Their auto-renewal is predatory in natureIf you sign up for a 5-day subscription pay $7.95, they will subscribe you to to a 30-day subscription for $Of course, there is no reminder of when your subscription is about to renewAlso, it seems that many of the users on this app are possibly fake profiles or scammersIt's evident many are fake because the profile picture will have a *** watermarkThere are many scammers as when you are finally able to connect with someone, they ask you all sorts of details a scammer would and gives you the story that they're out of townThis business is practicing bait-and-switch and it is completely unethical

accepted my payment but cannot log on and no way to contact vendorcustomer service line does not work

*** is not a good company, they will wast your time, once you open an account with them they stop talking with you, but any result, you try to reach the people who are "Renting Room" but they never respondI did tried to reach them but nobody to help customersBased on my experience I won't recommend to use this site at all Keep away if you care about your money and time

On *** I purchased the day trial on *** for $and it was not advertised that after the days, I would automatically be charged $ I was emailed a receipt on *** for my purchase of $but was never emailed a receipt for the $I cancelled my subscription on *** and only learned of the automatic charge of $upon reviewing my credit card history The company is preying on people by advertising $for days and not advertising the automatic charge of $ I reached out to their customer service and never received a refund

I am highly upsetAfter paying $for a day trial I was charged $I had no idea this would happen and I can't get in touch with anyoneThis is the worst customer service ever and I will never use roomster againI just want my refund

I signed up for a trial period to find a roommateI did not find one Imagine my surprise when I found a $charge pending on my bank account a few weeks later I tried to contact customer support and was told that I approved the charge by agreeing to an email where the charge was written in small print When I tried to ask how they could to this, I realized I was speaking to a computerThey don't have any way of contacting the company without talking to a computer or leaving a message Yes, I did get a "pro-rated" refund Of $ I was lucky that I noticed the charge right awayI'm sure if I hadn't they'd be even more impossible to reach

Since I've had an urgent search for a roommate, I relied on this site to provide quick, easy connections with people in a similar situationGetting a few messages from members, it felt as though I was making headwayThough, to access the messages, they state you have to sign up for the 5-day trial ($7.95)I quickly learned that each message was either a bot or removed immediately - obviously a red flagDue to this, I messaged customer service with my dissatisfaction and requested a full refundMoments later, I got an email message from them, however, the link was dead and I can no longer access the siteThis is a very predatory practice and extremely deceptiveDo not give anyone on this site ANY of your personal informationDoing some homework on their emails, it seems as though they use stock images to pose as "real" peopleI imagine this the reason the messages are deleted soon after being sent

Sneaky membership renewalno way to do business!!

Roomster started charging me on 11/**/on a service I have not gotten assistance withI had tried their free trial period back in October **? but they never really helped meAlso there is no live person to cancel your free subscription

Tried to sign up for the day trial for $The system kept saying that the address was wrongTherefore I kept tryingI then checked my bank account to see I had been charged times!!! then they take over an hour to respond to my questionthen say that the transaction never went throughWell I have $gone from my account!!! They said that it will be reversed but not whenNOT HAPPY!!!

I made an attempt to cancel my subscription and request a refund for their monthly fee of $which they charged me forI only wanted the trial subscription and had no interest in or use for their long term serviceWhen I contacted customer service to cancel and refund, I was sent a response which outlines their terms and agreements, which basically said that it was there in black and white and I could have cancelled before the charge was madeThat really pissed me off and offended meHere we have a company being deceitful about their billing practices as I only signed up for their trial subscription, and when I asked to cancel, they just sent me some ** automatic response saying it was my responsibility to cancel in timeWhen I sent another request for a refund, another CS agent sent me a similar reply that it was outlines in the terms of the agreement when I signed upThat may be so, but I never saw thatI only signed up for a trial subscription, and received lots of messag

Don't do business with this companyI paid for an account here Eventually I cancelled it because no response and a complete waste of money Then, I found the same content from my ad reused on *** verbatim but with different rental rate with a link just referencing roomster landing page This company is crooks I logged a support ticket with *** about their post I am angry I want all my money back plus damages

I signed up for a day trial with RoomsterI cancelled my subscription on /**/@ 1a.mbefore the deadlineRoomster charged me $the next dayI contacted them about the issue and they have been given me excuse after excuseThey are ripping people off and it needs to stop

