Roomster's trial offer automatically renews without prior notificationOnce you are notified that your *** has been charged again, they refuse to offer a refundI contacted the customer service within hours of receiving notification of that my plan was automatically renewed, and the (CS) keeps responding with automated messages about their policyI wish I would have looked them up on Revdex.com before-hand, I see this deceptive practice has been going on a long time and hasn't changedAlso, many profiles are either outdated, or fake, some of the pictures flaunt attractive women with many pictures that seem a bit excessive for a profile for finding a place to stay

I contracted for days of service and paid $and then they billed me for $thereafter I understand that there are several similar complaints on the internet and that this is their business practice

Horrible site that automatically charges you after you cancel!

They charged my bank account $without my permission

Roomster is making my search for a room share much harder, both on and off the Roomster site
Off Roomster, perhaps 20% of the local listings on Craigslist are a form of Roomster spam Roomster pays "affiliates" to create fake listings Roomster, "wink wink" says this activity is "against our policy" Ha
I've followed up on enough Roomster direct ads to have given up entirely: everything was a dead end or an obvious scam Now I've got this woman "from the Ukraine" trying to get me to send her $$$ and she'll express mail me the keys to an apartment (an apartment, I checked, she does not own and is not vacant)

I posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a room for rent, and in day I have received text messages from different phone numbers telling me to sign up on Roomster in order to view their room for rentThere is never a room for rent, they are just getting me to sign upWhen I push them to show me information about the room, they get violent and threatening

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NEVER doing business with roomsterThe company is shady and crookedI signed up for a $trial that would last just a few daysI saw NOWHERE that I would be charged anything more after the brief trialA few days later, at 2am, I was notified of a $charge to my credit cardI started emailing, live chatting, and calling roomster immediatelyI got ahold of someone pretty quickly and was told that they would NOT refund the chargesKeep in mind, the charges had just started pending, I was not made aware beforehand that this would happen, and I did need the service anymoreCustomer service rudely told me that I had authorized this $and that they WOULD NEVER refund me the money, and that if I disputed it with my credit card, they would REPORT ME AS FRAUD TO THE CREDIT BureauI am incredibly dissapointed, upset, and angry at this companySeeing all the complaints on this website nowI understand that this is a pattern from roomster and the only way they can stay in business so far is by STEALING money from unassuming peopleThey are in for a rude awakening because this type of business management BLOCKS repeat customers and the anger from these people, like myself, will also block new customers
WHAT MAKES ME THE MOST ANGRY, is that when you call the Roomster phone number, they promise that there is a money back guarantee and they tell you to email them or talk to customer serviceNOBODY has gotten back to my emails in months, and the chat individuals have been rude as hellDO NOT use this business

The only reason I'm giving them stars instead of is because I did eventually receive a pro-rated refund, but only after I pressed them about a passage in their own Terms of Service saying I was entitled to one
I signed up for a day trial and forgot to cancel before the next billing periodObviously, that's on me, but I contacted customer service anyway to see if I could get a refundNot only was CS slow to respond (average wait time was about minutes per message), but their replies were extremely curt and tactless, essentially amounting to "not our problem." Again, their Terms of Service specifically mention pro-rated refunds for people in my exact situation, but CS was more than content to ignore this fact until I found their refund policy in the TOSEven when I brought it up, they claimed I was ineligibleWhen I asked for clarification, mentioning Revdex.com reviews from other users who had received refunds, they finally relented
Their final email states they "want to be as clear and transparent...as possible," but Customer service was anything butI'm just glad I used my Paypal account instead of an actual credit card

When signing up for and authorizing the 5-day trial payment, the process involved a screen that stated that I would be notified before the subscription renewedThe charge posted to my banking account on 10/**/at around 7pmAt 8:30pm, I sent several messages to their support team and have only received a generic response that I authorized the transactionWhich I did notI only authorized the original transaction due to the fact that I was to receive the reminderWhen looking at the documents they have (which, of course, include nothing about a notification) it states that I had until today to cancel the subscriptionWhy can I not get a refund of the $when I cancelled within an hour and half of the charge? Also, this site is a scamI have received numerous emails stating that I have gotten messages (which is why I signed up for the trial in the first place) but have not received any messages other than an obviously fake oneI want my money back!
