the pictures flaunt attractive women with many pictures that seem a bit excessive for a profile for finding a place to stay

I posted an ad on Craigslist this business has been flooding my email and phone with annoying advertisement for their websiteThe individual texting or emailing pretends to be a real person with the housing product but really just wants to direct individuals to their websiteI want it to stop They do this to everyone that makes a post on the housing section, they need to stop doing this not only to me but to everyone

I have tried to resolve issues regarding privacy and [redacted] interest links with RoomsterI have attempted to reach them through social media I signed up as required through the [redacted] appI purchased a day trial membership - twiceI realized once I reviewed my profile all my personal and private " [redacted] interests" were now displayingI asked customer support how to remove repeatedlyI panicked because of the personal nature of these interests put my safety at risk I deleted my accountI waited for customer service to resolveAs I still wanted to use this service, I created another account with limited information and again a 15day trial membershipI was open and honest in all communications with potential roommates and explained reason why Roomster removed my account for violating their terms of service

After responding to several seemingly realistic ads on [redacted] while looking for roommates, I have also received several automated responses via text, after providing my phone number to the posts, that link me to the roomster website to get me to sign upTricking me into signing up for your website by creating fake advertisements in [redacted] is not the way to gain loyal customers

Rokmsters has somehow tied into SEVERAL [redacted] add for rentals and rooms I have responded to at least [redacted] adds for San Francisco, yet I get a text to:Apartment still available if interested please sign up here [redacted] The last are always a different code You go the the link and have to sign in with [redacted] user account You have to pay, there is a e day trial for 3.95, yet they don'the tell you it automatically does a monthly renewal of Only found that out afterwards from my PayPal account There are several complaints online When I ask Rokmsters, they said they do not have links to [redacted] adds Seems to be z blatant lie

I signed up for a small access to [redacted] (no subscription) They have been charging me without my authorization I’ve canceled my account with them online, however they are still charging me I have tried to call the number, but you can only leave a voicemail I have searched their site for other numbers to call with no luck Please stop this company from charging my account I would like them to stop charging my account and refund payment made June and July

When signing up for and authorizing the 5-day trial payment, the process involved a screen that stated that I would be notified before the subscription renewedThe charge posted to my banking account on at around 7pmAt 8:30pm, I sent several messages to their support team and have only received a generic response that I authorized the transactionWhich I did notI only authorized the original transaction due to the fact that I was to receive the reminderWhen looking at the documents they have (which, of course, include nothing about a notification) it states that I had until today to cancel the subscriptionWhy can I not get a refund of the $when I cancelled within an hour and half of the charge? Also, this site is a scamI have received numerous emails stating that I have gotten messages (which is why I signed up for the trial in the first place) but have not received any messages other than an obviously fake oneI want my money back!

I'm trying to use [redacted] which directs me to [redacted] which signs me on with [redacted] and then says my account is deleted This is garbage and has no reason! You can't reach [redacted] , [redacted] , or [redacted] by phone and they don't answer complaints Shouldn't some authority be checking this out? Why does [redacted] ruin their reputation by letting [redacted] use them? What do we have Consumer Protection and Attorneys General for?

[redacted] is using [redacted] to post ads for rooms as if an individual is posting the ad If you reply to the room ad, a response asking you to sign up for a paid website is generated Ads should specify that this is a link to a roommate referral system It is deceptive to post an ad as if an individual posted the ad with the intent to solicit business for a paid website

Dear Sir or Madame, I was looking for new housing on [redacted] when I came across an ad for a room for rentI contacted the person through [redacted] and was directed to [redacted] Well, I logged back into Roomster and then I received a messageWell in order to read the message I had to pay Roomster $trial fee for five days It did say that when the trial was up that there would be a charge of $for a monthly subscriptionI didn't want that but when I went on to Roomster to try to cancel it the day before the trial was up I couldn't find out how The next day I received an e-mail from PayPal that I have been charged for the monthly feeI contacted Roomster to see about getting a refund but all I got was a standard message about how when I signed up that at the end of the trial that I would go to the monthly membership and be charged $I wanted to cancel but they wouldn't cancel and refund my moneyI was able to cancel the membership but they would refund my mo

As others have said, Roomster is a scam, pure and simple Roomster, likely under the guise of affiliates, posts dozens of, sometimes incredibly detailed, rental posts on craigslist.org with attractive amenities and/or prices Upon contacting the emails or phone numbers listed on these posts inquiring about the rentals, you are told to sign up first at a given webpage which, regardless of the address, redirects to [redacted] Roomster then requires you to sign up in order to view the available rentals in the area, however none of the original craigslist properties for which you were initially inquiring are real In addition, to communicate with the actual posted rentals on Roomster, you must pay to access your "messages" for spans as short as days for $16, and yet these messages are not real, nor are the rentals listed on Roomster itselfRoomster's fraudulent activities are illegal advertising, and violate Federal Trade Commission regulations As a local example, it seems an enormous proportion of craigslist rental posts in Los Angeles, perhaps as much as 50% of all posts, are Roomster scams These scams are in direct violation of the California Business and Professions Code §§ et seq., also know as the Unfair Competition Law Should the Revdex.com choose not to pursue action against Roomster, I will be seeking suit against the company for its fraudulent practices in California Superior Court, and I encourage others to who have been scammed by Roomster to research advertising laws in their local jurisdictions and consider pursuing similar litigation Do not take seriously the apparent attempts of a Roomster representative to make threats against these reviews claiming that they are "slander"this person does not know the difference between slander and libel (which these written statements would be were they libelous) which they are not as they contain factual accounts of Roomster's illegal activities I have included below a few of Roomster's lines attempting to scam craigslist visitors to sign up on their website, and pay to access additional features such as the Roomster inbox" [redacted] ***" (the exact above statement has been sent on several separate posts from the following email addresses: [redacted] , [redacted] "Room still available. If interested please first sign up here [redacted] then I'll call you and set up a time to view the room." "Room still available. If interested please first sign up here [redacted] then I'll call you and set up a time to view the room."

[redacted] uses phone numbers collected from the 'housing offered' ad page in [redacted] to contact users through VOIP numbers linked to fake accounts in their website All text messages contain a link which directs you to sign up and pay for their services before you can access the messages of those who initially contacted you

I originally created an Account with Roomster to list my apartment room for rent A few weeks on the site, I received a message from a "potential roommate" I was presented with a charge of $for a day trial to talk to said prospect No exchange of conversation ever took place Less than days later I received a charge for $for another day trial that I did not sign up for or give permission They accessed my bank account without my permissionI immediately reached out to Customer service I emailed times, called times, contacted [redacted] to dispute this unauthorized fraudulent charge, there is not one person from the business that got back to me This is a complete scam and want a refund