Like many who have previously filed complaints, I was wrongly billed by RoomsterThey buried their renewal policy deep in their terms and conditions, and when I signed up, I thought I was only paying the ~$trial fee, which was all I was willing to pay, given that it seemed ridiculous to me that a company would charge me to see messages of potential roommates, when something like Craigslist does the same exact thing for free
This unauthorized charging happened for months, again with no notification of charges (I never check the credit card statement for the card I put down because I never use it otherwise), so I didn't find out until after the months had already passed, and I was charged ~$for absolutely nothingI went back and forth with customer service to get a refund for both months, since I didn't go on the site for those months after I encountered a scammer during my trial periodAfter this back-and-forth, I got refunded for only month (they originally only ga

I signed up for the service about a month ago and started using it to look through listings to find a new roommateThe service requires a membership to be able to see messages, message anyone, or see any details about any listingsSo I waited until I knew I was ready to start inquiring about details from rentersI paid $for a day trialI messaged people on their service and in days no one replied to a complete profile and perfectly reasonable general inquiriesI send a support message to complain, thinking I just got tricked into paying for a useless broken serviceMany listings are posted with two different locations or a completely wrong locationMany profiles see incomplete and inactive, but not removed or marked off the general searchI've been solicited with messages that are obviously not for meLike, my profile clearly says I'm a male and my picture appears male, but I got a seemingly copied and pasted inquiry for a female roommateI have a strong suspici

They've randomly charged my card $I only signed up for $4.95! It's impossible to get ahold of customer serviceAnd they have tons of con artists on their siteI want my money back ASAP

I was in the hospital very ill and I signed up for a day trial on March ***desperate to find a roommate
I get a notification from my bank today, saying I have over draftedI am so saddened by this and I feel truly taken advantage ofAll I did was post a listingI didn't respond to anything, I pretty much forgot about this website, because I was in the hospital when I signed up Yeah yeah, I spoke with the horrendous customer service agents that kindly responded with template emails that made no sense, which just reiterated *** I already know( like how to access billing information} Not to mention the sarcastic, robotic language of the template "we're sorry you feel this way even though we CLEARLY say that your subscription will skyrocket at the end of your trial and we'll store your CC information within our systems" How extremely rude, an inane Why would ANYONE pay for this service? I looked at the inbox today and everything seems to be fake, or the people "mat

Roomster is exploiting *** users by sending dozens of text messages to room posters, such as myself posing as individuals interested in the room however they require you sign up and pay for their service to see their profile My inbox is full of this malicious spam

I signed up with the Roomster service Major issues with their website as bugs persist It's impossible to reach customer service They're very fast at getting your money but absolutely no customer service Unethical company and that's not the way to do business in the United States Customer beware

As others have said, Roomster is a scam, pure and simple Roomster, likely under the guise of affiliates, posts dozens of, sometimes incredibly detailed, rental posts on craigslist.org with attractive amenities and/or prices Upon contacting the emails or phone numbers listed on these posts inquiring about the rentals, you are told to sign up first at a given webpage which, regardless of the address, redirects to *** Roomster then requires you to sign up in order to view the available rentals in the area, however none of the original craigslist properties for which you were initially inquiring are real In addition, to communicate with the actual posted rentals on Roomster, you must pay to access your "messages" for spans as short as days for $16, and yet these messages are not real, nor are the rentals listed on Roomster itselfRoomster's fraudulent activities are illegal advertising, and violate Federal Trade Commission regulations As a local example, it seems an enormous proportion of craigslist rental posts in Los Angeles, perhaps as much as 50% of all posts, are Roomster scams These scams are in direct violation of the California Business and Professions Code §§ et seq., also know as the Unfair Competition Law Should the Revdex.com choose not to pursue action against Roomster, I will be seeking suit against the company for its fraudulent practices in California Superior Court, and I encourage others to who have been scammed by Roomster to research advertising laws in their local jurisdictions and consider pursuing similar litigation Do not take seriously the apparent attempts of a Roomster representative to make threats against these reviews claiming that they are "slander"this person does not know the difference between slander and libel (which these written statements would be were they libelous) which they are not as they contain factual accounts of Roomster's illegal activities I have included below a few of Roomster's lines attempting to scam craigslist visitors to sign up on their website, and pay to access additional features such as the Roomster inbox"* ** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ** * *** ** *** *** ***"
(the exact above statement has been sent on several separate posts from the following email addresses: ***, *** *** *** *** *** ***
"Room still available. If interested please first sign up here *** then I'll call you and set up a time to view the room."
